I was recently at Firestone for a flat repair and requested to have my tires rotated and balanced. Although the service was good and fast I was disappointed in the tech the performed the service and lack of care he took in returning my vehicle to me. My wheels were clean when I took my vehicle in, but when I got it back my wheels were filthy. I would hope the service manager would pay more attention to the vehicles after the techs finish with them and have the vehicle returned in the same condition it came in for. I will still use Firestone as again service great. They just need take more pride on returning the vehicles back to their customers. read more

The team here did a good job. I went with the budget tire option and realized on a toyota hybrid prius you need to have LRR tires. Gas mileage dropped to 45 from 55 They swapped out the tires for the bridgestone ecopia plus 422 that I should have gotten in the first place. Recently moved to Texas and realized my drivers license was going to expire next week!! Of course I i realized it on a Sunday and had exactly a week to get everything done with a chaotic work week ahead. The guys at fIrestone, this one in particular, were so dang helpful in getting me AND my husbands car in to be inspected so we could move on to the next step of getting our tabs and plates THEN my license. I had no idea what all of this process entailed and they not only broke it down for me, but helped me look up the nearest tax collector location and gave me some tips on how to make it go smooth once I got there. The staff here are so friendly and welcoming! They were so fast and so helpful! My car had some serious issues and they were able to figure out and thoroughly explain to me exactly what it needed and how to go about after care as well! They even price matched the lowest price I had found for the solution online!! My car has been running as good as it has since the day I got it! Also, when they explained things to me I didn't feel like they were talking down to me or like I was an idiot, which happens a lot being a woman at a car place! I understand that everyone needs to make money however, I'm not a fan of employees using phrases like "cool, dude" when speaking with customers. No, its not cool, and don't call any customer "dude" ever. Scare tactics and being overly dramatic about issues is not a way to make money in our family. We know what we are talking about and when you go through your whole speech about how things are soooo bad but if you have to wait a little while to fix it I think it might be ok....we laugh. The labor that was listed on the program Firestone has was considerably higher than necessary. When asked about it the employee could only say well, thats just what our program says. Just because the company programed the system to inflate labor doesn't make it ok! We will likely continue to use Firestone on an as needed basis for basic services like oil changes and tire rotations but will go elsewhere for anything else. read more

Yesterday I realized that I( needed an oil and filter change and stopped by Firestone. They estimated that it would take 90 minutes due to the business and that they would be happy to do the work. A wonderful guy named Mike gave me a reasonable estimate. Ninety minutes later the work was complete as well as a free check of the car and its engine. The estimate on time and money was exact. Mike was great: polite, friendly, and professional. His ability to work in a busy area was noteworthy and his stunning management of continuing people and car problems really impressed me. The prices are around the same as most places like this, but they don't realize that by having you wait there so long waiting on you car you hear how much hey try and up sale every single person who's car is just about done. I've been using Firestone for years, maily because of their nationwide warraty. The service at this location has been fantastic! The guys at the counter are knowledgable of their products and work hard to find a good cost balance. Like every mechanic, they will point out items that can use some servicing and make assessments based on wear and recommended service schedules. However, they can't see the future. I'd much rather they tell me that all hell will break lose if I don't tighten one bolt and let me decide than them not letting me know that something in my vehicle could break down then finding myself stranded waiting for AAA. In the end, it's my choice what and when my car gets fixed. Oh, and I don't mind they guys being casual. Not everything in life has to be so damned serious; certainly not getting a little work done on the car. read more

Where do I start? I've never taken my vehicle into this place for an oil change and them not try to up sale me. One time they told me that I needed over $2000 in brake work. I took it to Ford to confirm and $300 fixed my problem. Got a slow leak in your tire? It's ALWAYS too close to the sidewall to repair but they have a nice shiny new tire they will gladly sell you. The final straw for me was when they mounted one of my tires with the white letters facing out and the other three facing in. read more

