I went throught Home Depot, Yuba City location and was referred by Lowell (HD designer) in the cabinets department as his best guy Vitaly: owner of PowerUp Construction who has a contract with HD. Roman who came and completed the initial measurements for a different idea that I had only because I have a new build and wasn't sure of the idea of a walkin was doable at the moment and I didn't want to void the warranty of my new floors by cutting into my floors for a built in dinningroom buffet. So I explained to him what I truly wanted was walk in pantry but didn't know where to start. So he checked my pantry and garage after he completed the initial measurements for the buffet. He checked with his lead Vitaly who came and check it out made sure everything was ok and said they could expand my pantry instead. They both came back and checked it out and then did a finally measurements and then all of the info was sent to Lowell. They started the work and had inspections done throught the process and even got done ahead of schedule. Next I met with Lowell in design where we went through ideas of what I wanted, types of cabinets, design ideas etc. Lowell also handled all of the paperwork, finacials, and kept things on track with all the steps and appointments We met a few times throught the process up until the final design was approved and the ordering of the items that were needed were delivered to my home. Once the items were delivered Roman and Eugene made sure everything was delivered and in good condition and came back and went to work. This was my first experience with any type of renovations for my home and I am so glad that I did and it turned out great. Now I have plans for my master bathroom to get done and I will definitely will be going with Powerup again! We just completed a large remodel including removing 4 walls, adding windows, doors and relocating everything in our kitchen. Along the way we found out rafters and uneven subfloors had to be replaced, and the usual problems with a 75 year old home. Eugene and Roman were beyond wonderful, and a fantastic team! Eugene was here every single day, he came early and left late, and at the end of the day the site was always clean. Eugene is a perfectionist and didn't miss one single detail and even offered suggestions for things we never would've have thought of, and we loved his ideas. There is nothing Eugene can't do! Roman is a great listener and pro-active with every aspect of the job. We never had to wait for equipment or supplies so there was never any down time. The service we had was extensive. It involved installing new cabinents, new appliances, and new floors as the carpet was ripped in an old 70 year old cabin. They found that the house floor wasn't level, etc. They replaced the entire floor. They did a fantastic job. The install was difficult as the floor wasn't level- a 6" difference between the walls. They custom cut the ordered cabinets. They were very skilled and did very high quality work. I would highly recommend them. read more

***Because my house project will take a few days to complete, this will be a long review as I will summarize each days event. **I reached out to a few construction companies via Yelp to checkout and give us an estimate for our house project. We needed to replace the top of a window frame approximately 48" long because of dry rot. We live in a two-story house, so this frame could be connected to the houses' support beam. We also have mold on the dry wall inside the room which the window is connected to. Vitaliy came over and assess the work that needed to be done and to give us his quote. It was a very reasonable price, and lower than any other contractors that made their visit, so I was a little hesitant, until reading the yelp reviews. Ultimately, the decision was made by my father in law. Vitaliy said the job will take 2 days to complete. I really anticipate 4 days, assuming weather is good during the time. Also, I know he'll subcontract others to do some work. *I must note, like any contractor will tell you that you can anticipate extra charges due to when they really start digging in and tearing the place apart. IE: if they start removing the dry wall and noticed there is more damage inside then what they initially visually examined. 9/25: Vitaliy showed up the time he said he was going to. After a few signed paperwork, they started to work right away. Vitality asked if we wanted to replace the window, so my father in law agreed to it. They spent the whole day, but the new window is installed. 9/27: They showed up the time they said they were to work on the application of stucco on the outside of the house. They removed the old stucco and put the fence and material between the walls. Thus far they left for the day with the fence (as pictured) exposed. 9/28: No one showed up. Though there was no communication on whether or not someone will be in or not. Weather is not an issue as it was perfect with clear skies. 9/29: Someone showed up early to complete the outside stucco. I received a call shortly after about tomorrow's plan: Complete the outside (paint/stucco) and start on the inside (mold/wall removal). 