A copy of the letter being sent to this stores manager.. I am writing to you today to share my experience of your Tires Plus location. On Saturday, February 8, 2025, I brought my car into your Tires Plus because I had slid into a curb that morning which caused my tires to have a hum and to make more noise when veering right. Something was wrong and I was fairly certain I had messed up my bearing. I also needed new tires and asked to have them installed. I explained this to Levi at your Tires Plus and my car was immediately taken into the garage without it being test driven. After an hour, Levi informed me that the new tire installation had taken care of the humming issues and there was nothing wrong with the bearings. I was skeptical but knew that my old tires were in pretty bad shape, so it was plausible. My car was taken from the garage and immediately parked. After driving my car for 5 minutes, I returned to your Tires Plus as the issue was very obviously not fixed. I asked Levi to take my car for a test drive and you get the car up to 40mph, he could not miss the issue. He returned after driving my car for a total of 3 minutes (from ignition on to ignition off). He told me that the humming I was hearing was just the new tires and the issue with turning slightly right was because of a bit of snow packed on the tire. I left again. I returned a 3rd time because there was a very obvious issue that he missed because he failed to actually test drive the car like I asked. At this point, it was later in the day and nobody was around to look at my car. I made an appointment for my FOURTH visit for 7am on Tuesday, February 11. 2025. When I arrived at 7:05am, I was told there would not be anyone to look at my car until at least 7:30am. For my appointment, I requested that someone take a test drive with me so I would be sure that the problem was noticed. Finally, at 8am, the female at the front counter (with tattoos and whom I'll call "Mary" even thought it is not her name) informed me that the tech, whom I've never had an interaction with, did not feel comfortable going on a test drive with me. Unbelievable. Mary said that he would take the car and test it. I specifically told her to have the tech get up to at least 40mph. The tech drove my car for 4 minutes (from ignition on to off) and brought my car into the garage. After 20 minutes, Mary started going over an inspection checklist talking about washer fluid. She then says that there is a "little bit of play" in the wheel bearing and would I like to schedule an appointment to get that installed. I asked her if the tech was sure that it was the problem, because I was told previously by Levi that it was NOT a problem, or was he just guessing because he had not taken the car for a test drive like I asked. She didn't know and I told her that I'm going to take my car somewhere else. I was then told that the vehicle inspection was $10. I refused to pay $10 for an " inspection" I did not ask for. This was an issue from a previous visit. After 15 minutes, they gave me my key. I immediately went to the Tires Plus on 42 in Burnsville. I explained the issues and the Master Technician took my car for a real test drive and into the shop. He came out and explained exactly how the bearing casing was bent, how it was causing the noises that I was hearing, and that my rim was also very slightly bent. In a roundabout way, without putting down another store, he made it clear that the issue was very obvious and should not have been missed. This is the service expected from a Tires Plus store. The part was ordered and my car was fixed in less time at the Savage store than I spent over 4 visits at yours. My experience at your Tires Plus did not meet even the very basics of service that the average person would and should expect. Having to make 4 trips to your store and still not having the issue addressed or even adequately looked into. Failure to inspect the rim, which was bent, during the installation of new tires, after stating that I had hit a curb and was having issues. Failure to inspect and notice a bent wheel bearing casing after specifically mentioning that it may be the reason for the issues. Tire pressures after leaving the store after a new tire installation were not acceptable (38, 37, 37, 34). Gaslighting as to the reason for the humming and noise when turning, saying it was snow packed in the tread. Attempting to charge me for a service that I had not requested and refusing to give me my keys for 15 minutes. Not providing me a receipt or estimate for services performed. Telling me that someone who had never met me was not comfortable driving in a car with me. read more

