I typically enjoy fine Thai a lot... both dine in and take out... I will say my most recent delivery order was, not that great-arrived timely enough, driver was friendly, but the noodles in both dishes were seemingly very over cooked (like mush texture) it was edible enough, it was late and I wasn't looking to start cooking after waiting for the food- the 1st "negative" I have had after a bunch of times eating there or having delivered. Won't stop me from trying again. The soup was good and the chicken was fine, just the pad see ew noodles (2 orders) were --- not good. I ordered from here last night. I got a bunch of stuff to last me a couple meals over the weekend. I placed my order through grubhub.com and a few minutes later I get a call from the restaurant. They are out of Thai iced tea. Disappointing, but hey, it happens. I asked at first if they could just cancel the drinks then, but it was explained that the whole order would be canceled. I was offered Thai iced coffee. I hate coffee, so I passed. I asked if they could just substitute with Sprite, and they said sure. I ended getting a can of sprite, two cans of coke, and a large iced black tea. Not really what I was expecting, but hey, I think the cost was over what I would have paid for the two Thai iced teas, so it didn't really bother me. The food that I tried was excellent. I got ginger pork and it was wonderful. I've never had pork in Thai food so I was worried, but I was worried for nothing. I also tried a nibble of the other stuff I bought just to see. The spring roll is good. I got a definite sense of freshness with the tofu and vegetables. The basil fried rice was yummy. I had to stop myself from eating more then a forkful. I left the tom kha soup alone, because I knew if I started it, I would finish it. So, why mark off one star if I was happy with everything? After I was done and had packed up the food to the fridge, I noticed a smokey smell. I had left the takeout bags out, as I was using them to hold garbage, but I ended up having to put them elsewhere. I guess the delivery man was smoking on the way over *Mind, this was during a heavy snow, so his windows were probably shut or near so*, and the bags just absorbed the smoke. It's kinda nasty. On the plus side the food is excellent and the decor is clean. On the minus side the place is in a small store and cramped i.e. you have about four tables and a counter and overall atmosphere stifling.. The take away is very popular as a result. If you or your date don't mind the hole in the wall atmosphere it is a great place to go to. read more

I made the mistake of ordering delivery from here. I ordered, and was told the food would be delivered by 7pm. At 7:45 there was still no sign of my food. I called the restaurant and a woman answered the phone - I said I'd placed an order a while ago, and while I was talking/before I could say any more, she said "He's on his way now" and HUNG UP THE PHONE. So unprofessional and rude. Not to mention they didn't even ask my name, so either I'm the only person who had a delivery or she just didn't care at all. The food was ok, but I will definitely not be ordering from Fine Thai again. I tried this place years ago and maybe the fact that I didn't know then how much I truly enjoy Thai - is the reason it took me so long to return. Nevertheless, I decided to try this place tonight because my usual Thai restaurant was already closed. I ordered using a delivery app. I was a bit worried since I spent about $65.00 and wasn't sure what to expect. I can't tell you how happy I am! Not only was everything fantastic but my daughter (whom never eats Thai) Loved the Basil Beef! Yay for me :) this means I won't be forced to order pizza every time we have a "family night" Basil beef - yummy Panama Curry- very good Peanut Chicken - Awesome Peanut Noodle Chicken- MY FAV! OMG Pot stickers - pretty good. Beef Salad- good! I just wish it was served with fresh shredded cabbage rather than lettuce. Still good tho. Overall, we were very very pleased with this dinner. After a long day at the zoo, we needed some place to fill up on good food. Our friends suggested Fine Thai, and I always enjoy trying a new Thai place, so here we went. My wife had some sort of a soup and transparent noodles and bamboo shoots and chicken thing, with a lot of black pepper. Whatever it was, I liked it, and my wife liked it. I got the salmon penang with noodles. It claims to have "medium" heat but holy cow, that's the strongest "medium" I've ever had. In any event the curry was hot with a nice amount of coconut, and the veggies were fresh. My only complaint was with the salmon, was which more sproingy than flaky. I also had a Vietnamese iced coffee, because I just can't turn down opportunities at sweetened condensed milk, and a chicken skewer with peanut sauce, which was both moist and flavorful. FYI, I ordered carry out from here this past weekend. Pro - the food did not disappoint and the place was packed. Pro - you can order online now. Con - I ordered online, but the hostess/waitress did not check the online orders so when I went to pick it up it was not ready. I will order from there again, but next time I'll call first. Down 2 stars from my last visit. Since their carryout business seems to be booming, they really need to hire a person just to answer the phones and deal with customers coming in for carryout orders. The same person does that and deals with tables. Our food sat in the window for a good 5 minutes before it was brought to our table. The employees also need to be a little more professional. The place is tiny, so yelling at other people in the small dining area does not sit well while trying to eat. The girl who took our order seems really rushed and didn't even offer us drinks. One thing that bothers me a lot is prices (food and delivery) that are different online and when I get my food. I know there is that "prices may vary" business, but still. Annoying. So I got a spicy chicken pad thai and the fried spring rolls. For a delivery that was about 1.3 miles, I was charged $3. I think that's a bit overpriced. Especially when the food was mediocre. I expect more of a brown color with pad thai, and theirs is red/orange, which makes me question how they made it spicy. Thai chili would be nice, but I think they used Siracha. A little hole-in-the-wall Thai place in Brookfield that has some pretty good food. First off, I get the feeling that most people don't eat in the restaurant. It's a small place that has a lobby and seating all in the same small area. Probably 20 people at most could fit in there. As a result many people carry out as witnessed during our dinner. We pulled up and found a parking spot on the side (fits around 4 cars) without problem. Walked in and were greeted and picked the table in the middle. Our server came shortly after bringing water (btw this place is BYOB!) and was fairly curt. Curt is putting it nicely, she seemed uninterested in being nice but did her job well. I'm not sure how to qualify the service. As an appetizer we shared some crab rangoons and egg rolls. Both were very fresh, hot, and crispy. Highly recommended. One thing that stood out was how much better the texture was over delivered alternatives. Definitely try one as an appetizer. Between the three of us we had shrimp yellow curry, chicken pad Thai, and spicy chicken pad Thai. The curry and rice were excellent. Good fragrant flavor, very hot and fresh, jumbo shrimp cooked well and a good distribution of protein, sauce, and veggies. Highly recommended. The regular pad Thai was a little lacking in flavor until the spicy chiles were added, the spicy one was well seasoned. I recommend to ask for it to be spicy for sure. The chicken seemed seasoned on the outside but bland on the inside. I assume it is not marinated and just plainly cooked to be used in many dishes. Aside from that the rest of the dish was great. Whether you want a little divey dinner or some great take-out this place is a must. Have to knock off a star for the service though. Could be better. read more

