Manny's...my annual trip to South Carolina is incomplete until I eat a corned beef sandwich here…read more The place is run by ex-Long Islanders, who obviously have been doing this for a long time. They run the place with a no-nonsense efficiency. I came at off hours. The corn beef is lean and deliciously full of rich beef and spices (mustard seed, black pepper, and maybe coriander?) on warm rye, softly cradling the spicy brown mustard encased beef. The potato salad is like a cool l, creamy, and savory puree: my favorite potato salad of all time. The sandwich, potato salad and pickle (if only it were a half sour) is every bit as good as Langers in Los Angeles, a landmark for New York deli, but 1/16th as crowded. The dining area has fewer than ten tables. I hope it's always here when I return.

Tuesday was Trivia Night but we were still able to get a seat at the bar. Bartenders were very friendly and there was a decent draft selection. We decided to take the easy option with Miller Lites. There was a wide range of ages from people in their early 20s enjoying a late meal to people in their 60s playing trivia. Tons of TVs, I enjoyed watching west coast baseball during my visit. Beer was cold, bartenders were friendly, I'd definitely like to return and get a bite to eat. Dagwoods certainly feels like a strong option for drink or food. I just wish they were open past 11 PM.

Also I think my mom wanted to check this place out. DeVeglio's is basically an small Italian Market that sells pasta, all different types of sauces, chicken dishes like Francese, dessert, homemade meatballs and more! We walked in here and immediately thought it was small. We found peppers in a jar and brought them, and also brought a zepli treat that was $4.00. Cashier was pleasant when my mom asked. She paid for our items via cash and got change. I don't really like any of that stuff-- where's the rainbow cookies? lol But anyways, I personally don't like any of that stuff hence the 4 stars, but maybe next time we'll come back and try the homemade sauces or pasta!

It takes away from the cinnamon roll. That's just me. I'm pretty sure we will be heading back there before we leave myrtle beach. If you go early in the morning, expect a long line because it probably will be out the door. It's worth the wait though.
