We have been going to Protech for years for our auto maintenance. We trust Protech. They are honest, do a good job and are reasonably priced. Today I went to get my oil changed. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they washed my car mats! They were salty and dirty from getting in and out of the car all winter. Not only did they wash my car mats, they vacuum and I get a car wash included in the price of my oil change. We highly recommend Protech! read more

Total tire savers! We got a puncture on one our tires so switched it with the spare tire. The spare tire started to leak as we drove off so we made our way over to them 15 minutes till close. The staff was super nice, helpful and understanding. The technician put a plug on our tire and switched the spare out. We made it home with no further issues. Didn't follow instructions. I asked simply that the 1 rusted license place bolt be removed and I would buy stainless steel ones at the hardware store. I explained this at the front desk and as the fellow typed, presumably recording what I said. When they took my car into the service area I was asked again what I wanted and I said the same thing. In a few minutes my car was done, I was charged $42, and they installed new bolts. I asked if they were SS and they said they would probably rust. Thanks a lot. Were they the proper screw thread and pitch? No, self-tapping. So they didn't do what I had asked, twice, ruined the original thread in the rear deck, and put in bolts that would again rust. The damage is done--maybe they thought they were doing me a favor, but if they wanted to replace the bolts against my request, they should have suggested it, not just done it. I heard that the owners turned the business over to the kids. Looks like after many years I'll be looking for a new service center. Do what the customer asks, or suggest an alternative, but don't do just what YOU want to do. Bad business. $42 for a 5 minute job. Screw job. read more

Tonight was my first time in although I've driven by it for 2 decades. I recall the inspirational messages on their board and gave them a call for a wheel alignment after needing new tires from another local spot. I called around before settling on them because they could get me In immediately. I walked in and was pleasantly surprised at the waiting area. I was just at a "discount tire" place for the last 4 hours which was night and day. At Protech I sat down to clean, comfortable chairs and fresh coffee at 7pm on a Friday when it was 30 below outside. They were quick to do an inspection, give me a recommendation and quote a fair price (about the same as everyone else around but they take first come customers for tire related needs). I didn't want to wait another week for an alignment so these guys were perfect. I watched their express lube techs, who I'm sure have been working hard in filth and muck from the recent snow storm as well as the subzero cold, clean their spaces with a smile and act jovially. I love going here to get my oil change. It's always faster than the dealership. This time, I had a light out in back. I already had the bulb purchased, but hadn't taken the time to figure out how to change it by taking off the inner panel; so they did it for me. :-) Inflated my tires that I neglected during this winter's cold snap. I frequently get my oil changed here. Service is fast and friendly and there's a nice waiting area with complementary beverages and wifi while you wait. I have a 6 cylinder vehicle and have them replace oil (synthetic blend) and filter for $39 with a 8$ coupon. They check my air filter and fluids for no extra charge. At checkout you recieve a complimentary car wash. The last two pairs I had here were a complete rip off. Then completely overcharged me and could not give me an itemized list on what I was paying for. Also, apparently their hourly rates change depending on the job they're doing, which does not make sense to me. The last couple oil changes have been the only thing that has been good. I would not recommend them unless it is just an oil change you need, too expensive. read more

We were on a 7000 mile road trip from Florida to Oregon then back through Minnesota then back to Florida. Driving a 30 foot RV with our car in tow. At the Grand Canyon when we wanted to use the car the power steering had failed. We had it diagnosed in Bend OREGON and the said 2 weeks to even look at it. So I called ProTech and set up a time to drop the car off.. the staff was truly amazing, Brad, Jane, Ryan, and Jeff.. Jeff was the technician assigned to our car, he was so informative on the situation and professional. All said and done the car could only be fixed at the dealership for a safety recall. Jeff made sure the car went to the dealer and negotiated the process to the end. Thanks Jeff and the entire staff at ProTech. I've been a customer of ProTech for more than a few years, so it's unfortunate that I will not be returning for any future oil changes or repairs. I had an oil change completed on October 26th. The technicians did not properly reattach the skid plate (removed to access the drain plug) after completing the oil change. Unfortunately, I found this out while driving 70 miles an hour on the interstate. I took the car back and explained the situation and they replaced the skid plate at no charge to me, as should be expected. Next, I spoke to Cody (a technician) and Jane (the general manager, also Cody's mother) and told them it was fortunate that no other damage was done and that their error could have led to worse damage on the car, or even an accident (if the skid plate had come off completely and struck a tire or another car). There was NO apology. They just patted themselves on the back for fixing what they broke. Next, I asked if they would consider refunding the oil change in question as a show of good faith, considering I had to jack my car up on the side of the interstate in order to fully remove the skid plate and fix their error (as it was stuck under the car and was dragging). Jane, the general manager, chuckled at this and said that she could not refund the oil change, because there was no issue with the service. Apparently, picturing me fixing their technician's error was amusing to her. OK, I said - how about a coupon for a free oil change next time? I told them I liked coming to ProTech but that I was upset at the error and that a gesture like that would go a long way towards making things right. They offered me a $10 off coupon and again insisted that they had done everything they could. Next, I asked to speak to an owner or someone higher up than Jane. She referred me to someone named Ryan. According to Jane's son Cody (a technician), Ryan was a "part owner". That is a lie, it turns out, as Ryan is assistant manager. He toed the same line. The bottom line is that I will not be returning to ProTech with any of my vehicles in the future, because they seem to believe that drawing a line in the sand over a $35 oil change is worth losing all of my future business. Even worse, it was clear from the beginning that they believe it was virtuous of them to repair the damage that they themselves caused, when it fact it's quite literally the least that they could have done. The snarky attitude I received from Jane and Cody just made everything worse. It was clear from the beginning that they cared more about a $35 oil change than making things right and keeping a customer happy. read more

My last two experiences with Pro-Tech have been less than positive. There seems to be a problem with communication. My vehicle repair took longer than anticipated and I was not notified of that. Hence, I had to reschedule appointments. This past winter I had a noise issue. My tires were rotated without asking first (I had just had them rotated where I bought them) and they did not need rotation. Prior to these two experiences, all has been good. Honestly, you will pay a bit more for repairs/services (about $35 per oil change for our van with a coupon), but you WILL save money in the long run because these guys will not try and sell you something you don't need. I worked at Pro-Tech for 4 years while in High School and in vo-tech. (The ONLY reason I quit was to pursue my major) This shop will not screw you, period!!! They preach and practice honesty and ethics at Pro-Tech every single day! I can tell you from experience that they won't replace ANYTHING if your car doesn't need it! The staff is friendly and helpful, from the guy who changes your oil, all the way up to Tim Murphy, the President. Their techs are ASE certified and are re-certified every 4 years, so you know they are masters of their craft. Had my sons car their for an alignment at the end of December of 2019. Within 3 months, 3 of the 4 lug nut broke off the front left. This is a huge safety issue. They don't use a torque wrench to put lug nuts back to spec, they use the impact torque stick and those things over tighten. I won't be bring anything back to them. I called and talked to a customer service rep and they said a manager would call back and they never did. You never use a impact to torque lug nuts back on, especially when the spec is only 80 lbs. I'm afraid of whats going to happen when the lug nuts have to be removed from the right front side. read more