Fine Thai. I've only had food delivered to my house or picked it up so I can't address dining in. Delivery was fast, pick up was very slow. I will chalk the pick-up delay to it being the day after Christmas and they were busy. We tried the Chive Dumpling appetizer and it was very bland. I like chive as a seasoning but the amount of chive in the dumpling was too much for my taste. My wife ordered the Chicken Teriyaki and I ordered the Garlic w/ Chicken. The tough part was that description of the dish on the container was written in Thai. So, we guessed at which was which. I'm all for authentic but that's a little much. In all, the food was fine and I give three stars moreso for a restaurant that is not serving Italian or Mexican food in Brookfield than the food itself. read more

Crab Rangoon - delicious Pot stickers - tasty, despite not really being a pot sticker fan overall. Chicken pad woonsen - delicious! I ordered it "a little spicy" and the waitress asked if "medium" was ok. It was spicy and good but the spice definitely over powered the sauce of the dish, which was disappointing. This opened up right before I moved out of Brookfield, which is a shame since I craved Thai Food for 2 years, and had to drive to Westchester to get it. The portions are good size, and the food tastes great. My favorites are the pad thai, and the drunken noodles. If you are in the area and hungry check it out. Fantastic, really what can I say. The food is out of this world and with only eight tables it reminds me of those great trattorias I have been to. (small house restaurants) I can't remember what we ate there but I remember there were no leftovers. Shrimp, we had shrimp. The food is great. If you are in the area, you should definitely try this place. I went there with a few friends for lunch. We started off with the papaya salad, which I had never had before, and it was great. I don't like papaya, so I didn't think I would like it, but was assured I would like it, so I tried some. Great flavors and we'll balanced, the Thai chili's give each bite a real kick a few seconds after you swallow that bite; perfect to me. I ordered the green curry noodles with chicken. I've never had it with noodles, the noodles don't soak up the gravy like the rice does, but it was a really nice change. One friend had beef pad Thai, he said it was good, another friend had ginger chicken, which she shared, and it was really good, the chicken was seared a little, and it was moist. Would I go back? For a city with so many awesome places to eat, I am time and again disappointed with the Thai fare the city of Chicago has to offer. So you can imagine how pleasantly surprised I was that this small place in my hometown was actually pretty good. Most of the dishes are three - four star meals, they give you large helpings which is awesome for delivery and the young lady working the counter was very helpful. We ordered on Grubhub but then just decided to pick it up because of the wait time. She took it upon herself to call grubhub and get us our refund, very nice of her. All in all I would love for this place to stick around, in a smaller suburb where you might not have as many options for good food to go Fine Thai is key. I work in this area and decided that instead of going to my old standby Ben Jarong in Westchester, that I would give Fine Thai a try. I ordered Tom Yum soup and Chicken Pad Thai. I was just getting over stomach flu and wanted something not too too spicy. The place was empty when I was sat. It was a plain not assuming atmosphere. Service was good (how could it not be when your the only one there ?). The Tom Yum soup was really good and the portion was huge. I perfer my Tom Yum more brothy and filled with mushrooms and chicken, and not stuffed with lemongrass stalks and lime leaves. Fine Thai's did not dissapoint. I do have to say though, the onions in the soup were a little bit raw. The Pad Thai was typical Pad Thai. Portion size was good, and I had leftovers (especially after that huge bowl of soup) No lunch specials which was sort of dissapointing, but I do think Ill probably be back to try some other dishes. read more

