We came for late lunch, ordered Mki bihon, Kare Kare and Lechon Kawali. The pancit was really good although I was hoping for more vegetables. this noodles is one of the best that i have tasted so far. kare Kare was tasty as well, The service was good Kuya Frank. Saw friendly. Parking is good too. Restaurant was clean. Although I did not use the restroom to check. So far I can think of going back to try different food on the menu for

I was told that the portions were big, but to me the serving sizes were a very small for the price. The dishes were homey, but nothing really wow-d me that made me want to return. I had this spot bookmarked for the bicol express (14.95) - one of the only spicy filipino dishes that I know of aside from Jollibee's Chicken Joy - spicy. The coconut + shrimp paste sauce was lovely, but here they do a seafood version which left something to be desired. I was imagining more richness, hearty protein and more kick. I was pretty disappointed especially looking at how it's usually made with thick cuts of meat submerged in spicy coconut sauce. The bihon (12.95) noodle dish was pretty forgettable. More like a carb filler to make sure were full. I think the best I've had was from a caterer. We ordered a pinakbet (14.95) for more veggies in our life which included very very bitter melon. The sauce was pure shrimp paste with nothing balance and the vegetables didn't seem like good quality. They charged 3 for plain white rice. Clearly the finger line trick wasn't used in the rice cooker because too much water and the rice was mushy. It really took away from the meal since rice is the vessel to the other dishes. Always a winner and favorite is lechon kawali (14.95). The portion was okay for the price, but the dip, texture and fatty pieces were great. This dish carried the meal especially since we were there for the crispy pata and they were out that day. But Spoon and Pork does a great version so I don't think I need to return here to try it. The meal ended with forced 20% gratuity. Unsure how that made any sense during lunch. We were the only people there and the service was cold and disinterested much like my tita when I tell her I dont have a girl friend.

I was craving Filipino food and my hubby found this place for us to try. All the food we got was delicious. I been wanting to eat sisig and this taste pretty good, but not how I remembered. Usually it will be in a sizzling plate but this wasn't. The Lechon was juicy and crispy. I definetly recommend it. The Miki bihon is a good mixture of fine noodles and thick egg noodles. It has good flavor and don't forget to squeeze the lemon on top.The garlic rice was good just wish it has more garlic. It was good to eat with the sisig and lechon. The service was a bit slow. The guy was cleaning, serving, cooking and doing everything. I give props to him. There was a lady behind the counter too and I don't know what she was doing but she did nothing at all. Overall good food and taste like a home style food dishes.

Food (4/5 stars): This is comfort food right here. It met my expectations, but there are better options for Filipino food in the greater LA area. I wish the portions were larger, too. If you plan to satisfy your Filipino cravings here, I recommend the Crispy Pata. Experience (3/5 stars): * Price: pricey, especially for the portion sizes * Wait Time: we had a reservation for a table, but the food was another story (read below) * Service: the restaurant was severely understaffed (I'm pretty sure there was a total of 2 workers), so the service missed the mark. Our food came at a snail's pace, one dish after the other. The food was fine, but the service is keeping me from coming back. You've been warned! * Parking: they have a parking lot behind the restaurant * Ambiance: it's a nice, small restaurant with indoor seating

My wife doesn't crave Filipino food often, so the moment she said she wanted to have Filipino cuisine I jumped at the opportunity. The Glendale-Eagle Rock area has a lot of Filipino restaurants, and I ended up choosing this small restaurant in Glendale. The waiter was super nice to us and accommodating to our needs. I knew from watching Alvin Cailan's videos that I wanted to try the tortong talong (eggplant omelette) - this restaurant has rellenong talong which contains ground pork, so I decided to order that. My wife really wanted flan so we ordered flan. We also ordered for an entree guinataan langka, which is jackfruit with shrimp and and pork. We also got a side of garlic rice. The guinataan langka was good, a creamy stew that goes well with rice. The rellenong talong was absolutely amazing. The addition of banana ketchup caused this dish to remind me of the Japanese omurice, except instead of an omelette on rice it was an omelette with an entire eggplant inside. The banana ketchup gives it that sweet flavor that I get from ketchup with omurice. Absolutely my favorite dish of the night. The flan was good too, though the caramel was a bit on the sweeter side. The rellenong talong made this a five star experience for me, and I would for sure visit again.

Grilled pork belly was really savory. A definite re-order.