As luck would have my 99 Jimmy broke down across the street from Firestone. The guys there were great. I wanted to change my fuel filter but had no tools. The mechanic loaned me two crescent wrenches. Unfortunately this did not fix my issue. After $80 for a tow of 100 yards these guys went to work. After about 4 hours of waiting and trouble shooting by the lead mechanic the old Jimmy decided it wanted to go home and began running fine again. I went to the counter to pay but they said no charge. Their policy is if they can't fix it the customer doesn't pay. Thanks again Firestone. I was 100 miles from home and had no one to come get me. read more

Went in to get a water pump replaced on my GMC Truck. Walked out with a $899.46 bill. They like to stack up the add ons like cooling system test for $30, Coolant Flush $14.99 Plus $67 Labor, and the thermostat was $30 plus $98 labor to install it and the $25 for shop supplies. Recently, I came in and noticed the casual atmosphere of this location. Eveyone is relaxed and casual, but "thanks buddy" or "hey man" is a big no when calling a customer.. by coming in customers pay for your paycheck.. without customers bringing in their vehicles, how does firestone makes a profit to pay its employees? It's great that the same customers come again and again but I cannot be part of that and this is why: firestone charges way too much with very poor reasons to back themselves up as to why and tries to make as much profit from each customer. They say its company policies standard to charge like that. They use deceitful tactics that tricks the customer into getting all the "recommended" services done to their vehicle..many of these services you can simply do at home with little effort and time..just buy the part. Frankly, I am chagrined and sick in my stomach that firestone charges both as much and as high as they can. I came in to get my tires replaced as the treads were too low. They also said my air filter was dirty and cabin filter needed replaced..I clearly told them I can buy the filters and do those myself simple and quick. The employee look somewhat annoyed and asked again to which I declined. It's unprofessional to respond to a paying customer by nodding yes and blurting out"yipity dapity" when asked if the vehicle been all fixed. I see that you must pay your employees, but please do not take as much money as you can from customers. I did email a complaint the other day and the store manager personally called me and apologized and he also said that he talked to his employee about professionalism. Bought new tires and had them realign my truck last week. Came in today since the truck has been pulling to the right since they "adjusted" it last week. Was greeted rudely by tech Kelly...apparently they're not so concerned about fixing their mistakes. After initially being told that I'd have to schedule a readjustment, they put my truck in the queue. While waiting for the truck, I tried to inquire about a tire diameter for times that might work on my 65 Mustang...but supervisor overhearing my request...his name was Chris...started to protest that they don't have data for cars past the 90's. Never mind that I was asking for a simple piece of information that they should have readily available...the diameter of their freaking tire. Really disappointed in the quality of service...could have totally overlooked having to readjust the alignment. But I won't be buying tires here for the Mustang or any of my future cars. Scheduled an appointment for an alignment, tire rotation, oil change and state inspection. They were done within an hour. Great service and reasonable price for synthetic oil change and the wait time was considerably less than what it would have been at a dealership. I purchased their lifetime alignment last year (black Friday sale)- well worth the price since I put plenty of miles on my car each year and sometimes the roads are not so great. They quoted me prices for 2 new tires which I knew were about ready for replacement BEFORE I got there. I would have been surprised if they didn't recommend the tires. Unfortunately the tires offered weren't quite what I wanted so I passed. Very happy with the service and will be back to this location. read more

