We had a bit of trouble finding the bakery, as the sign is partially obstructed by a tree, but it was worth driving past a couple times. There's a lovely parking lot nearby, too. A slight bump through the door, so I had to get a running start in my chair. Didn't expect the store to be quite so tiny. I'm pretty sure the other customers jumped out of my way as I came barreling in, but no one complained. The store was packed, which I took as a good sign. I was there specifically for the marshmallow donuts, but left with a variety of tasty treats, which we gobbled up joyfully over the course of the day. The sweet woman who waited on us, who is also one of the bakers, gave me a sample of their black bottom cupcakes, which put my grandmother's to shame. And I must return for their hat-shaped chocolate covered cupcakes named after the fedora. I regret leaving without one. Definitely a little taste of baltimore. I highly recommend read more

It's got a lot of choices and I've never been disappointed Always spend too much because it all looks and taste good

They made a beautiful 95th birthday cake for our mother. A masterpiece both inside and out!

I mean, the cookies we got for a luncheon were fine, but the impression I walked away with was of an institution resting on its laurels, with crumpled, years-old, amateur paper signs hanging everywhere. Because I don't have fond memories from the last century of this as a family bakery, it's not the right vibe for me. read more

So this place is in the neighbor I grew up in. I'm back in town for my 50th high school reunion and had to check out the Best Bakery anywhere. They are small but that is only on space not service or taste. I would recommend the slab cheesecake ( some places called smearcase) and the marshmallow stuffed doughnuts You cannot go wrong with any choice. While we were waiting for our order to be packaged, one of the bakers brought us samples of the butter cookies fresh and hot from the oven If you go on a Friday or Saturday go early read more

Fabulous old-timey bakery. We are fortunate they are still here. Often, there are long lines, especially on Saturdays and at the holidays. Staff are attentive and patient while customers make up their minds. Outstanding quality. Definitely not corporate baking that we find throughout this area. Fenwick Bakery makes me think that many of us no longer know what homemade taste like. You've got to go, but don't get the cherry danish. Leave them for me. read more

Yum yum yum !!!! Love the chocolate iced donuts . Taste like donuts from the old days. Chocolate is delicious, not waxy.

Pastry. Bread, and cakes are always delicious. Along with service and a smile. Especially good their doughnuts.

Everything is 5 stars for me. Someone commented on Vibes. The vibes is good food. Put it in your mouth and enjoy. I bring donuts to my job Everything is cool. Im a star. Why because the baked goods make them happy. As for me this is one of my happy places. I hope they teach the recipes and the young folks they try to teach listen. Fenwicks is a jewel. read more

I have been to Fenwick Bakery two or three times a year for the last 15 - 20 years. It is consistently a high quality bakery and one of the few that makes peach cake, in season. read more

I came here last Saturday morning to pick up a dozen donuts to take to a family get together. OMG, the chocolate covered donuts are a-mazing. They make Dunkin taste like cheap-o fluff circles. These donuts are heavy but Light, so Very Fresh, and tasty! I also sampled the honeybuns-- de-licious in every way. Go early before they are out of everything-- Fenwick Bakery is a classic Baltimore bakery on Harford Road in Parkville. read more

Omg . Everything that my family and I have ever gotten from your bakery from your donuts to your cakes has been nothing but delicious and fresh. Service is amazing always and the ambiance is clean and makes you feel like you've been in the kitchen all day long. Highly recommend it. Can't get marshmallow donuts everywhere but for some reason you knock those out of the park every time. If anything go in for the marshmallow donuts. Highly recommend those. They're my go to favorite every time read more

Heard about the Peach rolls and Chocolate Donuts so decided to give them a try. A smaller spot that is grab and go. Read their story and interesting how they've changed and evolved over the years. I got there around 3:30 on a Thursday so some items were sold out or low (morning next time.) Found out the Peach Roll was a seasonal item-it will return next summer. The Chocolate frosted Donut didn't disappoint (I got the last one). I don't think I've ever seen so much frosting on a Donut! Got some other pastries to try and we enjoyed all of them especially the Raisin and Raspberry Danish. Saw a good variety of Cookies (by the pound), Bread, Pies and of course Cakes for ordering. Nice and kind lady was very helpful -patiently answering all of my questions. Even put twine on the box. They are delivering traditional bakery goodness! Don't miss this Parkville Gem that's been around for over 100 years! read more

Nothing special but great customer service. The interior is intimate & slighted dated. Limited choices in the selections but maybe it was the time of day. The danishes were not memorable. read more

"They're like mini Chips Ahoy. I *** love Chips Ahoy." So says my friend reviewing Fenwick's cookies, so 5 stars it is. I also learned today that my friend's wedding cake came from Fenwick. Very quality. Much yum. Wow. Today's excursion was for the beloved Balmer institution of smearcase, as written up by Atlas Obscura. It's like cheesecake but both softer and firmer at the same time. Softer taste, smoother, creamier, yet it holds together more like a cheese pastry than a cheesecake. And this is the place you'll want to get it! While I was there, I splurged on a couple of other fun items, such as the cookies noted above. They are nice and crispy. I don't like crispy cookies but these were a gift and the gift was well received, so there you go! Finally, they had these... chocolate things. Turns out they were chocolate covered chocolate muffins. That idea alone is worth 5 stars. I brought that to the chocolate loving child of the giftee household and I can vouch that it was extremely well received. So between all that and the cake? This is your spot. Brave the neighborhood - it's really not bad at all here - and wait your turn, and you will be richly rewarded. Ask about the smearcase (or cheesecake, they kept calling it). You may need to come early for it. Worth it. read more

Really good donuts and mini pastries. Best Angel cream in town. Got a stale cake from them once so stick with the donuts.

