I always order the Italian sub (w/ no mustard) and always REALLY love it!! There is never a long line at this location and the staff has always been friendly! They have a little hot sauce bar located on top of the front counter (I'm a little bit obsessed with their house, hot/bbq sauce.) My only complaint is that 80% of all of the other hot sauces they offer are always empty. The bottles themselves could probably use a wipe down too cuz everything get's kind of sticky and yuk. Normally have a good experience here, the food is great! However, today I went in and they were busy, and two workers started arguing fairly loudly in front of everyone because there were about 6 mess ups in a row for customers. I didn't see any name tags, but one worker (he said his name was charlie, I believe) was able to get everyone to stop arguing, and sorted out all of the orders while everyone else seemed to be scrambling around clueless. The subs are beyond delicious. I always, always get the chicken sub. It never fails to satisfy my appetite. Aside from the food being delicious, they have great customer service. They never fail to great me the second I open the door. What I also like about Firehouse is the owner, he is always present and so involved. He just doesn't go and supervise like most owners. The food is really great! I ordered 3 times off door dash and my order was wrong every time. I recommend placing a phone order or just going in person. This place is ALWAYS busy. Let me start by saying that I love Firehouse Sub sandwiches, so despite any objections I might have about their service, I will continue eating their food--even at this location, as I do regularly. But it needs to be said: this particular franchise store has the most bizarrely lax atmosphere. It is to the point of being cavalier. Granted, the staff is not overtly discourteous, nor do I take personal offense at it, but they do seem oddly apathetic. For example, as you approach a restaurant counter, you normally expect to be at least half-heartedly greeted by an at least half-way attentive cashier. Instead, the staff at this store will just stare at you blankly with one of their arms folded across their chest and with their chin resting in the hand of their other arm. It's almost as if they expect you to lead the ordering process. But, like I said, their food is great and the staff are generally accurate and fast, which is what matters most to me. read more

I had heard a lot of really good things about this chain by a few of my friends and decided to give it a try. I went last night for dinner with a friend and got a sub to go. I ordered a grilled chicken sub (custom) and got the medium size. Comparable to a subway, they have many sand which combos and you have the option to "build your own". One thing I noticed is that employees have good training, and communicate well. The ordering process was smooth, and easy. The restaurant was clean both in the lobby and behind the counter. I was in the area after dropping my boyfriend off at school, and decided to go to Yelp for help - my stomach was growling! Being very close to OCC and having great ratings, Firehouse Subs popped up first on the list. Sandwiches are my all-time favorite (with Mexican food neck-and-neck) so I was excited to see something with so many positive reviews that was right up my alley! You guys. This is the real deal. You should definitely check this place out. Okay, okay, back to my visit! I walk in, and everyone greets me. All the staff seems to be in a great mood -- friendly, chatty with guests, not once seen without a smile, even without the immediate presence of a guest. The manager comes out at one point and is conversing with guests and employees - everyone seems to be treated well here. Holly greets me at the register at the far end of the building - the layout feels a little odd, but it also makes sense. She asks if I've ever been to Firehouse Subs before and I tell her no. She gives me the lowdown on their sandwiches, what being Fully Involved includes, tells me about add-ons and extras, how I can make my own custom subs, and thanks me at the end for listening. She was so nice! She even checked up on me during my meal to ask how it was. (Delicious, of course.) I took a few minutes to decide, seeing as there are tons of amazing looking options. Everything looked yummy and there were a lot of unique options. Ten hot specialty subs and about ten options between the under-500-cal and salad options. All of those were definitely on the table, too! It all looked so good. I decided finally on the Club on a Sub on honey wheat: smoked turkey breast, Virginia honey ham, bacon, Monterey Jack, Fully Involved. I added jalapeños. Almost got a cookie because they're sitting smack dab there in front of the register smelling all freakin' delicious and fresh-baked cookie like. Holly confirms my order like a pro and asks if I'd like to round up on my bill to the next dollar and donate the extra change to their Public Safety Foundation. Had to oblige, it's too easy not to! I sat for probably three-to-four minutes after checking out their very impressive collection of hot sauces available. They're each rated on a capsaicin scale from 0-10 and had a lot of unique looking sauces. Normally I'd be tempted, but I didn't want to detract from the sub's natural taste. Oh, that sub.... the moment was finally here!! Once it came, it didn't last long! I had to hold back and maintain some decency in public, but it was so good I just wanted to take huge bites, even though my mouth is still in a world of pain from a dentist trip this morning, haha. SERIOUSLY. So good. That bread! They only have white or honey wheat to choose from, but who cares? Because it's so bomb you don't need any other option. It was warm and soft and was pretty much everything you'd want in bread. Lettuce, tomato, mustard, mayo, jalapeños, they were great team players, very fresh and complemented well, but... Ahhh... the meats were fantastic and plentiful and everything went together so well! The bacon was perfect, stacked on top with just the tiniest bit of crunch, it was good and fatty. That ham and turkey ... so many delicious, thick folds. Mmm! It was a little messy, being loaded up so good and all. The cheese was tasty and melty, not too much put on, so I kind of wished I had a liiiittle bit more, but no regrets! None! Except maybe not getting that cookie. I grabbed a menu on the way out to show my boyfriend (I KNOW he is gonna want to try the New York Steamer - it's corned beef brisket and pastrami) and noticed a cookie is only $0.75! If I had known that then, I don't think I could have resisted. Oh, and there was a dill pickle served on the side, yay! My $8 could not have been better spent. Let m start this off by telling all my temper friends that I am NOT a sandwich person .... But I crave Firehouse subs at least once a week now ! Think of this place as the Chick Fil A of sandwiches ! It's always clean and the service is genuine and friendly . They're really involved in the community and they're really kid friendly ! Each kid gets a plastic fire hat lol that's cool ! ? If this is your first time trying this franchise I really recommend trying it at THIS LOCATION ! I'm so glad my first time was at this location . ( I took my boyfriend to the Laguna hills location and it wasn't the same lol so I had to take him to lunch again to this location since I was raving about it soooo much ) It's in a really good location but watch out for parking during lunch hours ! The parking spots are pretty tight ! That's the only con .... I always order the Hook and Ladder and don't forget to add salt pepper and vinegar and oil AND they have like ten million sauces out for you to try lol ! Also I don't feel bad getting the combo because they have the new coke machine with like ten million different drink options And their chip selection is amazing lol . I also LOVE that the order of this location gives you $2 off for a yelp check in . The owner is always here working as well and he's super friendly ! They are pretty small but filling. The regular is about the size if subways 6inc but thinner. They do overload on the sauces they use so if you don't like soggy bread be sure to let them know.