Not a bad group at this store. I agree with some of the other customer reviews regarding Firestone pricing. I feel that Firestone does not compete from a pricing standpoint for their mechanical repairs. I think this company is making the age old mistake of putting profit ahead of long term security. Watch out for the Battery Test that they will provide you with "free of charge". Checked my wife's battery & was provided with a print out that indicated the battery was bad & would not last out the week. I was tight on finances & had no symptoms that the battery was bad. I rolled the dice and did not purchase a new battery. The battery is still kickin strong 8 months later. Printed a coupon for a low cost oil change. Can't remember exactly what the price was. I think it was $19.95. When they finished my oil change the cost was like $40. Of course, I reminded the sales person of my coupon for $19.95. He tried to tell me that my oil cost more as it was a special weight oil.. I think the weight was 0-20. I pointed out that the coupon did not mention anything about the weight of the oil. When he continued his effort to over charge me, I subconsciously stuck my fingers in my ears and started mumbling. I had to make a strong stand to get the price advertised. I just noticed there are 4 Firestone stores in Arlington on Yelp. **18 reviews total for all 4 stores **The average rating for all 4 stores is a weak 2 Yelp rating. This used to be a place i could trust and i knew my vehicles were getting properly maintained. This is no longer the case at this location. Ever since Becky has retired and Kelly and Michael have transferred to another location , this place has gone down the toilet. They don't care about you, they just want to sell you add ons for stuff you don't need. They were not able to keep my appointment two times. Michael gave me a card for a free oil change if I would give them another chance. So i did and they wouldn't honor that because Michael no longer worked there as his last day was just the day before. Wow, what great customer service. The last time i was in i got my oil changed anyway and specifically asked to fill my tires to all 33 pounds ad they were all low. They didn't even do that, they were too busy trying to sell. That was my last visit to this location forever. I've been going there for many years but no longer. Had my car repaired (but not much) and is worse than before. Spent several hundred dollars on it too no less. About $700.00 plus. Shakes worse than it did and now smells very strong of gas when we run the air or heat. They blame other things that could be done (naturally they always find something else that could be done) but has nothing to do with the fact that the issues I went in there to be taken care of are worse than before (the car shaking before and now worse than ever and timer was obviously not set right and was promised it would be smoother) and the NEW problem of it smelling like gas. I will take it to another Firestone location to make them make good on the parts and labor warranty but will NEVER go to this location again. Sky high prices and lousy service. read more

I will not be bringing my vehicles to you any longer, and I want you to know why. Last time I took in my car for an oil change (a couple months ago), the odometer was not reset (so my car still stated I needed a change), and the glove box was ripped off the car in order to get to the tire lock key. Literally ripped out of the car. I did not care that much, really, because my car is pretty junky - it has been wrecked. Yesterday, I took it in again for an oil change (at this point, the odometer stated that I was about 8000 miles past due for one since it had not been reset) and a free alignment (I have lifetime alignment). Today, I got the call I always get regarding whatever else you want me to pay for (horn not working, and brakes). I am used to that call; I have never taken you a car where you didn't tell me you found hundreds of dollars worth of repair that it needs beyond what I've asked for, so I just turned it down. I was, however, surprised to hear that you wanted to "fix" my horn as I just passed inspection last week. I went to get my car. As I stood in line, I watched an employee at a desk make 4 phone calls, saying each time, "We've fixed this, but you have this other thing wrong that you should also get fixed, etc." Like it's his full time job. When I got to the front of the line, I was told I owed over $800. I explained that I had just received an oil change and a free alignment. The error was fixed and I actually only paid the correct $46.39, but I did receive a paper breaking down what was suggested: You will fix my horn and replace my brakes for $813.11. I am quite positive that my brakes don't need fixing, but surely you wouldn't just make up the fact that the horn is broke. The suggested charge for labor on "Electrical diagnostic - horn non working" is $145. When I got to my car, I immediately ran a diagnostic test myself; to check the horn on my car, I lightly pressed the center of the steering wheel. My car blared out a loud trumpet-like sound, suggesting to me that the horn is fine, and that you were attempting to extort $145 from me if I would only say over the phone "Yes, please fix that." Although I have a free alignment for life, you will not be seeing this car or any car I own again. I will also be telling anyone in the neighborhood I talk to about oil-change and mechanical shops to avoid yours. read more

