Excellent seafood and other fare! The new chef/owner is creative and talented. The restaurant is small and tastefully decorated. There is outdoor seating as well. We have tried many of the seafood dishes and have never been disappointed the portions are reasonable and they are happy to make dietary substitutions if needed. A must if you are near or staying in Dennis. The restaurant is located on Rt 6A near the Cape Playhouse. read more

Tough to decide between 4 or 5 stars. Outstanding dinner. The service was superb, the food equally so. I had the foie gras and the whole fried bass. Perfect. read more

Fin is the best restaurant on Cape Cod! The service is wonderful, the food is fabulous. And if they have the lobster ravioli, it's a must!! Also enjoyed the cheese platter and shrimp on risotto. I like the cozy environment and the specialty cocktails. Definitely will be a regular at Fin!! It's FINtastic!!! read more

An excellent seafood restaurant - the swordfish and all of the fish dishes I have ever had here are amazing. They also offer a really good cheese board - raw shellfish - and a nice wine list. This is a place I will always go back to read more

Had the whole black bass, truly inedible, poorly served poorly presented, over cooked and dangerously bony, served on truly dry poorly seasoned rice, and a small kettle with two shrimp in a horrible porridge concoction. Drinks were small and seemingly watered down. The other guest also did not enjoy their meal , one a steak order , over done and again strangely seasoned, no menu option for younger children, friendly wait staff, how ever was not asked how my meal was, especially being largely un touched four hundred dollars gone, poor effort by a place trying to be trendy but failed misserably, Avoid read more

This was my favorite dinner place on the Cape. The second runner up is the Brewster Fish House. Ironically, I found out the chef that used to work at the Brewster Fish House now works at Fin. This makes sense as to why it is so good. The chef obviously knows what she is doing! Every dish from the appetizers to the final course were excellent. My boyfriend and I ordered the grilled squid, oyster chowder and a pear salad for the first course, and for the main dishes - red snapper and flounder with gnocchi. There wasn't one bite of food left on our plates. Then we topped off the meal with a peanut butter salted caramel gelato with a chocolate swirl. That was gone in about 5 seconds. You get my point;) Our server was great, attentive and very knowledgeable and the ambience was elegant which added to the experience. My boyfriend also couldn't stop talking about how much he liked the pine hardwood floors. Anyway, that is a different subject...;) This restaurant is also close to the Cape Cod playhouse which makes this restaurant location ideal. read more

Date night at Fin was well worth the drive from off cape. We were as impressed with the service (outdoors before the inside reopened/Covid) as we were with the food. We enjoyed the tuna tartare (loved the lotus chips) and oyster chowder as starters, the latter which was as flavorful as a previous reviewer had remarked. For entrees, we had the swordfish and tuna. The swordfish was okay--fresh, but thin cut, a little dry for the price point and preparation of the poblanos could be improved upon--tasted under roasted. The tuna dish as a whole was lovely. Overall, we we had a wonderful evening and appreciated that the menu was a little more interesting than your standard cape fine dining fare. read more

I can't say enough about Fin and what an awesome time we all had tonight! Our waitress Molly was the best! Our dinner from start to finish was just amazing! We will be back again the end of this month with our friends from NJ! See you soon!! read more

The whole sea bass was done perfectly, not at all overcooked, and absolutely delicious! Truffle dusting on the artichoke heart took it over the top. Fluke crudo and scallops and pork belly were also very good. Unfortunately too full to be tempted by dessert. The patio is a little noisy from Rt. 6 but it still was a pleasure to eat outdoors. read more

Darn it! I wanted to like this place so bad. Quite honestly, this should be a 2 star review, but I'm giving some benefit of doubt due to a few bright spots. The good: - really cool location nestled in a renovated historic house - great baked clam app - solid scallop special The not so good: - my wife's yellowfin tuna entree was COMPLETELY overwhelmed by noodles that were drenched in a super salty soy concoction. I didn't think she was serious until I tasted it for myself. - super expensive for what you get. I don't mind paying a lot for a great meal, but 4 medium-sized scallops for $34? Come on now - service was sub par. Perhaps just an off night, but we couldn't score a drink at the bar to save our lives, and our waitress seemed like she didn't want to be there I'll give this joint another try someday, but certainly won't rush back anytime soon read more

Very disappointing experience from start to finish. Our server was very rude (I haven't had service that bad in a really long time). A few of us got the salmon, which was just ok. We asked how the sea bass was cooked and the server said it was delicious & only lightly fried. She forgot to mention it was fried whole, head scales & all on a bed of rice. When she saw our reaction she asked if she could cut the head off & she quickly returned with a decapitated fish. We tried to eat it but it was just so unappetizing that we asked her to remove it from the table. The server never asked how our food tasted or if we needed another meal. When she brought the bill her only comment was "did you at least like the sauce on the fish" so she knew we didn't eat our meal. A $55 fish that is served whole is worth mentioning at the time of ordering. Horrible experience! Will not be back! read more

