Went to eat at Fenian's Pub for the first time. Went with a group, so ordered the potato croquettes, they were ok, a little gummy in the middle, Guiness BBQ chicken wings, good wings!, and reuben egg rolls, good also, wish they had a little more meat. Entrees: Two of us had the fish and chips, it is a decent size hunk of battered cod and what looked like hand cut fries with tartar sauce and comeback sauce. The fish was awesome! Been looking for a long time for a decent battered fish and chips in the metro area, finally found it. The fries were between a regular fry and steak fries in size. The cook on the fries were a little too long as they were a little hard. The tartar sauce was good, i did not use the comeback sauce. The other party had the corned beef and cabbage. He really enjoyed it and gave us a piece of the corned beef and it was probable the most tender corned beef i have every had. I definitely would go back.

Fenian's is a chill pub here in the suburbs of Jackson. The food was legit. The atmosphere reminded me of my college days. The staff was very quick

This is my second visit here (once for lunch and then dinner). I've gotten the fish tacos both times and had the same server each visit and neither disappointed. Place is very divey with a hole-in-the-wall feel to it and it's small. But everyone there is welcoming and food is great. I enjoy the fish tacos as the fish is always hot and the sauce that comes on top takes it over the edge. The fries are ok but by the time I finish the tacos I really don't care about the fries. Defiantly worth stopping by.

Excellent atmosphere and a lively crowd without being overwhelming. Beautifully fried fish and chips to start Lent. The fish is a bit under-salted to enjoy with the traditional malt vinegar, but it's fine with the tartar sauce. Despite an ample crowd, the server greeted me quickly and was quite friendly.

Great place to drop in and hang out with friends! Drinks are good and the bartenders and servers are nice (always the same people when I go since I only ever go with my friends). Super casual, and laid back vibes. Feel free to bring your own card & board games for an extra good time. Great bar food like the buffalo pub wings! Still iffy on the signature dishes since I've only had one and tried it once-- the Irish Curry Chicken-- I ate it served over rice but you can get the fries. It was just alright but not a complete write-off. It's worth the try!

Met up with a few foodies today for lunch at Fenians! I got the Thursday special, hamburger steak with mash potatoes. The mashed potatoes was creamy, just the right amount of butter. Everyone at the table got to try my mash and loved it! This was my first time having mash and slightly cooked kale, I really enjoyed the texture combo! I think I want my mash with kale from now on. The hamburger steak was nicely seasoned with a hint of sweetness from the caramelized onions. I didn't know that I can request my hamburger steak to be cooked medium, so it was made well done and a hair tough, but now I know. The technique on how to make a scotch egg is a tad tricky to get right. They got that baby down. Yolk was still runny, had just the right amount of sausage, fried crispy without overcooking the yolk, but thoroughly cooking the sausage. It's like breakfast in one bite! The ladies that ordered the curry really enjoyed it, I got to try some, and it was good. It had some Indian spices in it, but very faint. I didn't taste any heat, but I have no sense when it comes to spicy, the ladies said it was mild. We all got to try the fish n chips. Cod was fresh, the fry on the fish and chips were spot on, but just needed a hint of salt.

I love a good burger. And this place was probably the best burger I've eaten since moving to Jackson a few years back. I will be going back

Stop for the Poutine unless your next stop is Canada along I-55. I am not convinced that it is Irish. I am not convinced that is Canadian. I do not know in what ethnic group this "Irish Poutine" fits. It is a mystery that I do not care to solve. Do you remember your 5th grade science project volcano? The one where the baking soda and red dye erupted? Keep that in mind. The crevice of brown gravy marinates the standard golden bar-fries. The ones toward the bottom are goners--mush. Delightful mush as they fade away. The surviving fries drift afloat sending SOS signals as they reach for those green chive lifesavers. They are still hot and crispy. That familiar ball-game yellow cheese weighs heavy on them. No one received the SOS transmission. They are sinking into their brown salty demise rapidly. Irish or not; it is efffin' delicious. Don't wait for the real thing in Canada. Stop here and this may weigh in on your original decision to travel to Canada. Editor's note: all late-night bar nachos are delicious. However, this poutine is the exception. It is a gran slam because of its banal elements: fries; gravy; meat; cheese. Any combination of those would be great.

This place is a solid 5 star, but I only do 4 stars just not to seem I'm biased. So it's 5 stars. My boyfriend took me here because he used to come here when he lived in MS and he thought I would like it. He wasn't wrong. We shared the potato croquette with chicken and chips, it was amazing, I'm writing this review as I eat. Our friend got the chicken curry, everything was so good. The service was great too. I forgot to take pics when food came, so I did the end result Highly recommend.

This is my neighborhood bar and it's always a good time. Unique, eclectic little spot for Jackson, Mississippi. I usually get whiskey shots and pickle juice! Also, get the fried pickles for snacking. Delicious.

So far the service has been great Jamie is a very nice person and a cut up. Will place a full review shortly.

This place on on point! Their Scottish egg was one of the best I've had our bartender Jamie kept our drinks full and was entertaining. I ordered the Ruben on Jamie's referral and he was not wrong. My friend had the shepherds pie with lamb and it was fantastic

Rustic little spot near the corner of West and George St. I always thought it was strictly a bar, which probably accounts for me never eating here before. Only one guy worked the dining room but he did a good job for the most part. I ordered the Old Tavern Burger with the house cut fries. I asked if they really were house cut and he told me they cut them when ordered. My food didn't take long to come out and everything was piping hot. When I saw the shine on that bun and felt how soft it was, I knew I was in for a treat. This was one of the best burgers I've tasted. The patty was fresh and well seasoned and not dry at all. The fries made me super happy, as they were not only fresh cut but seasoned as well. While I was eating, two guys from the kitchen came out to check on everyone to ensure everyone was enjoying their food. My first visit won't be my last!

Great Legos on display, a cool "game" vibe, and very friendly staff. The food was also really good. The chili cheese tots were excellent. The tots were crispy and the chili and cheese were delicious. My chicken sandwich on Texas toast was also very good. The pickles they put on this sandwich, along with the garlic mayo, really add great flavor, and the toast was buttered and perfectly toasted. The pizza was good and you can add extra pepperonis if you want, for $1. They have tons of board games and card games and even a few video games for people to play. They host gaming nights, apparently, which is cool. The service was also really good. They asked if we wanted water to go, and without asking, they brought a small to-go cup of lemons, since we had lemon with the water we had with our food. A very nice touch. He informed me that they have various nights where they have board games, movies, and other activities. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw and pretzel bites. The food came out in a timely manner and was well prepared at a great temperature. Although the coleslaw was bland, you can tell it was freshly made. The pulled pork was a good portion and flavorful while the pretzel bites were fluffy and salty just like you would want them. As to my old fashioned, it tasted good, but they didn't include the traditional cherry for the old fashioned. I enjoyed this experience and the next time I'm in town I will visit for sure.
