    Halo Halo

We went to Kiko for their halo halo and they're closed. We ended up finding this place Barrio Fiesta. Chicken Inaasal is really good and service was exceptional. Definitely would come here again.

The staff were friendly and welcoming, but the food needed more flavor. The meat was a bit dry, and for the price, I was expecting the dishes to taste much better overall. The Nilagang Baka we ordered also had very little soup, which was disappointing.

Very accommodating and friendly. Food was great! The best ang halo-halo and crispy pata.

The food was really amazing. Driving from Long Beach to Glendale was worth it. I ordered Bangus Sisig, Beef Steak, Kare Kare, Chicken Inasal, and Garlic Fried rice. Ana our server was very kind and attentive. She made sure our food tasted well and if we needed more sauces for our Chicken Inasal. Kind of pricey but worth every penny. The place was kept very clean and tidy. I will be coming back soon.

Really disappointing experience here. We ordered the sisig bangus, and it was served COLD, not even lukewarm. The kawali it came in wasn't even warm on the bottom, which made it seem like it hadn't been freshly prepared. And it also had "sabaw" which I had to remove before putting in the to go container. We all know sisig is supposed to be dry. Even the sinigang wasn't hot like you'd expect; it was just lukewarm, with no steam coming off it. $9 for sago/gulaman. The crispy pata cooked in old oil. The skin was dark! Not like Anaheim Barrio Fiesta's crispy pata that is golden brown & sooo good! The rest of the food was blah! On top of that, our total came out to $148 and we tried to pay with $200 cash, but (who I assume was the owner) told us they didn't have change. It's honestly surprising for a business not to be able to break a bill, especially during normal service hours. Overall, the experience didn't meet expectations. For comparison, Anaheim Barrio Fiesta has much better food and service. This will be our last time here. We only came because Max's was closed today for Easter!

The inasal was juicy and flavorful, the calamari was crispy and tender, and the pares overload was super satisfying and generous.

Great experience! The inasal was juicy and flavorful, the calamari was crispy and tender, and the pares overload was super satisfying and generous. Definitely coming back!

A place where I can really taste Filipino goodness! First time to try here, went for lunch with a friend and went back for dinner now with my family! From staff, the service all the way from their food.l, it's a super b! Ordered Chicken inasal, the reason why I came back for! Their Sisig, crispy and tasty, the beef nilaga my daughter's fav and their tilapia, crispiness at its finest! And oh they gave us a free Biko pandan, which my husband's fav too! Definitely coming back! Came here hungry and 'went home happy!

We got the overload combo and it was perfect for the 3 of us. It could probably work for 4 too. The overload combo consist of pancit, lumpia Shanghai, Kare kare, beef pares and of course, the highlight of it all, crispy pata!!! Each of these dishes was delicious. The lumpia was crispy, Kare kare was thick and ohh went so well with the pancit, beef pares was tender and full of umami and the crispy pata was just finger licking good. I also loved the service here. The staff took our orders quickly, gave us water and made sure to fill them up whenever one of us run out of water. They also occasionally checked back to see if we wanted anything else or if we were satisfied with our food.

Barrio Fiesta is by far my top 5 favorite restaurants. The food never disappoints and I always get a warm, welcoming feeling whenever I come. Everyone is so welcoming which makes the food 10 times better. It has a homey vibe and to my garlic lover I HIGHLY recommend the garlic fried rice. I also love getting the beefsteak and sinigang beef! 10/10 always

Barrio Fiesta Glendale is one of the best Filipino Restaurant in Los Angeles County! Food is great! Service is excellent! Plus the ambience is nice too! Recommended if you're missing all about Filipino food!

Kare kare oxtail, Sotanghon/glass noodles, pan fried lechon/roasted pork, fried daeng/marinated milk fish/bangus and mini lumpia Shanghai.

Absolutely amazing. We are never disappointed whenever we come back here to eat. They cook Filipino food very well. Everything is so tasty. It's a small restaurant so definitely a reservation is a must. Comparing this to the other Barrio Fiesta in the SF valley this has much better tasting food. Service here is very quick, efficient and very cheerful. If anyone ever wants to try proper Filipino food they should come here first. The only downside I could think of is that it is a bit pricey for the way the place looks. But rest assured the food is excellent and served in large family style sizes. So of the dishes are very large..

Food and service are good. It feels like home--the family owners are nice. We ordered kare-kare, chopsuey, lechon kawali, daing na bangus, and lumpiang Shanghai. All the food was tasty.

Kare-kare's sauce was very gelatinous. Like sauce of lumpiang sariwa. $40 crispy pata, never again. Max's waaaaay better
    Dan L.

$40 for crispy pata thats burnt and cooked in old oil? Kare-Kare with the sauce like fresh lumpia sauce. 3-4 pieces of meat. Seriously? Go to Max's down the street. Waaaayy better quality. I'm surprised this place is still open. Bottle water only. Not regular water. $3. Automatic gratuity 18%. Also, since when do you tax the gratuity? I think they are riding on the name. This over priced and under quality might be this restaurants demise. Its not like the old barrio fiesta. Very sad. Sayang.

