Visionworks - Example of how the exam TV was off-center, and my field of view as a result.

Don't go here if you care about your vision(read why)!!!…read more I set up an exam an arrived on time. They took me back fairly quickly. After working with an assistant I was taken to the exam room. For some unknown reason their TV screen, which the letters you read back to the doctor are on, is not centered, its like 10 inches left of center!!! When I looked through the lenses I told the doctor that, because of the TV being off-center I was only able to see 3 of the 5 letters on the TV, and my right eye had to compensate. This meant that my right eye was looking all the way left just to see the screen, which could impact the exam and the glasses/contacts you get. It took 3 or 4 minutes of explaining to the doctor what should've been simple. I told the doctor that he had to angle the lenses to face the TV since it was quite a bit off-center. I suspect a language barrier because it took him so long to understand. I left. I've never had an eye exam where I had to look all the way left just to see the letters. Every other exam I've had in my 51 years, the letters you read are directly in front of you and you didn't have to look all the way left and strain your eyes to see the screen. I also don't understand why they let the contractor leave without the TV being centered. I had to strain to look that far left. I wouldn't have left a negative review except that I wasted $10 on public transportation, as well as several hours, only for this to happen. I requested another doctor because they said there were 2 doctors in at the time. They refused to let me see the other doctor unless I did all this all over again and waste money on Septa and spent another 3 hours to get to and from there. The exam never happened, but I bet they fraudulently submitted a request for payment from my insurance for an exam that never happened. I have NEVER in my 51 years had a doctors office expect the patient to compensate so that they don't have to have the contractor come fix their mistake, or pay a new contractor to hang the TV correctly. Very unprofessional of them. Just pay the $80 to have it mounted correctly. It was only a 22-24" flatscreen, and could be corrected in 20 minutes.

I bought a pair of glasses that I really liked, but 6 months later the frame broke as I picked the…read moreglasses up off my desk. I had noticed small cracks in the frame but I paid no attention to them. I took them back to the store and they had another pair of the same frames so they popped the lenses in those and charged me $79. Looked for the cracks but there were none. I was OK with that. One month later the replacement frames broke again on the other side. Same cracks were present then that weren't when I got them. Took them back and was charged another $79 even though they were only a month old. Now I am seeing cracks starting to appear and the lens is cracking in the 3rd replacement pair. I am a senior citizen on a fixed income and glasses are expensive so I take very good care of them. I have been wearing glasses for decades and have never had a pair break. I have tried to contact Visionworks customer service but have not received any response. The only thing worse than the frames I received from Visionworks is the "customer service" from Visionworks. They do not stand behind their products, beware before you buy. I cannot recommend them

The eye glass boutique is unreliable at best and extremely aggravating at worst. I was promised my glasses in two weeks but didn't receive them for a month and I didn't purchase new frames-all that was needed were new lenses! I know of at least two other people who had similar experiences. So I gave 4 stars for the doctors and staff and ZERO stars for the eyeglass boutique.

So I'm on the fence about this office. There are 2 the exam area and the frame ordering across the…read morehall. Here's my pluses and problems: 1. The exam office is great. The staff are very knowledgeable, and friendly 2. Appointments galore! If you need an appointment they can make it work 3. Fast! I had my pupils dilated and I was seeing within hours. They were so nice about everything! 4. They take a lot of different coverages including mine! Now let's discuss the 'guy across the hall'... If you choose to you can have your exam and frames done at the same time. If you're me you go in the office across the hallway, see glasses from the 1920s and simply prefer to get them ordered elsewhere. You would think that would be perfectly fine considering so many folks do eyewear. Whelp, I might be wrong! For 2 weeks I had to deal with an older gentleman who clearly gets his knickers in a bunch if you ask him a question when you don't buy things directly from him. Like you know, are these the right glasses? Here the problem today. He referred to my frames as "cheap and worthless" when I asked him to inspect the prescription (which he says he can do)He throws them on his table and says, "you get what you pay for." Then dismisses me. So he didn't help me at all. I could only imagine if I actually purchased my glasses from him. So yeah. Back to the gals from the exam office next door. I walk in they inspect my glasses and boom! The makers I used gave me someone else's prescription! They were polite, and quick. I'm not sure what the discord is with the guy from across the hall, but...I won't be using his services ever. There is a reason why that guy is in an office across the hall. It might be time for him to retire. Be mindful your experience might be different from mine, but if you just need a proper exam and take the script someplace else, they WILL still help. Good luck with the guy from across the hall.

I can't speak to the quality of their eye exams as I started going to an optometrist a few years…read moreback and have been very happy with their quality and knowledge. I can speak for the price of glasses tough here. Having exhausted online stores trying to find a quality pair that wouldn't break the bank I found myself looking for a place to actually try them on at. Nearby I have various dr's offices, bjs, Pearle Vision, and lens crafters. After a bit of research I determined bjs was likely to have the best price. I found a pair I liked quickly and, after applying their 60% off sale, got them and lenses (no extras) for 99$. They are considered out of network but my total out of pocket will end up being about 30$. There is no way I'd get that at any of the locations mentioned above. They run this 60% off sale 3 times a year I was told and the only one that rivals it is Black Friday. Highly recommend going here during a sale.

BJ's was offering 50% off lenses so I sent in my glasses to get new lenses. Despite the 5-7…read morebusiness day time limit, it took over 4 weeks to get my glasses back. I continued to call and would receive the same update that they were "in processing." When I finally received them back, the frame was broken on the one side. They told me I had signed a form saying I was responsible if they broke them while doing new lenses. Receiving broken frames 4 weeks late was not worth the $50 discount.
