Pretty easy to make an appointment but it is just a request so make sure they confirm it before you just show up. I usually come here for oil changes and they are great. I recently had to get my blend door actuator fixed and I was very surprised the price was so much lower than other places and they did an amazing job! Also love the coupons they always have available too. Love saving money! Definitely recommend, they usually are great with service here too! Absolute nightmare to deal with, my experience here was genuinely so bad it made me anxious to take my car in ANYWHERE. I went there to have my oil changed because I had a free coupon for it and get my tire pressure sensors replaced, and it took them a week and a half to do the job, they charged me top dollar for it, and they didn't even clear the alert on my car. Not only that, the manager told me after the fact that my car didn't even need an oil change, and had to give me a refund and new coupon. The gesture to give me a new coupon was noted, and it's better than nothing, but the tire sensor situation just made me never want to return here for anything, I called and said that the sensor is still on, and they said I will need to drive on it a bit for it to turn off, it didn't, it's been months. How am I supposed to trust a business after that. Refunds, coupons, free, whatever, there's no way I'd ever return here. I'd hands down rather spend money elsewhere than use a free oil change coupon here in the future, purely out of the assurance that I can trust the establishment. read more

I brought my car in for service and instead of being transparent about a failing transmission (which any trained tech should've noticed), they pushed me to buy new tires and ignored the bigger issue. A month later, the transmission died completely--leaving me with a car that wasn't worth fixing. Feels like they saw a young guy come in and wanted to take advantage. I had recently replaced parts like the AC compressor and tires--money down the drain. And guess what they wanted, 6k. Feels like they knew the car was on its last leg but chose to upsell instead of being honest. I will never do business with Midas again, and I don't recommend them to anyone who values real diagnostics and transparency. I should of knew something was up by myself because my cars transmission was slipping before that if I recall, but I decided to trust the techs expertise and paid the price for it. On 08/26/23 I was having a Battery installed at Batteries Plus Appley Valley it was a replacement Battery. The young man was taking longer than usual to install. I could see where he had stripped the screw on the negative on and the positive one. This is where my Angel stepped in from Midas (Apple Valley) Gavin was kind enough to step over and look at my car ( I couldn't even drive my car car 20 feet for him to look at. This young man came over to look at the battery and noticed right away what was wrong on a brand new battery. He replaced both screws to connect to both positive and negative. Gavin saved my day as the Tires Plus stated there was nothing they could do advised me to pay the cost and then send the bill to the Manager of the store to request reimbursement. I cane to get an oil change on my 2017 Traverse and was told I didn't need full synthetic and was told the conventional oil was okay to put in it. I came and picked up my vehicle and the manager of the company waited on me and asked why I didn't get full synthetic as that's recommended as their conventional oil has not been researched enough to compare to full synthetic. I told him his staff made the recommendation and I said that his staff should be educated and the manager of all people stated he is not responsible for his staff and his staffs incompetence to read the material in the computer for vehicles they service. I said yes you are because your the manager. Poor customer service at the very least. read more

I brought my car in, as I regretfully have ever since the day I bought this car, to the Apple Valley Midas on Cedar. I knew I was having major brake issues at this time (despite the fact I had brake work done just months earlier) so I brought it in to basically get a complete overhaul on the brakes. They seemed to have been complete nicely, albeit for an expensive charge, until all the sensor lights started coming on. I got the sensors checked quick with my local mechanic and he understandably sent me back to the Apple Valley Midas to see what they did to trip multiple sensors. When I told Midas of the issue, and when it began (within a few hundred miles of having the brakes redone), they simply asked, "ummm is your car still under warranty?" followed by, "it'll be another $120 to complete a systems check." All for a problem that didn't exist before they redid my brakes. Before this brake issue began I had brought my car into the same Midas for what I thought were brake issues. At that time they had told me that my rotors needed to be ground down and resurfaced. Okay, sounds good to me, you guys are the mechanics. Within 4 months, the brakes were so warped and ground that I needed new pads, rotors, and drums. A problem that surely could have been prevented with some better advice and simple foreword thinking - preventative maintenance. Lastly, I went into the Apple Valley Midas for a routine oil change about a year ago now. I don't get my tires at Midas since I get a much better price elsewhere. I trust this other business with my life considering how honest they've always been with me. Midas told me at that time that I need new tires immediately, which I knew to be a lie. I went straight to my favorite local tire shop immediately after leaving Midas to get a second opinion on my tires - they told me that Midas flat lied to me, that not only do my tires look fine, but should be good for another some thousand miles. Those very same tires are still on my car some thousand miles later now. I can't trust a place that has zero accountability and seemingly causes more problems than they fix. A place that tries to milk the customer for money. I will not be going back there ever, and neither will any of my local family members or friends. In my experience, and that of my father who brought all of his vehicles there for many years, they have more recently become an overpriced and untrustworthy business. read more