The Bronte Sisters. The Jacksons... You win free ice cream on me if you recognize the pattern. Yes, that's right: these are all siblings who have seamlessly worked together in their respective fields. I raise the list to include Mia and Mark Pedersen - the brother and sister team behind the ice creamery Moo Moo Mia with locations in both Montrose and Monrovia. You won't find Mia and Mark bickering or partaking in sibling rivalry; but you WILL find them creating quality, home made ice cream for Angelinos. Mark and Mia made their way from Denmark to Los Angeles in 2009 initially working in a Danish franchise despite both having a background in ice cream-making. When Covid hit in 2020 with its path of destruction to so many businesses; Mark and Mia decided they should cut their losses and create their own company that they can rely on their decision-making and thus Moo Moo Mia was born. Moo Moo Mia strives to produce Grade-A ice cream using crème de la crème ingredients such as milk from Scott Brother Dairy cows (another sibling company where cows roam free on 900 acres and are hormone free producing sensational milk) and offer unique flavor combinations. After a recent poor gelato experience at another LA business; my boyfriend and I decided to reward ourselves with ice cream from Moo Moo Mia on Honolulu in Montrose (this was our second time at this location). Nestled in the charming central Montrose corridor; Moo Moo Mia welcomes with a pastel color wheel façade/signage and a small square footage ice cream shop. When I say 'small'; I genuinely mean small as Moo Moo Mia is tiny with a display case/order counter and a claustrophobic standing room space with a few loose tables outside. This is definitely an "order and get out" establishment. Due to this congestion, Moo Moo Mia felt a bit hectic on both of our visits which always makes one feel guilty to ask for samples in order to not hold up the line. The flavor options at Moo Moo Mia aren't super extensive (there isn't that much to choose from) BUT there do have those unique combinations Mia and Mark boast of with pride. I have sampled a few flavors at Moo Moo Mia such as Honey Lavender (Sweet cream ice cream layered with delicate ribbons of lavender and finished with a touch of raw organic honey - so good with perfect lavender notes!), March flavor of ice cream with Luck Charms marshmallows and Sweet Taro. On our second visit, my boyfriend kept it simple with a single cone ($5.50) of Madagascar Vanilla Bean (Made with imported ground Madagascar vanilla beans) and a kid's cup ($4.25) of March's monthly flavor Coconut Ube for me. Mark and Mia aren't exaggerating about Moo Moo Mia's ice cream as it truly is quite good: creamy, thick and not overly sweet; the texture is perfection. The Honey Lavender holds my heart but the Coconut Ube was also delicious although it tasted of 95% ube with a small 5% after taste of coconut water. Good thing I like Ube! My boyfriend's vanilla was, in his words, "The best vanilla!" and I agree that Moo Moo Mia truly elevates a basic flavor making it extra special. The consensus is that the ice cream is wonderful, no doubt. The customer service at Moo Moo Mia leaves a lot to be desired, however. During both visits the associates were very dry, somewhat curt - although not rude, per se - and are literally only there to get the job done and that's it. Even though this isn't too terrible; it prevents Moo Moo Mia from being a perfect experience. Moo Moo Mia is a delicious and quality option for an ice cream treat that you can truly taste but the lack of numerous flavor options, the teen-tiny shop and the customer service are flaws that keep it from being exceptional. Despite this, Moo Moo Mia is recommended for all ice cream lovers - whether you have a sibling or not!

I happened to be at the tire shop across the street getting the tires changed on my car and needed to pick up some pastries for guests that were coming over that same day. One of those guests happens to be a baker so I really needed to find some fresh delicious pastries. I checked Yelp for nearby bakeries and La Jaconde popped up with really great reviews so I drove right across the street and picked up some baked goods. I picked up this big pastry that was stuffed with cream cheese and sour cherries (TRUST ME you want this), a box of mixed cookies and bite sized goodies, and a box of stuffed dates (don't knock it until you try it). EVERYTHING was fresh. Everything was tasty. And it got the stamp of approval from the baker friend. The cream cheese and sour cherry stuffed bakery literally disappeared in 10 minutes, and that thing was not small by any means. I returned to this same place the following week to pick up some savory baked goods for some friends, and the owner was at the shop and was so kind and so proud of his products (as he should be). Needless to say this is going to be my bakery of choice. I'd drive past 5 shops to get to this one any day.

All the flavors were very good except for the Cinnamon which I thought was very light in taste. Since I was driving, I chose an ice cream shake instead of a cup or cone. Caramel Macchiato was my pick! It had a really nice caramel flavor with coffee bean bits. I was slightly disappointed that they didn't pile up the ice cream to the top of the lid. It stopped at the top of the cup. I felt I was shorted some ice cream unfortunately. Hence, 4 stars! Nevertheless, Nick was amazing. His service was fantastic. Wonderful conversation and experience. It wasn't that busy at either place, but he did have to run between the two. He let us know that he'd be right with us, so we had time to look around. The baked goods cases were about half full at 7:00 at night. The man helping us didn't really know anything about the fillings of some of the items that weren't self-explanatory. He got our selections packed up nicely, but it would have been helpful to be able to get more info about some of the cakes/pastries. SG (age 5) boldly chose a cream puff for herself.
