Honest and an excellent value - this is exactly what you want in a mechanic. I was referred to Inline X Automotive by a person who works at my Honda dealership - when your dealer recommends a mechanic they have to be good. I stopped by and spoke to Nhia -always nice to speak with the owner right away - I was given a quick tour of his shop - very clean and very organized - always a good sign they will do quality work when they take the time to clean up after work. Nhia and I spoke about the work which needed to be done on my 2003 Honda Element. I wanted to replace all of the struts and several worn out suspension items as well as get current with the 120K service which included adjusting the valves. Nhia gave me a quote - which was a substantial savings over the dealer - Nhia uses Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts whenever possible. While doing the valve service Nhia noticed the oil sending unit was weeping (read as small oil leak) he called and told me that since he was already deep into the engine the replacement would simply be the cost of the part. Perfect! He took the time to call me and give me the option to fix something that would be a problem down the road -saving me hundreds of dollars. When I picked up the Element that evening everything was perfect. Everything was done right the first time and at a significant savings. One other point - which is important to me personally - when I picked up the car his child sitting in the office area doing his homework. Then it hit me - the money I was paying Inline X Automotive didn't go to line the deep pockets of the Luther, Walser or Morries family - my dollars went to support Nhia and his family. This point is important to me. I get great service at a great value while at the same time I can support a small business owner who is working hard to provide for his family and chasing his dream of owning a business. I took a number of his cards and passed them along to friends. I am able to keep my Honda Element running flawlessly for another 120,000 miles with the help of Inline X Automotive. This place is great! I had a problem with my brakes and my stepdad recommended it. I work nights, so I had to do an afternoon appointment. He knew right away that there was probably an underlying cause to how my brakes got shredded as badly as they were and even knew the couple of issues that usually cause it-but was honest about not being able to know which it was until he replaced the shredded bits (shoes, wheel cylinder, and a drum). He actually stayed late to finish the repairs and was willing to stay later to fix the underlying problem (broken brake hose). Only $320 for parts plus labor on that first visit, and that was with him having to order a part he didn't have in his shop. I scheduled a second visit to fix the hose since it was late, and then had to reschedule early the next day (for later that afternoon) because I had forgotten about another appointment. They got back to me quickly (I left a voicemail) and were very nice about switching it on short notice. He didn't even charge me for labor on the hose because he said it was quick to get to. About $340 for both visits all together, and a lot of money saved from brakes that would have been reshredded in a couple of months if he hadn't known about the underlying (and cheap to fix) problem. Don't be thrown off if you get voicemail (there are only a few people there and he is often in the shop and I think his wife works somewhere else and picks up the kids so she's not always in the office). This place is well worth it, and they're timely about calling you back. Great customer service, great price and impressive knowledge of cars. BIG THUMBS UP! : I called "Inline X Automotive" in Hopkins, to get an estimate on a alternator/installation..they were quick to the point and let me know they would check it out to make certain it was the alternator before hand. I needed an oil change too and had them add that to the bill. Walked out paying a few dollars less than the estimate..even WITH the oil change. These people are quite professional and friendly. I choose them because of the reasonable estimate and friendly demeanor on the phone, plus they had all 5-stars on their YELP reviews. There were 3 other shops quoting similar $ as "Inline X Automotive". But they didn't measure up to "Inline X Automotive's" courtesy, professionalism and friendliness. I won't go to anyone else again. It's 100% Inline X Automotive from now on! The ones I did NOT GO TO.... The other places I called ...I was given ridiculous high quotes ... or no quote at all--refusing to give me a estimate unless I came down there. Sears was worse--while he said, magnanimously, that he'd give me a special deal for $364-- !..my new dutch uncle then ordered me in a voice of authority to "drive it down here right now and I can look it over..blah blah... Nghia's Auto Service Inc (2525 42nd Ave mpls, MN 5541) they quoted me $500.!!. at least double the price I was hearing from other shops. KURTH'S quoted me $400!!! If I couldn't go to "Inline X Automotive"... i'd go to John's Auto-parts. They had a real good estimate too, but the conversation left me a tiny bit concerned about how good they are. When I started my nightmarish voyage of getting fix-it quotes for my Volvo v40, everyone quoted well into the $1000+ range. Luckily, my husband persisted, and found InlineX on craigslist. This is when the sun started to shine again, and birds started chirping - Not only was the quote about half of the competition's, the owner new exactly why my fairly-new timing belt was creating the equivalent of the BP oil spill in my driveway - My car required a special part...A part that NO ONE else had mentioned! A part that had not been replaced at the last timing belt change out, 1 that had to be supplied by Volvo.. I can't help but think that we could have spent over $1000 (with a competitor) and not had the issue resolved, had it not been for InlineX's superior knowledge of my vehicle! Not only did he solve my car's major problem, I had an oil change and transmission flush, all for half of what other's had quoted!!! They stayed open late to finish my car so I'd have it for work the next day! I was so impressed with this shop's professionalism, prices, and knowledge that I will be telling everyone to go there. After hitting destroyed semi tire at highway speed, I was not completely surprised to hear horrific metal scrapping noises coming from under the car the next time I pulled out of the driveway. I snapped a few pics of the broken part with my phone and sent it to my mechanic/dad, who mentioned that the piece was either: 1. Harmless or 2. About to slice open my fuel line and cause a dramatic explosion. Since my dad lives more than 1 1/2 hours away, to Yelp I went to find a very, very local mechanic. Inline X had some good reviews and were helpful on the phone, so I drove over *extremely* slowly (to avoid an exploding car). The waiting room was clean, the staff nice and the appointment on time. They looked at my car and let me know the piece was (hooray!) harmless, and that they could remove it if I would like. Five minutes later they handed me back my keys and let me know there was no charge. Wow! Honesty and good customer service? Dad will be happy I found a local shop when he can't be there to help. read more

They're authentic, genuine, and down to earth. You want average? Go to a regular dealership. You want below average? Go to a used car lot or a vikings game. You want a consistent winner? Go here. Excellent service and advice. Great friendly warm environment. You want a warm couch and fireside pumpkin spiced latté? Go to a dealership that overcharges by 200% and let them blow smoke up your ass about some work you most likely don't need. This is the best place to take your car! Great customer service, honest, friendly, excellent prices. Initially took my Honda Civic Hybrid to Inline X - Nhia diagnosed the problem and suggested I take it to the dealer, thinking it was still under warranty. Not a good experience with the dealer (not under warranty and they charged me to tell me exactly what I said Nhia had already told me). Gave Inline X the quote from them and they came in at $500 less -- I would have gladly paid them the same as the dealer had quoted because Inline's customer service is so much better! read more

very knowledge with cars, cheap labor and awesome customer service, i go there regular now to do oil change and other maintenance check up now. But must call ahead of time to schedule due to he is a busy man. i recommend everyone to this shop. he works on regular cars and also installing aftermarket parts for street race car. he also owns his own beautiful customize personally by himself (Honda Prelude). Inline x automotive exceeded our expectations!. I am handicapped and our headlight went out. I could not get the bulb out, so wife took car and the new bulb she had purchased somewhere else to the Hopkins Auto Mall. One place wanted $41.00 for this simple procedure, so she went next door to Inline X and Nhia said sure he would put our new bulb in - NO CHARGE. Wouldn't even take the $10.00 she offered.