Been visiting here for a long time! Like My favorite store "team member" called to follow up with me. Today. Thank you. Apple Valley! Satisfied customers do keep coming back! As recommended, have a contract for road hazard on the tires. Just last week had another a road hazard. Prefer the Apple Valley location, pass by there all the time. Yes, visit many South Metro Tires Plus shops... Thank you all are doing their best! Visited in past Lakeville, Eagan, East and West Burnsville, Savage, Richfield as well as Apple Valley, my favorite. I drove over a nail and had an unexpected flat tire. I brought my tire into Tires Plus to see if it could be repaired. They were clearly busy but very courteous and happy to help. They came to get the tire out of my trunk and noticed my spare was low on air. He offered to add air to that tire so I drove around. The gentleman helping me then asked if I wanted all tire pressures checked and I said 'sure'. I drove home and got a call 2 hours later that indicated they couldn't fix my tire because the nail was too close to the side but overall, it was a great experience. read more

I went in for a tire balance appointment on one of my front tires. It took 45 minutes for the tire balance, and resulted in wobbly, hydroplane-like driving. It took another 45 minutes for Tires Plus to move the problematic tire to the rear. The wobbliness persisted. I could not drive over 45 mph without feeling extremely unsafe. It turns out that the Tires Plus employee used a floor jack and lifted from the lateral link bars instead of the side of the car. Both lateral link bars were bent, bending my wheels and rendering my car unsafe to drive. Instead of recognizing the mistake, TiresPlus defended themselves by telling me I needed four brand new tires. I did not need new tires. No credit or apology was given by Tires Plus. Tires Plus tried to take advantage of me, damaged parts of my car, and left me with an unsafe vehicle to drive. read more

Took my car in for some brake work, which was no big deal. Had them tune up the car as well, after discovering I needed new calipers I agreed to said price. After picking my car up I drove home and the next day prepared to leave for my job as a medical courier. My cruise control didn't work which was weird since it worked before I brought my car in, I pulled over and just happen to think let's look under the hood. There I found my air filter housing not seated correctly or even secured, but my mass airflow sensor was unplugged and hanging in the air filter housing, as well as another hose disconnected. If you have a complaint contact the attorney generals office please, as they will help you out complaint form is online Had my tires Lifetime warranty aligned rotated @ balanced drove it & started shaking on CTY RD 46 then stalled in Rush hour traffic, called AAA towed it to my trusted professional mechanic who double checked their work and found 10 bolts loose , 4 of which were on the drivers side. I am lucky I didn't have a tragic accident! I also told them I only wanted the tire service, they said I needed an oil change as there was very little oil in the car, I said absolutely no other services. Tires Plus clearly they drained the oil out of my car so they forced an oil charge that was unauthorized so they can generate unneeded services with compensation Not done yet ....they also had "urgent" recommended services that totaled $587.80 of which NON were legit as my trusted mechanic had handled it They are rip off artists, incompetent, and bold face liars. This is the worst tire shop I have ever been to. Tried to get my tire replaced and waited for hours only to be denied. Went a separate time to get a tire patched or new tire for my truck. I told them I would take a new tire if it wasn't able to patch. Instead they patched it and charged me 40$ only for it to leak the very next day. Terrible management and terrible company. I have been to this location more than once and to be honest can't remember anything bad from my previous visits. Today though I really feel like they went above and beyond in finding ways for me to be able to afford all 4 new tires after a screw punctured one and the tread was low on two others. I had just enough to pay for it all and Gabe I think his name is, found a way to knock 60$ off so I wouldn't be completely wiped out for cash. They were all really friendly with my daughter and the 3 year old I nanny and were incredibly busy fielding calls and customers in store and kept their cool and professional demeanor about them. I am not one to typically go for corporate places for stuff like this but the price quote was almost half of another places quote and even still they helped me out. I definitely recommend them and will for sure be back, just hopefully not anytime soon. read more