I went to Fine Thai for the first time last night. Fan-frickin'-tastic! The curry fried rice is awesome and so is the green curry vegetables! I highly recommend this restaurant. When I was there the hostess was also the waitress, and it was weird seeing her just sit there at the cash register eating right in front of you. Because she's only 10 ft away, she doesn't really walk around and check on your needs. She kind of sits there and occasionally looks up to see if you make eye contact with them. It made things awkward when you really needed something and missed your eye contact que, because then you'd have to say "excuse me", and everyone could hear you. read more

It's the service and pace that kills this place. The food is awesome, but the service is almost nonexistent. SLOW... They do such a brisk takeout business and they only have one person to handle all of the takeout plus the tables. Consider yourself lucky if you get a table that has been set and a single check back. I've been here over the last few years and as they get more popular, the service just continues to drop. You'd think they'd get some more help. I would only return for takeout, and I'd call in my order at least an hour ahead. I heard the server explaining to someone on the phone why their order still wasn't ready by saying "We had someone who didn't show up." Too bad I heard the same excuse last time I was there. My wife and I came here to grab a bite to eat and take a break from playing Paperboy at the nearby Galloping Ghost arcade. We both love Thai food so when we saw that that this place was within walking distance, it seemed like the obvious choice. Terrible decision. This was by a wide margin the worst Thai restaurant I've ever been to. I've been to a lot of them and never thought one was anything less than "just ok," but the food here was truly awful. We got the drunken noodles with chicken and the lemongrass beef. The drunken noodles tasted very sour and all-around bad. The beef on the other hand had no discernible taste whatsoever. It was so bland and tough that I gave up half-way through and didn't finish it. I hate wasting food but it was just a chore to eat. I feel a little bad slamming this place because the service was fine and the staff seemed friendly, but the food was terrible. Given how many fantastic Thai places there are in and around Chicago, Fine Thai is really not worth your time or money. read more

The restaurant is a very small place with maybe 10 tables. The decor is vibrant and the woman was very nice. She brought us glasses of water but the drink to die for is Thai iced coffee. I don't know what's in it but it's possibly better than any coffee chain. We had the Basil Shrimp, Kung Pao Chicken and Wonton Soup. The sauce for the two dishes were very good and semi sweet but not to over powering. The dishes were just wonderful all together. Compared to other Thai places this takes the cake. Fine Thai is a cozy little neighborhood Thai restaurant serving fresh authentic Thai and Chinese dishes. Ordered take out at 7:45pm on a Friday. They quoted me 15-20 min and it was ready for me by the time I arrived a little past 8pm. My hubby and I ordered Chix Pad Thai and the Orange Chix. Both were piping hot when I got home and so very tasty. I know this sounds corny, but the orange Chix was really orange-y. You can tell it was made fresh. The chicken in the Pad Thai was perfect...decent sized pieces and not over cooked or dry! I think it could have used a bit more veggies, but that's just me. We used to come here often (for dine-in and takeout) but with the addition of a picky eating kid to our family, Fine Thai sadly fell out of our restaurant rotation over the past few years. Great little Thai place in the suburbs! This is my family's go-to spot for the best Thai food in the area. Everything is very authentic and flavorful. The entire staff is extremely friendly as well. I have been here many times, and we have had Fine Thai cater quite a few events for my family as well. A few of our favorite dishes are the garden pancake, tom yum soup (especially on those cold days), drunken noodle, green curry, ma as mon curry, basil chicken, ginger chicken, & garlic shrimp special (this is great!!). Have never had a bad meal here. They are also BYOB. We have eaten at all of the Thai restaurants we could find in the western suburbs, and many Chicago Thai places. Fine Thai is one of the best we've been to, it is really that good. Every dish was a winner, and it was very reasonable. ($58 for two, with a lot left over). If you go through their reviews, watch what the complainers are taking issue with: no plastic cutlery with the carryout? noodles instead of rice in a dish (where the menu says:made with NOODLES!!) I think the bad reviews are an example of Yelpers gone mad. Fine Thai was inexpensive, delicious, and the owners could not have been nicer. It's our new go-to favorite for Thai. read more

My daughter researched restaurants near Brookfield Zoo and found this one!! I am so glad she did. We had a wonderful late lunch here. First we had the chicken satay...gotta say, it was really good! The peanut sauce and the chicken..which was extremely tender. I had the drunken noodles with tofu and she had the pad thai. Both were very good!!
