I would give the service -1 star if I could. We came here for my birthday. It was fairly empty. We ordered our food and drinks and didn't see our server basically the remainder of our time there. We actually had to get up and move our table ourselves because it was so hot and we were sweating and we hadn't seen the server in a long time to ask to move. The food was not great. I'm pretty sure out of 6 of us dining, none of us really liked our food or finished it. When it came time for us to pay the bill, after trying to flag down the waitress for over 25 mins; we got up and searched for the server in the restaurant. As a server that's so embarrassing to not be available and present when you have genuinely 1-2 tables. I will not be returning nor recommending this establishment. read more

Definitely a local place to hang out. Streetwise seating downstairs and 'lounge around' seating in the 'Apres Ski' themed upstairs bar. We arrived at happy hour Sunday foe a cocktail. They had a DJ and we're quite busy. Hostess service a little sparce and bar service not super attentive. However, the security and ID check-in guys were super friendly and thanked us for.stopping in. Great decor. Loved the vibe. read more

Spent hundreds of dollars on mediocre brunch here. They would not let me bring my bag in, they took it and said they would keep it safe. After I picked it up I noticed that they went through it and stole my valuables. Unacceptable! Avoid this place at all costs. read more

This is such a fun spot! I haven't eaten here yet, but they always have great events - everything from dating meet-and-greets to DJ nights. I came on Sunday, and the place was packed. The energy was awesome, and the staff members were all super friendly. My only complaint is the drink selection. The beer list is pretty limited, and the wines are on the cheaper side. Other than that, it's a great place to hang out and enjoy the vibe. read more

Food was good, creme brule french toast was pretty darn good and would go back just for that, my lady tried two different cocktails and neither was very good, service was also good and friendly but that security guard guy/bouncer makes things awkward at the door. We came here on Saturday and let me tell you that we had the worst service I've had in a while. The ambiance was good but the service absolutely killed it for us. We had a drink and had to leave because we felt so unwelcomed. The 2 female bartenders need some sort of customer service training. We observed them talking about customers and being rude when people asked if they could change the tv football game. We were told to sit at the bar by the staff if we weren't ordering food but when we did the bartenders kept removing the chairs to sit at. They made it very clear that they didn't want our business. read more

A long walk on the beach and then..... hungry hits. We saw the Firehouse and went in. We were greeters with a huge smile amd were seated immediately. We order the Philly a cheesesteak and the Mediterranean Wrap both of which a ten out of ten. The drinks were good and the service was as good as you could want it to be. The atmos upstairs was way loud and a huge party type thing but downstairs was better and more sedate. And. You. Any beat the ocean view while dining. It was so good my dining partner had a party All be himself. Yep. True. Go. Enjoy and have your own epicurean party. read more

Food is similar to any other bar/ restaurant. The flavor is definitely good and right upstairs is the DJ and dance floor. You need to be 21 to go upstairs and for drinks but all ages are welcome to dine in. They have a great location and very good service! read more

I used to love this place. I was really disappointed from my recent visit. The two cocktails I ordered were awful. I had the watermelon margarita. Barely you can taste the tequila and it did not taste like watermelon. The bartender was being very stingy. I noticed they measure everything but it looks like they under measure. I ordered another cocktail. Again, couldn't taste the alcohol. It was a Red Bull vodka. All I could taste was the Red Bull that then became watered down because of all the ice in my cup. I informed the waitress. She took it personal. She didn't offer to have my drink remade. She said the bartenders have been there for years; defending them. Then she dropped off the check. Didn't ask if we needed anything else. She looked upset. It's ok to give feedback. I used to enjoy this spot. However, the team wasn't open to feedback. If the drinks were better, this place would be packed since it's a great location and vibe. Unfortunately, the waitress defended the bartender. They must be good friends. The only way they will improve is if they accept constructive feedback. I will not be returning. Poor customer service from waitress. Drinks were $15. Couldn't taste the alcohol. I went to Mavericks afterwards. Drinks were cheaper and much better. I had a French martini. Amazing. The waitress was really awesome there. Highly recommend and music was better. DJ Dom King did great there! read more

Amazing service and food. the servers Brooklyn and Mattie were both so kind, thoughtful and knowledgeable about the menu and gave us exceptional ser all throughout the night. We came on back to back nights and both nights everyone in our party was blow away by how great the service was. The bar manager Louis was also excellent and made us the best drinks we have ever had. He was very funny, engaging and really took the time to connect with us while we were there. We'll definitely be back! read more

Established in 2007.

There's Nascar American & there's American Chic, although we occasionally drink like the former, we design like the latter. For many years the original "Firehouse Cafe" stood on this spot & became a local legend. After some time passed, a couple of name & ownership changes, the restaurant/bar fell into disrepair - left sad, broken-down & unloved, the two current owners, both San Diego residents purchased what was left of the business with pretty much all they had. picture4Realizing Pacific Beach was growing up, their vision was to create a Retro-American-Chic version of the original ... to bridge the gap between the swanky Miami-style lounges & the warm cozy vibe of Pacific Beach.