People beware!!! There is something shady going on at the Tires Plus in Apple Valley, MN. We brought our vehicle in to replace stripped lug nuts on a single tire. There was nothing wrong with our car except needing to have the lug nuts put on. We have a regular mechanic we've used for 16 years but it didn't make sense to make an appt with him and wait (he's popular and busy) when lug nuts are simple to swap out and Tires Plus was right down the road from our house. After leaving our car with Tires Plus to get the lug nuts swapped out (one was stripped and the other one broken) my husband later gets a call that something is wrong with our breaks also and needs replacing. We were quoted $1100 to fix and so we agreed to the repair. When my husband went to pick up the vehicle that day they charged him $2400 instead of the $1100 we were quoted and gave a song and dance about the cost being for two parts not one even though they never said that on the phone when giving the original quote, which we both listened to. My husband paid just to be done with them and as he drove away from Tires Plus his car had a strong burning rubber smell and it was dragging as if he was riding the emergency break but the emergency break wasn't engaged. He returned to Tires Plus to report the problem and they said they'd look at the car again to see why it wasn't functioning properly. After examining the car again they claimed there were more issues and to fix it would be $700 so my husband said he wasn't paying for anymore repairs. They refused to fix what they broke so my husband said to give him the car back. The Tires Plus guy then proceeds to say "but I already ordered the part" even though my husband never authorized them to order anything so my husband told him no and ordered the guy to make sure the car was back together so he could pick it up. The guy had the nerve to then say "if you drive the car away from Tires Plus and something happens it's your fault not ours." When my husband picked up the car the bald guy at the counter refused to give him a report, which he called a ticket, that showed the additional information about the car being returned and what they claimed the repairs needed to be and the cost, etc... He just handed him the keys to his car. He said he'd have to talk to Nick the next day. Once we had the car back we called our regular mechanic who had us bring the car to him and he said Tires Plus has a reputation for this type of scam. You bring your car in for something simple and suddenly there are thousands of dollars in issues. I looked at other reviews online (something we should have done beforehand but didn't think it was warranted for something as simple as swapping out lug nuts) and found other people have complained of similar issues. Seeing that this is something they regularly do to customers we will be pursuing this issue legally. Please read all reviews on Apple Valley Tires Plus before bringing your car there. Our perfectly fine working vehicle cannot currently be driven after taking it in there for a simple lug nut replacement and now we have to pay more to fix what they broke. read more

They sold me a tire and in less than a week that same tire went flat. Zero discount applied to the replacement tire, paid full price again. Set up an appointment which was confirmed by email, only to be called and told they were fully booked. Waited 2 more days to get my tire fixed at full cost. Will never go back here again. This is my second review because they haven't posted my first. I was given a card for a free oil change for previous poor service. I had it awhile as I wasn't sure I should go back. I called to make sure they would still honor it and was able to make an appointment. When I arrived and gave the coupon I told them I expected to pay extra for semi synthetic oil. I was told the oil change would cost me 50.00 dollars. That was a slap in the face to me. I felt like they were taking advantage of me again. I left and will never go back! I agree with the all the other recent negative reviews. Don't waste your time and hard earned money here. They refused to rotate my tires which they said were 3 and 4 tread depth (bald is 2) unless I purchased some new tires. Also these 65k tires only had 42k miles. They also wanted to replace transmission and power steering hoses for $955 because of leakage even though my garage floor is spotless. I walked in the door just to have them rotate my tires according to tire purchase contract and this is how they'll treat you unless you fork over more money. read more

Do NOT go to this place, please spend your hard earned money somewhere reputable. I brought my car in for new brakes, an oil change, an alignment, and a few other small things. I picked up my car, was given the keys, and drove, not even a block, before my check engine light came on, returned to the store where they said they would "fix the light," with no explanation of why it was on. I get back in my car, and guess what's on again? I, again, return to the store and they decide to tell me that the check engine light was on when I dropped it off. It was NOT on, and if it had been why didnt they tell me that the first time I asked about the light? The manager and mechanic continued to argue with me and talk down to me. I called a male friend, who talked to the manager and all of a sudden they were fixing what they messed up for free. Sexist at all? When I picked up my car, for the third time, the manager continued to argue with me, I told him not to worry as I would be writing reviews and contacting corporate. He responded with, "but I fixed your problem!" The manager continued to follow me out of the store and yell at me in the parking lot, real awesome customer service there!!! Please save your time and money, especially if you are female and going alone. Find someplace reputable and dont make my mistake. **Update** the above happened in May. My check engine light continues to be on and coincidentally enough my air conditioning went out within a week of them working on my car. NEVER EVER again. I am having to put more money into my car fixing the issues they made, on top of the $900 bill. I will NOT recommend this place and make sure everyone is aware of it. read more

