Best Sandwiches in Orange County. I think ive tried most of them and i can say they are delicious

Real gear

Had a great late lunch at Firehouse Subs in the Target parking lot in Orange. The store is on the edge of the parking lot and is easily missed since it's on the opposite side of Target. This may be my new fav sub sandwich spot! Really cute and clean store, designed like a true firehouse with boots and gear hanging on the wall. The service is welcoming and helpful' and the food seems to be made to order with very fresh ingredients! Had the firehouse hero and fries combo. First of all, the fries are INCREDIBLE! Id venture to to say they are some of the best I've ever had! Fries are long crinkle cut, crispy on the outside, soft inside. Served fresh and hot. Oh so PERFECT! The sandwich is tasty, and stuffed with meats and the sauce is really good without being overpowering. Veggies are fresh as well. Don't normally do 'fast food' but this was awesome! Will be back!!

Hook and ladder submarine!

Drove 30 miles from LA county to come to this location. Michaela was super nice!! Helped me with my online order and when I asked dumb questions she smiled and helped me! Food was hot and delicious! I'll definitely be coming back! French dip and the au jus it comes with was amazing! I recommend!

My 1st time trying Firehouse subs. Ordered on their app and it was really easy to do. There is an area for online order pick up right in front of the door entrance/exit. What I ordered :Hook & Ladder sub in medium size. Was good but nothing really out of the ordinary sub. Bread was so t & good. I deduct a star for being given a Brownie that was frozen. Found it to be odd & asked the associate with the brownie being frozen. Lots of dining tables indoor & a few tables outdoor. Decor was literally like a firehouse. They had complimentary fireman hat up at the register. Located in the same plaza as Target few doors down from Blaze Pizza with lots of parking available.

Medium Hook & Ladder sandwich. Very small for $14, compared to my hand lol Pickle was pretty good tho

My first time trying this place and only because of a T-MOBILE TUESDAYS offer. Buy one get one on the HOOK AND LADDER sandwich. $14 for a medium sandwich is outrageous! Luckily the offer I used gave me 2 sandwiches! I'm not a fat person but I do have an appetite especially when I'm eating the first meal of the day lol The sandwich was average at most but I most likely will not go back just due to the price. I can go get a chicken teriyaki bowl up the street for $8 that WILL be filling my appetite.

Bright and red interior design and great lighting and it was clean. The young lady working the register was real lackadaisical and didn't thank me for my order or anything. She was frowning and holding her back as if it was hurting. Idk About 3-5 minutes wait while the sun is prepared. It ordered the Turkey Bacon Ranch sandwich and it was delicious. Warm and soft also. My first time here. Not bad not great, but decent.

Great selections of sub sandwiches. I love their Turkey Bacon Ranch! The also have a chopped salad that is excellent. You can make it a combo with a drink and chips and they have cookies too. Table seating and great firehouse decor. They gave 1st Responder discounts during COVID which was a nice touch. Great service and tasty food.

Food is not worth the money now. Don't go here, the sizes of sandwiches got way smaller. For a big chain, it's kinda sad but it's time to go try smaller businesses anyways! Bye firehouse!

Medium Italian Sub! Delicious!

OKAY. FULL DISCLAIMER. This review is based on a FREE sandwich and SUUUUURE that might mean there's some foul play/judgement skewing going on, but also let it be known that I would have NEVER tried firehouse subs without stumbling across this excellent free birthday sub deal. I was a sheltered po'girl growing up, living off $3 banh mi's from BMC and $5 foot long Subway sandwiches. Thus, excellent marketing ploy here, Firehouse. MOVE ASIDE Subways, you are SUB par in comparison. I got the Italian sub on wheat bread, no mayo, no cheese, add bell pepper, cold meats and hello hello hello. The wheat bread was soft and hearty. Not dry at all. The sweetness of the Virginia honey ham really complemented the salty genoa salami and spicy pepperoni. Definitely ask for bell pepper - sliced perfectly 1/4 inch thick, it retains the Italian dressing well and will hold up for a crunch! If you're looking for a solid sandwich, order online and be sure to stop on by!

