The service has gotten much better, the people are very friendly and nice. The food quality is still 50/50 depending on who's working or cooking. They're a little bit more expensive than some of the competitors around here that are just as close. I will still stop in once in a while. read more

3 words...Carne Asada Fries. YUM Seriously, the best ones in Apache Junction. However, I will say, make sure you ask to have them make the fries crispy...sometimes they are not cooked long enough, making the fries soggy which isn't ideal (hence the 4 stars), but it still tastes good. I usually get them without Guacamole (not a fan). Also, their Bacon and Egg breakfast burritos are AMAZING. I have yet to have a bad one. Especially with their red salsa, a great easy breakfast to start your day! Prices are a bit high for my taste but honestly, they are worth it! Service is always good. I have yet to have any issues in the drive thru. Never eaten inside but it always seems to look clean when I drive by. Will have to check it out and update the review. I will note say for whatever reason, every time I get a soft drink there, it always seems to be flat (no bueno). Due to this, I usually omit ordering a Coke when I go... then again, i prefer my Coke to be "crispy". If you want a good hefty lunch or dinner, come to Filiberto's and snag you some Carne Asada Fries, you will not be disappointed! read more

Have been coming to this location for years. Their chicken tacos are so yummy, filled with lots of chicken! Sadly, 99 cent Taco Tuesday is no more as they are now $2.49 per taco. Sadly, I ordered a breakfast platter without meat and found meat in my huevos rancheros. This was my favorite place when I first dined there 5 years ago. What a difference a day makes. Quality has gone down so far since then. I often wonder what happens to a place like this. Management change? Vendor change? Attitude change? Something's changed. Maybe ordering the cheapest giant cans of refried beans so all locations can share and get a volume discount?? Crappy frijoles. Look at this plate. The cheese isn't melted. I wondered if the server thought in their mind, "ah this is fine". Doubt they said anything to themselves, unlikely they even glanced at the plate. Look at the color of the red sauce, yikes. Fortunately it didn't taste like it looked, it was pretty tasteless. I bet they got a good deal on the can it came from though. Dialed in for a "taco stand"..... Fair warning ,it looks pretty Shack like on the outside .... discourages walking in .Once you walk inside the restaurant is clean & modern . You order at the counter, but they deliver to your table.The meat choices are all tender , but NOT the best adovada, as it had burnt bits. This location of filibertos NEEDS to be SHUT DOWN or REPLACE the workers! I haven't eaten here in years and I refuse to. The stories from family members and being with them in the drive thru, they always get simple orders wrong. Like one time mother ordered a simple carne asada burrito. Yes, they don't know everyone's allergies, but they added SHRIMP to a CARNE ASADA burrito when never mentioned it. Mother is HIGHLY allergic and she could've gone to a hospital. Then there's just multiple times when the family craves food from there at around 8pm or 9pm, sometimes even midnight cause they are 24/7! They are always open, but when we pull up to the drive thru theres never anyone at the window trying to take our order. We gave up and started to drive away but we then saw SOMEONE inside immediately trying to hide. So yah never EVER again at this place and hoping it gets shut down. This typically is a good place to get fast Mexican food. However, when I ordered a Steak Ranchero meal, they left the steak out! When I tried to call to complain, the phone was off the hook, busy, busy, busy! I finally got a hold of someone and I explained the situation and told them I tossed the meal. They wanted the food back (even if it would be a few days when I could go back) and the receipt. I told them I could bring the receipt and they kept responding with "that is the rule". I asked for the manager, Arturo came on and I asked for the owners name, he said he didn't know who that was and doesn't know the franchise owner! What kind of customer service is this! Had soft shell beef tacos last night and they were terrible. The tortillas were stale and you couldn't even pick them up without having them fall apart. The lettuce was all clumped up like it was frozen. I can't believe they actually served this food without checking it. My friends tacos were pretty bad also. Won't be back anytime soon. read more