Hit or miss with the customer service here. Somedays you get fantastic people and some days you get horrible staff. Typically the front desk people are professional and courteous, but a few times the staff in the garage will come and talk to you and it's either unintelligible, or seem very confrontational when you ask them to clarify what they were explaining as you didn't quite understand them. I had a horrible experience at this location. When I lived in Blaine I got great service and trusted the work. I moved to apple valley and visited this location for a leak in my tire. They were taking the tire off and broke my tire pressure gage and it costed me $120 to fix it.( I had to replace another pressure gage later in another tire becuase of corrosion, and another place only charged me $80 for the newer model of gage. So I was totally ripped off here ) I also needed and oil change and with a tire patch my bill came close to $200 and took over 2 hours for them to fix it which seems ridiculous. I got in my car and now not only was my tire pressure gage light still on but so was my check engine light. I drove a little bit thinking it maybe just need a mile or two to reset. I drove back to tires plus ( which by the way is worked by a punch of greasy looking kids.) I told him my light is not turning off. He said well you would need to hook it up their machine to turn off the light. SERIOUSLY! I just paid you $200 and sat here for 2 hours and you didn't reset my lights! How is that not included. I'm suppose to just drive around with my engine light on constantly! He very reluctantly reset my lights. Horrible service and a they will rip you off! I'm again stunned by the other reviews here. Great service, guys were clean and attentive. They kept me up to date on delays (I went on a Saturday). Tires replaced, oil changed. Even though they were behind, they still checked everything. Tpms sensons made in China are less expensive, but they're also garbage. Someone who ran a shop should know this (referring to a previous review). Also, they fixed my brakeline last month. Customer beware: I went in for a simple oil change with my appointment set for 9:30am. I left to go run some errands while my oil change was being done and got a phone call from Tires Plus saying that my air filter was bad and needed to be replaced. I responded that I did not have time to do that today because I was heading out of town for the weekend and told him I would have to make another appointment later in the week to get the air filter done. The tires plus representative then responded to me by saying "no, well, it would actually be much easier for us to just take care of it now". Feeling pressured and manipulated into this service I gave them the go ahead. About another 20 minutes later they called me again to say they had found another problem with my tire pressure and that I needed all new tires. I responded by saying "okay I am not going to have gone to do that today and I will most likely get my tires elsewhere." The typical response of a salesman, he responded by saying "Again it is easier for us to just do it now and I can match the price of anywhere else and give you an additional 10% off if we can do it today." I told him I would have to call him back about the tires and instead I just came into the store to discuss the issues with my car. Surprisingly, I came into the store with my tires already off of my car and continued to be bullied and pressured into getting all new tires. After all of that, it took over 3 hours to get my car back and I did not get the extra 10% off. Then when I came back I realized they had been selling to at least four other (female) customers that they also needed all new tires. This place is a complete scam and from my experience is targeting female customers into buying additional services that are not needed and not adhering to customers stated wants and needs by using manipulating tactics to scam people. I will definitely not be back at any Tires Plus store again and would strongly advise anyone who values an honest mechanic and customer service take your business elsewhere. read more

I went to Tire Plus last month to see if they can fix my front axle which seems to have metal scraping against each other whenever I turned the car to the left or right. I was told that I needed to replace the hub cap and ball joints, plus the entire fix would cost nearly $1000. My dad and I went to our own garage to see if we could find the problem. To our surprise it was actually just a metal piece that was scraping together, the part was only $12, and the fix only took less than an hour. My dad says this was not the first time Tire Plus tried to scam him. Never come here unless you want to throw away your money. read more