Hey do you want to waste your money and your time? I've got a great idea for you, go try to buy tires from Costco. First you call them as soon as they open and they answer the phone and pretend to ask you if you are interested in being put on hold. Of course, you do because you want to waste your time, but you play along and so you try to say "no thank you," but, because Costco are experts on wastes of time and money, of course they know the game too, so they put you on hold before you can answer. Of course if you want the special extreme waste of time you wait the 15 minutes on the phone, then hang up and call 5 times while you're on the way to the store until they eventually leave the phone off the hook never once even asking what they can do for you. This is where it gets really sweet because you get to pretend that they really give a flip about their "members" who actually pay anual fees for this type of "service." This is the step where you call or walk in where you ask to talk to an administrator who plays a game with you where they pretend to listen to you while blaming you for being upset. If that's not enough for you, then you can actually go to the tire center where they tell you your tire must be ordered and give you a price that is HIGHER for the same exact size and brand of tire that is IN STOCK at every neighborhood Firestone, which absolutely sucks at wasting your time and money. I mean the Firestone actually answered the phone quoted prices over the phone offered credit and LISTENED. Their base price for the same size and brand of tire was already lower and they added a discount onto that. I mean you're really going to have to try harder if you're going to compete with Costco at wasting my time and money, Firestone. read more

Dropped my 2011 Dodge 2500 diesel truck off to have an oxygen sensor check engine code checked out. They charge $89 up front for diagnostics. Well, ok, went ahead and did it since the truck needed to be checked out before an upcoming trip. While it was there I asked them to balance and rotate the tires and align the front end. They message me back that it would be roughly $350 for the O2 sensor and another 200 for the other services. Ok told them to proceed. Get a call that afternoon the truck is ready but the engine computer may need to be reflashed if the check engine light comes on. Well that would have been useful to know that there could be another $300-400 repair coming. Fine, whatever, it's done now. Go to get the truck and wait 15 minutes to get someone to check me out. While I am there, I speak to one of their front desk guys about he merits and drawbacks of running the truck without a catalytic converter (hold that thought - it is important later in the review). Finally get checked out and they pull the truck around. Tires have clearly not been rotated. Wheels caked with brake dust are still on the front. Go back in and ask to have the work done that I paid for. it takes them 35 mins to get it done. Watching them work it is clear they hadn't balanced the tires either. Good lord, how frustrating. I have to ask them twice why it takes so long to rotated wheels when a vehicle is on the lift and no one ever admits the wheels were never balanced. Finally get out of their about an hr after I was dropped off to get my truck. Fast forward 6 days. I go out to the truck which was parked out front of my home, crank it up and it is noisy as hell. Well what a coincidence, 6 days after my truck was at firestone, and 6 days after they had my address, and 6 days after we discussed taking off the cat converter, all of a sudden my cat converter is gone. You guys know as well as I do that those things are bolted on pretty tight at the factory, so tight that usually when they are stolen they are cut off. Mine wasn't cut off. Someone just loosened the bolts and slipped it off. What an odd coincident that my cat converter was stolen after it had been on a lift at firestone and it wasn't cut off. But in my life, events like this are rarely coincidental. So you be the judge. I wouldn't take my truck to firestone if I didn't want a $2500 to mysteriously disappear a few days later. One other note, the truck vibrated like crazy after firestone "balanced" the wheels. Took it Discount tire a week after getting the cat converter fixed. And you guessed it, Discount said the tires were wildly out of balance, and fixed them free of charge. read more

My wife had a nail in the tire of her car. Got up early and took her car in to have the flat fixed. They said it could not be fixed so I bought two new tires for the car. They told me it would take about an hour. So I decide to take a uber home and get my truck for an oil change. We set up a time to bring my truck up to get the oil change and pick up my wife's car. They said they would call me in an hour to bring the truck up and pick up the car. I was alright with that and they would have my they would have the truck ready by 3 that afternoon. I'm there at 7 15 in the morning. I never heard from them so I headed back up with the truck at 930 . They are still working on getting the two tires on. They also said they could not do my truck that day. But they had a long list of stuff to be fixed on the car and wanted to put in on the rack to check the front end. I never asked them to check under the hood. They had come up with about a 1000 dollars worth of stuff to be done. Like change oil on the car change the oil in the transmission change the brake fluid. The car is serviced regular at another company. They are more worked about finding stuff wrong and running up the bill instead of fixing what I paid them for. So roughly 3 hours later I had to demand my car back so I could leave. The customer service is lousy. I would take it any place then a firestone store. They said that is how they are trained to fine everything wrong and run your bill up. I would find another company. read more