We will never bring our vehicle to Midas Apple Valley ever again. My daughter and I took my car to Midas and carried in my flat tire asking for a patch but it wasn't patchable so sales guy offered to sell me four new tires. I agreed. I told the sales guy that I couldn't stick around while they put tires on because I had to pick up my youngest kid up from school soon so he offered us a ride home. Awesome! We sat and waited an hour for the ride home and no one gave us one and when I asked about it I was told no one was available yet so I told him we were going to take my car back home before they put the tires on so we could get my daughters to car and drive back to Midas and drop off my car so they could do the tires. He said ok and gave me my car keys back. Then when we came back and dropped my car off to get the new tires on I was told they'd be ready before end of day. I later get a call at the end of the day telling me one of the new tires was defective and couldn't be aligned so he had to get another new tire which would take an hour and he promised it would be ready right away the next morning. At 11 am the next day I didn't hear anything from him so my husband called. They claimed to be working on the car and that it would be ready no later than noon. My husband drove over to pick it up at noon and they hadn't even started on it yet. When my husband told the guy at the desk that they promised it would be ready no later than noon the guy responds "I don't like your attitude" and walked away. Um... I think anyone would have a bad attitude when the employees keep giving the customer the run around about their vehicle. Now I know that there was never any defect with the new tire that prevented alignment, they were just either lazy or too behind with other clients and not wanting to be honest about it because they knew I'd go elsewhere. Never going to this place gain. Rude and shady business practices. read more

After having some brake trouble on our 2012 Town and Country, we drove it up from Lakeville to have it checked out. This was the first time I'd ever considered going to a Midas. I didn't really have an opinion one way or the other. They called back later that day and told us our rear driver side caliper was completely seized up and would need replacing (Along with the rear rotors and brake pads.) to the tune of 980 dollars. For 1200 they'd fix that and do the required work on the front brakes too. I asked if there was anything they could do to save the caliper like replacing the pins or rebuilding it and was told that the piston was completely seized up and there was nothing to be done other than installing a new one. Their quote seemed pretty high to me after having looked at the average cost of that repair for our vehicle online, so we decided to get a "second opinion." The place we called stated for that same repair (minus the front brake option) would run 630 dollars. Obviously we decided to save the 350 dollars. After driving the van to the place we got the second opinion from, we received a call from them saying that not only do we NOT need a new caliper, but the work on the back driver caliper with front and rear brakes could be done for 700 dollars. They said the piston was fine, and that it was only immobile because of an accumulation of rust and it could be fixed with some new hardware and a run through the bead blaster. The guys that took a look at it at Midas either flat out lied and said we needed a new part just to milk us, or didn't know what they were doing when they took it off to diagnose it. Either way, I feel like they can't be trusted, and it's not a place I'd ever take any of my vehicles back to. **edit after owner response** But I specifically asked if it could be rebuilt and was told no. The answer I got wasn't yes, but we don't do that; or yes, but it's better if it's new because x, y, z, etc... I was flat out told no It couldn't be done. So, I'm not sure how I'm supposed to trust things I get told at Midas. And the savings were worth more than the guarantee offered because I'd rather pay someone I trust to do the work, than have the work (**Most vehicles. See manager for limited guarantee terms.) covered (maybe) somewhere I don't trust. read more

I have come to this Midas twice for a simple oil change package. My dumb butt thought going in a second time, for convenience, would be worth risking a now $1600 repair. Both times I have "suddenly" had some serious issues with my car that weren't there before. I maintain my car well, my dad works on cars for a living and my uncle rebuilds old cars for fun. I know my way around a car, which seemed to "shock" many of the workers. I only have real work done by a trusted family mechanic because of the issues that seem to arise when I go anywhere else. Last summer I had all of my lines and a bunch of parts replaced, coolant, oil, transmission line a brand new transmission installed, and new coolant reservoir. The entire engine was also cleaned. I get to Midas out of convenience for an oil change and tire rotation as my mechanic is an hour away. Not only do I now have a leak in my oil housing, which wasn't there before, the aluminum of my wheel is bent and warped because of the tires not being balanced. I was told it would NOT harm my car to drive on it once I figured out ON THE HIGHWAY, at high speeds, that the tires were not balanced. At 50MPH my car began shaking aggressively and my first thought was my tires were loos. I was told balancing is not included in the tire rotation, and that they almost never have to balance so they dont even mention it. I'm pissed. My little family has some HUGE expenses coming up and possibly getting a new car was not on the daggum docket. Will never be coming back here and will discourage anyone else from going there too. I was treated respectively and given a written estimate and they worked on my car immediately and took less than and hour. the waiting room is very clean and comfortable and had a TV offered sodas and coffee and water. Turns out I needed shocks and struts. They did the fix quickly! Although I had an issue later they took it back and fixed the problem no questions asked and made it right. Took my truck in for a broken tailpipe. it had broken off the muffler and was just hanging from the truck frame. I called for an appointment and was scheduled for the following day. The tailpipe has rusted through. I was taken into the shop and shown the damage to the tailpipe. Once the part arrived it was 30 minutes and the work was finished. I had taken my vehicle to a local service station previous and the cross threaded a lug nut and snapped it off, they could not fix it. When I brought it in to Midas the let me know what it was going to take to resolve the issue and they took care of it quickly and professionally. I had not been to Midas before but they have my business going forward. I even had a chance to meet one of the owners, Mark. They really have a nice operation here. Keep up the good work. read more

