Nice environment to get some work or studying in if some noise isn't a problem for you that's coming from other customers talking to the alternative music they have pumping through their speakers. I think the front of the store is too noisy but the back of the store is significantly quieter. I don't come here if I have to do serious studying but I do come here if I'm watching boring training videos. Their milk tea is on the weaker side when I compare it to my ATF Star Snow Ice by Bellaire and Ranchester; however, a happy medium is even you have them mix half their regular formula with half their powdered tea mix. I don't know coffee that well. For what it's worth, it's at least comparable to the ubiquitous Starbucks but the price seems higher? Anyhow, I come here over Starbucks because it's not as crowded and it's not as noisy. read more

Fioza was a fantastic place to study during graduate school and while preparing to sit for the CPA exam. I actually found Fioza through Yelp - I was looking for a tapioca bar close to my house and stumbled across this page. Talk about a happy coincidence. Pros: I like the laid back atmosphere and the fact that you really ARE interacting with your neighborhood when you come in here - I've met several people that I went to high school and college with, along with a ton of people who live in the area. The employees are (mostly) pleasant and the music they play is fun. The coffee is pretty good, and the paninis and cakes they order in are delicious. WiFi is free, outlets are plentiful, and the bathrooms are beautifully clean. Cons: The staff can be a slow to clean off tables after customers leave. Fioza is a very reliable coffee shop and a nice place to get work done (apologies to the conversationalists and other patrons). Although this is one of the only non-Starbucks options in the area, Fioza admirably fills the role of the neighborhood coffee shop. I come here basically anytime I am able to work remotely and usually have good experiences. Sometimes the store is inexplicably crowded, but find out what time the book clubs don't meet and you will be fine. Otherwise, the service, food, and especially the wi-fi is extremely consistent. All of the coffee drinks come recommended, so confidently order whatever you are "feeling" that day. The Cafe Cortado is great, as is the iced coffee or any of the Fioza specialties. The only exception? Pass on the milk tea... leave that to Chinatown. The food is priced at what you would expect for coffee shop food (aka too much) but is actually very good! I actively crave the paninis and end up alternating between the Roasted Chicken and the Smoked Turkey Basil Pesto. Despite the cringey feeling I get for paying for $8 paninis, I've always been pleasantly surprised by how filling they are. Fioza's reliability is what has kept bringing me back over the years. This shop is pretty cool, nothing too special. If you live near by in one of the neighborhoods, I can definitely understand how you can love this place. It is fair sized with enough space for some studying and work. They had typical coffee drinks plus a Fioza specialty drink list that was pretty cool. I'll start by saying that this coffee shop is completely out of the way, but I decided to check it out on a whim based on good yelp reviews. I am on a hunt to find a coffee shop with good food (read: not stale croissants and cookies from the day before). First thing I noticed is that the menu has a lot of specialty items that most other coffee shops don't have - like Nutella Lattes (I'm sipping one made with soy right now and it's excellent - not too sweet either). Second thing I noticed is that Pink Floyd is playing on the speakers above at a comfortable volume. This place is already winning me over... Lastly, I ordered a turkey panini and it is amazing! It's made with pesto sauce and is definitely one of the better paninis I've had. I am 100% happy with my experience thus far. My only wish is that this place was more conveniently located for me. Cute little coffee shop in Meyerland. My usual coffee shops get too crowded on the weekends, so I'm forced to branch out. I'm always looking for a nice study spot, and Fioza definitely fits the bill. Most customers are here to study/ work on their computer, so the general atmosphere is quiet and conducive for some hard core concentration. The place is clean and well lit. I came on a Sunday afternoon, and the place was not too full and not too empty. Good assortment of drinks and pastries/cakes. Pastries are $1 after 4pm. read more

