Where does a person start, did some damage to the tailgate of my truck and brought it to Nates Garage Bodyshop in Cannon Falls MN for an estimate. More than I wanted to pay out of pocket, so I turned the claim into my insurance company. Took 3 weeks to get into the body shop and a week and a day before I received a call that the tailgate repair was done. Went to pick up the truck and top part of my multi-pro tailgate had a big gob of paint on it where there was previously a scratch. I was told that they just tried to touch the scratch up with a paint brush and did it look like it! The scratch was just a big old gob of paint. I complained and they said they would take care of it so I left the truck and the next day I received a call saying that it was done. Went to pick up the truck for the second time and all they did was take the paint off and the scratch was still there. I guess they didn't care enough about me as a customer to make the tailgate repair look good! Basically it was a blow off that the scratch was there when you brought it in, you didn't like our repair of it so here you go it's back to the way it was when you dropped off the truck for repair. This was bad enough but then looking at the estimate of repairs they had listed that they took out the back-up camera and the tailgate handle to repair the top part of the tailgate which they never did either of these but left them on the quote until I challenged them and they finally agreed that they would take them off the quote even thou it didn't matter. Still upset that the tailgate had the scratch on it I reluctantly paid the $500 deductible with a credit card and was charged a $16.25 fee for using a credit card. Now wouldn't you think that they would have said something either of the times that they called me saying the truck was read to be picked up that if I was going to pay with a credit card that they charge an addition fee. I know I would have told my customer about it and that if they wanted to pay by check or cash that they would not have to pay the additional fee. I would have brought my checkbook and paid the deductible with a check. I've used the repair shop at Nates a few times previously and was very satisfied with them but as far as the body shop goes didn't get the feeling that they cared to much if the customer was satisfied. Don't plan on going there again for body work anytime soon. read more

I called to set up an appointment for detailing my husband's car. They had an opening the very next day, plus someone was able to drive me home while the work was being done and pick me up afterwards. I didn't think the car looked that bad, but it looked amazing when I picked it up! The detailer was very thorough and made sure to cover everything! A deer killed our Honda Civic on County Road 8 so I went to Nate's Garage to see about getting a rarely used 2004 Expedition back out on the road until we figured a replacement. In the office I saw some signs up that showed partnerships with the Cannon Falls VFW, and having recently become a life member I asked around the post and heard back nothing but good things. I dropped the Expedition at Nate's, definitely for a break job, and hopefully not much more. There is a community within every community outside every major military post that exists to prey on young, dumb Soldiers. I was as dumb as any of them, with a Triumph TR7 that kept me coming back. Needless to say I still have some trust issues with mechanics- but Nate's worked with me for the most economical means to take care of everything that could become unsafe, leaving the more superficial until a later date. This was over a year ago and Expedition still runs fine when we need it. Having had such a great experience with the Expedition, last summer we decided to put in our '76 Bronco. I couldn't remember how long it had been since the Bronco had really had a thorough inspection and round of repairs. It is strictly a recreational vehicle, driven only in dry spring and summer, and has always been so dependable -once I was totally unorganized for a deployment, left it under a tarp outside in KS, and after a year charged the battery started it right up! Nate's superior customer service skills, their ability to contact their peers in the industry and Ford enthusiasts that are their acquaintances to source refurbished parts at lower costs, and the use of shop.tekmetric.com to instantaneously provide digital vehicle inspections, estimates and invoices? What can I say except Nate's was a true partner with absolute transparency in a substantial restoration that included work on the clutch, fuel pump, and transmission including a replacement of the transfer case. I could not be happier with the results. And as I drove home in the little Bronco with the wind blowing through where my hair used to be, all I could think was "How long before I can save enough to send Nate's our '68 F250?!" read more

What a great garage. They always get me in, they're flexible and they keep me informed of their progress, even sending pictures sometimes. They don't over-sell or up-sale, and their rates are very reasonable. I once asked which repairs of mine could be kicked down the road & Chad told me, but said it'll get bad in about a month- and he was exactly right! I've been a happy return customer since they opened their new shop here in Cannon Falls, and the last two visits were apparently pretty easy fixes, and the bill was $0. Chad said "maybe bring in some donuts sometime for the fellas" (I did). I never have to worry about being taken for a ride by Nate's Garage. Thanks guys! read more

The staff are such a joy to work with. It's small town friendly with professional work. I've had body work done, oil changes and even today after closing and me with a flat tire they were right there to offer assistance. They get high marks for going above and beyond. I brought my car in for 4 new tires, had an appointment, they obviously put me in back of the line because I didn't stay and wait. I ended up calling 1/2 hr. after the job was to be done. Pretty sure they hadn't started yet, said they'd check and call me back, didn't hear back. I called back an hour later which was 20 min. before they close as I needed my car. Person went and checked and said it would be done in 15 min. I got my car and the next day when I got out on the highway she shook so bad at 60 and up. I stopped by on a Sat. but they couldn't get me in so I made an appointment for Monday at 3:30 p.m. and was told we want to make this right. I got there Mon. 15 min before my appointment time in case I could get in early. There was much confusion as to why I was there and for what. While waiting I was told it could be another problem. I said it shouldn't be. It was fine before I got the new tires. Was told those were old tires. Then he went and checked, came back and I was told they couldn't get me in until 4:30 p.m. This was not an option for me. I was treated very rudely but needed to get this taken care of so checked on when I could get in. I was told Tuesday (the next day) at 3:30 p.m. I got there, told him my name and again that I had an appt. at 3:30 p.m. I was told alright I'll get him going. No other talk. I saw my car leave, come back, must of balanced, saw car leave again. Mechanic came and put the keys on the desk. Nothing was ever said to me. I waited 8-10 minutes and finally asked the other guy in the office if I could have my keys as my car was back 8-10 minutes ago. He gave me my keys. I can't believe the horrible customer service and treatment. I sent an email and asked it to be sent to the owner. Never heard anything back from him but did from an office person. What a disappointment in a hometown shop. Us wanting to keep things local and all. I know this is long but I sure hope no one ever receives the kind of treatment we did. read more
