Great beer selection for their own brewing. However they are pretty proud of their beer, kind of expensive for what I would expect. To Go packs were $20 for 4 cans and $30 for a 6 pack. Nothing to me seemed to be worth that much for the beer. Food was good, typical beer/pub food but good quality. Wings were hot as suggested but still good flavor. During German festival on Texas vacation I was at the bar outside and saw a woman with a baby who had clearly need help. Doing it in the cold would have been too much so the lady asked if she could use the bathroom instead. The door person said she had to buy something first, and the mom said "ok, I will, but this is a bit urgent." The door person said no, buy first. So after the baby threw up while she was waiting for the slow cashier to move his butt and handle the transaction (tv was more important apparently), I held the ladies purchased beer for her while the situation got handled inside with the baby. After she left she said I could keep the beer, (Nice European lady), and the beer was flat and a bit overpriced, to boot. First and last time I will ever visit this place. The snacks I had were pretty good, food was good, but customer service is a complete joke. I will not be having my holiday party here or utilize any catering (if available) as the first impression was completely ruined by their stupid policies and horrible treatment to customers. read more

Came with a party of 9. We were told that we could sit anywhere and that we could most likely fit our party on the upstairs patio. Unfortunately the tables only sat four. We chose a spot away from everyone in the back corner and moved two tables that were beside one another together. We were promptly told by a server that we were not allowed to move the tables, even if it were to accommodate a party of 9. We ended up going back downstairs and squeezing into the largest table they had. Our food was actually pretty good. We ordered 3-4 appetizers, entrees and a few people in our party ordered drinks. But our service was sub-par. We had long wait times for drinks to be refilled and our server almost seemed annoyed when we asked for our empty cups to be filled. Food is good. Nice beer. Absolutely no service though, or interest in providing it either. We had a 30-40 minute wait for a table, so I ordered a beer and wine from the bar. The bartender took my order, I then paid for the drinks, then she wandered off and took other orders. She kept filling every person's order but never gave me the drinks I ordered. I stood around waiting for her but she didn't come back. Finally after 10 minutes, I flagged down a different server and asked about the drinks. She got the bartender to come over and she got me the wine, and also gave me a glass of water. She accidental poured a 2nd wine, and she walked it over to my wife and asked her if she would like since she screwed up and had left us waiting. She gave me the water, but no beer. She went back to the bar and started waiting on people again, but still never brought my beer. I walked up a second time, and asked for it and they didn't understand why I was there as they gave me a water. I offered to show my receipt, but she blew it off and just poured me a beer and handed it to me. We finally got inside, and our waitress took our orders. I had my kids with me and I asked for waters for them. She went to go enter our order, and after about 15 minutes, we never saw her and had no waters. I went to the bar inside and got the drinks for my kid. The bartender inside was great, very prompt and pleasant. Shortly after, our appetizer arrived, but still no waitress. We had no plates, no silverware, no napkins, and no condiments. I couldn't flag anyone down, so I walked over to a hostess, and asked for everything. I had to follow her around to collect everything, plates from the back, and silverware and napkins from a station out by the register. I got back to my table and set my family up so we didn't have to eat off the table with our hands. About 5 minutes later, the waitress stopped by to see if we got everything but left before I had a chance to say anything to her. Our entrees came out, and I had the schnitzel and potato salad. The potatoes were not fully cooked, and I don't really care for crunchy potato salad, so I passed on it. Needless to say, the waitress was nowhere to be seen, so I went to the bar and got the whole family refills in water. As we finished our meals, the waitress did stop by to see if we wanted dessert. I really was not feeling like fetching it for our table, so we passed on it. I thought about talking to a manager, but there didn't seem to be anyone that looked to be in charge. Enough of the staff had seen me serving drinks, and getting plates from the kitchen, and whatnot, so I figured that someone should had noticed. But, that didn't seem to be the case. At this point, I was ready to call it a night. I like the idea of the place and it has potential, but it isn't really a place I can recommend at this time. I hope they improve, but I don't plan to check them out again anytime soon. read more

