I was visiting a friend here in Folsom, and she wanted to grab a quick lunch here at Firehouse Subs. Normally I'm not a fan of fast food sandwich shops, like Subway or Port a Subs. But I say OK, and we go in. I just went with something simple, a turkey sub. The sandwich looked decent, but biting in,I could tell there was something missing ... just seemed kind of bland and could have used some MSG or something! I was really here to visit with my friend, so I can forgive the food, it wasn't the highlight of the visit. I guess some people like sandwich places like this, but not really my choice of a quick lunch.

This was my first time visiting Firehouse Subs EVER & I am so glad I did , today's NAME OF THE DAY was "FA" "LA", they run promotions on their Instagram with different names during December & today was a great day to be FAbioLA . Upon arrival I was greeted by a young lady who also took my order & made my sandwich , she had a smile on her face the whole time . ( receipt shows host: "Daya") WHAT I GOT Medium Turkey Bacon Ranch w/wheat bread : 5/5 The bread was nice and soft & the meat was warm with the perfect amount of everything This is what it comes with : Smoked turkey breast, bacon, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, and creamy peppercorn ranch dressing & a pickle spear on the side Bowl of Chicken & Dumplings : 4/5 The soup was HOT not WARM and I appreciate that , the peas in it weren't too tasty but worth trying Overall the restaurant is spotless and clean , they have CONTACTLESS Coca Cola vending machine that is pretty cool & something to brag about . I will definitely come back ,I look forward to trying more items & special shout out to the crew tonight for being friendly and keeping the store in top tier shape .

First time there. First impressions were really favorable. Nice, open, clean-looking with fun fire station decor. Staff were really nice too! Alas.... Had one of their medium hot subs and was very disappointed. Pretty pricey for a wee bit of meat and large slathering of Mayo and mustard. Definitely NOT worth the price, unfortunately. It's a shame. Their catering menu looked great and I was hoping to use them for a large group outing I've got planned. Alas, don't think that's gonna happen. I might try a cold sub before deciding. But the size, price and quality of the sandwich I got really makes me hesitant to try them again. Sigh

Food and service was great! Had the prime rib sandwich with sweet potato fries! Yummy reasonable price too!

Review of my first time visiting a Firehouse Subs restaurant. This location is on Bidwell near Blue Ravine. Parking lot right in front. Clean, bright and cheerful decorations with a Firehouse theme. They have sandwiches, soups and salads. The man who waited on us was very helpful and explained the menu/process, etc. The sandwiches are toasted or cold - your choice. They have three sizes of sandwiches to choose from. There are TONS and TONS of toppings options, sauces, cheese, etc to choose from. You can truly customize your sandwich and they make it easy to do so. I like that. I had a Hook and Ladder sandwich combo with chips and a drink. It was quite delicious and tasty and I would definitely order the hook and ladder again. The small sandwich is really small. I would suggest a medium. The only reason this is not five stars is the price. Two medium sandwiches, two chips and two sodas is about $25.

I ordered a medium Bobbie Sandwich. The Bobbie is a Turkey with Cranberry Sauce and stuffing on the sandwich. Very good and the Turkey is shredded verse sliced which added a nice texture to the sandwich. The medium size is a good sized sandwich. The four of us enjoyed our selections and meals and said we would all revisit this place.

"Sounds good," I heard so across the parking lot was WCSD. In we go. Ordered two 6" BLT, no chips, cookies, or drinks, had water. Over $25.00. After waiting a fair amount of time, the order was ready (there was nobody in the place except three employees.) I brought the pie tins that they serve on to our table. They looked a little flat....odd. After I was seated, I lifted the top off of the sandwich, and where is the tomato? The sandwich was cut in half, so I looked at the other side, it looked the same. Upon further inspection there was ONE 2" diameter slice of tomato on each half of sandwich, approximately 1/8" thick. No kidding. The bacon was some very flat pre made stuff that was resembling aluminum foil in thickness. The lettuce was shreadded into long stripe and was wilty. I went back into the empty store and showed the sandwich maker my open sandwich and asked where the tomato was. She graciously stuck her lingers and thumb into my open sandwich, lifted the bacon and lettuce and proudly said "There it is!" (She did have gloves on. God only knows what she had handled with them on) A supervisor came up and asked what the problem was. I explained that there were no tomatoes on my sandwich. He explained that was how they make them. He offered additional tomato slices, I did not take them. The point is-That was the standard that they serve. It was just ridiculous. Not coming back.

Some food memories stick with you. Not just the "that was good" kind... I'm talking about the kind…read morethat randomly pops into your head weeks later like, "man... those meatballs though." That was exactly what happened after my first visit here. Those meatballs lived rent-free in my brain, so coming back was an easy call. Earlier in the day we took a nice walk around Folsom Lake with some friends. Fresh air, good conversation, and by the time we wrapped up everyone had that universal look of "okay... where are we eating?" As we drove back and passed Dominick's it was one of those moments where the decision basically made itself. I was like yep... this is happening. Pulling up I noticed the line was out the door, which honestly is the Italian restaurant version of a five-star Yelp wink. A line like that usually means something good is happening inside. The place itself has a great vibe and you can tell people genuinely love this spot. While waiting I looked around the shop area and noticed they have wines available for purchase. One bottle caught my eye immediately... a 100-point rated wine. For anyone who knows wine, that's basically the culinary equivalent of a mic drop. A perfect score from top critics is rare air. Naturally I did what any responsible food lover would do... I snagged it. A 2020 Super Tuscan that felt like finding hidden treasure on a shelf. The young lady behind the counter was an absolute delight. Super friendly, welcoming, and she even laughed at one of my dad jokes... which means either it was actually funny or she deserves an Oscar. Either way, great hospitality all around. The food came out and the table looked like a proper Italian feast. We had the meatballs, calzones, a chicken panini, and the coleslaw salad. My friends were loving everything. Plates were disappearing fast which is always a good sign. Now for the moment I had been waiting for... the meatballs. They were still good, but they didn't quite pop the way they did in my memory. You know that nostalgic flavor that takes you right back to the first bite you ever had? That lightning bolt moment? I was hoping for that same flavor encore. This time it felt more like the band playing an acoustic version of the hit song. Still enjoyable... just missing a little of that original fireworks. But hey, every great restaurant gets an off day, and honestly the overall experience was still a great stop. Good food, great hospitality, and a place that clearly has a loyal following. And those meatballs? I'm confident they'll make their comeback tour. When they do... best believe I'll be back for the encore.

Dominick's has excellent sandwiches at their Italian deli!…read more The bread for their sandwiches is so fresh and rustic. All of their selection sounded so good. I could hardly choose. We had the Chicken Cutlet Parmagian and the Big Daddy, (roast beef and mozzarella with marinated red bell peppers.). We were really hungry so we each had a large sandwich. They cut it in half we were stuffed to just eating the 1/2 of the sandwich and took the rest home for leftovers. We also had some of the mixed olives and cheese from their deli case to snack on with our sandwiches. It was wonderful. They used a really good olive oil in their marinade. It's been many years since I tried the restaurant side, but I remember it being so wonderful and authentic. I can't wait to try that again soon too.
