Being from NY, this is the best Italian joint, maybe restaurant, in Wheeling WV. Abbey's probably best bartender in the area.

I thought the food was good. I'd recommend the meatballs and the homemade salad dressing. Value for lunch was also pretty good. Service the same. Because of those redeeming qualities, I didn't rate it lower. I was pretty displeased with the salad (the lettuce was pretty much bad). Also, for an Italian restaurant the bread was not great. I'll try it again at some point to see if the salad was a fluke. read more

Really liked this place. The wait was a little long because it was a Saturday night and it's a small restaurant. They do have a bar, but it was full. The staff was extremely friendly. We had the appetizer sampler. It was great except the cheese sticks were a little too breaded but that's just my personal preference. The zucchini was great. I had the lobster ravioli but with vodka sauce instead of the marinara and it was excellent. The only bad thing is that I wasn't hungry enough to eat very much of it because it is extremely filling. It's OK overall. Foods fair, restaurant itself is super cramped, parking lot is small but they have complimentary valet. The specials were all seafood when we went which was exciting. We had the: -seafood stuffed shells with alfredo: I really like the alfredo it's creamy, smooth and not too rich. There was too much sauce on the shells though, I'd light sauce or sauce on the side. They shells had nice big pieces of lobster (I think it was actually lagustino, but it's still delicious and fits thebprice) and lots of crab. -stuffed flounder: ok, flounder was a little dry, the crab stuffing was 85% bread and on the salty side however it was only $15. -manicotti: I really enjoyed the cheese filing, the ricotta is excellent. My boyfriend loved his meal, and parts of mine were delicious, and parts needed work. Part of the reason why I gave it three stars was because of the odd responses I got to some of my questions. Knowing it was a relatively small town, I prefaced my question of "Do you have a gluten free menu" with "this is probably a no, but". The young girl at the hostess stand said "no" immediately. She obviously had no idea what gluten was, and rather than asking, just said no. I had looked at the menu online and figured I could find something, so we stayed. I asked my waitress a few questions about seasons on some of their seafood options and she said "seasoning salt and some other stuff", rather than going back to the kitchen to ask. She seemed pretty sure there was no flour or breading, and I ordered the seared scallops. My boyfriend, not needing to be gluten free, ordered the lasagna. He said he was good, and ate about 2/3 of it because the plate was MASSIVE. I think the slab was about the size of my head. We started out with a tomato and mozzarella salad, which was not how it was described on the menu (it came out with olives and onions, and the menu said something else all together), but it was good. I had the seared scallops. They were below average at best- they were fresh, but hadn't been very well cleaned and the "seasoning salt" put on them didn't really season them at all. The sides were all good. My scallops also came with a giant vat of butter and an orange, which was an extremely odd garnish, but whatever. The meal was decent, and clearly a loved spot because when we left it was packed for the dinner rush. Service was fine (although the servers should probably learn a bit more about their menu), and the food was beyond reasonably priced. Drinks, an appetizer and two entrees for about 75 (with tip!) ? We accidentally found Figaretti's while visiting Oglebay for the weekend in from Cleveland.... And what a pleasant surprise it was!! Definitely worth the wait worth the wait! When you're in from of town and you find a restaurant with an hour wait and no parking you know it's got to be good! I enjoyed a glass of sweet red perfectly chilled Lambrusco while we waited. Our waitress Lacy was AWESOME! She was nice, pretty and fast. I had the hand pounded veal with alfredo sauce instead of red sauce "that's my favorite way to eat veal" and they accommodated me with no problem. My husband said the lasagna was excellent!. I've always heard about Figaretti's sauce, but didn't actually know it was a restaurant! Haha. Well, I visited Figaretti's not to long ago with out of town family, who also loved it. The service was excellent despite it being very busy and the food was top notch!! Oh, and I recommend getting the fried provolone as an appetizer... so good. Delicious. Loved the food, loved the atmosphere and the young lady that greeted us was super nice and friendly.