Weird, usually I get the horrible experiences in places; not this time. I've been in here several times and the guys have been real helpful, professional every time. Two times stand out; The first is when I had just done my own oil and found the oil plug gasket was crap and leaking. I bought new ones at the OReillys down the street and was looking for a place that would just put the gasket in for a few bucks. I went into this place and ended up talking to the manager. He said he could put it on the rack and do it. When I offered him some scratch for it, he wouldn't take it. The second time was when I had just done my back brakes and they were shuddering. I never had this problem until I started doing things new-school and not turning them when I buy them new. ALWAYS turn drums when you buy them, REGARDLESS of what anyone says, because that's what ultimately solved the problem. Anyway, I was talking to every mechanic in AV, trying to figure out why new brakes would be shuddering and I decided to go into this TP to get a free brake inspection. They got me in right away, checked everything out and said I'd done nothing wrong and maybe it was just the drums. Mickey I believe was the person I talked to the most. He was familiar with vans and when he was looking at it he came out and talked to me about the whole situation. The shoes I'd put on didn't have tapers on the edges of the contact surfaces so he offered to go in and grind them in. He did so and it resulted in a lessening of the shudder, which ultimately led me to think everyone who told me new drums didn't need to be turned was wrong, and they were. Anyhoo, Mickey did all this for free. They spent a lot of time with me. I don't know, I've almost always had great experiences with Tires Plus in every branch, as well as mechanics in general. My parents were both stock car drivers, so maybe it helps to go in knowing the jargon, the problems and an idea of the fixes in advance. Had a fair experience with a break job. Service tech found some leaking in transmission lines that were unknown to me so I agreed to have it fixed adding a lot to the bill. It was more than I budgeted for so I applied for and was accepted for the Tires Plus credit card. I was anticipating purchasing tires soon anyway. I paid off the card in two payments so I was prepared to purchase the tires. In the mean time I was hoping to use Tires Plus as my go to car service center. Last week my wife stopped in because of a low tire alert on one of the tires I planned to replace. She just needed to get it topped off as a short term solution. She reminded them that we had the tires rotated when we did the break job and we had low pressure alerts twice since then so we knew we needed tires soon. He reluctantly agreed to fill the tire but was condescending and rude. It is easy fall back on company policy for handling service requests but it was a great opportunity to demonstrate a can do attitude and cement a long term relationship. I will not be purchasing my tires at Tires Plus and I will continue to search for a service center that is accommodating even though it isn't billable. That is my idea of good service. read more

Great service, good prices (better than the big box store across the street). Knowledgeable mature employees (no punk kids). I bought 3 tires last week for 2 different cars. They did not try to sell me anything I did not need, and told me how much longer I could wait to take care of some things I was concerned about. I would rate them higher, except for Tires Plus headquarters, who immediately grabs your phone number, and SPAMS you with hang-up calls. Yet again Tires Plus Apple Valley tried to rip me off. Asked for the free brake inspection, was told that the rear brakes needed replacement, including new brake drums. This is for the first brake job with less than 60,000 mi. Advertised $89 came to $609. Really? Took it to Dick's in Apple Valley and they turned the drums and did the job for $100's less. read more

These guys do fantastic work. I got wheels here and, at the time, I could not afford the entire price and the manager Nate Cornell moved a few things around to make it possible for me to leave with them that day. I only go here for my oil changes and other car needs. I love the people and the service. There hourly rate is a bit high, but it is definately worth it because they make sure you, as the customer, leaves happy. read more

Been going here for years. Have had many oil changes, purchased tires and more. Took my car in for a regular oil change. My car takes an extra quart. I always buy a quart of special engine additive to use in place of the extra quart of oil. Today I'm told that using it is against company policy. I told them I've done it for years and never had a problem before. They look back in their records and inform me that for at least the last 6 changes they always charged me for the extra quart of oil (I'm very trusting and never looked at the receipt-my bad) and there was no mention of adding the quart of additive I brought to them. But my $15 quart of engine treatment was removed from my vehicle each time as if they had used it. What?????? So, they cheated me out of $15 x how many oil changes and charged me for the oil anyway??? Incredible. Now I'm on my way to pick up my vehicle which takes 4 hours to do an oil change and tire rotation and balance. Really????? read more

