He was incredibly friendly, funny, and welcoming, and his customer service went way above and beyond what you expect at a quick stop. He made us laugh, kept things upbeat, and somehow managed to make a simple food stop feel like a bright moment in a very long day. Miss Vickie's Kettle Cooked Chips definitely has flavor & that crunch factor. We ordered 2 Medium Subs. The Spicy Cajun Chicken & an Italian. Sandwiches come with a pickle slice. I ate half of my sandwich & took the other half home. I appreciate that they cut the Medium Subs in half. Both were warm & bread was toasted. We were happy with our sandwiches. Is it just me or anyone else have the same experiences as my last two times here? I have nothing bad to say about the customer service, ease of placing the order, portions, or price. My main problem has been it seems like the workers just slap my sandwich together with no regards or care. The meat and ingredients were just slopped onto my bread with the condiments all over the bread and container. It is not appealing to get a sub where the bread is saturated in sauce and each bite getting all of the pastrami and then the next all of the veggies. I stopped by Firehouse Sub this morning to use my Tmobile Tuesday offer. I never been to a Firehouse Sub before and there none around where I live but this store is about 1 mile away from my work so I came here. I got to the plaza about 5 minutes before they open so I just sat in my car. This place is in a plaza with a lot of parking spots so you won't have any issues finding parking. When I walked in, I was the first customer of the day so I avoided any long lines that I read from other people reviews. I walked to the cashier area and told them I would like to use my tmobile offer for the medium hook & ladder Sub and I also got a bag of chips. The interior of the place is decorated with a lot of firefighter stuff so take the time to look around. My food took about 5 minutes to be made so it was made fresh. I thought the Sub was decent for my first experience, but I would probably get different sandwich the next time I'm here since I'm more of a turkey breast person. The service I received here this morning was great. My score: Parking: 5 star, you won't have any issues finding a spot. Atmosphere: 5 star, the place is decorated nicely with firefighters stuff and they have outside seating as well. Customer Service: 5 star, I had no bad experience here this and the staff were nice. Truly mediocre. Seems that a lot of sandwich places are just doing a carbon copy of a Subway. Just like Capriotti's this is just another run of the mill sandwich chain. Nothing special about it. Same old bread, same old toppings. Even though I used the app to order, they still managed to get it wrong. The receipt shows the exact oder which was correct, but on the sandwich it was wrong. If you want a quality sub, Firehouse is the way to go. I strongly recommend the Hook & Ladder, which is their signature sub and it always hits the spot. The large is good enough for (2) meals or if you're really hungry. It's smaller than the Giant at Jersey Mike's, but it's definitely larger than Subway. Using their website/app to order can be both a blessing or curse, depending on location and time. The Simi Valley location is consistently more prompt than the Ventura location. The best part of the experience was the mobile app, which I used to avoid the long lunch line. I ordered the steak, pepper & cheese sandwich which was not good at all. Bland airplane food at best. On the recommendation of the staff I only order the turkey sandwich called the "hook and ladder", but it is mediocre overall and I'm not even surprised anymore when they forget the side pickle. Last night 8/21/23, 6:05pm I called Simi Firehouse Subs to place an order. I was asked to be put on hold and agreed. I waited 10 minutes and finally I disconnected. Immediately I called back and the call went to voicemail after ringing a few times. I tried calling 10 times and was sent to the voicemail which kept saying the voicemail box has not been set up yet. Believing the store was crowded, I drove over to place our order. What a surprise to me when I walked in and discovered that there was not a single customer in the store. I also I was perplexed when walking through the door, I was not greeted with Hello, or Welcome to Firehouse Subs, or even a smile, when the employees looked at me. All they did was stand there, looking unhappy. I walked up to the counter and asked Andres to speak with the manager. He hesitated, and stated that there was no manager, and it was he with the most authority. I asked him "Where are all the customers,? I called 25 minutes ago and was placed on hold for 10 minutes, then subsequently called back numerous times, with the phone going to voicemail." He had no answer. I then asked him for the card of the owner which he gave me the card of Nerses Teshoian. I have been a Firehouse neighbor and rewards customer at this store for at least six years. I've never had this kind of treatment, nor have I ever seen their employees, not smiling, even this entire time that I waited for my order. I visited your store last week, and had a young lady that waited on me, I ordered two large sandwiches and when I got home and opened up my bag, I ended up with three sandwiches and was charged for three. I'm sure that the problem was miscommunication, and the fact that the music was so loud that neither of us could hear each other and that she spoke so very softly was also an issue. Is it any wonder that so many restaurants in Simi Valley end up failing? Especially the ones near this store. When customers are treated like this, it's no wonder that they stop coming to these restaurants. And just for the record, the last agreement that was sent by Firehouse, Subs Corporate, indicated that they were reducing the value of the points, to where it would take many more purchases to be able to get a reward. Whether you're an actual fireman or not, you will want to be one after eating here, ok maybe not, but it's a very fun place to grab a sandwich and feel apart of the team. The place is very clean and extremely well themed with a fire house motif. The sandwiches taste super fresh and are priced fairly. Despite the Simi Valley Town Center being a total dud of a mall, foot traffic at this Sub shop is always hoppin. There is plenty of seating inside and they have a big screen tv usually playing sports (olympics we're playing my last visit).
