    Sauce station is back

I had a very positive experience at this particular Firehouse Subs. They were very friendly and helpful when I entered and ordered. The food was very tasty. And while I took my food to-go, the interior was clean and I appreciated the firehouse theme For old firehouse lovers, you'll appreciate that the hot sauces are back. After being removed due to Covid restrictions, their variety of mild to extremely hot hot sauces are back at their hot sauce station Some tips: I will always be a major advocate for the New York Steamer. It's their best signature sandwich in my opinion. Keep an eye out for Name Day deals. On these days, which ever names are picked for this day can receive BOGO subs. Also, if you have made a purchase in the app within a calendar year and you are a member of their rewards program you can get a free regular sub on your birthday Cheers!!

For my first time here, I ordered the seasonal turkey and stuffing sandwich. The inside was smaller than I expected and a little hard to move around it but the pickup process was problem free. The sandwich itself was delicious, the only thing I would change is the bread. The bread is good in general however for the sandwich a ciabatta would have made more sense. I do recommend tho!

Two different sizes for same item ordered... "bowl' soup

Not sure my recent review posted, just in case... first time here today. Please check your order before you walk out, reconsider tipping ahead of time also, before you get at least one piece of evidence of complete service. I paid for two "bowls" of soup (see receipt below) but realized at home I had been given what looked like one cup and separately a half cup (two different sizes; see photo). The sub order was also the wrong bread. I wish I had the extra hour to take from work and trying to get family dinner to return to deal with it. But I don't. Like you won't.

Just meh. This was my first and last visit to Firehouse Subs. Atmosphere - Pretty unique. I like the firehouse decor. Food - A fairly good selection of sandwiches is available and some even have firehouse-themed names like "the hook and ladder". Orders are freshly made and can be customized. There are even light lighter options on the menu which is always nice to see on a menu. Taste - Disappointing. I ordered the lite chicken salad sandwich. It looked appetizing but totally lacked flavor. When the tomato slices are the most flavorful ingredient on a sandwich you know there's a problem. Value - A bit pricey. My chicken salad sandwich was smaller than a Subway 6" and it was over $6! That price didn't even include chips or a drink. There are simply better sandwich options around.

I love a good sandwich and saw this place on Yelp with 4 stars so decided to check it out. Decor and feel of the place is laid back and cheery and the staff was very friendly and polite. For 5-7 dollars you get a 8 inch sub and can order from their "hot specialty sub" menu or from the more conventional options like turkey, veggie, tuna etc. There is also a foot-long option but I didn't catch how much more it would cost. Breads come toasted with an option of honey wheat or white. We ordered the hook & ladder sub (honey ham, turkey, melted monterey jack, veggies. mayo) and the smokehouse beef & cheddar brisket sub (with onions and jalapenos) on white as per our cashier's recommendations. They arrived quickly but I was underwhelmed as the photos of the sandwiches make them seem larger than they actually are. The hook & ladder was tasty but not anything amazing; I could eat something comparable at Which Which for slightly cheaper. The smokehouse beef & cheddar was packed with lots of meat and I was expecting a hearty BBQ style brisket sandwich, but instead, the meat was more of a lunch meat with a drizzle with BBQ sauce. It was still tasty, just not what I was expecting out of a sandwich advertised as a "brisket" sandwich. The best aspect of both sandwiches was the white bread - toasted on the outside with good pull and texture. Overall, it's comparable to places like Which Which, albeit with more character, better service, and very tasty bread. I wish I could give it 4 stars instead of just 3, but the food wasn't unique or memorable enough to merit a 4 star rating. I would return if I were looking for a quick lunch in the area.

Jollibee is still more popular than ever and these four stars are really for what I hope they'll stand to achieve, not what they've been as of late. :: Red Ribbon is of no more (#1) and now Jollibee stands practically alone in its own little corner of the plaza. Instead Baker's Son By Valerio (#2) across the parking lot has become the pseudo Filipino carb hotspot that is resonating well with the community. :: Things are more expensive than ever. A 10 piece is practically $25 and family meals (aka bucket treats) are anywhere from $39-53. In spite of being one of my most made-up words in review form, Foodflation deserves another mention because it absolutely applies here. :: They now have mac and cheese on the menu. It has the same consistency as Popeye's or KFC, which is really not good. it's salty, tastes artificial, and is paltry in portion, especially when considering the price. :: They are also slower than ever. Even when there isn't something happening at NRG, the wait has been as long as 45 minutes for group and I, and even longer for a large order. This is for both takeout and dining in. For drive-thru goers, one will be directed to an open parking spot where they'll eventually bring the food out. :: For folks needing points via the app, it can only be applied using a phone number. They have no ability to scan anything on the app itself. It's just a tinge backwards. It's been YEARS since I've visited a Jollibee, and it seems both the individual locations and the brand as a whole have made a lot of upgrades and changes for the better! The kiosk ordering system is a nice convenience, and (specific to the Houston restaurant) the establishment has been renovated for a more modern & minimalist look. Also worth mentioning: The restaurant was clean, and the crew was organized and efficient. Go, H-Town! Now, the food: I don't dislike the spaghetti, but it's still not my cup of tea... I still can't wrap my head or my tastebuds around the sweet & sugary sauce, and the addition of fatty hot dogs just don't do it for me. The adobo rice is overrated, in my option... a lot of garlic and salt, but missing the essence of adobo. I'll also pass on the biscuit next time (dry and didn't have much going on). However, I totally get why the fried chicken has become so viral! Super crispy, but not greasy. Great flavor & seasoning without being obnoxiously salty (think Popeye's cousin who went to college). And, thanks to TikTok, I enjoyed a chicken skin taco (skin stuffed with rice and drown it in brown gravy). Yummmmm! ChickenJoy is definitely where it's at.

I would double check with staff for dairy content of the sauce/toasted bun if that is important for you. Food: food was great! Burger was thick, juicy, and dripping as I went to town. I like to tell myself that it isn't a good burger unless I feel ugly eating it (hint: I did! You'll need the napkins). Potato bun was perfectly buttered and toasted, with a gentle toast on top as well. The meat was well seasoned and cooked to perfection with crispy, caramelized edges. I'd honestly say this is a better burger than most other large American chains like Red Robin's and the likes. Slut sauce was reminiscent of thousand island dressing. The fries came seasoned in some barbecue seasoned salt. Perfectly salted, with a mild sweetness. But if you want 100% plain fries, you'll likely need to ask. Restaurant: The restaurant was pretty tidy. The lighting was pretty unique -- pink neon and industrial wire caged bulbs. There was variety in the seating arrangement: booths, tables, and high bar dining tables. Every booth had power outlets, and it seems there is a guest wifi network. The music is a bit too loud for me (pop/indiepop) to work here professionally like one would patron a coffee shop. I visited for a mid-week lunch, and given that this joint is open until 2am it'd be much more of a vibe! Service: service was great. Nothing to complain about.