Me and my mom went to Filibertos at 8 in the morning and got 3 Carnesata burritos, and all of them were cold like they just came out of the fridge. I called and talked to the manager, and she said that it could have been the guacamole that made them cold. I have never had a CARNESATA BURRITO that was cold like that. We waited for 15 to 20 minutes in the drive-through, so we threw them out, and I will never go there again. Filibertos used to be the best place to eat. For those who just tuned in a quick review ... I am not much of a fan of large corporate fast food places. My negative feelings for them multiply when it comes to ethnic foods and especially Mexican foods. There are so many small mom & pop places where the owners work brutal hours hand-making incredible Mexican meals based on years of family tradition that the only thing I can say about going to a Mexican fast food chain is "why"? Okay, Filiberto's isn't exactly a large conglomerate chain, not with only 55 restaurants in 3 states. Most of their locations are in the Phoenix area with a high concentration in Mesa, where they have their roots. Their restaurants are neither stereotypical of fast food places nor sit-down restaurants, with a bright lively colorful décor, multiple dining rooms and more of a grown-up fast food environment. Tonight's visit was my first ever to a Filibertos and frankly I am at a total loss why the negative reviews from some people. Exactly what did they expect from a cheap fast food chain? I could use a thousand words to describe my dinner tonight but they say a picture is better so take a look at my carne asada plate. I was in shock to find so much steak for about ten bucks, plus rice that's actually eatable, refried beans that don't taste like a lump of lard, a fresh green salad garnish, guacamole made with real avocados and quite possibly the most impressive salsa bar I've seen at any similar place. The service is exactly what I would expect from a fast food place - they don't fawn all over you but they get the job done efficiently and relatively cheerfully. The restaurant is about as clean as any fast food place. The menu is where they start to shine, it is huge and varied and dirt cheap. And if you are there on one of their daily special days you can get a full dinner with sides for under five bucks. That's way cheaper than McDonald's these days. Go back again and look at my steak. There were two immense pieces that covered most of the plate. If you're not used to how they serve steak in cosmopolitan cities in Mexico I'll tell you right now this is how I've had it at the better restaurants in Mexico City and this was at least just as good. Reading the bad reviews they seem to either be that the drive-through line was slow or that someone made a mistake on their order. It's true that every time I drive this place there are cars wrapped around the block. I fail to see how that's a bad thing ... if people like a place they come back again and again. Deal with it, or walk inside so you don't have to wait in your car. And as far as someone making a mistake on your order - really? And as far as "eating spicy food gives you an upset tummy", why in the world would you go eat at a Mexican restaurant if you can't take the heat? read more

Unfortunately this is the closest Filiberto's to our house so when we are tight on time we will swing by in hopes that the service is better than the last time. I am basing this review on the 4 times I've used the drive through for breakfast or lunch and the drive through window was staffed by a male. If you use the drive through for breakfast or lunch and a male voice comes over the speaker, my suggestion is just say never mind and go elsewhere or make sure you check everything before driving away. Whenever a female is working the drive through my orders have been correct. Today was my fourth time in a row that my order had issues when a guy was working the drive through during the breakfast or lunch time of day. Today I feel the guy working the drive through was totally responsible for two mistakes on his own and partially to blame for a third. First issue was he gave back incorrect change. Second was I got green sauce even though I'd ordered red. Last was a mistake I am partially at fault for as he didn't give me my drink and I didn't realize until I got home. If the Los Favoritos at Ellsworth and Main/Apache Trail had a drive through, I'd go there instead but I rescued a dog with severe separation anxiety and he doesn't tolerate being left alone even long enough for me to go in and pick up an order. It wouldn't take as long if there weren't so many people placing and picking up orders every time I go to that Los Favoritos location. read more

I usually enjoy Filiberto's, but this way way over priced and not great. Plus we waited like 25 minutes in the drive through. I ordered a combo with a chicken burrito and a cheese enchilada. The burrito was stuffed super full of nothing but chicken. Generous I suppose, but it was over cooked and needed more flavor. The cheese enchilada was just shredded cheese that wasn't melted with bland sauce on top. The cheese was suspicious too...like maybe it was fake cheese. It had a plastic-y feel to it. Wife just had a bean tostada. And this was about 30 dollars...I feel like I'd rather go dine in somewhere than have this experience again. Beans and chips are great. I ordered two carne asada burros, super nachos, and carne asada fries. The total: $55.00. I did not look at the carne asada fries because they were for someone else. But let me tell you the super nachos were more chips than anything else. Surprisingly the chips were good. The diced tomato and onion asada burro had very little carne. For these prices we could of ate at a sit down restaurant and left a tip. I miss those days of lore when Filiberto's were rumored to be serving up horse meat. I have been to this location 6 times. Usually they get my order wrong I ask for a chicken chimichanga and get beef. That didn't even prompt me to write a bad review, but this is crazy. Well today they got my chicken chimichanga right but is came with an added "ingredient". As I took my first bite I noticed something a miss...a over cooked piece of chicken? ...a bone? I thought to myself..no.... Upon further inspection I unfurled to my horror a nice big piece of deep fried plastic wrap.
