Excellent service both times I have been here. I had the shrimp wrapped bacon on a bed of street corn which was phenomenal! The sticky bun was sweet, gooey with a soft, lovely crunch in every bite and the bottomless mimosas were only $16 with grapefruit, orange and pineapple as juice options. Wow where to start... This is our third attempt and giving Finch a try and we should of stopped after the first trip. We went in for Sunday brunch and it was a total disaster 1. Breakfast sandwich. Sausage came out half cooked and cold fries.... sent it back and the replacement meal took well over 20 mins to get.... replacement was chicken and waffles... we were told the holdup was we were behind a few orders on the waffle machine... why was this meal not priority 2. Kids chicken and waffles.... waffle was cold, but the kid decided to eat it as is and not have to wait for the slow service 3. Chicken panini... food was good again cold fries... The only good part of this meal was the adult beverages. We will not try finch again and sucks as we like to support the local small businesses! But this lack of service and care for the customer tells me to spend my money elsewhere! If I could give no stars to this review I would... I've been to Finch a number of times even during the heights of the pandemic. Found the food and service to be hit and miss I had the pleasure of dining there Sept 19 and really enjoyed whats going on there now Their menu is better and the kitchen is doing a great job at preparing some very delicious and fresh food. We had brussel sprouts that were fabulous, the burratta and strawberry salad on greens was also really good as was their shrimp with house made green pasta The cocktails were great. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys a nice venue, great food and good attentive service especially in that local area. It may get a 5 star next time Bon Apetit! read more

I was pleasantly surprised when we went here. The place was small and didn't look like a restaurant, more like a bar. I ordered the salmon dish because I wasn't sure about the food. OMG! I have spent most of my life in and around the Monterey Peninsula. And, for its size and population it has some of the best restaurants in the world. Carmel, Pacific Grove, Pebble Beach and Monterey all can boast of world class eateries. It was very disappointing to retire to the Inland Empire and discover that there were very few high quality restaurants to choose from. We recently had a family outing and settled on the relatively new restaurant in Wildomar called Finch. First impressions were good as we were quickly directed to a nice waiting area while the rest of our party arrived. The decor is mmmm kind of rustic with open books and hymnals decorating the walls. I liked it. When we were finally assembled our party of nine were seated at a table that had been arranged for our numbers. Our waitress was pleasant and helpful and only needs to practice a little more with her waiters corkscrew and she will be fine. Our six year old grand son was handled expertly by the staff. Appetizers appeared soon after wine was poured and were excellent. I had my eye on the Osso Bucco but changed my mind when I was informed that the day's special was scallops. I love scallops but rarely ordered them because the are usually overcooked. But I felt good about this place and gave them a try. I had a glass of red but asked for a glass of Chenin Blanc to go with the scallops. They were fantastic. They had a beautiful sear but were perfectly cooked in the center and practically melted in my mouth. The spinach and cream sauce with gnocchi was the perfect accompaniment. I actually asked the waitress to send my compliments to the chef. Well done Finch. I'll be back. read more

