Several Saturdays ago, I ventured out to try to get fabric from a local store to make face masks, which showed as being open when I researched online. Alas, they were only open for curbside pickup. To regroup I went to Wendy's. Ordering at the drive-thru, I took my order to the adjacent parking lot and enjoyed my Frosty sitting in the comfort of my car. It was a mild afternoon, and I could open the windows and appreciate fresh Spring air. I also placed an online order for the materials needed for the masks, a worthy multi-tasking. I got the small treat for myself, plus ordered a salad to take home and share for dinner with Dear Hubby. The salad was a winner, with a mix of savory and sweet ingredients. The reason for a just-okay rating was that at the time (around 4/4/2020), the staff was not wearing masks nor wearing gloves. I had a mask, and hand wipes / hand sanitizer, but would prefer to see a food establishment protecting their team with better gear. read more

I stopped by this Wendy today to grab lunch since this location is near my work office. I used the app to place my mobile order and also used the offer that they had to get a deal on their double cheeseburger. I added fries to my order and then paid through the app. It didn't give me a time to select so I figure they just start making your order once you're there. When I pulled into the plaza this place is in, it was basically quiet. There are pot holes in Wendy lot so be aware. I pulled up to the drive thru and told the worker I was picking up my mobile order. I was told to pull up to the first window and then a little forward since my food wasn't ready. It took like 5ish minute for my food to come out when they had no other customers. I thought the double cheeseburger was okay, it reminded me of my high school food but the fries were delicious. I drove up to order the 2/$3 breakfast items. The employee said " we do not offer that anymore" she said come up to the window... and smiling we don't have that offer anymore, i replied oh but you have it on the drive thru sign. She said no we do not ma'am because i took it down and checked the sign twice with her voice getting louder with anger. I said ok I am not going to get anything bye with a smile driving off confused about the whole scenario. I went back around and took a picture of the sign. Very disappointed!! As I usually do when visiting Wendy's, I walked in and specifically requested that my burger be made fresh, not to just re-warm a patty that had been already cooked and in the corner of the grill. I mentioned I would not place my on-line order unless it was agreed upon. I then placed the order and said to take their time, no hurry. I was surprised to see my order ready in less than 2 minutes, which clearly indicates the patty was not made fresh. I asked if it was made fresh and was told "yes". I should have opened and tasted before I left, but did not until I get in my car. I opened ad took a big bite and as I suspected, the beef patty was NOT made fresh. As I thought about charging back in there to request a new burger, I refrained myself from being confrontational. I once worked for Wendy's when I was young and remember the amazing taste of their burgers when they are served freshly cooked off the grill. I accidentally dropped my card in my door and was lucky enough to fish it out. The staff saw my struggle and when I came back to the window they made everything fresh and gave me a free freeze for my trouble. Ordered the new Cobb salad even though it didn't have blue cheese which i thought was odd. I assumed it was the same chicken they use for the grilled chicken sandwich's, but it's this horrible cheap and overly seasoned/salty processed chicken that is worse than Taco Bell. The kind that comes in a bag. It was hot too and wilted the lettuce. The dressing used to be simply ranch and now it's Kraft. Absolutely disgusting salad with horrible cheap ingredients. I'm not one to regularly post bad reviews but I'm just angry! I've been to Wendy's a few times at least enough to acquire rewards. Whenever I use their mobile app I use my rewards. It deducts the points from my account but still charges me for the item! So I'm not getting my freebie. I've spoken to the manager, and the district manager and called their department to let them know the problem even attempted to send an email all to no avail. If the mobile app doesn't work fix it! My sweet little guy loves Wendy's. We normally go to the Newbury park location, but had to pick up my daughter at the Simi Town center at a bday party. Karen took our order. It seemed like they were under staffed but she rocked it. Food was hot and good. She came out to clean tables while we were eating and was over all a great employee. Give her a bonus and or a promotion. I have to say, it was like being in a time warp. The smell of fried chicken, the whole place looked super 80's, and nothing but 80's music playing. It had been awhile since I last ate at a Wendy's,and I was happy I did.I prefer eating at a Wendy's than a Mcdonald's and Carl's jr. Wendy's meat is never frozen.When you freeze meat,you lose the moisture. I had the Double cheese combo. I opened the burger to see that all the condiments where laid out properly and they were.You see when you bit into a burger your suppose to taste each and every condiment in the burger,just to let you all know that.The sandwich maker who made my burger did a fantastic job in preparing the burger.From a customer's view Great Job.Stay consisit in your food preparation and delivering a Great tasting burger. Went to pick up a couple items at Wendy's as I got there I realize that they were pretty busy and Made me question if I should wait in line to my surprise they got through 10 car deep line pretty quick. When I pulled up the window I realize that there was only two employees handling everything pretty amazing. People need to be patient all of us are struggling we all are working and doing more jobs than we need to. I own stock in Wendy's so it saddens me to have to leave this one star review: The Double burger used to have two nearly half inch thick patties, it was a monster and it was wonderful. Not any more at least not at this location. The patties are paper thin. Total rip off. Never patronize this particular store. I visit the Wendy on Cochran near Tapo Canyon street here in Simi Valley, this is the 2nd time I've had issues . First time about month ago the double big Dave's was terrible caused problem with my digestive system next morning. I blew it off and went back last night to get same burger with crispy fries . The burger was a terrible choice and all the fries were literally burnt and hard as a rock . Way pass crispy . Just got home from buying lunch at the drive through. Asked for a baconator wrapped in lettuce instead of a bun, side Cesar salad, and chicken nugget kids meal for my daughter. This is what I got... side salad with ranch, cold stale, rock hard fries, cold chicken nuggets for my kid, and a disgusting cold burger smothered in grease, mayo, and one slice of lettuce. Ordered the new Harvest salad- it was supposed to have red & green apples and dried cranberries in it. I got home and there were none of those items in the salad. It was still really tasty & fresh. Next time, I will have to check my order before leaving. I come here because my son loves Wendy's- I usually don't get anything. I've eaten at this restaurant for many years. But I haven't visited this location for many years - until today. It now looks like a complete dump. The interior has not been cared for well, and it's in serious need of a major remodel. The food was mediocre, and to be honest, I'm surprised they still have a franchise license! Want a refill of your drink? You have to go to the front counter and ask for it. They don't even allow you to refill your own cup! To be honest I didn't expect much as I haven't gone to Wendy's in years, but after going with my family yesterday night I really felt like they did their best for being a fast food restaurant, the kid in the drive thru was really nice and didn't try to rush us so that also was a plus, I had asked for ranch expecting only one package but ended up getting a handful, me and my family were all satisfied with their service and food and will definitely give them a chance again in the future, thank you Wendy's for being the best you can be. read more