I spent over $3,000 dollars at this Midas in Apple Valley, One of the services I asked them to do was to change the spark plugs on my 2004 Dodge Dakota. They installed the wrong plugs, they installed Platinum plugs instead of the called for copper plugs, which lead to my truck miss-firing and having no spark on my #2-cyclinder. I went to three different Dodge garages/dealerships, they all told me that Dodge trucks call for copper plugs, the wrong plugs miss-firing led to my CRM (computer motherboard) to fail. This is a $806 component plus an additional $130.00 to program it. I called on Monday told them my situation, Tony the manager agreed to swap out my plugs and go from there. So on that Tues I brought my truck in and asked them to replace the plugs, and install the copper plugs, later that day I went back picked up my truck and found that they had NOT EVEN changed the plugs, so I called on Wednesday, and they told me to make another appointment and come back in and they will change them. WHY DIDNT THEY JUST CHANGE THEM WHEN I LEFT MY TRUCK THERE FOR HOURS, THEY TOOK IT IN, AND DID NOTHING. Tony, the manager is very condescending when he speaks to you, he is right and you are always wrong, they will claim no liability for there actions and blame you, try to talk over you and be-little you. Now, I am going to another mechanic to have my plugs replaced and install an 806 dollar part, that MIDAS technicians caused the failure, and to bad so sad. MY recommendation is STAY AWAY FROM THESE WORTHLESS, INCOMPETANT, UNPROFESSIONAL "mechanics"? BUYER BEWARE. read more

My wife brought her Jeep here to get a simple oil change. The staff performing the work forgot to replace the drained oil with a fresh replacement. The employee performing the work claimed that it was an issue with the car and that he had replaced the 4.5 quarts of oil the manual called for during the service. My wife and I witnessed him pouring 4 quarts of oil into the engine after her vehicle threw a low oil pressure light as we left the parking lot and began knocking extremely violently. The individual still claimed it was an issue with the car and that the manual was wrong. How does someone not refill an engine with oil after it has been drained? I think that's all that needs to be said about the service at this location. read more

I dropped off my vehicle first thing in the morning, they had it all day. When I went to pick it up after work at 5:00 I had to wait until 8:00 until they were done with the service. The only explanation was sorry it happens sometimes. 3 hours late is ridiculous. To top it off one of the brakes they worked on started smoking in the mountains a week later. We had to pull over and wait for it to stop smoking and then had to interrupt our family vacation and take it into a shop who told me they overgreased the brake and put grease where it doesn't belong. I went in for an oil change and a tire rotation. My car doesn't like to come out of park, so I use the shift lock release. It's a button you push in by the shifter. It's never given me an ounce of trouble. The technician did this, and broke the piece right off and I couldn't get my car out of park. They left me high and dry, didn't offer to fix it, a discount on services, or even at least a ride home. I spoke with Joe the owner and his response was "things break, and they weren't going to do anything because it was bound to happen eventually." Although this had never given me any issues. So I was stranded and my car was not drivable. So I arranged and paid for a tow home. When my husband tried to fix it, within 2 minutes he got the button to release, and cleaned it up so it works better than ever! Turns out the guy jammed it in SO HARD that it lodged itself and stuck! If Midas had better customer service, they could have done the same thing my husband did and had a customer for life and a great review! Instead they left me stranded, with no help and pretty much told me to pound sand. Never bring your car to this location. read more

I had a muffler installed on my car about five years ago by Apple Valley Midas. I was driving home and the muffler failed due to the weather conditions. I went to the store and they looked up my account and saw that I had a warranty. 45 minutes later they had completed the work to replace the muffler and the cost was 75.00 which was for labor. I was very pleased with the service and speed in which they got the work down. Thank you. read more

Made an appointment this morning (July 28th) for an oil change. Appointment was at 5:15. Got there a little after 5:00 and said I had an appointment. Ross said, "really?" Seemed put out that my appointment was so late. I noticed they closed at 6:00. He told me to make sure I was back before 6:00. Went into the computer, pulled up all of my information, as I am a repeat customer with the same vehicle, asked if I had any coupons. I said, "no, but I have this Midas card." This is a card that they stamp which says the type of oil change right on the card because after 4 oil changes, the 5th is free. My son takes me back home. On my way back to pick up my car, I noticed I had a voicemail from Ross at Midas. Suppose to call him back. I did as I pulled into the parking lot, and he told me that they don't handle the type of oil for my Honda anymore and the only kind they now have would be a $60.00 oil change. I told him to forget it! I have never paid $60.00 EVER for an oil change. I get in there and he gives me this song and dance about the special oil my car takes and blah, blah, blah. First of all, I am not the stupid woman he thinks I am. I have actually changed oil myself on my own cars. Second of all, couldn't have he told me that when I dropped off my car in the first place? This is messed up. Now I have a night shot from driving back and forth, 24 miles used up between my car and my son's, and still no oil change. Pretty sure, I can get an oil change pretty much anywhere for under $60.00. I will never go back nor do I advise anyone to go to MIDAS for anything. I was a loyal customer until now. DONE!!