Rotors for a P205R15 50series were 90 bucks a rotor? really. NAPA or O,Rielly chargers 48.50 per rotor! But Tires Plus won't put on customer purchased parts! DO NOT USE TIRES PLUS. I will never go to Tires Plus again. I was screwed over at the Savage one and was given three free oil changes as a band aid. I decided to go to Apple Valley and get it done there. I scheduled an appointment for 6:00 pm on 7/29/2015. I let them know it was for a 1996 Chevy Silverado, ensuring they knew it was a truck, not a car, so would need a larger lift. My fiance decided to bring the truck for me so I could shower and take a nap after a long day at work. He got there only to be told they couldn't do the oil change because they were doing something with a van and only had one lift large enough to hold my truck, which this van was on. They knew we were coming. They knew we had an appointment. They knew I had a large truck. Yet they dragged this guy on forever.So my fiance said he would go to Menards, get some stuff, and be back in an hour. They said they should be done by then and would get the truck done no later than 8 pm. We had an appointment in the city at 9 pm so it was important we leave our house at 8:30 pm. Guess what? He came back in an hour and they weren't done. Said it would be at least another hour. The only thing they offered was for him to leave the truck there overnight, for a flipping oil change, and they would get it done when they had a chance. Or to reschedule the appointment for Friday, two days later. Not an option. Hauling hay in the morning, working in the evening. We do not need free oil changes. My fiance and I both know how to change oil. We figured eh, why not give them another shot. Maybe our first experience was a fluke. Plus it frees up some time and money for us to do other things. We were wrong. We would rather pay and take up our own time to get this done than waste our time at another Tires Plus. read more

My last couple of oil changes at Tires Plus were $22.49, so I didn't even ask how much the oil change would be today. So I went into shock when the man said $40. When I commented about the price this snippy guy says that they just had a 15% off coupon but I missed it. Well, they'll be missing me because I'll never go back there again. Horrific service. I replaced 8 tires for 2 cars this past winter (about $2K). 6 months later June) one of the tires had a slow leak, so they charged me $44 to supposedly seal it. It's now Sep and same tire went flat, they wanted another $44 to do it again. They refused to honor manufactures warranty because I didn't buy their extended road hazard. Stay away and go to Pro Tech down Cedar instead. They are cheaper and nicer....at ProTech, a customer was bringing them cookies when I stopped there because they did such a nice job. I doubt This Tires Plus got anything like that from their customers....they would have to stop hosing their customer base for that to be a possibility. read more

Ridiculously SLOW!! I have a company car and can go almost anywhere for maintenance. I had a SCHEDULED appointment for an oil change and it took 2 hours!! There was only 1 other person in the waiting area and they were in and out within 30 minutes leaving me alone. They had no answers as to why it took to long. They definitely lost my business read more

I've been in to the Apple Valley location several time since they are close to where I live. Each time they have been great to work with. The front store person named Ryan is not only knowledgeable about all cars but always has a smile on his face. Just be sure to make an appointment as they are usually pretty busy. read more

A long time and another lifetime ago, I managed a Tires Plus. Let me tell you how it was then. We all wore white shirts and ties. That's right. We didn't look like grease monkeys. We looked like businessmen. Tom Gegax was the CEO. His mission was to turn his Tires Plus into a special kind of auto retailer. The inside was decorated very nicely. The customer service experience was his main focus. He didn't want us to measure up against Firestone or Goodyear. He wanted us to be measured up against Target. That's how important customer service was to hiim. You walk into the store and you would be greeted by a smile and a handshake. Yes. That was a requirement. Then after you left the store, you would get a call to ask about your experience. If the manager didn't get a 95% rating or better, they'd lose out on some bonuses. So needless to say, we all had our game faces on with every customer. Well boys and girls, that's not how it is today. You walk into the TP and it's a hole in a wall. The guys have grease all over their shirts, they are dirty, and they barely even smile when you walk in. That was my experience at TP in Apple Valley. On top of that, I was arguing with a tech about replacing my valves (TPMS). I just had them replaced litterally 2 months ago when I changed over my summer tires. OH...but everytime you dismount, you have to replace them. Ahhh....no you don't. I'm not going to accuse them of trying to rip me off. But the service was terrible and the environment reminded me that I am in a 'Shop'. I would recommend Discount Tire accross town. They are a lot cleaner. But unfortunately, they don't do oil changes. read more