We tried this Filipino restaurant for the first time. My friend recommended them and he was right. Their Karekare (beef oxtail peanut stew) was on point. We opted to pair with grilled pork belly instead of the usual crispy pata because my company were not big eaters and there were only 3 of us. The pork belly maybe on the chewy side but the marinade was really savory. I also had gulaman drink and it was tasty as well. We will definitely come back here, and to think.. we're from Vegas! ..but definitely a stop over!!

Came here to try for my first visit from a highly recommended source. I am from the Bay Area where there are many Filipino resteraunt galore. So I'm looking forward to trying this place in comparison. Came in on a weekday night 1 hour before closing and no customers were inside. Not sure why but that meant we had all the attention to ourselves. The menu look plentiful in choices and ordered dinuguan, kare-kare, pusit but we were served the calamari appetizer instead; still delicious non the less. We also got the crispy chicken skins which was highly recommended. This is one item in menu that I have not seen in any other Filipino resteraunt back in the Bay Area. This was awesomely and dangerously delicious! Every bite was crunchy to perfection! The other entree were also delicious. I especially liked the dinuguan. The kare-kare was ok but the sauce was too thick and not enough meat and vegetables in the mix. I would also have preferred the uncooked baguong condiment vs the cooked version which was served to us. I was also disappointed that the amount served for each entree was minimal. Entrees were served in small bowls or hot pots that were small in size. Even the rice for 4 people was only enough for like 2 people. We didn't even had enough rice to finish our small portioned entrees. We also had flan which was ok, not too sweet; but also in small size portion about 2 inches in diameter. I would come back again just to try other entrees in menu. They did not have a liquor license so no beer service. Till next time, thank you Frank for your service and hospitality.

I came here with my family on a Sunday afternoon and the food here was amazing. The vibe of the place was very family oriented meaning everyone there is super nice and happy to have you dining there. Since it was a hot day we all got iced Calamansi drinks and to start we got the lechon kawali and the bulaklak. Both were very good and the vinegar paired very well with the bulaklak. Then we ordered the kare kare and sisig. The sisig was a little too wet but the crunch saved it and the flavor was on the dot. You can't go wrong with kare kare but I have to point out that the meat fell off the ox tail bone like butter and the bagoong made it taste even better. I recommend this place for anyone trying to find a nice Filipino spot with food that tastes authentic and homemade.

I don't know how they have a three star or a B as their grade. But this place is pretty legit. The food is made fresh as you order and it is really delicious! So much more better than The Original Barrio Fiesta and Max food chains. They know what they are doing here! Prices are decent! Authentic Filipino food made with love!

They are open, not closed. I love the food here and thanks god they are still running the business!

Fiesta Sa Barrio is one of the few Filipino restaurants in LA that is open after 7/8pm on a Sunday. That alone gives them an edge when you're craving some late night eats. When we came in, there were no other customers. It seems that the restaurant is owned by a husband and wife duo. Lechon Kawali: So tender and juicy! Lots of places tend to overcook their lechon to the point that the skin is hard and the meat is dry. But the way they cook their lechon leaves it nice and crispy but still moist. A warning though is that it is on the oily side and can get you full really quickly. Lumpia Shanghai: Good egg rolls. They contain pork and shrimp. They had a good ratio of meat to wrapper and the perfect amount of chili sweet and sour sauce. Beef Steak (Bistek): Meat was nice and tender. The sauce itself could have had a little more depth of flavor, but the tenderness of the meat made up for it. BBQ Pork Skewers: Also really tender! The meat itself has a good ratio of meat to fat and the sauce/glaze is a good balance of savory with a little bit of sweetness. Rice: Reasonably priced. One order can easily serve 2 people. Halo Halo: Probably their weakest item that I ordered that night. It didn't really taste like anything until the ube ice cream finally melted. The toppings were also a bit lacking. Overall the most standout quality of Fiesta Sa Barrio was the tenderness of their meats. A lot Filipino places tend to overcook their meats to the point that the protein becomes chewy or stringy, but Fiesta Sa Barrio knows how to cook their meats. The taste of all their dishes gives a very home-cooked flavor that doesn't taste like other Filipino restaurants I've been to. A lot of reviewers commented on the interior of the restaurant having a lot of random items/papers/boxes in different corners of the restaurant. Yes, this is true. But it's not messy in an unclean sort of way. To be honest, I'm not really expecting a stellar ambience from a mom and pop, but yeah hiding away clutter can make a huge difference in the way the restaurant is received.