I live close by and wasn't impressed the first time I visited Finch a few years ago. However, I decided to try it again in hopes their menu improved and ordered their mango watercress salad. I was disappointed to see the amount of mango in this salad. Half of this salad should have been abundant with mango, Instead this was a green salad garnished with mango. In addition, It was hard to eat as the green long steams kept sticking out of my mouth. It's just not worth the pricy bill, $16 for a salad that lacks its main ingredient. Went here on a date with my hubby last night and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. I asked the bartender (also our server) what the best drink to order would be and he said the best ones are when the bartender surprises you. He was right it has muttled strawberries, lime, simple syrup, Jameson and banana liquor. It was so delicious. He recommended the brussel sprouts which my husband was hesitant about...he ate half! The best part of all was our entree. THE BRAISED SHORT RIB and THE BURGER you have to try these but try the short rib first. It melts in your mouth! It's rare that we get a hot new business so close to home and when I heard it was a sister restaurant to another favorite of mine, I knew I had to go. The decor is fun and cute with many things picture perfect for an Instagram shot. The neon sign that reads "sipping bubbly feeling lovely" and cow skull were my favorite pieces. I also was loving the floral wallpaper around the bar and chandeliers hanging above, so chic. They even have an old record player and vinyls to really set the vibe. Being that it was Thursday night we got to enjoy a live music set, so amazing. The food and drinks are what really caught my eye about this place. The menu is incredible! We decided to come in for a surprise dinner for my best friends 30th birthday. The Brussels sprouts are her favorite and we wanted her to have the best birthday. They even allowed us to bring our own cake to celebrate with. Our server Alexis was amazing! We had a party of 20 and her service didn't Skip a beat. Fast and friendly, never letting her great service slip or a glass Empty. We ordered the Peruvian fries and a finch burger to share. We were so full we couldn't finish it all. The burger was my favorite of the two, very juicy and flavorful. The Peruvian fries are interesting, a very different taste. The aioli sauce reminded me of a spicy mayo, delicious. 3 stars for really cute decor. Unfortunately I can't comment on food or service as we arrived today at 2:53pm and we're told they were open, but not serving food until 4pm. The hostess said they were switching from brunch to dinner, but we could order drinks. This is just plain weird because why would a restaurant not serve lunch on Saturday afternoon? And to top it off, if brunch is served until 3pm, we should have been offered brunch as we arrived before 3. We wanted to like you Finch. Bummer. read more

Our second visit and the tuna in the ahi stack was old. We got that sharp ping at the back of our throat from old fish. The Finch Dip was nearly flavorless. Possibly the most boring French Dip I've had so far. The shrimp in the shrimp tagliatelle was also old. Finch is apparently a burger joint trying to be a restaurant. Disappointing. We were at Finch two years ago, and at the time it was not good and as a result I wrote a one-star review. Many of our friends have told us how much they've enjoyed this place so we decided to give it another try, for Father's Day dinner. I was so hoping this would be the visit that changed my mind. It wasn't, and it didn't. In all fairness I am leaving a two-star review this time because it was edible, mostly, but it just wasn't good. We ordered the calamari and Brussel sprouts to start. Nothing special but again, edible. The drinks we ordered, two old fashioned and one specialty drink were way too sweet and not very good. For our entrees two people ordered the rib eye, one person ordered the salmon and risotto and I ordered the chicken panini. The rib eyes were fine, nothing great but hey, they're not a steakhouse. The salmon risotto has a ton of beet purée on the bottom of the bowl which is very sweet. The risotto was fine, but overall this fell under edible. The chicken panini was dry and the bread was hard to eat. I tried to eat the panini without the bread but the chicken was too dry. The fries were good, but just that, fries. We opted to skip dessert. We gave them another chance and I just can't see coming back. At least now we can say we gave them another try. read more

We really enjoyed this place. The squid ink pasta and brazed ribs were very good. The place was packed and the servers were hopping, but our waitress kept up on our water. We liked our cocktails, but they were a little steep. We were there on Thursday's live music night and truly enjoyed that. The waitstaff did great with our substitutions and got everything correct. Quite a great deal of pretense for aesthetic eclecticism. Think Post-Victorian meets Second Empire Mad Max. I really like the juxtaposition of Victorian Wallpaper, Crystal Chandaliers, and Rusty succulants. Seventy dollars for a lunch of Wild Boar sloppy joes, Belgian sour ale, Sliders, and two small brulees--seems a bit much. Particularly so when the beverage is on the menu for 25% less-than I was charged. I recommend that they begin carrying Raspberry Frambois. They have a huge well-stocked bar--but the bar tender doesn't seem to know how to make anything classical or creative. They should be mastering Absynthe and Bourbon cocktails. How about a julep? The libations at The Public House and the Apirition Room are shockingly superior in contrast. We'll try it again--but I wouldn't bet on it. read more
