Danny Made My First Visit Amazing! First and foremost--Danny is the best! So helpful, thoughtful, and truly considerate of your needs. This was my first time visiting Firehouse Subs, and I honestly didn't know what to expect. But I was warmly greeted with a friendly smile and so much patience, which immediately made me feel comfortable. One of the first things that made me happy was discovering they offer gluten-free bread--which is so rare to find at sandwich spots! I explained to Danny that it was my first visit, and he kindly walked me through some recommendations. I'm so glad I took his advice! The sandwich was delicious, and the Cajun mayo instead of regular mayo was the perfect finishing touch. I loved it so much, I went back the next day, and again the following week--this time bringing a friend with me! Unfortunately, the vibe shifted a bit on my most recent visit. I guess Danny was off that day, and it showed. The woman at the counter was on the phone when I walked in, and although she paused to help me, I could sense a bit of impatience while I was deciding on my order. Date of Visit: July 20, 2025 I'm a disabled customer who relies on a trained service animal. When I came to this Firehouse Subs to pick up my order, staff immediately said "no dogs," even after I explained (repeatedly) that he was a service dog trained to assist me. They disregarded federal ADA law and said, "We don't care -- store policy." Another customer defended me. A couple more asked what was happening as the staff started raising their voices at me. Eventually, multiple customers left with me in protest. I left feeling humiliated and dehumanized. This location needs immediate ADA compliance training. I've submitted a formal report to the Department of Justice. No one should be treated this way for having a disability. read more

For my first time here, I ordered the seasonal turkey and stuffing sandwich. The inside was smaller than I expected and a little hard to move around it but the pickup process was problem free. The sandwich itself was delicious, the only thing I would change is the bread. The bread is good in general however for the sandwich a ciabatta would have made more sense. All smothered in jack cheese? Yes please. The bread is interesting too. It is not your typical white sub roll. There is a sweetness to it that I enjoy. And you should too. Now...IF you order a large...be prepared for left-overs. The large is a little ridiculous, but you now have lunch for the next day. Food - A fairly good selection of sandwiches is available and some even have firehouse-themed names like "the hook and ladder". Orders are freshly made and can be customized. There are even light lighter options on the menu which is always nice to see on a menu. Taste - Disappointing. I ordered the lite chicken salad sandwich. It looked appetizing but totally lacked flavor. When the tomato slices are the most flavorful ingredient on a sandwich you know there's a problem. Value - A bit pricey. My chicken salad sandwich was smaller than a Subway 6" and it was over $6! That price didn't even include chips or a drink. There are simply better sandwich options around. read more

For 5-7 dollars you get a 8 inch sub and can order from their "hot specialty sub" menu or from the more conventional options like turkey, veggie, tuna etc. There is also a foot-long option but I didn't catch how much more it would cost. Breads come toasted with an option of honey wheat or white. We ordered the hook & ladder sub (honey ham, turkey, melted monterey jack, veggies. mayo) and the smokehouse beef & cheddar brisket sub (with onions and jalapenos) on white as per our cashier's recommendations. They arrived quickly but I was underwhelmed as the photos of the sandwiches make them seem larger than they actually are. The hook & ladder was tasty but not anything amazing; I could eat something comparable at Which Which for slightly cheaper. The smokehouse beef & cheddar was packed with lots of meat and I was expecting a hearty BBQ style brisket sandwich, but instead, the meat was more of a lunch meat with a drizzle with BBQ sauce. It was still tasty, just not what I was expecting out of a sandwich advertised as a "brisket" sandwich. The best aspect of both sandwiches was the white bread - toasted on the outside with good pull and texture. Overall, it's comparable to places like Which Which, albeit with more character, better service, and very tasty bread. This was a quick pop in during an off peak time, late on a Saturday afternoon. We weren't planning on stopping in this area at all, but traffic leaving the hospital was horrendous and we had a long way to go. We just wanted something to tide us over until we could have a late dinner with the family. When we entered, we were the only customers, which made sense due to the time of day. There were several people working behind the counter, but only one person at the register and he greeted us in a friendly manner. We each ordered one small sandwich and no drink, since we had them in the car and we were making this quick. The employee offered free water cups at the end though, so that was cool. The food came out pretty quickly, which I guess was expected since the place was empty, but it speaks to a certain amount of efficiency. I got a small roast beef, fully involved except for the onions. My husband got the Italian and my dad got the Engineer. All three of us were really satisfied with the food! We were in full agreement that it hit the spot and everything tasted really good! This chain uses good quality ingredients from the meat to the bread to the veggies, and that was reflected at this location. We were able to get back on the road quickly and the same employee thanked us as we left. The overall visit was very good. Just a few minor suggestions for this location. The overall vibe was a little weird and I think it was coming from some of the employees. This does not apply to the gentleman who helped us, but some of the employees seemed to be in a sour mood. Also, some of the tables hadn't been cleaned yet and only one other customer came in while we were there. To be clear, the store was NOT dirty, this was the normal amount of trash from a crowd. Also, none of the employees were rude to us. It's just that customer perception is important in this industry. Not using your time wisely before the dinner rush and not realizing customers can see you, even if you are behind the counter are normal lessons a young staff learns. This does not make it a bad place to visit, seriously, not at all, we enjoyed our food. It's just that this can make the difference between a 4 star and 5 star experience. I normally don't review a place after 2 visits, but i have to. My first visit was decent. It didn't take as long as i expected for my sub to come after ordering. The drink machine is equipped with all types of mixed drinks. I knew I had to visit again to get the real experience. My second visit was horrible. After placing my order, a customer returned saying his order was incorrect. The staff treated the customer as if he were lying. The "manager" at the time was unprofessional to say the least. He basically badgered the customer saying "do you want my first and last name ?" At that moment, i started to be more attentive to those prepping my order. I guess the flu season has taken over Houston. I saw 2-3 employees wiping their nose, with and without gloves, while working. The situation forced me to stand at the counter/bar to see who was touching my sub. My sandwich was safe! Although the sub was a good lunch, I can't return to this location.
