Mike was involved with the whole project; demo, waterproofing, tile installation, installing a toilet, and fixtures. He is easy to work with and provides good recommendations for options or improvements that can be made. I ask a lot of questions, and he was happy to answer them all and explain patiently. He has a good eye and pays attention to small details that make the final product come out really nice. Other parts of the project like plumbing, electrical and stone countertops Mike has people he works with to complete the job seamlessly. They cut, polished, and installed a quartzite countertop and sink, added plumbing for the shower, and installed a glass shower door. Overall, the project was completed quickly. Mike was a pleasure to work with and we look forward to future tile projects.

We were impressed with Flavia's knowledge and professionalism when she came to review the project for the estimate. She asked questions to understand our needs and wants. She patiently listened and answers our questions. During the installation, Flavia came out a few times to ensure everything was going well. She also helped find just the right transition pieces to work with the existing flooring outside the baths. The installation was a two day process. It went very smoothly and was handled in a way that caused the least amount of disruption for us. Our installer was skilled and did a great job not only with the tile, but with new baseboard and a new toilet installation in one of the baths. He was great to work with. Flavia came out one last time after the installation to ensure everything was good and that we were happy with the result. Pro Floors' cost estimate was in the middle of the three estimates we received. But, our choice was based more on our experience during the initial visit than anything else. We were not disappointed. We are very happy with the quality work and service we received, and definitely got our money's worth.

The quote process was efficient and painless. The installation team was courteous and conscientious. They made the removal of old carpet and tile painless - it was all gone in 1 morning, ready for new wood floor installation. They were able to put floor balancing material and moisture barrier the same day. They worked with us on a tricky moulding situation in our kitchen that allowed us to have a seemless look throughout our home. In one day, the team was able to install all the floors and baseboards with amazing speed - moving our washer and dryer (and replacing it too!). The final product was PERFECTLY installed. The quote matched the payment and we are very satisfied with the price and end product. We highly recommend the entire team at Pro Floors.

Best Flooring Experience Ever - California Carpets & Design Center Deserves 10 Stars!…read more I wish I could give more than 5 stars because California Carpets & Design Center in Rocklin truly went above and beyond for us. From start to finish, this was hands-down the best home-improvement experience we've ever had. Our house was built in 1977 and still had the original carpets (yes, the same shag-tastic, 40+ year-old carpets the previous owner installed in the early 80s). It was desperately dated and in need of a total refresh. As we moved to the area from out of town, we didn't know anyone in the local flooring industry. All we knew was that we needed our floors completely replaced. California Carpets came recommended and using them was one of the best decisions we made. The owner personally spent hours with us, patiently showing options, explaining the pros and cons of different materials, helping us choose colors that would complement our new paint, and ultimately helping us find a gorgeous, high-quality laminate that looks like real hardwood but was surprisingly affordable. No pressure, no upselling... just honest, expert guidance. The installation crew was phenomenal: professional, meticulous, and genuinely careful in our home. They treated it like it was their own house. When everything was done, the transformation was jaw-dropping--our 1977 time capsule now feels modern, bright, and completely updated. A few very minor things came up after installation (nothing major, just tiny tweaks you only notice once you live with it), and when I called, they were back out within days--no hassle, no extra charge, and zero attitude. They genuinely wanted us to be 100% thrilled, and now we are. If you're looking for beautiful flooring, fair pricing, incredible customer service, and a local business that still believes in doing things the right way, go with California Carpets & Design Center in Rocklin. The owner and her team are absolute gems, and we couldn't be happier with our "new" home. Thank you for making a stressful project so easy and, frankly, enjoyable! I recommend them without reservation!

The work took 2X as long and he did not do the work as he communicated and was a terrible communicator throughout the project. If you want more details, see below: Contracted West Coast Flooring (Andrey) to sand and refinish floors. Andrey advised they would remove and reinstall the toilets. We emptied the house. Work that was to take about 1 week ended up taking 2 weeks. We would randomly stop by during the sanding process and find no one there but we were assured they would finish on time. The workers clearly worked hard when they were there but it was apparent they were not dedicated to completing this job in one push. Because we were not living in the house anymore, we had flexibility on time. However, from the start, WE were the ones notifying Andrey that things were not at the stage where they should be given his timelines. Throughout the project, Andrey resisted communicating status, revised timelines, surfacing obstacles and preferred to hide the details of the work from us. There is definitely a cultural bias here toward appearing strong and masking the finer details that are germane and material to homeowners. As it turns out the workers decided to take a pedestal sink out of the bathroom as well as its toilet. We only learned later that they did NOT in fact remove the toilet in the back of the house and never told us this. After 2.5 weeks they completed the work in early October and the floors looked much improved. We did have them replace word for a transition between the kitchen and back porches which were floored in pine that they did in a rainforest wood with mahogany grain nothing like the clear pine of the floors on either side so it stuck out like a sore thumb in the center of the flow in the back half of the house. On the whole their floor work was worth what we paid. Their project management, communication and transparency were NOT. And if you can live with people like this, enjoy the product. But we had a plumbing problem from their work I will describe. When the floor refinishing was complete, we put the empty house on the market for 6 weeks. During this time no one lived there or used the toilets or sinks. We decided to rent the house out rather than fight a failing housing market. The tenants moved in 3 weeks later. By this time the work had been completed about 50 days before the tenants moved in. As soon as they did, they reported a pool of pool of water in the basement under the back toilet and the master bathroom sink was leaking all over the new floor. We called in a licensed plumber who charged $250 per hour the normal rate in California post-Covid for a professional, not a handyman. He found the toilet in the back had not been seated correctly. I asked the plumber to reseat that toilet and the main one as well as fix the leaking sink. As it turns out the main toilet's mounting bolts had been damaged when the flooring crew removed or replaced it. The plumber also found that the sink drain was cracked in 3 places and its pedestal was not mounted to the basin. This took 9 hours to fix, so about $2025. I raised this issue to Andrey and ONLY THEN did he inform me that they had decided not to take out the back toilet and not tell me....so that toilet's problem was not his fault. He admitted that the main toilet and sink were touched by his team so he would begrudgingly pay half the repair cost. He then began to argue that I should have called him to make the repairs (the people who caused the issue in the first place), and then belittled me for paying $250 for a plumber which he said "only lawyers make that much". Despite this, he agreed in writing over text to send me a check. One week later, no check. Surprise! I texted him and he said he would check and I had to remind him again to check. He then claimed he mailed a check. 10 days later no check. Surprise! I texted him and he won't respond. I consulted with a tax attorney who advised I submit to the IRS a 1099-NEC to advise the IRS of the work. I asked Andrey for an address to send a copy to him as required for this to and he again would not respond.