Color me confused because I had never heard of her. What rock have I been living under that I'd never heard of this place? So, early one Saturday, I pulled up with my sister from another mister to get our breakfast on. First of all, tell me why they're basically down the street from me. They've been around as long as I've been alive and not once had I been. Truly a shock considering my commitment with never making food at home. I stay eating outside. There was only one other group of diners while we were there. A family of 4 who were seated in the back room. We ended up being seated in the area facing Fountain. My first comment was how I felt like I was at my Lola's house because the decor was giving Lola vibes, in the best way. I felt like I was home. My friend got the laing meal and I got the tocino. We also got a side order of the sweet & spicy longanisa. Broooooooooooooo That food was wow. I'm gonna say it again - it tasted like home. Down to the fixins on the table like vinegar and suchas. I appreciated all the little touches. We ate so much yet still had so much leftovers. Their portion size was crazy. We would've been good with just one meal and another protein a la carte. We also got a small bowl of their arroz caldo. Let me tell you something, a single tear legit went down my left cheek. That tasted like what my mom made for me when she was still with us. The memories that came flooding back took me on a rollercoaster of emotions. We did order their famous empanada that never came. We had to remind our server that he never dropped it off. I'm not sure why he didn't double check if we still wanted them which we did. We would've obviously paid for them. Despite that they're getting all the stars from me because the food was fire and their drinks were 10/10. I got the Maria Clara. They also allow two free refills so that's a double win. I'm about to pull up every weekend. Take all my monies.

My friends ordered Tapsilog and Tocilog (tapa and tocino with garlic fried rice) and I was able to try them. The tapa was alright, but the tocino was very delicious. I liked how the tocino wasn't fatty at all. I would recommend the Sinigang and Tocilog to other friends/my family. The service was great. Our server was nice and accommodated us quickly when we needed something. The wait time for the food we ordered wasn't so bad. I also liked the ambiance of the restaurant because it felt like I was inside a family friend's house, which was unique to me. The food is a little on the pricier side for Filipino food, but overall I had a great experience dining here.

This is a small Market that has a little bit of everything that you're looking for from Southeast Asia. It's like a 7-Eleven, Filipino style. It's fun to look at the various items available here. You will always end up with more than just what you were looking for. I enjoy the cracker nuts, dried mangoes, and specialty dried items. Their selection of items is always changing so I like to look at what's new and on display. I will sometimes ask the front counter what just came in. The Fresh Deli, located up a small incline to the left as you enter the market, is spectacular. The flavor of the food permeates the entrance to the market. They have an incredible selection of fresh made food. It is difficult to make a decision between the different items. I asked for some help from the gentleman behind the counter. I've dealt with Christian, Gabriel and Abraham and all three are knowledgeable and helpful. He was able to explain how some of the food was prepared and the special attention that was given to each individual item. I wanted to limit myself to two items. I decided on the special marinated Beef Caldereta and the Lechon Kawali. On another trip I decided to try the Pork Tochino and the Barbecue Chicken Skewers. I can't tell you how happy I am with the flavors of the food from the deli. Everything was done to perfection. The Chicken skewers were tender and moist with a great barbecue flavor. The Toccino had a nice marinade flavor and was not too sweet. The Lechon was tender and had enough fat to give it a great flavor and texture. I have to admit the Caldereta was my favorite. Great taste, texture, and just the right spices to give it a little kick. The rice and noodles were a perfect accompaniment. All the sauces I was given added to the flavor of all the dishes. At the cash register at the front counter I paid for my items and asked about other items coming in in the near future. I found out that they are not always sure what's going to become available but always looking for something that will make their customers happy. This is truly a family establishment. I found out that everybody there is related. They definitely give exceptional service and quality merchandise, and delicious food. I look forward to coming back and trying many other items both in their market area as well as the Deli.

This was an honest mistake on my part for not checking the first receipt. The merchant copy with my signature showed charges of $439.58 on my credit card statement. I called, and one staff member said the manager was not in, and the assistant was on vacation. When I called again, I was told neither the manager nor the assistant was available. She promised to credit my card, but as of 4/18/26, no transaction has been posted. It's difficult to find a restaurant without a phone number unless you search their website. Their customer service is very poor.