Tried this place because of the buzz and I gotta say the buzz was accurate! Great beer and great good. The service was super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place! Try the Sand Castle Kolsch beer it is a winner! What a finish! Thanks to the staff for a great product and time! This is a fun place with great food in downtown Tomball. Really great building and well designed. The food was great. My son keeps asking me to take him back for a hamburger. I had the bratwurst, which was tasty with salt & vinegar potatoes. For plant based food, they do have some great salads and sides. For meatless option(not necessarily plant based), they have some good appetizers. This is local for us, so we will definitely be back soon. We were there on a Saturday afternoon and there was a pretty good crowd. But, we sat down right away and our food came in good time. We were pleased. They had some televisions playing some games, but the volume was low so you could visit with your family & friends. However, the voices carry in this building so it wasn't exactly quiet. A comfortable level of noise, though. I gave it 5 stars because the flavors of the food. However, I also took into consideration the location (to other things around), atmosphere, cleanliness, and food quality. Great place to enjoy casual dining with kids. Went on Trivia night, that was a downer. Only a few clic tables participated. For the rest it was a loud annoyance. Some cool light jazz music would have been more suitable. Send the trivia lady to a local bar. Great appetizers. Don't pass ip the Brussel sprouts or the giant pretzel. For entries portions are large so after the appetizers splitting with your friend is advised if you don't do take home. Did I mention the on site craft brewed beers. Came on a Saturday night and were told the wait would be 30-45min, about what we expected and were fine waiting outside. Ended up just snagging one of the first come first served tables outside since it wasn't Houston's typical unbearable weather. My dad and husband had ordered beers from the bar so we were content. Service then went massively downhill. After 10 min of waiting for someone to ask my mom and I if we wanted anything to drink we had to flag a guy down. He seemed annoyed but took our drink order. After another 15 min we still hadn't had anyone come to our table, the original guy we talked to didn't return (someone dropped off our drinks) and the waitress outside that my husband continually tried to make eye contact with simply ignored us. Eventually my dad went up to the bar to order an appetizer and Christopher took care of him. From that point on we just went back to Christopher at the bar or he came to us. He said he wasn't even supposed to be a server (maybe a shift manager or something) but was extremely nice. None of the actual wait staff ever said anything to us again. Other people around us made similar commentary about the terrible outside service or looked genuinely annoyed that they had to track someone down themselves. Craft beer, all brewed on the premises. Excellent quality, extensive selection of all major types of beer in an attractive and comfortable setting. I tried 2920 IPA, Wheat Beer, and Gold. All were solid representatives of their class and were of excellent character and taste. We ordered food, chicken wings and nachos, and they were attractively presented and of high quality. All in all this place was a good find and we're looking forward to going back and trying some other beers and food items in the near future. read more

The beer and food here is amazing and for really respectable prices. My favorite is the 2920 Bockwurst with a pint. The staff are highly professional and friendly and will assist and advise you and many aspects of the establishment. It is family and pet friendly and they have outdoor and upper patio seating. We were so excited about this place when it opened. We LOVE craft beer and places you can bring the kids and sit outside on a nice day. We have gone twice. The first time we waited forever to get a table and then once we had a table waited forever to get the food. I was thankful we had a booth because I saw families with children having to sit at the bar height tables with kids on their laps, since children can not sit on chairs that high..for obvious reasons! The second time we came was for a party..without children. We got there and our parties table was completely full so we literally stood next to the table the entire hour we were there. Not one employee offered an extra chair or somewhere else to sit. Our waitress seemed annoyed any time you asked for something. I wanted to leave the moment we got there. This place is awesome! It was our first time there. We are from Tomball/Spring area but now live in SW side of Houston. We were in town and wanted to try this place. We came in an hour before it closed and we were serviced right away. There were not a lot of people there on a Sunday night, but we were excited that they were open. They were so nice and made us feel welcomed. Watched the WS game while I drank wine (on tap!!! ) and the hubby drank beer. Okay, wine on TAP at a brewery??? I knew they had wine but....on.....TAP!? Let's just say I was really excited!! Had the whites wines tonight. It gave me the best buzz ever! We LOVE Tomball and hope to move back home one day. We are so glad that this place is finally open! We've been watching the construction and anxiously awaiting the opportunity to enjoy their beer! Today was the day and it did not disappoint. We walked right in and were greeted by a nice young hostess. Seated in a booth and our server acknowledged us right away even though he was with another table. We ordered a flight of all the available beers.... technically two flights, as there were seven available and our server, Dallas, brought two of the Bock to round out the flights, as this is his favorite. He was helpful and forthcoming with recommendations and just the right amount of attentiveness. Great service all round! We had a pretzel along with the beer flights.... Nice and soft, good flavor. Loved the horseradish mustard All beers were enjoyable... At least one in our group of three liked each one and we each soon found a favorite to order with our meal. My husband had a cheeseburger with the potato salad and a Porter. He said the burger was nice, bread was good and the potato salad had a nice smokiness but could have been enhanced with a bit of bacon for a saltier flavor. My son had the Rueben, as recommended by our server, along with the hefeweizen. He enjoyed his sandwich and it certainly looked delicious... Only feedback would be to skip the green peppers, as they overpowered the other flavors somewhat. I enjoyed the bratwurst appetizer as my meal along with the dunkelweizen. A really perfect amount of flavorful food to accompany the beer. The saurkraut, pickled beets, pickled onions and pickled cucumber was just right with the sausages, as was that delicious mustard! For dessert we ordered a couple of coffees and shared the apple cheesecake empanadas which seemed to be made in house and , though a little unusual, were delicious. (Surprised to be served the coffee in styrofoam cups.) One note about the beers. As a new label, more emphasis should be put on the names of each beer so that folks think of the name not just the style of the beer.... For example, the flight was labeled in sharpie on the serving tray with the beer style not the name... maybe a sticker with the name of the beer would be better and would help your customers to begin to identify your products. Also, larger pictures of the labels on the menu. You've worked really hard to create catchy names for all the beers. Why not emphasize them a bit more? Overall, the experience was great! Atmosphere was lively and they were quite busy.... We will definitely try sitting out in the patio when the weather warms up a bit. Good to see this new enterprise getting off to a good start! Fire Ant Brew pub is exactly what Tomball needed. I love coming here with my daughter, I can enjoy a beer and a bite to eat. My daughter even loves the cheeseburgers and that's a plus!! My go to beer is the blonde, but I'm not a huge beer drinker, but the beer here is phenomenal and I've enjoyed other pours as well from their 15+ selection. We love the pretzel, any of the burgers and the Reuben is the best I've ever had!! The couple Sylvia and Bruce who own this establishment are always there, they show they care about their customers and their staff.