This is not your chain Italian restaurant, it is much better. It surprises you as the outside of the restaurant leaves you wondering if its just another mom & pop dinner in a small town with so so food. Let me say most of the dishes I have had here were more than satisfying. The bar is also a good place to relax. The portions to price are fair, and the service is excellent on most nights. read more

Over rated. The rating brought us in....tge food will keep us away. The service was great. The wait staff, wonderful. The bread is not an Italian bread but more like Wonder Bread. Excellent food and servers. Our party (which was larger) was separated into different tables which I feel we should have been notified of since we made our reservation in August, even though I do understand why we were separated. Hostess was kind of rude. She did not seat us, but pointed out our tables which was a little unprofessional and she seemed inconvenienced by us. Overall, pretty happy with our experience. read more

This is our favorite date night restaurant. The only negative would be: wait can be a little long and service isn't the fastest at times. But every staff member is pleasant and the owners make you feel like family. Figs catered our wedding of 300+ last December and did a fantastic job! Every item was personalized and specified to our wishes. The even surprised us with additional appetizers and sides, for no extra cost! I highly recommend their catering services!! Great food. Small and charming restaurant. When it is available, the berry Moscota tirimisu is fabulous. I visit from out of state. Whenever I am in the area, I must eat here at least twice. If you are concerned at all about contracting COVID, do not go to this restaurant. Our server was the only staff member to have a mask on fully up over her nose. There was a server with no mask at all and the rest of the staff had them on their chin or under their nose. The manager or possible owner also had no mask on. They have no respect for customers at all. They may as well have been wearing signs that said "We don't care about you!". Having said that, we were so hungry that we didn't leave so if we die of Covid, we deserve it. The food was good. Especially for Italian food in West Virginia. Not great, but better than expected. The staff, although totally irresponsible, were very friendly. Better than Olive Garden but not upscale Italian food. Very basic food done really well. Very reasonably priced. I would recommend this place in non pandemic times because of the history and decent food. read more

I have to say that I have mixed reviews about this place. The first time I went to Figaretti's was on a saturday night. The parking was terrible because it is such a small place however, the service and the food was above average. Also, the ambience of the restaurant gave off a romantic vibe due to it's small size and because it was nighttime there were candles lit on the tables which made it peaceful so my date and I were able to relax and have a good time. Fast forward to 3 months later, on a saturday afternoon. Bill and I decide to go to Figaretti's for lunch because I kept telling him how great the food was and how much he would just absolutely love it. Boy, was I disappointed. In the daytime, the restaurant loses that "romantic feel" and the rips in the booth seats and the ugly tablecloths stick out like a sore thumb. I ordered the same thing as last time which was the stuffed egglant parmesean. Unlike before, this time it was very greasy and soggy and the ricotta cheese inside had an off taste. Bill ordered veal parmesan and after the first few bites I could see the look of disgust in his face although he was a good sport and tried to finish as much as he could. He said that the meat was so tough on the outside that it was almost impossible to chew and then the meat towards the middle tasted uncooked borderlining raw. Now, lets talk about price! For two lunch portions and 2 beers.....the meal came to $51.00 and some change with taxes and a tip! On a positive note, the service was fine. We had a really sweet waitress who was very attentive. In my opinion, Figaretti's maybe a nice option for a first date on a weekend however, to be quite honest, we will not be going back. read more

Wife and I went for a romantic dinner,the food wad good but service was terrible.waitress did not check on us at all after food was delivered and we sat without bread and drinks and I did not get my soup and Tony the retired owner blamed us for not catching the waitress, she had us and one other table. Stayed at Oglebay for a couple of days and looked at yelp for dinner ideas. Based on reviews we decided to try Figarettis. When we arrived at the restaurant on this Thursday night there was a 50 minute wait for a table. We never wait this long for a table but decided to at the bar and we are very glad we did. The restaurant is small and casual with good service and food. I got the stuffed shells and my husband the chicken marsala. Both were good picks. Both meals came with soup and salad and the waitress kept the bread basket full. When in Wheeling we will return. read more

Good Italian food for Wheeling, West VA....place was small but very cute and had a small town homey feel to it. The sauce was good and we ordered lobster ravioli in vodka sauce which was excellent and veal parm which was a little fatty but good...was disappointed with the bread the serves before meal....they could have baked fresh loafs but bread tastes like it was store bought. I came here with family to celebrate my mothers birthday. The atmosphere is pleasant and the lighting low. It is somewhat cramped and not good for big groups like us but for small groups of 2-5 it's perfect. The staff was friendly and quick to help. The mussel appetizer I had was wonderful they were hooked in a garlic butter and were very tasty. My main dish the chicken Alfredo was good the chicken was very well cooked and seasoned and the noodles were cooked well the alfredo sauce wasn't very strong but still good. It was about average. I grew up in Wheeling and have always been a fan of Figaretti's Restaurant. Their menu selections do not offer a lot of flair, but provide great taste and quality. It has been family owned and operated as long as it's been in existence and every once in a while you can catch Tony Figaretti strolling around the restaurant asking customers how they are enjoying their meals. It's a smallish restaurant and often gets crowded on weekends, but you can call ahead and reserve a table. read more
