Not impressed with the overall customer experience & professionalism. The manager working tonight did not treat the customers that came in with much respect. They will use you like an ATM. I would never trust these guys with my vehicle. Originally came here for a tire alignment ($100), they tried to tack on an oil change & fluid change for my truck. There recommendations came out to be $1200 worth of useless work. Oil life on my dash is at 80%. I'm usually a pretty positive Yelper. I recently went Firestone in Apple Valley to have a tire repair service done, as I had picked up a drywall screw from a nearby construction site. Although the repair was done in a timely manner, when I got back into my car, I noticed grease from the tech's shoes all over my cream colored floor mat, carpet, and sill. Outraged and not wanting to cause a scene, I went home. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the same wheel weights were left on the rim (charged for re-balance). Now, I used to be a mechanic and started out as a tire tech so I know what I'm looking at. One cannot balance a tire with the old weights on the rim. The tire had no remnants of markings indicating tire clock position in relation to the stem or weights, further indicating he just slapped it back on without balancing. Even more, the tech did not put my spare or jack away, as one would expect it to be. This is very unsatisfactory workmanship. Typical of today's workforce. Quantity over quality, I guess. read more

This is the shop to go for me when it comes to tires. I got 4 brand new wheels and tires that I needed mounted and balanced and put on my car. Dropped it off early morning and was done by noon. Totally hassle-free. Along with the wheels swap, they inspected my brakes, topped off my fluids and went through a general inspection of my car. All for $100. I have yet to have any problems and I trust my car with them and that's hard to say with big chain shops like this one. read more

AVOID AT ALL COST! It took their Service Manager less than ten minutes to loose me as a customer. At a time when businesses are struggling and families are looking for a partner to help them during their time of need, their service manager told me to literally "take my business somewhere else". On Friday Dec 11th, I went to the store after feeling a vibration in my tires. I talked to the service manager and explained to him that I was in my Jeep the day before during a snow storm and hit a curb with my left rear tire, possibly at 20 mph. I told him I think the vehicle was simply out of alignment or a weight had been thrown. Many years ago I worked at National Tire and Battery and I'm somewhat familiar with alignments and tires. He then took my information and I handed over my keys. A staff member was able to quickly grab the Jeep since there was very few cars being serviced. Minutes later, another person said they had already "figured out" the problem and it "wasn't good". I had been there 5 minutes. I was taken to my Jeep that had been lifted and that's when one of the service people spun the left rear tire and proceeded to explain to me that I had damaged the gears in my rear axle's differential case or I had damaged the ball bearing in another part of the axle. He said they figured it out by simply turning the wheel and hearing a "click". That seemed strange, because at low speeds it felt normal. I told them "I think it's an alignment issue, can't we just get that looked at before I spend $2,000 on a new axle?" I told them it felt like the vibration was coming more from the front and asked them again to check the alignment. This is when the service manager basically said "you can get an alignment, but we're not going to do it here. You can take your business somewhere else". I was shocked and angry. They were offering no solutions. The techs were committed to the idea that the axle was broken. I told them to "take it down" referring to the Jeep on rack. The service manager then said I didn't need to be angry. He said quote "I'm not the one who ran into a curb going 20mph!" Like he was lecturing me! I was a regular Firestone customer and this is how I was being treated. It's not like I was asking for a free alignment. They were basically saying my money wasn't good there and get out! I then took "my business somewhere else", across the street to Tires Plus. They then told me I had "snow in my tires" and to clean it out. Sure enough, the next day the snow melted and BOOM! NO VIBRATION! After a 5 minute assessment they concluded I need WHOLE NEW AXLE when all I needed was a hot cup of water. This is a prime example of predatory practices by mechanics taking advantage of unsuspecting customers. I think everyone in Minnesota should AVOID THIS STORE! read more

I went in to get an oil change and mentioned that my antifreeze had been leaking. They took me back into the garage and explained what the problem was and afterwards they showed me the parts they took out. I appreciated how thorough they were, but I ended up spending a lot more than I had expected to. I probably should have consulted one of my more mechanically-inclined friends first to see if I really needed to fix all the extra stuff or not. read more

Needed new tires for my car. The size was hard to find and Firestone had them in stock. They were able to get me in quickly.