Third time this summer having dinner at Fin. Absolutely spectacular!! My husband, sister & I shared the octopus appetizer & lobster appetizer. Both so unique & incredibly delicious. My sister got the swordfish & licked her plate clean. My husband had the steak & was gushing with delight at how wonderful it was. Cooked to perfection. I had the whole blacken sea bass. Wow!! I loved every single bite. We finished with a lemon tarte & dark chocolate cake . All our drinks were fabulous. We will certainly be back. You want a really special dinner this is the place to go. read more

It's insanely difficult for a restaurant to be consistently great, but our two visits to FIN, separated by two years, suggests they do it. On Cape Cod, which, like many vacation spots, is a tough crowd. FIN has no ocean view, no terns sparkling against the sea to take your mind off your dinner ... and that's a good thing. You need to concentrate here; the food's that good. We were greeted warmly, given a choice of tables, & were immediately in love with the warmth of our waitress. We chose to share the stuffed tempura squash blossom appetizer and then regretted not going for two. A lovely blend of tastes and textures, it didn't last anywhere near long enough. Squash, shrimp & tempura. FIN features seafood, but usually with a non-traditional twist. So, we opted for swordfish, a go-to delicacy for us. It's seldom done as well as ours was, which was somehow suffused with butter and lime & still maintained the toothy texture of swordfish cooked just right. (The risotto was a bit gooey ... but I'm not a risotto guy, so what do I know?) Broccolini, a vegetable I choose to believe should not really exist, was also lovely. It's magic, I say, magic! We FINished (sorry ...) with a wild Maine blueberry & lemon tart that returned us to Maine's blueberry barrens in July with a floor of bright lemon. We'll be back. read more

Off we go to Dennis and I am really excited about dining once again at Fin. I only hope it will live up to my expectations once again as my guests are seafood lovers. Reservations are easy to get from the standpoint they work with you. But do call well in advance and I noticed the bar always had a couple of seats. If it were just the bride and me, we would have bellied up there for sure. I was drilled in on oysters this evening and so was cousin Glenn. I had been talking oyster chowder for so much of the day he relented to my engaging personality and comments such as "best oyster chowder ever!" So it begins with our chowders and delivered in an appropriate vessel to not just tempt me but to engage my need for lot's of delicousness. It is the most delicate of chowders with all the combinations of truffle and chive oils, cream and oyster blending into the perfect starter for this cool early May evening on Cape Cod. More oysters now become our mission and we decide on the different half shell offerings. One with a Grey Goose, cucumber and black tobiko and the other with proseco mignonette with fresh horseradish. These local Dennis Oysters were still plump with a little R from April in the month of May. I eat oysters way to fast! Martha just cooks fish perfectly. She and her kitchen professionals have mastered the finest of all arts and that is taking a fish off the heat at the perfect time and yet delivering it to their customers hot. My tuna rubbed in spices was eaten so fast I even embarrassed myself. Glenn nailed his too and we waited for the ladies to finish the flounder and my wife's portabello and black rice entres. Two years in row and there seems to be no sophmore jinx on Route 6A. Atmosphere is perfect and the staff just so very accomodating. Be back soon. read more

My husband took me to Fin to celebrate my birthday. He called ahead for the reservation and let the staff know it was a special occasion, specifically asked for their nicest table for 4. Finest qualified as right next to the door, squeezing 4 at a table meant for 2... The waitstaff could have cared less about making their guests feel special. Our dinner was okay, nothing enlightening. The prices were high despite the touristy time of year in Dennis. Asking for additional bread is taboo - we received the high eyebrow for doing so! For the price we could have gone across the street to Scargo Cafe and felt welcomed, had a wonderful meal and not regretted the money spent. What a disappointment on a special occasion... read more

Flawless service, presentation, plating and cuisine. TOP NOTCH. The only issue remains, noise level here is an issue. The ceiling baffles don't help much in the bar area. Thanks Tina for making our night amazing! read more

Yummy! It's really as good as it gets! Very small place, with a quaint bar. The service was great. I called about 20 minutes ahead to see if I could get a table. It was about 8:30... They saved a two top table in the bar section for me (otherwise I wouldnt have gotten seated til 9:30). I liked being in the bar section, Fin has a very homey/friendly atmosphere. I can easily see why they have regulars. I ordered the salmon entree and it was out of this world. Probably the best salmon I ever had. Seasoned perfectly! I will be having food dreams about it for weeks! My friend had the pan seared scallops and he was happy with those too. The meals aren't cheap... $20-28 for an entree.... but you get a lot of food. In my opinion it was totally worth it. Decor, Service, Food... everything was perfect wouldn't have changed a thing! read more