Preface/background: I am now more focused on quality and am always looking for a great deal (read: value). Less meat, no more 2 Chipotle burrito eating. Awesome coffee. Got two orders of the "Nutella" which is chocolate & hazelnut latte. Chocolatey and sweet, but not too sweet. An optimal amount of sweet. Also had a smoothie, which was okay. I would recommend the coffee over their smoothies. Solid wifi too. There's plenty of seating during the daytime, and plenty of space. Nice people serving and a pretty chill environment. I'd come back here to study or do some work. Good quality spot. The only thing that I would suggest is that they fix some of their tables. If you're too lazy to make the trip into Midtown or the Monstrose area for the fancy coffeehouses, this place is a decent place to get coffee. They serve coffee, milk teas, and panini sandwiches! Though, to be honest, if you're gonna get boba, I'd go somewhere else for it. The boba here isn't bad... it's just not as good as other places! Anyways, coffee-wise, this place is pretty great. The panini I tried was pretty decent, too. I'd probably say that if you're coming here, you should be getting their coffee, I mean, it's the specialty, after all. Also, it's a coffee shop, so... yeah, there's that. They have plenty of seating inside. Fioza is a great study spot. There is a ton of seating, and most people seem to be working rather than socializing, but the noise level can get pretty high in here. I like ordering the iced cold-brew coffee with boba for my caffeine kick of the day. Both the coffee and the boba are merely okay, but being able to combine the two makes me pretty happy. The ambiance here is very casual and suburban, far from the pretentious hipster coffee shop attitude of an espresso-driven joint. The people who work here are down to earth and very nice. They serve paninis and a variety of baked goods to replenish the calories that all the thinking burns. After 4pm, the baked goods are discounted to $0.50 for small ones and $1 for large ones. read more

Love it! I needed somewhere to study during... spring break (how lame right?) but my test was in 2 days! It's such a cute coffee shop that has everything I need... food, tea, and outlets for my 5 minute battery span laptop. The only downfall is that I think I came on a bad day. They were filming some sort of a video of the place so there was a lot of commotion when I was sort of hoping for relative calmness, but eh it's not a library. Was looking for a new coffee shop to study since there can be an overflow at the others. This is a great little gem outside of 610. It's nice and quiet during non-peak hours. It only got really crowded at around 1-3 PM on a Saturday. The drinks are great as well! I only had the Cafe Vida, and it was delicious! If you're into almond croissants, pick one up. read more

Just went to lunch here today with a friend and I have to say other reviews were dead on. The Reuben panini was delicious and the balsamic dressing was awesome! I have to say overall it was a wonderful lunch. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and food. However the prices for the panini's are pretty high so expect to pay $12-13 for lunch. Ahh my local coffee shop. What would I do without your espresso and welcoming board games? I was so excited when this place came to town that summer of 2007. Just what I needed to get through the last two years of high school. Fioza has continued to give and give and has never let me down. The burnt oranges and rusty reds on the walls and furniture are jarring at first until you associate them with the smooth Nutella tapioca shaken drink. (Much more delicious than it sounds). They have a couple of PCs which always seem taken and lots of seating in the back as Fioza is quite vertically set up. They have a comforting amount of syrups to go into my drinks. They make a *mean* avocado blueberry smoothie (my loyalty card will testify to this). And their cakes are yummm and you get a huge piece. A perfect amount to share between you and your bestie. Nothing better than a coffee shop that gives you something to stuff your face with. They have paninis and sandwiches and soups too! I very nice place to work, with free Wifi, lots of places to plug into and considerably empty as long as you don't try and sit yourself down around lunchtime on weekends. The staff and owner are around quite a bit and everyone is very friendly. My cons? The drinks are a little pricey (most of my drink purchases and the Nutella concoction gets up towards $6. Also, for straight up Milk Tea Tapioca, I'd opt for somewhere else as the flavor is off to me. But maybe I'm just a loyal Tapioca House kind of girl for that. read more

I grew up in Meyerland so I think I can safely say it's not a "cool" neighborhood. It's a nice place for families with good schools, but it's not known for fun/hip/trendy coffee shops, restaurants, etc. In high school, we used to spend our time hanging out at the Starbucks because that was the place to be. I think things definitely would've been different if Fioza had been around. This is a secret-ish gem of a place with a really neat vibe. Also, they have fantastic coffee, food, and other items. The guac felt fresh, you could tell this was something the cooks had to make rather than having it already packaged and prepared. I loved the first time I came here for their Caramel Frappe with Bobas. But after the initial time, no employee has made the same drink consistently. I have never leaved here without having the staff remake my drink. Still it doesn't come out correctly. It always has a different taste each time. In paid almost $6.00 for this drink!!! I'm not coming back till they have a set recipe and all the employees learn to correctly make a frappe! If they make it correctly, I would really love to come back for my caramel frappe with bobas. read more

I really wanted to like this place, but kind of feel like it is over rated here on yelp. I am a doctoral student and was looking for a cool place to camp out and study on a saturday morning so I yelped "study spot" and this place had great reviews. I found the place to be very small and crammed with slow service. I stood at the counter for about 5 minutes before even see a person to order. It took about 30 minutes to get my food. I ordered a jasmine tea, and a turkey basil panini and they were both just ok and nothing to write home about. There was not much seating so I ended up sitting at a very small table the happened be right beside the espresso machine. This was very noisy distracting so I ended up leaving once I finished my food. Pretty sure I will not be back. read more