I'm just extremely disappointed with how poor my experience was today because I had only super positive experiences previously and was looking forward to dining there this morning after sometime away, but holy hell ....today's experience has been so profoundly bad. Firstly, my husband ordered two breakfast burritos - one with bacon and the other with bacon on the side. I'll chalk this one up to miscommunication, but they put bacon in one, and bacon in the other too - and then added bacon on the side to the other and charged us $5.50 for the extra bacon. Again, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt here and will be sure to communicate explicitly next time. They kindly made me a new one, but the new one had potatoes that weren't cooked thoroughly (likely to rush the food to me, so I acknowledge the difficulty here), however there was hardly any avocado. I literally had to complain again because I didn't believe there was any avocado at all. I wouldn't be as pissed if this weren't an EIGHTEEN DOLLAR breakfast burrito. Lastly, the coffee lids don't fit on the cups. We tried to put one on and ended up spilling the entire coffee. I chalked this up to an accident on our part, however another patron who observed our incident said "their lids don't fit the cup, right??" And I was like "oh so it wasn't just us??" And she was like "no, I almost spilled mine all over too." This random patron encouraged us to ask for a new cup of coffee as a result (thanks, random patron!). The Molly's team did kindly make us a new (albeit quite bitter) drink, which I appreciate. However, the lid was still an issue - it would spill out of the cup all over the rim between the cup and the lid when I'd try to take a sip, so I took off the lid entirely, but then was stuck with dealing with spills while walking around - I had to move at a snail's pace to prevent spills altogether. This was easier to deal with random leakage around the entire cup every time I'd sip with the lid on. Ultimately It was just a lose-lose with the ill fitting lid situation. All this to say - Molly's Team, yall were fantastic just a month ago. What happened? I understand food and services in the beach area stuff are often expensive and rarely good, but you guys are *too* expensive for this poor of service and quality. Two stars because at least the folks there are generally nice.

Side note, you might want to wear gloves or eat with knife and fork as you'll be using a lot of napkins for sure (haha) I will continue to show the love for this place and enjoy this as one of my "special treat meals". tried food here for the first time and wasn't impressed, we got the chips and guac and it was…read moreessentially just mashed avocado, did not have any flavor. needed so much lime and salt. the drinks were good though! but guac needs a lot of work. also when we got sat it took probably 15 min to get our waters and a long time to put our food/drinks in. it was busy but still we were hoping for more efficient service. our waitress was super nice though.

We brought a friend from out of town to enjoy this place, which they did! We are all currently sober so we got all their mocktails which was a good little variety! We got the Planet Hollywood, Amalfi Spritz, Ka Wai Olada, and a mocktail of our servers choosing (and he knocked it out of the park!). We also got the crispy cauliflower, ham and cheese bites, and mozzerella arancini. Everything came out beautiful and delicious! I'll run through everything. Planet Hollywood: absolutely stunning! Delicious and bright, everyone's favorite Amalfi Spritz: definitely need to be an aperol fan but overall beautiful drink Ka Wai Olada: tropical and refreshing Bartneders Choice: cucumber mint drink was AMAZING and exactly what is needed after a hot day, it should be on the menu!! Crispy cauliflower: everyone's favorite! So flavorful and crispy and the yogurt goes with it so well. Mozzarella arancini: delicious Ham and cheese bites: a little too small, kind of dry, but good flavors. Probably won't get again. Also HUGE shout out to our server who was absolutely phenomenal and made the entire experience amazing. We love sober options in a bar! I'm sorry your name is slipping my mind. But you made the experience! Will continue to frequent!

The obvious lots on either side are reserved for other businesses. Staff were very friendly - the perfect balance between helpful and leaving us alone. The only food complaint was the wings appetizer was a bit boring. Porkchop and cauliflower were cooked perfectly. Margaritas were good. Creme brulee dessert was perfect size for 2. I don't go to PB often and there's lots in this area but I'd consider going again. We thought the EDM playlist was unique and an unexpectedly good choice while still being plenty quiet for conversation.

In addition to classic margaritas, Guava Beach also has a variety of unique margaritas! I ordered the Pink Dragon made with Nosotros Reposado, Triple Sec, dragon fruit syrup, Guava Beach's own custom-made margarita mix with a black lava salt rim and topped with a dragon fruit wheel garnish - sooo good! They also have an extensive cocktail list. We got some appetizers, including the waffle fries (massive portions) and chips and guacamole, which were both delicious! Definitely will be back to try more margs soon!

We love this location and often choose this Brigantine over the other locations, because you can't beat the views and the atmosphere. It was our lucky night, because we found parking right away, but I have had experiences in the past where parking took a good 30 minutes. We have also had times where we choose not to go, because we just don't want to deal with parking, but not going means we are missing out on some pretty amazing food. Our server was OUTSTANDING (I believe his name was Josh). He made our night enjoyable and was super patient with our large party! We got the surf and turf special that he recommended and OH MY GOSH....I need to eat it again! I could not get enough; the lobster was so good and flavorful. For appetizers, we did start with the Brussel sprouts and the French onion soup and both were PHENOMENAL. The French onion didn't have the crunch and a lot of cheese like others, but the flavor was amazing! For drinks, I was having their Old Fashions and they were soooo tasty. Was the perfect drink for the night. Dessert, we had a Mud Pie and Apple Crisp. The only thing we were disappointed with was the apple crisp, because we wanted it to be warmer and a little more crispier, but it truly did taste like Thanksgiving in your mouth! I should have taken more pictures, but we were too excited for our dishes, so we just dove right in! Gives me another reason to go back!