9/30: They showed up at the time they said they would and a team worked on mold inside one of the rooms. They did a good job today. I believe all that needs to be done is painting and the final touches. Not sure when anyone will be back or what really needs to be done, but I'm assuming no one will be over tomorrow (sunday). 10/2: No one came over or called. I guess I'll have to call tomorrow 10/3: I got a call from Vitaliy around 7:30am. He said the guys will be over soon to work on the outside stucco. He also mentioned that tomorrow, another team will finish the outside and inside of the room. Hopefully the project will be done. The team came over around 9am and been working on the outside frame and stucco pretty much the whole work day. The frame is styrofoam with a cement coating. It feels pretty solid. Yes, there will be no future rotting, but is it weather proof? Will it last? I don't know as time will tell. 10/4: Someone came by around 930am to spend the whole day painting the outside and inside of the room. He matched the colors and went to Home Depot for the paint. He also installed the interior trim of the room. He cleaned up well after himself as he left. OVERALL (1): So it took about 7 working days to complete, more than double what I anticipated and triple of what I've been told. I felt the workers did a good job. The thing thing that was majorly lacking was communication. Like it was fortunate that I came down with the cold so I was home sick for the first half of the project. The other days I had plans that I canceled to stay at the house so the work can be done. Note this is my review, even though my in-laws are paying for the project. Though I'd always asked my in laws if anyone from Power Up contacted them during this process. It would appear that the contact was always made through me. I hope to update this review as the last few pictures shows that the work is incomplete due to bad misalignment of the outside trim as it is not fully flushed with the house. ***UPDATE:*** 10/9: Vitaliy showed up himself to complete the 'unfinished' business that was shown in some of my pictures... He is filling the gap from the outside trim (pictured) and will comeback in a few days to match the end trim pieces. He wants all his customers to be happy, of course, so He puts in the time. 10/13: Vitaliy showed up with lumber in hand to make the trim proportional to the rest of the trim. All that needs to be done is the paint which he will get to next week. I'll have updated pictures when that happens. Great and speedy work this morning. read more

We made a decision to remodel our kitchen and using Home Depot as our source.having been in our home since 1972.Home Depot would manage the project and pay when all facets of the job were completed to our satisfaction. We dealt on a cash basis making sure that all the work would be done properly.In turn PowerUp was the company used by Home Depot.As the primary Home Depot did the design and also did the ordering for the cabinets. PowerUp manager(?) Roman as the face of PU came to our home and explained the process . He was just so knowledgeable and was just amazing at going through the desisgn and build of the cabinets. He introduced Eugene as the person that would actually do the demo of our kitchen and the prep for the new cabinets for install. The cabinets arrived Roman and Eugene began the inspection of the cabinets for damage and found that there was damage to doors and anchor cabinets which actually slowed the project waiting for replacement cabinets. Home Depot handled all paperwork for ordering. The cabinets where installed and the work done was excellent Roman and Eugene explained along the way any changes and involved us in those decisions.PowerUp did an amazing job and just so pleased that Roman and Eugene were so kind to us . I want to shower special praise on the construction firm that is currently partnering with the Arden Home Depot store, Power Up Construction, who did our wonderful kitchen remodel. Vitaliy was terrific to work with and his team of Max and Vlad were excellent. They got us on their calendar quickly, always showed up when they said they would, put in many long days and did high quality work while completing the job in a remarkably short amount of time. The whole job took one day shy of four weeks when, based on past experiences, we had been braced for a 6-8-week process. When we ran up against the usual snafus in any job this large, they came up with creative solutions that improved the overall design and functionality. I also want to commend, particularly, the tile job they did on the backsplash. Through past experience, we know not every contractor is skilled at tile work, but Vitaliy's crew was. We used our own electrician and also had a third party do the flooring, but Vitality was great in working with these outside contractors. That helped make the experience pleasant for everyone. Vitality and his team also did a lot of little things just because they are nice people. Since we don't have a pickup, they volunteered to return some unused cabinets to Home Depot for us, they took all the cardboard boxes and waste to recycling or the landfill and diligently cleaned up at the end of each day. It would hard to imagine how the whole remodel could have gone much smoother. And we were able to do this through Home Depot at a price considerably lower than other bids we received. read more

