Then (even though I had an appointment with Dr Chang) I was switched to an Indian Dr, who had substandard equipment in the same office. She inspected my teeth (after my cleaning) and then proceeded to insert 2 hands to stretch my mouth out. (Never in my many decades of seeing dentists has this been a protocol) She said it was to inspect my gums. That was my first and last appointment with her and Waterview dentistry . I asked when Dr. Chang would be in and they were very vague about it, saying he comes in and they don't know when he will be in the office. I did my research into highly rated dentists. First of all this review is a few months old. I'm still trying to get over my trauma and every-time I attempted to write my review it was too much I just didn't get to it. Her pricing is up there with big City pricing. I paid $600 for x-rays plus a few more for a 3d reading I'll have to look at my receipt for actual cost. Plus she was going to charge about $1,900.00 for a root canal. This was a Refereal from my dentist and she knew upfront that I have anxiety and would require a bit more time and patience, but that did not translate in her mannerisms and I believe it's fair to say that she has no bedside manners. I honestly should of looked her up before i went to see her. She was not able to connect with me as a patient on the first visit but bc I knew I needed to get the work done I went ahead and trusted my dentist on the referral so I went ahead and schedule the procedure. When we arrived she was walking her little puppy (which is adorable) but then later we found out that the dog is there in the office with her all day so if you are allergic to dogs this is something you should know. Luckily I am not. She was more than a few minutes late to see me bc she had to put her dog back on her office and het prep for me, that did not bother me as I live dogs and am a very understanding person. However, she just could not and did not cultivate empathy for me. When she injected the novocaine it instantly and immediately shot excruciating pain up my jaw across the side of my face and up to my forehead. I read a review from someone else that had the same experience a few months ago. I wish I would of read her reviews and looked more into her background experience and training. I told her that it was ultra painful and she just pulled me back down to the chair and told me that the second shot was going to be less painful. She lied bc it was stronger and it made me tear up bc of all the pain. She did not use any tactic to allow me to calm down or use the tactic that my Dentist uses when he injects novocaine. After I went to the restroom to wash my face and calm down we just couldn't connect. She inserted a block into my mouth without explaining to me what she was doing and in the process she managed to break skin on my lip bc of the force she used. I even explained to her that my jaw could lock bc it's happened before, her respond was "oh don't worry if your jaw locks I'll adjust it for you." She does not understand trauma, anxiety and or panic. Her listening skills along with empathy for her patients do not come across naturally or sincerely. Since I couldn't stop crying bc if the triggering pain from the novocaine shots, she panicked and immediately walked me over to my husband (the lobby) as she did not allow him to be there with me while the procedure was taking place, even after we told her that ge was my emotional support person. We decided to go back to my dentist, which ge does know how to work with patients like me with anxiety and he does have a technique that ge uses while he is administering the novocaine shot, so I know it's not me it's her. We decided to remove the tooth and then get an implant, which is more costly than having the root canal but I rather do that route then continue with her and or another specialist in root canal. After all they don't guarantee that the root canal will work, so we requested our money back from the procedure but she did not reimburse us for the x-rays and what is sad about the whole thing is that she didn't even call the next day to check up on me and or if I was going to go back etc.

I never thought that I would be writing a glowing review for any dental practice after having a…read moredetailed procedure, but this was truly the best dental experience I ever had...and I'm the daughter of a dentist! I just moved to the area and have been busy setting up new medical appointments. In the middle of all the chaos, I suddenly lost a large filling. While this may not be earth-shattering to many people, I have very small teeth and potentially dangerous allergies to many dental products. While my former dentists had worked around these issues with some (not glowing) success, I found my "issues" were definitely not welcome in this area. I went to a dentist recommended to me, not far from my house, and he was very nice; however, I was treated like a hot potato when he learned of my potential allergies. He couldn't get rid of me fast enough, and told me to find a holistic dentist, who could "better deal with my problems". Before I disclosed this "bombshell", I was told that, in addition to the first visit to assess the issue (about $200 out of pocket), it would additionally cost considerably more than $2,000 to do a crown. Additionally, it would cost much, much, MUCH more if I needed a root canal, which he said was likely, as he said he saw decay. The decay shocked me, as I have never had any in my life, and there was no sensitivity in the affected tooth. This $2,500++ would be cash only, due prior to the procedure. Fortunately, after some research, I was able to make an appointment with Arnica, and was understandably anxious about the procedure and its cost. The dentist, Dr. Anna Vasilev, was able to get me in quickly. I brought the X-rays and photos from the other dentist, and Dr. Vasilev said there was NO decay, that she saw no reason for a root canal, and that she could do a more modern procedure the following morning. My cost, after insurance, was likely to be about $140. I discussed my allergies, and she felt sure there wouldn't be a problem. They showed me their full cost estimate, including a longer-lasting ceramic crown, and the total was about half of what the other dentist quoted, and included the more expensive ceramic crown. Her more reasonable and modern approach was to cover the remaining tooth with an overlay (rather than drilling out the remaining tooth to a point), then fashion a ceramic crown for it right there and then. The entire procedure was comfortable and painless...and only took just over an hour...including making and applying the ceramic crown! They were all extremely helpful and knowledgeable. My husband couldn't believe I came out so fast! And I haven't even mentioned the Arnica office...it was beyond beautiful, spotless, quiet, and quite luxurious! The restroom by itself was a work of art...floor-to-ceiling marble walls and fixtures, an 8' polished mahogany door with gold trim, a "smart mirror"(!), and monogrammed disposable hand towels...spectacular! The same was true of the beautifully appointed and comfortable waiting area, where drinks were provided. Dr. Vasilev was kind, considerate, and carefully listened to my concerns. That, in itself, was amazing...that I could freely talk during the procedure, and not sound unintelligible from the numbing agent. I had a 9am appointment for the procedure, and was out before 10:30... and I was able to safely and comfortably eat lunch...right after having a crown! So, for me to say a dental procedure was a good experience, was unusual, to say the least. I will return to Arnica for all my routine dental visits and care, as will my husband. I highly recommend this practice to anyone who wants to banish the spectre of old-fashioned dental horrors once and for all... this place will change your mind! It did mine, and my father was a dentist.
