I would like this review to serve as a warning for anyone thinking of using the services of this company. I brought my car in last year for a replacement of the convertible top. They assured me this was a easy replacement and they knew how to do it. I drove home after the work to see rain coming in through my rear window. I brought it back and they repaired it or so I thought. The next rain it leaked at the drivers side window. I brought it back, on a nice day I put the top down only to find it would not fully engage in its decent. I brought it back, fixed I thought. Upon later inspection I noticed two small tears in the fabric at stress points, they had stretched it too tight. I called to voice my complaint and was told it would be fixed, I said I would bring it in next spring as it was Oct. and the car goes into storage for the winter. This spring I brought the car out and called for a time to bring it in for repair or replacement of the top, only to be told "we don't do convertible tops anymore". I reminded the receptionist I was told the repair had a two year warranty, she assured me it would be fixed. I asked that Rick the owner call me for a time to bring it in, he never called. I engaged the BBB to help me pursue the issue. Rick lied and said that they did not offer a two year service guarantee. Rick is a liar who is inept in his work as well as performance as a business owner! The work performed by these people is shoddy and not in anyway guaranteed. My 2001 BMW drivers seat needed help Dick and Ricks did a great job with new custom made padding and new leather for the entire seat. Everyone cared about the work they did from Joy taking the order and making sure the finished work was to my satisfaction to the craftsman Steve who did an exceptional job of matching the original seat in padding and leather stitching you can not tell the difference between both front seats. To the owner Rick who takes pride in his people and business. I'm very particular with BMW X5 and who works on it I would highly recommend them! read more

I brought my Nissan 370z convertible to Dick & Ricks on June 14th, 2016. The convertible top latch would not clamp shut. I told the technician upfront that I only wanted a diagnosis of the problem, and I would return at a later date to correct the issue once I was reemployed (I had zero incoming income). It took two days for the problem to be diagnosed, and the call from the technician sort of detailed the issue, but I was cornered into committing to repairs- the technician said at the end of the call that they had to "trick" the top open, and if the top is closed so I can drive it home and wait to repair it may lead to a top that might never be opened again. That was red flag #1, but I still reluctantly agreed to continue with repairs. This decision led to the single worst auto experience I will probably ever face. The faulty part took almost a month to arrive, and the part quote given to me at the beginning, originally $300, was bumped up to $700 two weeks in (red flag #2). During the wait, I spent over $400 in car rental fees, and had no car at all for 19 of the 30 days. While the business contacted me a few times for updates, most calls between us were initiated by me pleading to move the repairs along. I receive a call after 30 days (July 13th) confirming the part was installed, but another part of the same assembly piece is also faulty, which added another $300, and also needed to be ordered (red flag #3). So they secured the top closed and allowed me to drive the vehicle home while we wait for part #2. Today is the 2 week anniversary since picking the car up, and not one call from this business to install the additional part". I actually made two calls to them myself- the first was to the receptionist, who said she would call me back and never did. The second call a few days later was a pick up, hang up. With no proof that any repairs of any kind were actually completed, and $1,243 paid in full to Dick and Ricks, I have disputed the charge to my credit card company as of today, July 26th, and will chalk this up to an automotive swindle. Side note: I now have minor electrical issues after picking up my car from Dick and Rick's, including non-working interior lights, turn signals with no sound at times, and the alarm occasionally does not beep when engaged. Updates: 8/4/16- Still no response from Dick and Rick's, which seems to confirm the intent to steal as much money from me as possible, perform zero repairs, and return my car with the hope I do not come back. 8/24/16- Received a call from the business on 8/17/16, 35 days after vehicle pickup, letting me know the second part arrived. You read that right- 5 weeks to get a call from them, which seems to have come in response to my BBB complaint and credit card dispute, both filed a few weeks prior. I RELUCTANTLY agree to stop in, where the tech I'd been working with tried to smooth things over. They claimed to have installed the part that day, even though the receipt shows no part numbers for anything installed (Hmmm). I was also told that the original transaction of $1,243 was reversed (which tends to happen when endless blow-offs and ignorance occur in business dealings)(further proof I was called back so they could get paid), which pissed off one of the owners. Instead of him asking his guys why my car is still not fixed after 10 weeks, he demanded I run to an ATM and pull cash out- which I did before the business closes (it was 5 pm at the time) so they could get paid. You are probably wondering why payment in full would be demanded (twice) before the work is finished? Me too. After completed work on the 17th, I was again told not to operate the top until they could reset the computer that operates the top... at a later date. This process supposedly can take significant time, and uses a device not easily accessible. I was under the impression at this point that fixing the car was top priority. Today is 8/24/16, and the two days I tentatively planned on getting this done both passed, strangely without much communication. A series of events like the ones occurring here since mid June have ruined my summer and wrecked my attitude. read more

I had a new convertible top installed on my Mustang(SN95). It looks brand new again, and no water leaks! I did choose a premium top with the heated glass rear window. The installation looks perfect! I was also given very strict instructions for its care for the first 10 days. read more

Afraid of the cost of replacing the broken roof of my 2005 Ford Mustang convertible--frames which are notorious for breaking--I was lucky enough to hear about Dick and Rick's from the Ford dealer. I had the good fortune of meeting Justin Olson at Dick and Rick's Golden Valley location. He fixed it to perfection--good as new--and at a fair price. I had some repair work done there on my convertible V W Bug. Both bids I got we're very close but I was impressed by the knowledge and the great customer attitude that that the owner Rick had, so I went with them. When I got my car back from the shop I was delighted with the quality of the repair. you could even tell there had been a repair made! If you need auto upholstery work done, I would definately check them out. read more

I brought in a company van to get an estimate for repairs to 1 front seat and 1 rear seat. I went over the necessary repairs with the rep and specifically pointed out the 2 seats that needed work. After receiving an estimate, I decided to proceed with the work. The same day I brought the vehicle in for repair, they called me and said it would cost an additional $200 to repair the rear seat. I was shocked because I had made it clear that the estimate had to be for the repair of BOTH seats, as discussed. The representative then acted like we never had that conversation and acted as though I was making it up. She then had me talk with the owner Rick. He was rude and confrontational. He refused to listen to anything that I had to say concerning the apparent misunderstanding. To add insult to injury, Rick told me he was now refusing to send a bill to my company as his rep had previously agreed and he told me he would hold the van until he received payment in hand. Instead of contacting me about the increased cost before the work was started, by this time, the work was already completed on one of the seats, and I had no opportunity to cancel. Either there was an honest mistake by one of us, or there was an intentional misrepresentation. Future customers can consider the way that the situation was handled and make their own determination. I cannot recommend this business. Instead of making a good faith effort to resolve the matter, Rick was downright insulting and rude. read more

I just happened to stumble across this place because I was needing help with my sunroof and dome light. The staff were EXTREMELY friendly and personable. They were able to squeeze me in right away (even though they are booked out 2 weeks) because of an unexpected opening and fixed the issues. While I waited, they gave me a place to hang out on my computer and even helped me to fix my computer when it wouldn't start! The BEST customer service I have ever had. To top it off, they told me that there was a cheap way to manage the issues that would not compromise its safety or quality, but that if I really wanted to have bigger work done, I could, but didn't recommend it. They gave me the prices for both options. Their honesty and integrity is what will turn me into a committed and loyal customer. I will also be recommending this place to all of my family and friends.