Wow. Another consistently fantastic meal at Fin Seafood. From start to finish, our meal was outstanding. I always know I'm in for a treat when every dish on the menu sounds so appealing that it takes a solid 20 minutes to make a decision. With our waitresses' help, my husband and I finally settled on the artisan cheese plate for an appetizer followed by garlic-thyme grilled shrimp with crispy polenta for him and grilled Atlantic swordfish with red wheat berries, caramelized brussel sprouts, and walnuts for me. Despite the fact that we were fairly full, I can never resist a tempting sounding dessert, so I indulged in their tiramisu and chocolate mousse cake and it was worth every calorie. It is one thing for a restaurant to be able to prepare and deliver exceptional dishes. But when you combine top notch food with impeccable, friendly service, perfect timing (I hate when my entrée is brought out before I have made a dent in my appetizer), and an intimate, tasteful setting, there is no doubt Fin will be a Cape Cod staple for years to come. I will most certainly return and highly recommend. read more

Went to Fin with some local friends and were surprisingly delighted given how much they'd lamented local restaurant options to us. The decor is lovely - refreshing and bright but still warm - and the staff are very friendly and attentive. The menu has many options that look appetizing, and is the type of place I'd return to to try other options. This particular evening two of us had the duck breast and were blown away. The duck breast itself, while the right level of done-ness, could have had crispier skin. But the salad that accompanied it was one of the best I've ever had. Another member of our party had the flounder and did not seem overly excited by it - she added both lemon juice and salt to it. It is on the pricier side of meals so I wouldn't suggest it for a very casual outing, but if you go you wont be disappointed. read more

Can't get over how amazing the food was at Fin. My boyfriend and I split oysters, tuna tartare, and oyster chowder for appetizers. I then had the halibut and he had the cod/lobster special. It was amazing & the service was amazing. Easily the best meal I've ever had on the cape. A must go!! read more

The food is way over priced for what it is. The presentation is upscale but the food lacks flavor and the portions are small. Martini menu looks nice until you find out they make them with Smirnoff vodka, for $15. Better places to eat on the cape. read more

I'm updating my review from a few years ago when I had a bad service experience at Fin. This time around they 'totally redeemed themselves' with friendly service and a delicious meal. So, so good! The puff pastry with asparagus and goat cheese was amazing. The best oysters i have ever had. I shared the duck with my husband and it was cooked perfectly. Thank you. I got a side of rilotto and it was perfect! Thank you Fin! One of my favorite. Birthday dinners. :-) read more

Fin has to be one of the top restaurants on the Cape. Everything about it impresses. We sat in the bar at a high top this time. I forget our server's name but like all of the front of the house she was professional but cool. We grabbed appetizers and desserts only. Everything was great. The chilled shrimp salad was simple but well composed. The Baked clams left you wanting more. The crab cake rocked as well. For dessert the Grand Marnier Sabayon was amazing. This place is popular so call in advance for reservations. You will not be disappointed. read more

Fin would have received 5 stars were it not for the extremely slow service. The food was incredible and worth the $30 per entree cost. However, it took over 20 minutes to get a menu and another 10 after that for our server to ask if we wanted a drink. The food, however, is excellent and I would go back regardless of the poor service. We were a party of six and everyone loved their appetizers, entrees and dessert. My husband, not a fan of salmon, really enjoyed my salmon prepared with blackberries. The wine list was decent and not over priced. read more

Quick summary - good, maybe even very good. The restaurant itself is a very pleasant space to spend time in. Quiet, clean, well-laid out - the spaces are small, but airy. Nice. The staff, and there seems to be a good number of them, are pleasant, polite and attentive. There's a lot of hands on deck - one person brought water, one person brought the appetizers, another brought dinner, yet another cleared the plates. Our waiter was excellent - we sought his advice on a wine selection and he was more than up to the task. The Jonah crab cake appetizer was interesting. A small crab cake accompanied by pieces of grapefruit, English cucumbers and a dollop of (too) sweet grapefruit mousse. It didn't work for me, but it was certainly creative - you may like it more. I had one of the evening's specials, a striped bass served over wax beans , a purple-fleshed sweet potato and a broth. Good, not great. The fish was well-prepared, but the rest of the plate was ordinary. I simply did not like the sweet potatoes - the beans and the broth were fine. The other member of the party had the marinated shrimp and shared my assessment - good, not great. We opted not to have dessert as we were headed elsewhere, but the dessert menu was very appealing. Total for two people, one glass of wine each, no dessert - $106. The striped bass was priced at $32. That kind of makes this a hard one to judge. Independent of the bill, this is probably a four-star review and with the benefit of the doubt, I'll give it four stars. But, for $106, you should be thinking "wow" when you walk out -- at least on the first visit, there was no "wow" here. We'll give it another try and see if that changes -- I can see the potential here and hope it is realized. read more

