I really don't like having to spend money on my "local" car. I have the Sprinter van and that goes to the dealer because it's still under warranty. My mini-wagon is not and so it goes to other mechanics as needed. The tires are starting to look a little worn so I brought the car back to Discount Tire as I had purchased the current set from them. A fantastic service advisor helped me feel completely comfortable with the spend today, recommending three tiers of tires, showing me the choices and generally being fabulous. I spent the two hours watching the service bay over the top of my laptop where I sent some emails, wonte some Yelp reviews and generally chilled out. The waiting area is comfortable and the wifi worked well. My car took as long as it took, but the tech didn't dawdle and did everything right. I simply cannot say enough positive things about this business. I've had multiple opportunities to use their service and each time, I'm impressed. I had a recent 1 year service on a vehicle. They recommend an alignment, balance and tire rotation. They don't have the equipment for the alignment but recommend the Christian Brothers since I live in Fort Mill. Their quote was over $260.00. The same service provided by Discount Tire for less than $200.00. All of their staff and efficient and professional. I can't understand how any company can advertise a "free" service like air pressure check and then completely ignore us while we wait. I buy my tires from them, but when it comes to a simple service like air pressure check they literally blow (and I don't mean adding air in my tires). It's unfortunate, because they do a solid job on pricing and installs, but service after they got you is awful. This is the second location I've been to with this set of tires and it's a long wait again. Person behind me has already left. After 20 minutes the tires are finally being checked. Called ahead for an alignment, was told my 2015 Tahoe didn't have the right eccentric bolt to be aligned properly, mind you, it's been aligned before. And they don't install parts to do it. If it's not on the vehicle and it's not a tire, it's beyond their abilities. Toe and go is all you can count on. read more

came into discount tire today because a friend recommended this place to me. Thers was no greeting upon entering however it's early so that's to be expected i guess. There were 2 reps helping customers so i waited in line for one to finish up. Another gentlemen comes in and stands to the side whilst another rep comes out and starts to assist him without acknowledging me. Not once did anybody try to apologize for skipping me, not one rep stopped to offer assistance after being in the store for over 10 minutes. There were 4 of us total in the store. I shouldn't have been missed. This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. Im sure this company makes millions and could care less about me trying to get new tires, but do better as a company. I always buy my tires from Discount Tire and they have never disappointed. I always get great deals on the tire brands I want. Some of my vehicles require V speed rated tires. If they don't have them in stock they can get them quickly. The tire salesmen I have dealt with know their tires and guided me through choosing the best tires for my usage. The installers know what they're doing too as I usually watch them installing my tires through the window. They always balance the tires properly and I have never slung a weight that they put on. I have had them repair several flat tires over the years which they do free if you bought the tires from them. They patch the tire from the inside which is the preferred method over "plugging." I have never had any type of leaks on a tire they have patched. They are fully deserving of this 5 Star Review! read more

My tire recently blew out while my car was in PA. We were able to call this location to see if there was a warranty on my tires before purchasing a new one. John let us know that there is however the closest store was in Pittsburg which was 4 hours away from my home town . He assured us that we can get a new tire and just bring the receipt when we got back to Charlotte . We did that and I got about $45 back with no problem . Thank you ! read more

Honestly, DT made a mistake with my car. They ordered the wrong tire (it's the same exact model tire but my car has a custom tread pattern on the OEM) and I waited around and now have to come back again. A shop with less integrity would have put the other tire in and not told me (externally visually identical). The tech came and got me, explained the situation, showed me the difference and apologized for the mistake. Obviously inconvenient but shit happens and the tech was knowledgeable enough to know the difference and honest enough to admit his mistake when he could have gotten away with not. I got two tires from here a few months ago and I've been driving a bit more often than usual and I ended up having a nail in one of my tires. I came here to see what they can do and I wasn't sure if the tire that had a nail in it was the one I got from here. I appreciated their honesty when they told me it definitely was the one I got from here. They said it couldn't be repaired since the nail was on the inside. They put my spare tire as a replacement since the tire was still good. I ended up purchasing another new tire under warranty to put in the spare area so that way I had a good backup. Like most of us, I despise having to buy new tires; however, when I have to, Discount Tire is hands down, the best supplier of such. This location is especially customer friendly and attentive. They also have a large, sunny, ultra-comfortable waiting area with thick cushioned, supportive chairs. Complimentary coffee and bottled water is available while you wait. Not that it mattered much this morning though, as I was in and out in less than 25 minutes after a two tire install. Ran over a 6" carriage bolt which ruined the left rear Pirelli tire on my Land Rover. Of course, it happened the day before Thanksgiving. Apparently, there's a script the Universe follows that lets shit happen, and it works every, freakin' time. Pirelli's. Land Rover. Ouch. I discovered--and now this is the fun part--that Land Rover recommends all four tires be changed since it's AWD, and that some Pirelli's can cost $1,000 each (f*n hilarious, right?). I'm feeling like a fish in a barrel waiting my turn to be shot. Alas, Jesse, the assistant manager, took the reigns and in short order solved my dilemma. And at a reasonable price. What could've been an event that wiped away any semblance of "thankfulness" became a moment that rekindled my hope in mankind. They helped me pick the tire tires and rims that I wanted on my car , and it wasn't a crazy price very reasonable and most of all it's the customer service that made my experience great . I have been a customer here for many years and always am happy with the services- and the people are nice here. HOWEVER- today they gave my car back to my 16 yo son- without asking for his ID- and without my permission. I asked how this happened and the man behind the counter says "if they come in and know the last name- then we give them the car." Apparently- they will give away ANY car to anyone who knows the last name of one of the cars being serviced- NO ID NEEDED. Terrible experience here Came in to have a tire repaired and they tried to sell me all new tires - Said the tread was unsafe and they couldn't do the job, but they are more than happy to sell me all new tires. Was disappointed on a couple of levels with the service I got yesterday. I was quoted a time of 3:40 PM when my car would be finished and it went 30 minutes over that....and the link sent to me on my phone (to check on the progress of my car) still promised me a "finish time of 3:40" WELL AFTER 3:40. On the drive home, I got a call from Discount Tire saying they had forgotten to put my hubcap back on and I needed to return to the store to have that done. *Update 1/24/2015* Just bought 4 new Michelin tires for the Jeep. They check the sizing which gave me the option of going up a size to more all-terrian tire, which is what I wanted. Compared against the Bulk Members Warehouse( which begins with a C and ends with a O), they wouldn't put the tire that I wanted on, because it wasn't on their factory list. Two guys Augustine and Jake, help me other in getting it schedule, and finding the tires in their stock. Once the tires, arrived at the shop, I was in and out within 1 hr, with 4 brand new tires. Service was friendly and knowledge. Staff was quick and curious. Price's were fair and they are willing to show you all the possible options. I was there today around lunch time, there were 3 customers plus myself waiting for someone to service is in the lobby. One of the employees told us he'd be right back to help us and walked out the door with a customer. There were two other employees behind the counter and at least one that I saw in the service bay doing nothing and without asking us if we needed service they both answered the phones and proceeded to help customers on the phone while we stood in the lobby waiting to be served. After a few minutes I walked out. There was only one car in the far service bay and no one was working on it. If I am waiting for service and I am passed up for the phone I will take my business some where else. Put them on HOLD and take care of the customers that bother to come to your business. When I viewed what was wrong my rear passenger tire had deflated significantly from where it needed to be. Went to Drive down to the nearest Discount Tire as I've always had great customer service with the company and this location did not disappoint. So need replaced of course the tire on my car is now discontinued so I have to buy another tire to match the one they are replacing 250.00 later.
