An elderly woman, and friend drove here from North Carolina, and was warned about leaving for California via Texas with her brakes being that bad. When she got here, she had almost no brakes, rotors were history, and of course pad were bad completely worn. We ordered the parts for our mechanic but he could not get to it. I contacted Fidel, who I was told to do the work. I dropped the car off and explained the situation. He and his guys looked at the tires and stated that they would not make it to California and I agreed. She was on limited income but he worked out a deal where he got her used but searched the yard for tires on newly wrecked vehicles so he knew she would be safe. He put the brakes, rotors, etc put on and the tires for less that she would hav paid for the brakes alone at my other mechanic. The mechanic, knowing what the situation was, did a full safety check on the car, added a full gallon of oil (she was nearly empty of oil), checked her power steering fluid found it low and refilled it and fixed the leak in that line, also went through the entire cars engine and transmission to make sure it was safe and dependable for such a long drive by an elderly woman. ,The mechanic was incredibly able, left nothing to chance and easy to communicate with and was as caring about his lady as he would a good friend. And the cost was less than changing the brakes would have been with my other mechanic. Thanks, she said her car loved her and had never been in such good shape. Thanks to you all there. On the occasion that they have the vehicle we need in the salvage yard, they are very helpful with a map of the vehicle's location. They will also remove the part for you. If they do not have the vehicle needed, they will refer you to another company that might have one. We will always start with Fidel's. read more

I needed a bunch of VW parts and located them on a salvage yard parts listing site, and Fidel's showed several of those items. I went out on a Saturday and located some, but not all, of the parts, paid $200 and was told to come back in an hour, when the parts were removed. I came back well over an hour later and they had not...I agreed to come back tomorrow and those parts would be pulled and ready for me. Came back again the following day; the counter man said they were not pulled and it would be another hour or so. I needed those parts NOW, I was on my way to Houston with them. They would refund my money, but take a 20% restocking fee ($43, incl tax). Pretty ticked off..I gave them 20 minutes, then they didn't know which car I picked out (and showed the parts puller, etc)..finally showed that they DID have the parts off. No communication with the yard. No customer service. They were about to refund an angrey customer less 20% and didn't bother checking to see if the parts were pulled. Grrrr...... read more

This place was a nightmare. First, they gave me a wrong part. Then I had to go back to reorder because they said I couldn't do it over the phone. After three trips from Austin, I got most of the parts, but they didn't include everything I asked for. Every time I was there it was a 30-40 minute wait. Customer service in nonexistent here. I will seek parts from a different source next time I need something. read more

They are crooks. First I had to walk all over their yard full of mud and all the wrecks cars to help the guy find my part. I am disabled and have to walk with a cane it was very hard. They finally got the part and I paid for it and when it was installed in my vehicle it did not work. I called them and they said to bring it back they had more of them. They would take care of me and give me my money back if they did not have the part. I took it back and they did not have one that would fit my little truck. They absolutely refuse to give me my $50 back they could give me credit but that was no good for me. I'm on a limited income because of my disability and I needed that money to buy the part I need for the brakes on my little truck. Do not go here go to Wrench a Part 10 miles down the road at least you can find out if your part works or not if it doesn't you get your money back they have a nice even walkway and everything is organized and they even tell you where the vehicle is so you can see if it has the part you need. read more

Dont know where to start, shitty ass service. Called in to look for a part, they said $25. Then they told me $50, they will speak to a manager and ask, then told me they'd call me back. Never got a call back. I had to call them, after doing so, they told me $75 for the same part. The workers have no respect, and are very obnoxious as well as rude. They also don't seem very knowledgable, and for the most part don't know what they are doing. I asked what the color and condition of the part is, he told me he could not go and look at it and to come look myself. After, I called back for the third time, the worker who picked up seemed annoyed with me and said the part is no longer available right after I called 2 minutes earlier. I drove up there, and went to look for the part myself. Walked up to the front desk, and immediately had attitude from the worker. Its like a group of women on their monthly cycle working here. Never coming here again. Douchey people and service. read more

My car died and the wonderful lady at Carmax told me about this business. She said that her son had used it in the past and they picked up the car withouth charging for towing and bought the car off him as well. I called the number and played phone tag a bit. I asked for a specific amount for my car and they low balled me but said they would ask a manager and call me back. They never called back. This happened a few times and every person I talked to didnt know what was going on so I got several quotes and finally an appointment to get my car picked up. The driver didnt even know what the quote was when he picked it up. He was about 30 minutes late as well. I would say if you dont get a good quote call back the next day and try it again. I dont think they write anything down. They didnt even ask my name. Its good to have that car out of my hair but I would definately bargain with them for the best deal. read more
