I saw that almost every review was 5 stars. There was one person who gave them a 1 star and I know after being in business for over 30 years there is always that one person. So I called ahead to see if there was anything special that I needed to bring with me. The lady on the phone was very helpful. She said that when I got to the location they would set me up. When I arrived it was busy. The young lady working there was working with one customer filling his tanks and another was just ahead of me. When it was my turn she walked me through what I would need (new adaptors so I could use my RV's current hook ups and regulator). She was very helpful and pleasant. She kept everyone in order and was on top of it. I told her that I pick this place because of the reviews and she said that she was proud of doing a good job. She also mentioned the negative review that was posted and said the guy never came to her location. He mentioned the receptionist as being rude and there is no receptionist on sight. Just her and the 2 awesome dogs in the office. Anyway I had an amazing first experience at Affordable Propane from the first call to getting my 2 tanks filled. Their systems have shown our tank at zero percent for months and nobody calls or comes out to fill our tank. There is no local number to call. It directs your call to Indonesia where the people can barely speak English. Because nobody fills your tank as requested it forces you into emergency status in which they charge an additional $200. It's a complete SCAM! Once again they have blown past their delivery promise by weeks and we sit here freezing to death because AmeriGas doesn't care at all about it's customers.

They took a look…read moreat the tank and the under-carriage mounting and said it was an illegal setup per Colorado law and they couldn't legally refill it for me. (The van's customization was done in Texas.) The owner himself came out to talk with me and talked me through his idea for a solution. He quoted me what I thought was a very reasonable price and they completed the work in a few hours. He gave me a thorough rundown on how the new system worked and things to look out for. No heat and no hot water--with three kids--in Colorado? Totally fine, I guess. So here we are, living like it's the 1800s. Boiling water on the stove just to do dishes, no hot showers, and freezing nights. But don't worry--according to AmeriGas, this is not urgent. We spent the entire weekend calling, only to be bounced around like a ping-pong ball between departments. Every single person needed us to repeat our name, phone number, email, and life story before doing absolutely nothing to help. We even paid out of pocket for a plumber and HVAC tech to confirm the issue--because of course, only AmeriGas can fix their own equipment. Convenient. Customer service ranged from unhelpful to outright rude. Even after escalating to the "customer retention team" (which is ironic, because this experience guarantees they won't be retaining us), nothing was resolved. At this point, we're just waiting to see what gets fixed first--the regulator or our patience. Avoid if you enjoy basic luxuries like hot water, heat, and competent customer service.
