First of all, the music was on point, which put me in a good mood, and if there were a dance floor, I would have been all over it. I love the decor and tequila bottle centerpieces, which gives the restaurant a cool vibe. The price is fair, and the food tasted amazing. It's authentic Mexican food with a fusion twist to it! BEWARE OF OVERCHARGE. Always look at your reciept and check your bank if you pay with card!! I loved fireup we supported it through covid and we enjoyed going back many times the last 2 times have been bad however this last visit was the worst ive experienced. We were overcharged to begin with because they assumed we were all intoxicated. Then they charged us their 18% gratuity 2 times on the same bill because we were paying half cash/half card. While we were still ordering drinks and food they took some of our seats from us because they said people were missing, we explained our people were in line for the restroom. I understand you want to seat everyone however we are still ordering food and drinks we were not just sitting around people watching. The longer you stay the waiters start to become rude . One waiter brought us our bill that was over $500 because again we were ordering alot , but i told the waiter we had just ordered another round of drinks and food he said okay that will be another bill which they overcharged us on and AGAIN charged another 18% gratuity. Coming from a family who owns a food business, we say learn to treat your paying customers better, you are in the customer service industry. If you have a large party keep in mind they are bringing in a higher revenue for your business, tell your waitress to not take advantage of overcharging people they assume are intoxicated. We should not have to argue on items we did not order or extra gratuity bieng added and teach them better customer service skills. We will no longer be returning !!! So all the recent bad reviews really aren't lying and I wish I would have followed my gut and went somewhere else...checked in at 8:15pm and was told the wait was going to be two hours. I go ask the hostess why they were seated when she just told us we were next and she states and I quote "owners orders", wtf does that even mean?! After 3 hours and change of Waiting, we finally get seated at 11:30pm l! When checking in at 8! At 11:45 the waiter says she's terribly sorry but we Close at 12 for outside seating and we have to pack it up?! Wtf? You just seated us?! And we just got Our food....Overall if you are gonna come on a weekend after 8 expect to wait 3 plus hours. The hostesses was a joke and even after talking to management he clearly didn't care and just didn't understand where we were coming from. When I explained to him what happen he brought up city codes...that had Nothing to do with my complaint. I just would have appreciated some honesty about the time, letting us know we had 30 min to sit order and eat... Communicate with your team because the hostess didn't know how to do her job. Sunday Brunch review: definitely not enough outdoor space for the amount of people that come to wait, and management sucks at handling their tables--basically, if you're not there by the time they open, good luck getting a table or having enough time to enjoy your $20 mimosas. Sub-par brunch food, you're better off eating at Palenque's brunch across the street where you can make reservations and really enjoy your time. The only positive part of the experience was our waitress-I think her name was Alexis- who is way too good for that place and was apologizing for what everyone knows is the management's lack of running a smooth brunch. She was attentive, quick, and the only reason we got service at all.