I had a good hour to kill before attending a dinner party in the neighborhood. I didn't want to be THAT girl - showing up super early to a party, but I did want a cute place that was local with a nice bit of ambiance. Luckily, yelp came to my rescue. Pretty easy location to find, and very nice staff. People were hanging out play board games, listening to old school doowop music, and reading/chilling. I knew I made the right choice! I ordered a chai latte which was warm, nutty, and just the right amount of sweetness. I was able to relax, read, and enjoy some quiet time. maybe my friend and I just ordered all the wrong things, but for us, Fioza was not a winner. We were intrigued that a non-Asian cafe was selling boba so we ordered that to sip on while we worked. what shocked me was that the cashier asked me whether I wanted it sweetened or not. I've never been asked such a thing when ordering boba so not wanting something extremely sweet, I said unsweetened, but that turned out to be a huge mistake. our drinks came out super watery. my milk tea tasted like straight up milk, but diluted milk. my friend's jasmine tea was inedible to her. the actual tapioca pearls were harder than we are accustomed to. All in all, stick with coffee here or maybe try the sweetened boba. I don't know. I'm still confused. It's a cute spot though. Plenty of seats and outlets for the coffeeshop studier/worker but kinda crowded when we visited on a Sunday afternoon. Great place! I'm usually there for the tapioca and assorted ice teas and perhaps a slice of one of their many 5 star cakes. I usually get some sort of fruit flavoured iced green tea. And it's just like I like it. Not overly loaded with sugar (unless you ask for it of course). I recently tried one of their thai milk tea drinks. And I have to say, that was the best thai milk tea I've tried from any tapioca shop. Everywhere else the thai tea barely tastes like tea and is full of sugar or possibly high fruc corn syrup. Here, I could actually taste the tea, and appreciate it. Thanks to fioza I like thai milk tea now. Now the cake... the cakes are the best cakes I've ever tried. No restaurant has come close to baking cakes as heavy and filling as fioza. I have tried a few of their cakes. Hummingbird, some sorta dark chocolate blitz, raspberry angel food, and my absolute favourite, their carrot cake. All of their cakes, for lack of better words, aren't just sugar and sugar and sugar like other cakes. These cakes are high quality. They're moist. They're filling. The icing isn't tooth-rootingly sugary nor disgustingly pasty and artificial. And each slice is quite generous. Perhaps you may find a tea/coffee shop as good as fioza (I believe otherwise, haha), but I haven't found (and you won't find) cakes like this elsewhere. ever. period. Finally, the atmosphere is very... chill. In other words, it's not bustling about and full of commotion like starbucks, which makes it a nice place to just hang out and chill. Came in here to study one afternoon because there was somewhere I needed to be in a couple hours. Good place for studying by yourself, there were a surprising number of people here early on a Friday afternoon, but still plenty of places to sit. Staff was friendly. I started off with the bubble tea, because what else can take the edge off studying like bubble tea? The jasmine green tea was not bad, the tapioca was pretty average. I know, I know, don't go to a coffee shop to order bubble tea! That's just what I happened to try that day. Next time it'll be the coffee. The real highlight was, I decided to pick up dinner there and got the Fioza original panini. It was mouthwatering, which is something impressive since I was studying obstetrics that day. Chicken was tender, pesto was delicious, and the bread was peppered just right. If you're feeling hungry while you happen to be there, I definitely recommend you try their paninis. This a cute coffee shop to socialize with friends. It's modern and decently spacious inside. It has more room than Southside Espresso. I came on a weekday afternoon to meet a friend for coffee and a light lunch. Parking in the small shopping center wasn't too bad at this time. I ordered a Cortado and my friend ordered one of their iced tapioca drinks. My Cortado was nice and strong. The coffee design on top was also beautiful. But, I still enjoyed the smooth texture of the Cortado made at Agora. My friend did not enjoy her tapioca drink. She said the texture of the tapioca balls was not that great. Bellaire has many other places, like Start Snow Ice, that make better tapioca drinks. However, we both thought the chicken pesto panini was delicious! It was better than eating a sandwich at Panera! If this coffee shop was closer to me, I'd come here more often. I still want to try out their other specialty coffee drinks, like the Nutella and El Delicioso. I'll be visiting again. read more