I've taken my cars, fleet cars, and company cars here for years. John and Mick were fantastic!! As soon as they left the new management has lost all my respect and business so quickly. My wife took her car there for an oil change and they said she needed a new air filter.. I told her don't do it and I'll do it myself since it's so easy to replace. Well they never put the old one back in, nor did they clasp the harness closed!! The Mass Air Flow sensor got Dirty and the car stalled in the middle of an intersection because of it!! It was considered an emergency tow and cost me $375 all said and done. I replaced the air filter myself, told Firestone about it and they just said. "Sorry...we don't have proof that we didn't put it back in or the issues was caused by us." I gave them 1 more chance to keep my business. My wife took her car in for another oil change 3k miles later and they called me and said "the air filter is looking dirty and should be replaced". I lost it. And they lost my business...all for a $40 upgrade... 5 years, and 10s of thousands of dollars of business all to make a quick buck. Pathetic read more

As I was shopping at an adjacent store and they parked my car in. They told me the lot is theirs and were rude in responding to me. I entered their lot from the north parking lot that had no sign. While I was buckling in my children, they honked to hurry me up so they could park in my spot. Very confrontational and wouldn't listen to my recommendation to post a sign on both enterences of "their" lot. read more

I was a loyal customer of this shop for nearly 20 years. They had great management and seemed very trustworthy. Slowly, over the last few years things have changed. Every oil change leads to a pile of service issues with lots of dire warnings about how these things have to be fixed. Feel pressured with high pressure sales tactics. Quotes over the phone for repairs are always given piece meal, or in dribs and drabs, no tax included, etc. Then when you go to pick up the car the total is way more than the number given over the phone. Try em out for yourself and trust me you'll see what I mean. It's like corporate came in one day and fired the old team and decided the store needed to hit some sales quota every month or the manager gets fired or something. So sad. read more

I rate Apple Valley Firestone 3 Stars, here is why. The techs are pretty good, Pat is great, and Rodger is easily the best around hands down. However, the completely useless front shop or Service Writers as they are known are an absolute joke. They clearly don't have a firm grasp on what goes into fixing a car, just sell, sell, sell. I brought my car in for an oil change a few days ago, I had an appointment for 7pm and big suprise nobody started working on it until 7:45. This has been a problem for sometime with this location. I have been coming here for years only because of the 2 previously mentioned techs, I know the personally and they are 2 of the few of the surviving honest techs. So 3 Stars gets you some good to AWESOME service depending on the tech, that is if you can cut through the idiocy of the front shop. read more

I was given a coupon to come here. I brought my vehicle here for an oil change. Maybe I came on the wrong day but I was treated like a nuisance and then made fun of as I walked out. The technician (if that's what you want to call this kid) left oil all over my vehicle, inside and out. When the service writer asked me if there was something wrong, I explained the issue to both of them. They both seemed like it was a non issue. I exited the shop and the tech began saying, basically, how stupid I was to all of his tech buddies. They laughed and had a good time making fun of me. Needless to say, I called and explained to the manager what I heard and that I wasn't mad but if I were the manager, I would be embarrassed. It's too bad that these guys work there, it was convenient. Hacks will be hacks but I wouldn't trust my vehicle to those kids. read more

First time and would be last time customer with this branch. I know some mechanic skills myself and if it won't had been my busy schedule and lacking some tools at hand, my sister won't have to face terrible experience with this branch at Apple Valley. She brought it in for alignment and not only the wait, our functioning car end up with super loud sounds on the exhaust and alignment not adjusted right. The mechanics had either rush to align things at the last minutes or being non-skillful. It could be suspicious too as he claims at the very beginning of not 'touching' the engine while just being approached of what's going on right after the alignment. A snapshot should have helped when my sister did suspect something in the middle of the process. Not only he is in denial but the shop try to get her to pay for this 'new' repair. We had never have problem with Firestone in St. Cloud branch, which has more clients and constantly is busy. A wise advice would be never go to a branch that apparently with low volume and lots of complaints both online and walk-in, not all branch are consistent and may not be standardized. Our friends and neighbors share similar experiences which we found out later. read more
