One of the better DT's I've been in, and I've been in a few over the last few months with tire sensors issues and nails in the brand new tires. This one looks like it's been around for a while, as the inside is a bit more "used" than others I've frequented lately. They open at 0800 yet I got there at 0730 with only one other person waiting. They waited till the exact time of 0800 to open any doors. However at that time there was a swarm of individuals that had arrived and started lingering to the doorway, luckily at least a few of the Red Shirts recognized who arrived first, and help me and the other lady out before the others. I was in and out in about 20 for a tire that was losing air. Good guys on site, they even tried to relearn my tire location for the TPMS system, tho it's still not functioning. The service here convinced me DT is the place to go for tires so I've used them ever since for all my vehicles back home. This week I brought my elderly brother in for new tires. He enjoyed the discount for opening a credit account, and the manager patiently assisted bro with finding safe, value tires for a person who only drives a couple thousand miles annually. I have been a Discount Tire customer for many years. I went in today to have my TPMS sensors changed, tires balanced, and air pressure checked. Being on a tight budget, my sensors had been purchased online, and I was told there would be a charge for installation. While I understand this is a little over and above "maintenance", I still was not happy with the number of SETS of tires I had purchased here, AND referring friends. The manager Roel stepped in and saved the day. Unfortunately, the chances you take when buying online is non-compatability. The new sensors were not correct and they showed me the problem. I bought my tires at another Discount Tire location in Arlington, but visited this one recently to get my tires rotated. This location is clearly the red-headed stepchild of the Discount Tire locations in Arlington. It is lacking in professionalism, a public restroom and customer service. The Store Manager, Assistant Manager and one of the tire technicians were basically kicking it in the private office and showroom cutting it up with each other while customers were waiting and 3 employees were burdened with the workload. Whenever I am in need of tires or rotation, I would steer clear of this location so I can experience better service. read more

I Like Discount Tire stores and will continue to use them. Just not this location. I took my BMW in to have new tires put on and the front office was friendly enough. I did see one of the techs turning his back to my car and was trying to donkey kick (back kick) my tire off the car. BMW rims a hard to take off at times but there is a proper way to do it and that was not it. When I got my car back there was dirt on the passenger side that was not there before. So I knew they were trying to cover something up. I quickly discovered that the donkey kicker had kicked my back fender and chipped my paint. That was a $600 fix that they paid for of course but it did not have to happen if they would have done it correctly. Stay away from these guys off Collins in Arlington. read more

I unexpectedly found out I needed tires, and being your typical girl, I didn't really know where to start. I live very close to this location, so I thought I would go to them to get a quote. I was greeted by David and he was very friendly and helpful. He explained all the possibilities I could get, and why I should go with a 3-star tire. He explained everything in a way I could actually understand...don't forget, I'm your typical girl and don't know much about cars. After deciding to go with a 3-star Yokohama, they pulled my car in and got to business. I waited about 20 minutes, and when it was pulled to the front, David noticed that they put on a different Yokohama tire than what I paid for. He apologized for the mixup and said it would be fixed quickly. A few minutes pass by and he comes to inform me, because of the mixup they were putting on Michelin tires! I called this place to see if they patch tires and how much it would be because I suspected I had a nail in my tire and this was in the area. The man was nice over the phone and said it was free of charge. I arrived within 20 minutes and was attended to pretty promptly. He looked at my tire and pointed out the nail. He then measures the tread on my tire and I notice one spot in the front measured yellow and the rest was green, then he went back and measured the yellow and said he couldn't service the tire because it was illegal and tried to sell me a new tire. NOT EVEN THE ENTIRE TIRE HAD LOW TREADING, and also, it's a free service, so why can't you just patch it for me and let me be on my way? I declined the new tire because I knew the condition of my tire wasn't terrible and honestly I know where I can find a better deal. He then offers to put air in it since they won't patch it. Another man puts air in the tires and sends me on my way. Two days later, I notice that TWO of my tire caps were missing and not placed back on my tires. WHAT THE HELL. Vandergriff Hyundai "fixed" a tire that took 49 hours, $34.29, and lasted 30 mins before it was flat again. Oh and they just put air in tire even though I told them it would not hold it. $34?? For air? You have been POS's every time I've been there but it was the only place roadside would tow to. I bought Fix-A-Flat for $7.68 and it's still holding after 3 hours. Because of the H*LL Vandergriff in Arlington, TX put me through; Nick at DISCOUNT TIRE on Collins in Arlington, TX gave me a special, special deal to replace all of my 27,000 mile factory tires with tires that will last a lot longer!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Nick! As for Vandergriff Hyundai, they can kiss my butt! Not that you will ever see it again! So I hope you both reap what you sow. Now I will pray for everyone that has real problems.