The Kare Kare from Spoon & Pork is nothing short of a warm, comforting hug in a bowl…read more When the dish arrived at my table, I was immediately drawn to its rich, golden peanut sauce -- smooth and fragrant, with a roasted nuttiness that made my mouth water before I even took a bite. Nestled in the sauce were vibrant, perfectly cooked vegetables: tender bok choy, slightly charred green beans, and slices of eggplant that had soaked up all the savory depth of the stew. At the heart of the dish lay generous chunks of beef -- fork-tender, deeply flavored, with just enough fat to melt into the sauce and give it that rich, silky mouthfeel Kare Kare is known for. Sprinkled over the top were crunchy bits, adding a satisfying contrast to every spoonful. Of course, the small side of bagoong (fermented shrimp paste) was essential -- a modest dollop transformed each bite, balancing the sweetness and creaminess of the peanut sauce with a punch of briny intensity. Paired with steaming garlic rice, every scoop felt like the perfect blend of textures and flavors, a true homage to the Filipino classic. Eating Spoon & Pork's Kare Kare felt both nostalgic and elevated -- the heart and soul of a traditional comfort food presented with an eye for freshness and balance. It's the kind of dish that makes you slow down, savor each bite, and immediately start planning your next visit.

4.5 stars. Sorry,…read moreguys - I'm still catching up on my reviews and am kicking myself for failing to write this before Spoon & Pork permanently shut its doors. This was an unforgettable eatery. During our trip to Los Angeles in May, 2023, Wendell invited Jay, Z and me to meet up with Veda and him for a late lunch at 2 PM at one of their favourite Filipino restaurants, Spoon & Pork, on Sunday, the 7th. Spoon & Pork, which originated as a food truck, was a restaurant that specialized in Filipino comfort food with a contemporary twist. They offered a fresh, inventive fusion of the flavours of the Philippines with modern sophistication. Nestled in the vibrant heart of Los Angeles' Silver Lake neighbourhood, Spoon & Pork was a cozy boutique eatery on bustling Sunset Boulevard that greeted guests with a neon pig sign at their front entrance. No private lot on this busy street, so finding nearby parking was a bit challenging and although the charming spot offered both indoor and al fresco dining, seating was also limited. The tropical-inspired dining room with warm wood accents created an effortlessly cool and relaxed atmosphere that felt both modern and rooted in tradition. Upon entry, guests were welcomed by the aroma of sizzling meats and fragrant spices which alluded to the culinary journeys to come. The food at Spoon & Pork wasn't exactly what one's nanay (mom) or lola (grandma) would cook. Celebrating fresh takes on the richness of Filipino cuisine, the menu was an invitation to indulge in unexpected, compelling twists on a thoughtfully curated selection of traditional dishes, infusing familiar flavours into new forms. Below are what we ordered: beef tapa ($25) - MASARAP (DELICIOUS)! Of all the dishes that we ordered, this was the winner of them all as the succulent meat packed a punch of flavour. adobo tofu ($14) - One of Wendell's regular orders, this notable plant-based option, was a tasty, innovative take on the Philippine classic that balanced tradition with modern creativity. laing ($9) - From their platito, small plates section, this bowl of coconut braised taro leaves was rich and creamy deliciousness, but, yes, mini in portion size. garlic rice ($4/$7) - Ordering the garlic rice over plain jasmine rice was a no brainer. Thoroughly infused with the savouriness of the many bits of garlic, this rice perfectly paired with all of the other dishes. bistek ($28) - The skirt steak was very tender and the sauce perfectly balanced the tanginess from the calamansi juice with the savoury soy sauce. lechon kawali ($23) - Another reimagined classic dish featuring crispy, golden pork belly with crunchy skin and tender, flavourful meat inside. The dish was complemented by a tangy, pickled red cabbage that enhanced the crispy texture and added a refreshing contrast. This mastery of flavour and texture tickled Z's tastebuds and won him over. Before this day, Z was never a fan of Filipino food. Everything tasted boldly rich and every bit intensely intoxicated our taste buds. Service was quick, friendly, and attentive. What a remarkably epicurean feast and delightful experience we enjoyed! We're super bummed that Spoon & Pork permanently closed shoppe. Z and I were hoping to return for another tasty meal. Truly, a worthy spot this place was to hit up for an impressively creative taste of the Philippines in Los Angeles.