Hands down the best bakery ever! This place will never disappoint everything is phenomenal! My favorites are the toasted coconut pastry, chocolate frosted doughnuts, rum buns, and the peach cakes; you will want one of everything and the women that work there are very friendly I give this bakery 10 stars read more

This is a 100 year old family run Swiss bakery that was passed on to its head bakers. The tradition is alive...and well...in Hamilton, Baltimore. Wow do I love their homemade rolls, breads, but the danish and marshmallow creme donut are to die fir. Here's a fun thing to do. Do a taste test. 1 marshmallow creme donut from Fenwick and one from nearby Woodlea. Cant go wrong!!!! read more

I been going to Fenwick bakery for 50+ years. it was a tradition for my birthday to be bought from this bakery. Yesterday when I had my cake it was very dry and the icing definitely was not appealing. they used to make beautiful roses out of the icing. They were fluffy and delicious. Now I don't know what you call what they put on there, but it wasn't roses and it was not beautiful. Something has changed over the years. Joanne read more

Been a go to bakery for decades. The pastries, doughnuts, peach cake, and many other of their baked goods continue to be the best around.

Small, locally owned business. Their case is always well stocked with fresh goodies. Our favorites include their famous marshmallow donuts and cherry pastries. They also make reasonably priced cakes to order. For an affordable price they made our sons Harry Potter cake with fondant and matching cupcakes. The only thing lacking at this bakery is that it is in serious need of a remodel. Many of the ceiling tiles are discolored and stained, which isn't what you want to see at a place you're buying food. read more

These are the type of donuts and pastries I had as a kid growing up in Baltimore. They also make delicious cakes and pies. My favorite are the marshmallow or the chocolate cake donuts. read more

Bought 2 pies. Blueberry crumb pie and a Key lime pie. Not impressed. The key lime lacked any flavor. Was way too gooey and the crust did not seem fully cooked. The best part was the immense amount of whipped cream which made it look impressive. But lacked everything I was expecting. The Blueberry pie looked like a Sara Lee frozen pie and my son said that the 'filling' tasted like preserves. If you like that type of pie this is your place. Personally, I like the real blueberries in it. Again, the crust did not look or taste home made. Maybe I was expecting too much. I will continue to make my own which my husband prefers. read more

Epic Baltimore staple. Food is amazing and the prices can't be beat! This is your spot for a little Saturday treat. (Wish they were open on Sundays). I'm so glad I don't live closer to this gem, otherwise I'd be there way too often for my own good. If you haven't been, go grab a piece of coffee cake and the marshmallow doughnut ASAP! read more

I tried 5 of their desserts on different occasions. Even there so called famous peach thingy. I tried bottomless cupcake tasted like it was made from a box. I cant even remember the other things I had. I guess people grew up on it and aren't use to anything better. I never , ever give a one star. Yup that bad! read more

I came in for donuts but I'll be coming back for the peach roll. This small shop is unassuming and baked in tradition. You can tell when you walk in that there were millions of delicious treats made here over the years. My main goal was to come in to grab some donuts for my co-workers until I was met with some beautiful peaches in the display. Still got the donuts which were great btw and had some of the best, thick icing chocolate on the yeast donut. BUT the star of the show was the peach roll. It honestly doesn't look like much but the second I bit into that thing, the juice from that quarter peach slice was rolling down the side of my mouth. The pastry is not too sweet with some cinnamon flavor which is a perfect compliment for the perfectly ripe, delicious fruit on top. Amazing! read more

Pastries, pies, and donuts were just okay. Nothing special. The store was kind of dirty throughout.. it's just something I pay close attention to when I'm purchasing food in general. I came here today and tried the peach bun which is a small version of the peach cake. It was ok. I also had a lemon danish which was good but not outstanding. Always amazing doughnuts! The chocolate raised is unparalleled; it's light and fluffy and icing tastes like quality chocolate. The rolls and bread are great. I don't love the prepackaged cupcakes or the cookies but everything else is great. One of the only places to get the Baltimore regional dessert smearcase and I think its the best in Baltimore. In peach season they also have an other classic Baltimore treat, peach cake which is excellent. read more

I only got the chocolate donuts and omg they were so good . The bread was light and fluffy, I will definitely be coming back!

I visited at around 330p so I didnt know what was going to be left after all day. I had a sweet tooth that was searching for a good cheesecake. Soooo let me tell you Fenwick Bakery gave it to me! I got the cheesecake and it was amazing. I am not big on sweets but today I needed something just right and the cheesecake was . It was a slight sweetness not overwhelming but light and delicate and the crust was delicate and light as well, like a pastry. Im in love. I took my little sister along and she ordered a jelly donut and a sticky bun for mom. They loved theirs as well. You all have to try them! read more
