I couldn't believe when I walked in there was a row ofAdirondack chairs with cushions, foot rest, and desks in case you want to get some work done. The machines do a clean cycle between everyone's wash. First visit your soap with nontoxic fragrance, free detergent and the dryer are free. I haven't been to a laundromat in decades, but I blew it washing a large comforter at the home washing machine. So walked in with a soaking wet, heavy comforter. She led me to the right machine which even had a comforter setting! I wish I'd taken a photo of the folding tables -- so clean! -- and also the "cafe-like" setting kind of upstairs . . .

First time for us to observe signs such as these a-n-y-w-h-e-r-e... Anyway... I did our laundry fully clothed beside a very friendly self proclaimed meth addict who was sorting thru his drugs and chatting gaily. I also brushed elbows with a seemingly nice chap who did not wash his clothes but unpacked a damp backpack to dry his items in the dryer. And sort thru his stuff. He shared that he was informally camping for the past few months. A man staggered in at some point to mumble and inquire about change. He was not interested in any laundering. No sink and no access to water. No tv. One trash can. No restroom. No attendant. Nice music. We wanted to try this place after discovering it on a walk but won't return.

So the dryer seemed like a great deal. No public restroom, which is typical of laundromats, since our country despises people who are poor and struggling, as well as older, incontinent people. If you have time to kill, there are places to check out nearby like Coastal, Club Thrift and Harbor Freight.

I was going to do some blankets as well, but then the PayRange app double charged me. I think it might've had something to do with the fact that there is no obvious way to actually start the washing machines. The app promised me a free wash, but then it wouldn't give it to me. I had to add money before I could do anything. The large commercial washers smelled moldy. There is no restroom, but I can understand why. I bought lunch at Tradewinds and used their restroom. A nice lady who was a frequent customer of the place pointed out a phone number where I could call the owner to ask about a refund for my double charge. I also emailed Support on the app. After some back-and-forth, I eventually got my refund the next day. Meanwhile I struggled to find large dryers that still had the pay range app numbers on them. A lot of signage was missing, including the word 'start' on the start button of a number of the machines. All in all, it was not the smooth experience I was hoping for.

The lady next to me had a lot of tie die clothes, so I asked her if the shirt was hers. She said no. The attendant happened to be there and so I told her I found the shirt in my dryer. She asked dryer number and I told her. She put the shirt in office that they use. Next day my son wants to know where his new blue tie die shirt was that he had put in washer yesterday (unbeknownst to me obviously.) As soon as son told me that it was his I went back to JC's. The attendant was not there. I have seen her there at different times so I went home and tried a hour later. No atttendant. I went next day and no attendant. So I went home and wrote a note and a couple hours later returned with my note and tape. I didn't know if I should leave my phone # considering it's just taped to door- anyone can see it. ( I'm not trying to get a bunch of weird calls) but the shirt had never been worn and I needed it back so I put phone ## on note. I explained what happened and that I have been trying to get it back and asked the attendant or whoever works there to call me to pick shirt up. No call all weekend so I went and tried again and again. I have been there at least 20 times in 3 weeks to dry clothes as per usual but I also have tried to catch attendant randomly. Even thought ok maybe I need to be there at opening. No one was there then either. In short I decided that I will be-going to 18th st to dry from now on. Everyone's right the laundry mat is sketchy. The machines are always out of order and it has been a pig stye most of my trips there. They don't care about there customers clearly. oh And it has flooded twice in the years since I started using it.
