I was referred to an Asian lady dentist. I have a bridge that was getting ready to fall apart. I was assured by the Endodontist that referred me that she was an excellent dentist. Instead I found her to lack empathy and relied on an Assistant to handle most all of the procédures and the actual dentist spent a total of 15 minutes and then told me she wouldnt be interested in having me as a patient. After I left I read some of the reviews online and found that wasn't unusual for her to exhibit this type of behavior. Avoid this dentist like the plague. read more

I will start by saying that I am a massive wimp when it comes to the dentist. I've had to have a lot of work done - including two extractions, multiple fillings, and Invisalign. I come to Avant Dentistry because Drs Liang and Jackson have always treated me with compassion and respect since I started coming here 6 years ago. The dental assistants all do their best to keep me calm and the front desk, led by Ms Nancy keep me on track with cleanings. Well dr Jackson has left. While the new Dentist is very professional and very good. However, they charge me and my wife for dental cleanings since I had a deep cleaning once they claim I need an extra cleaning every time at an extra $55 above insurance. In addition, they charge a $200 fitting fee for partials and dentures. In addition, it is hard to get a exact cost from the front office staff. Time for me to find a new dentist.... read more

WOW! Talk about quality patient care and treatment! Came in and the whole time, I just felt taken care of. In my past dental experiences, I felt like I was treated just as a patient and was hurried out after my appointment each time, but here was different. I was treated like a person, not just another patient, and it really showed. Dr. Liang came into the dental room knowing my name, my interests, and everything. I was soo shook (in a positive way), because I only told those things to the receptionist. At first entering my treatment room, I was woah-ed by how there was a TV in the room. But then, I looked up and realized the ceiling also had a TV. *mind blown* So ingenius. I ended up watching part of an episode of Fixer Upper while getting my teeth cleaned. At the end, Dr. Liang checked on my gums and even educated me on proper flossing methods and how I needed to floss since I had pinkish gums. I really appreciated that because no one before had let me know this, but now I've gotten into the habit of at least flossing once a day, and it's all thanks to Dr. Liang! After the appointment, I had an concern about my gums, so I emailed the office, and sure thing, they responded right away!! Doesn't get much better than this read more

I used to go here around 4 years ago. I was told I needed 13 fillings and they even set up a plan to hit my insurance when it resets to be able to charge my benefits. Very honest. I went in with extreme pain (abscesses) and after xrays they told me my previous two dentists (one did my root canals, a different dentist did my crowns) had both ignored serious signs that the xrays were showing. They referred me to an endodontist instead of trying to attempt to fix it, and charging me for patch work that wouldn't have done anything to better my dental health (like my last two dentists.) All of the staff members and Dr. Liang are professional but personable. I had a wisdom tooth extraction and was told to take OTC Advil post-op. Nothing prescribed for severe pain and infection fighting. I called Avant back in tears as the numbing began to wear off and pain escalated, they prescribed Ibuprofen... this is HORRIBLE! The pharmacist was sympathetic and almost questionable as to why I was given this for the procedure I just had done as it isn't quite normal. Known fact: Black women's pain is undermined in medical and dental; somehow everyone except for the patient knows our pain level. I will have a malpractice attorney look into this further. read more

Quick update, based on my last experience you could imagine I found a new dentist. I called in and asked them to transfer my records and was told to fill out and sign a form and email it in. I did exactly that on Wednesday June 3, 2020 and even received a confirmation that they received it. Fast forward to July 2, 2020 and my records still have not been sent. I called again and spoke with Gabbie who was very kind and explained that someone most likely forgot. I asked her to cc me this time so I know if/when it gets sent. It had been 3 years since my last dentist visit as I haven't had any problems with my teeth, but one thing your dentist does that you can't is to give to the teeth a good cleaning. Even brushing twice a day, my addiction to coffee and food results in staining. The facility is top notch with all state of the art tech. From electronic sign-ins and form fill outs to the equipment Dr. Liang uses, you can tell no expense was spared. Even the waiting room was decked out and comfortable with a Keurig for your use and TV to keep you entertained. Everything is super clean and the office is very well kept. Usually when you recline on a dentist chair you're left staring up into a bright light, but not here, I was staring at the food channel on a TV, yes, a TV. Though, when I first went in so all the TVs had Nick Jr. on since there were kids in the other room, but anything for the kids right? Dr. Liang also uses the same TV to show you your x-rays and to talk about your teeth. Now on to the doctor. Dr. Liang's experience clearly shows during the whole visit and she'll go over every little detail about your teeth with you. She'll explain what she's doing and why she's doing it and answer any questions or concerns you may have. The entire staff is super nice and a makes you feel comfortable throughout your whole visit. The whole x-ray, check up, teeth cleaning, and process was quick and painless. I definitely have a new go-to dentist and I would recommend Avant to everybody. I don't have kids (and don't forsee any in the near future), but they're great with kids too and if I had any I'd bring them here. I had to establish care with a new primary dentist since I relocated to Dallas middle of 2017. I am so glad I found Avant Dentistry. The practice is pretty and clean. There was a very efficient flow to their office. My dental hygienist Liz was very kind and friendly. Dr. Liang was very patience and knowledgable. She made sure all my questions were answered. I never felt rushed. I have had varying experiences with dentists in the past and thus am generally apprehensive when searching for a new one. From my first appointment for a cleaning forward, which has included three subsequent appointments for both cleaning and procedures, I have come to the conclusion that I will likely continue to visit Avant Dentistry as long as they are around. My experiences, from interactions with the office staff, who are always so friendly, to the care provided by the hygienists and dental assistant, have been nothing short of fantastic. Getting in for appointments is always a breeze as well. Dr. Liang has incredible bedside manner, always explains issues, solutions, and complications clearly and concisely, consistently provides comprehensive education post care, and, of course, always does great work (which is table stakes). Additionally, she equips herself and staff with the the latest tools and technologies to provide comfortable and quality care (at least what seem to me as a laymen to be the latest). This seems like it should be par for the course, but in my experience is not consistent across all care providers. This is just another factor among many that demonstrate her dedication to the quality of care she provides and the comfort of her patients. Avant makes what is generally an undesirable experience something that I no longer dread. To emphasize how much this place stands out, I do not live in Dallas (although I often work in Dallas), and I plan to travel to Dallas for my dental visits at Avant even after I am no longer visiting for work. read more

