    It's my first time here!! This Filson store is located in downtown, so there was a security guard there on the first floor when I walked in (smart business decision). Once I got to the second floor, I was immediately greeted by a staff member. I was looking for a specific product, but they didn't have it. However, the alternative that was presented to me was even better! I hope to be able to use my new bag for at least the next 10 years (with the amount I paid). I was there for about 30 minutes and wanted to take the entire ladies section home haha!

    I didn't realize Filson was a local Seattle brand until I bought a nice quality Filson tote from Elliott Bay Book Co. The flagship store merch leans towards high-performance rugged men clothing, so there wasn't much for me here, but I appreciated the quality of the clothes - their jackets are quite heavy but sturdy and their wool sweaters feel nice! A little on the pricy side but you're paying for quality here. They have a repair station and a section of one-of-kind in-house made goods, like small wallets and aprons. There's also a neat section for Kraken fans. Employees were all nice and offered to help with questions.

    This is Filson HQ. It used to be a bigger store, and you could see a factory in operation, but they moved down the street before Covid. Quality products and super customer service. Free street parking is readily available.

    We flew to Seattle during my kids Spring Break, of course had to stop into my favorite outfitters brand store. I have never been to a store all purchases were online for me. When we entered the store we were greeted my warm smiles and happy employees. Within a min or so the Manager Lo greeted us and gave my kids a quarter and a shinny penny for them to stamp in the back. She was kind enough to even give me one :) Hunter and Steven went above and beyond to ensure that I had a positive shopping experience. They setup a room for me and provide their feedback on how items looked on me and how they should fit. I never felt pressured to buy anything- they were available to answer all our questions. They made the kids feel welcomed and kept them entertained while I shopped. I bought lots of cool stuff and my kids now have some cool bags that will be passed down to them. I left the store Happy and confident with my purchases. In those couple of hours we were there the staff became true friends, and felt a little sad to have to say bye. We will def fly back from Cali to Seattle to visit our friends , forget friends our Filson family. Thanks again team for the time and effort in having have a great experience!

    Classic American workwear in a gorgeous building and space! I love to come here anytime I visit Seattle. Every time we visit there's a different popup in part of the shop. There's also a little sewing area where I believe they sew upcycled bags. I haven't seen that area in action but hopefully one of these days! While this brand was founded and originally made in USA- majority of the product is made out of the country now. As a clothing designer I understand this. Even iconic American brands like Levi's have been making everything out of the country for decades. With that being said the reason I love Filson so much is the traditional use of waxed canvas for rain repellency. Modern rain gear is made from plastic. And it's only made to last 7-8 years. Waxed canvas can be rewaxed! And can last several times that. Their fabrics are so nice and the cost is higher than some things. But justified for the classic fits and fabrics Filson produces. Everyone has always been so friendly and helpful on our visits. Even the security guard near the front door was so sweet! Also... nicest bathrooms I've been to in a while.

    UPDATE: Filson did eventually issue my refund, 3 weeks after the return. Just took daily follow up and pestering them from my end.

    F for customer service…read more I feel bad leaving a poor review especially given that I quite like the owner and have had good experiences with the shop in the past. And have been a loyal customer for many years and have bought a ton of stuff from them. But today I had a terrible experience and I just feel like I need to share it. I went in to rent a pair of skis for my daughter as we wanted to go skiing the next day. It was 4:45 on Sat. Walking in and saying I wanted to rent skis. The young guy behind the counter asked me if I had an appointment. I said no, I no idea I needed an appointment for a one-day rental. Then he said I'm sorry I won't be able to help you we close in 14 minutes. Well, first closing at 5pm when you're a rental shop during the ski season seems a little early but OK. I said are you sure I just need skis and that shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes (I used to work in a rental shop and setting up rental skis is really very quick). But he said no, it would not be possible. There were no other customers in the shop so it was unclear what else would be taking his time, but clearly not helping me. He very unhelpfully suggested that I could come back in the morning and that they open at 11. Which is pretty useless if you want to ski that same day. The fact that he suggested that as a solution is just more evidence that he had zero interest in listening to what I need or in any way finding a way to help me. I hope this is an anomaly and not what I can expect from the shop going forward. I really enjoy having a local ski shop in West Seattle and I hope that my future experiences will be like all my previous ones.

I've heard about Tom Bihn for years from a friend who's a huge…read morefan of them, but had never had the chance to visit their tiny Seattle showroom until recently. It's literally located inside of their production facility, where industrial sewists are working hard to create these resilient bags. As an amateur bagmaker myself, I can see the work, thought, and details that are put into each bag. And while their prices are high, the craftsmanship is worth it. They use extremely quality materials, and add extra touches that make these bags perfect for travel. For example, many of the bags have a brightly colored interior so things are easier to find. Thoughtful pockets abound, too - from water bottle pockets to tiny spots to slip your passport or other important documents. I'm excited to report that I finally dove in and bought my first Tom Bihn (a cafe bag for my upcoming vacay) - the hardest part was choosing a color, as there were so many options available. Can't wait to use my new bag, and I'll 100% be back again (or maybe online) to get a companion piece as budget allows. If you're into bags, this is a cool place to visit. Heads up: due to the shop being open to the factory floor, masks are required in this store so be sure to bring one along.