We had some water damage back during the storm month, we hired Powerup Construction to repair the walls, floor and carpet where the water restoration company tore open and dried. The manager Vitaliy was very responsible and detailed orientated. He gave us detailed estimate, and confirmed with us when he order the materials. He respect our time, would let us know ahead if there's any changes of the schedule the next day. The guys did an excellent job of making everything exactly match the rest of the house. Vitaliy helped us plan the layout of our kitchen cabinets, listened to our ideas for the kitchen and offered ideas and suggestions to make it even better (under cabinet lighting, extending the cabinets/counter to add a peninsula with an outlet, etc.). After the initial meeting, he quickly provided a detailed and reasonable quote. When we met to go over the contract, he went over each and every detail and made sure to answer any questions I had. The crew arrived on time every day that they were here, and I was always kept updated on who would be at our house and when. They were all pleasant, respectful, and did a fantastic job! I was not able to be present for a large part of the project, but felt confident that our house was in good hands. Vitaliy did a great job keeping me updated via text, phone calls, and FaceTime to make sure everything was exactly the way we wanted. Example: when they were replacing the light box, he put blue tape on the ceiling and sent me photos so I could approve the new can light locations. Another example of these guys going above and beyond: after our tile backsplash went in, we realized we had forgotten to ask them to remove and tile over an old phone jack that was no longer needed. Vitaly and his crew did an excellent job on our kitchen remodel and flooring replacement through out the house. The work was done in March right as COVID lockdowns began and we were a little worried about getting stuck without a kitchen for months, but Vitaly assured us he would get it done and he did in the timeframe as quoted. The work done included installing vinyl plank flooring, new cabinetry, recessed lighting, installing a range hood, and tile backsplash. Everyone on the crew was very professional and they never showed up late. Communication was excellent and Vitaly was always responsive to our phone calls. I looked them up online and they had terrible reviews and was worried I wasn't going to be able to do the customizations I wanted. I found Vitaly, who used to install IKEA cabinets, and he came over within a week for the bid. I decided to put the cabinets together myself to save some money. Vitaly and crew were patient with change orders, last minute customizations, and making sure my kitchen was the kitchen I was dreaming of. Work included cabinet install, deco trim, drywall repair, plumbing, floor install, custom island build (I designed), custom coffee bar area, and tile. I will say, his tile guy Eugene was amazing. A master at his craft for sure. Vitaly can be difficult to get ahold of at times but he's a busy man who works hard and has a family, so I get that. I have been using PowerUp Construction for the last several years. Recently I hired PowerUp Construction for my fourth project. Vitaliy is very professional, courteous and responsive. Recently I hired him to replace a tub surround in my rental with quartz. The job was finished quickly as there was only one bathroom in the home. After the tenants moved out, I hired PowerUp to put matching quartz countertops in the kitchen. They came out beautiful. This past week, I hired PowerUp to repair all the baseboards in another rental that were damaged by the tenants. He also went through a punch list of things that I needed fixed. Lastly, he installed quartz countertops in the kitchen which also required disconnecting the plumbing, the garbage disposal, sink, faucet, demo of the original countertops, and removal of the stove and then putting everything back. I had Power Up install an attic pull-down step ladder in my garage. Vitaly looked over the job well before providing an estimate. He was knowledgeable of my different kind of garage rafter construction, had noticed a concern I had also found, then explained how they could still install the ladder per code. Power Up showed up on time for the install. When we noticed a duct might be in the way climbing into the attic, Vitaly worked patiently with me to figure out where to move the ladder location and still meet my needs. Then when he and his assistant installed the ladder, I noticed him checking the instructions closely and paying attention to details.