This place hits all the marks. We were greeted more than warmly. I was chilly, and the hostess knew of and gave me the warmest corner of the dinning room upstairs. The waitress was friendly and helpful without any attitude. She offered the specials and answered our questions thoroughly. The service was paced so that we were neither neglected nor hurried. My husband raved about his swordfish and my scallops were perfect. They were served on pureed cauliflower topped with swiss chard accented with pine nuts, golden raisins and pancetta. The blend was exquisite. The building is a pretty yellow house with very good parking. I love the sign. It is very modern and artistic, but from a business point of view it is a little too discrete. I would not change it. read more

We decided to give Fin a try after reading some glowing write-ups in The Boston Globe. The restaurant occupies what I'm guessing is an old, renovated house right off 6A. It's clean and cozy. Plenty of parking. We ate upstairs in a room with a few other tables. Service was good. The staff was friendly, and everything was generally well-timed. There's a very limited beer selection, though at least their taps are devoted to local beers (Cape Cod Beer). There's a decent wine selection, too, and okay cocktail options. The meal was good. The house made rolls were quite good. The oyster chowder--with apple wood smoked bacon, chives, and white truffle oil--was delicious and nicely presented. Our entrees--the scallop special and founder--were good though less memorable than the rest of the meal. They also seemed a little overpriced for what was served. Overall, a good Mid-Cape upscale dining option. read more

Whoa! Fin just blew my mind. I went there tonight with my best friend to celebrate finishing our medical residencies... It doesn't get any better than this. Summer on cape cod was perfectly represented in every bite. We both ordered the artisanal lettuces as a salad and the flounder (the house specialty) as entree. The salad was a good size and incredibly fresh, with local tomatoes (to have a salad in Dennis without Cape Abilities tomatoes would be a sin) and fragrant fresh basil. The vinaigrette was perfect - a little salty, a little citrusy. The flounder was perfectly cooked herbs de Provence crusted deliciousness. The creamy but light chive gnocchi contrasted perfectly with crispy garlic chips but still didn't overshadow the freshness of the fish. If you go, get dessert - we split the zuccato. I am left wondering, how did I make it 34 years on Planet Earth and have never combined tiramisu with chocolate mousse? read more

Fin is exceptional. My wife and I were in Brewster for a 4 night getaway and we ate there twice. I know quality when I see/taste it and this is it. The service was friendly and attentive and the food was fresh, tasty, imaginative and nicely presented. All of this in a classy but comfortable setting without a touch of pretension. I wish I had noted the names of the staff who helped us; we had two different waitresses on the two nights we were there and both were really delightful. Our regular go to spot when on Cape! The food is absolutely outstanding. My wife and I discovered Fin this summer when they first started the outdoor dining due to Covid-19. They offer outdoor, indoor and takeout and are doing a wonderful job. The service is fantastic as well as the whole atmosphere. We were in Chatham a couple of weeks ago for our annual trip to the Cape. Our innkeepers had said good things about Fin on their Facebook page, and I had read some other reviews that raved about it, so we were really looking forward to trying it out. When we arrived there seemed to be a few parties waiting; luckily I had made reservations on line (ureserv system on the restaurant website as opposed to my usual OpenTable) so we were seated right away in the upstairs dining area. The tables were placed fairly close together so we felt like we were almost a part of the conversation of the couples we sat between during the evening. I am not a big fan of this type of dining, preferring a little more space between tables. For appetizers, my wife had the stuffed artichoke and I had the oysters. The oysters were fresh and tasty and my wife said she enjoyed her appetizer. For entrees, she had a halibut special and I had the duck. Both dishes were fine, but didn't blow us away, which was disappointing. Service was good, neither great nor bad. Price was about what was expected. Overall, I think because we went in with high expectations, we left a little disappointed. We both agreed that we probably would not return on future trips to the Cape given the number of other great restaurants in the area. read more

Charming restaurant with first class service and five star cuisine! It's a warm welcoming atmosphere set in a two story home. Everything from our cocktails to dessert was on par with some of the finest restaurants in NYC. I started with a ginger martini and a baby lettuce salad with fresh mozzarella, toasted sunflower seeds, Asian pear with a prosecco vinaigrette. It was a perfect starter, refreshing and cleansed my palate for my entire of bay scallops with orange blossom infused tobiko, complimented with baby bok choy, mushrooms, and a seaweed salad. We also had the duck with Swiss chard and the best spatezle I've ever had!!! Dessert was equally spectacular with a strawberry rhubarb tart with homemade vanilla ice cream. We drove 30 minutes to get here and it was well worth the trip! Must come! read more