This place is brand new. Suuuuper nice on the outside. When you're driving down Legacy Drive be sure to take the entrance right at Jack in the Box or you'll have to U-turn. When I walked in I was greeted warmly by Nicole, who turned out to be the assistant. She was very friendly and attentive. The waiting area is THE BOMB! I could totally live there. A big flat screen TV and a Keurig machine.. need I say more? Being my first time there, Nicole took my x-rays first. It was done fairly quickly and I liked that. I was soon greeted by another staff named Crystal. She was also very nice. The hallway looked AMAZING. Very spa-like but well lit. I felt like I was getting a massage or something. Check out the photos on their website. It's so cool! One thing I really liked about the place is that you get your own private room. I've been to other dentists where I could totally see the next chair out of peripheral vision... Privacy is very very important to me. The room I got had huge windows looking out to Legacy Drive. The view and the abundance of sunlight was very calming. There were two TVs in the room... I was flipping through channels as if I was on my own couch lol. Soon Dr. Liang came in to greet me. She was sooooo nice yet very professional. After doing my exam, she decided that I needed deep cleaning and asked if I wanted to do it on the same day. I liked that very much.. saves me an extra trip! I told her I would like to be done in an hour and she totally rocked it!! Fastest cleaning I've had. She's got some awesome skills with the needles too. Never felt any pain in the entire time. Normally I only go see the dentist when I have to. I'm sure most people are like that too. Gee willickers Batman, this place is great. Dr. Liang looks a little intimidating, standing at 5'3ish, a stern posture and a firm demeanor. But what her her mean looks mask is her truly inviting and lovable personality. Once she starts talking, it's like Carebears are shooting the contents of their wonderful little tummies into your ears. All worries about the horror she was about to put me through were put to rest. She asked me if I wanted some sort of shot to numb the pain. I said I want nitrous. "Gimme dat nitrous, Doc. I got a fix to fill." I was half joking, of course. I had my fix that day already. I mean, I was half joking, of course, because no one carries nitrous oxide for dental carries. HA? GET IT? DO ANY DENTAL PEOPLE GET THAT?!? Anyways. THEY HAVE NITROUS OXIDE!!!! So it was my first time using it. Dr. Wam Bam Liang told me it might make me feel nauseated and to let her know if I felt sick, then she left the room. Her dental assistant came in. Nice gal. I talked a little bit, then made the motion and sound I was about to throw up on her. She slid back 10 feet and gasped in horror. I began chuckling cause I scared the toothpaste out of her. But, she could take a joke, so I deemed her A-O-K in my book. One cleaning and a filling later, I was off to apartment hunt. Dr. Liang is going to be my dentist from here on out. She's too nice not to be. Just don't let her looks scare you. And that's not a banana in her pocket, its a Glock 19. Woooaaah nah. read more

I've had my fair share of terrible dentist experiences ... But this was far from it!!! Dr. Liang's office is brand spanking new and just beautiful!! You walk in you've got a keurig, free water bottles, gorgeous furniture and a tv ... And this is just the waiting room alone! Plus, the staff greeted me so kindly and kept me informed on exactly when I would be seen. So then you walk through the door and they take a panoramic X-ray of your mouth - super cool machine! And then to the chair you go ... Which fully reclines and there's a TV on the ceiling ... Say what?? I couldn't get over that. Her assistant Nicole then takes more X-rays with this futuristic looking portable X-ray machine. Again super cool! Shortly after, Dr. Liang comes in and explains all the X-rays to you ... And you get to watch from the TV on the ceiling ... Still amused by it! But seriously, she explained everything ... Current, future, etc for what to expect and watch out for. This was definitely the first time I've ever gotten a cleaning and was not cringing the whole time. Time flew by so fast and before I knew it, it was over! I am impressed with Dr. Liang's skillfullness, patience, and ability to put me at ease (as I am someone who usually hates the dentist and dreads going). Bottom line ... Super new and high tech place with awesome decor ... My new favorite dentist ... Very reasonable pricing ... Will most definitely be going back - I've already scheduled my 6 month visit! :) read more

Honestly, the best dental check up I've been to for a while. The entire staff is very very accommodating and friendly. Dr. Liang makes it a point to inform her patients on dental hygiene and explaining what she's doing and explaining the reason behind certain techniques or oral issues - this goes a long way with me, personally, as most dentists take very short time with their patients and don't care to explain what they're doing. I only came in for a dental cleaning, but the dental hygienists were equally as accommodating and paid special attention when cleaning. Both encouraged any questions or concerns, which again, was refreshing to hear. An added bonus was the new equipment the office had and the clean environment of the office itself. The waiting room has a Keurig - not sure if they're encouraging more coffee for more clientele - only kidding, haha. When seated, you are immediately greeted with a TV screen. Much to my surprise, the hygienist reclined me and there was a TV screen on the ceiling! Obviously this goes to show that this office cares immensely for their patients, down to the luxurious TVs and good technology. However, to be completely fair I haven't had a filling or cavity work done by Dr. Liang so I can't speak for legitimacy in that area. Judging by purely teeth cleaning and customer care, this dentist office has been above and beyond, though. read more