So I was in the mood for a steak and cheese sub so I decided to go to Firehouse Subs in Tustin, I order a large Steak and Cheese with everything on it, I made sure when ordering the sub I asked the cashier to make sure to add unions and bell peppers, mustard and meyo, ordered to go, When I got home the sub looked different the steak looked almost light grey like not fully cooked, they put very little unions but no bell peppers what a disappointment, i took a bite and quickly spit it out, this Sub was terrible plus it was cold so they deserve 1 star. Terrible terrible terrible

Very clean am well maintained

At $10, I think it's a decent price. The other sandwiches in the picture were also amazing! It's definitely a popular spot and can get busy, but thankfully they have plenty of parking available.

The only problem is...it's always packed!!! And they're open only for a few hours a day. Today I decided to do takeout. I ordered and paid online from the restaurant and I got a text with the time my order was going to be ready. I parked in their private lot and found my order ready to go on a shelf to the right of the front door. The cashier came out from behind the counter (without me even asking) to get me the bag of jalapeño chips that I ordered (which was very nice since the place was packed and the chips were on the far wall). The sandwiches are huge! I got a 6" tuna and my husband got the 10" Cortina's Special. Both were loaded! I had to eat mine open faced and I could only eat half! Unfortunately, the whole wheat roll was delicious, but the tuna was a little too much on the sweet side (I have a similar complaint with the tuna at Board & Brew). If you're in the mood for a good tuna salad sandwich, I suggest Jersey Mikes. If you're in the mood for any other kind of sandwich and don't mind waiting, go to Cortina's!

Pulling into the parking lot, I knew this was a very well loved restaurant because the lot was packed ~ and it's a pretty good sized lot! Walking up to the door, it's pretty obvious, in a good way, that it's an establishment that's been around for a while. With bustling deli and pastry cases near the entrance, Benjie's instantly gives off a Cheers vibe, even for this first timer. There's a counter to sit at if you're dining solo, or if you've got more people in your party there are plenty of traditional booths and tables. The menu is extensive with all of the traditional deli/diner favorites. In order to try more, we decided to split everything. We ordered Reuben Fritters as a starter, a Pastrami sandwich on a French roll, and cheese blintzes for dessert. The Reuben Fritters were a nice take on the sandwich with a mixture of tender corned beef and the perfect amount of cheeses and sauerkraut rolled in bread crumbs and fried to perfection. The pastrami sandwich was piled high with meat and served with a side of onion rings. We were already getting full at this point, but we couldn't resist the cheese blintzes that were patiently waiting for us to give them a try. I swear I don't live under a rock, but I've never had blintzes before and these were VERY good! We went with the traditional preparation, although I read someone's review that said these could also be requested fried. Definitely worth a try next time. I'm imagining pure decadence! Our server was friendly and kept on top of keeping our beverages filled and checking to see if we needed anything. We left filled with excellent comfort food and an overall great experience. Looking forward to trying some more things on the menu soon!

You can tell they've been around for a long time in the best way. It has that classic deli feel with a mix of diner, café, and old school market vibes. Service was friendly and helpful, even during the lunch rush. We went around 1 PM on a Thursday, so it was definitely busy, but the wait felt expected and worth it. Portion wise, they do not hold back. You really get a bang for your buck here. The smoked fish platter was the highlight for me. I genuinely loved everything on it. It's perfect for sharing (or for leftovers ). It almost feels like a DIY bagel experience you get to mix and match different toppings and flavors, which I'm obsessed with. Also... I tried an egg bagel for the first time and it lowkey changed my life. They make their bagels in house and sell them by the half dozen but they do sell out. By the time we finished eating, they were already out, so if you want some to take home, grab them as soon as you walk in. The Benjie Special was solid super flavorful and packed with a generous amount of pastrami. It did lean a bit greasy for our taste, but that really just comes down to personal preference. They also offer a variety of cold deli items by the pound, which adds to that classic New York-style deli experience. Overall: A cozy, old school deli with generous portions, quality food, and that nostalgic mom and pop charm. Definitely a spot we'd come back to.

There's some seating inside and it's both a small market of imported German and other European goods and foods, as well as a deli where they can fix you a sandwich real quick. We got ourselves a sausage sandwich and a cold cut sandwich and my boyfriend got some cuts to go as well. My boyfriend also got an imported beer and an extra pickle spear. For our side, we got some potato salad. I love potato salad and this was the perfect side. Sandwiches have the perfect toasted level, and isn't dry. Fillings were plentiful and it was enough to make both of us full. Great with a spared of mustard and mayo and sauerkraut in the sandwich. We also got some additional yummy milk chocolates too. Solid German deli!
