Such a great place except the fries. But....I loved every second of the diversity. I would so come back any time , and day.

I went here for lunch. I hope to someday experience F. Jones for blues! But anyway, all I can review is the food and atmosphere in the afternoon. BEST BBQ I'VE EVER HAD!! Whoever said Memphis had the best BBQ has not been to Frank Jones Corner in Jackson, MS. It was so delicious, sauce wasn't even needed, but of course I had sauce, because that was good enough to eat with a spoon!! Also, try their fried grits. Amazing! I'm not even a big fan of grits, but these are a must have. Just watch out, you'll be hooked. I may have dreams about this food. I wish I lived closer. They had a variety of items on their menu, including pasta, and they all looked good. Prices were very reasonable, in fact compared to food up north, pretty darn cheap! The atmosphere was a small bar. I hesitate to say dive bar, because it is a recent renovation. Dives to me sort of mean run down. This is not. Its a nice place, but not a classy sit down romantic meal type place. During the blues lunch while I was there, the music was also great. I met and talked to the owner, and some other employees. it was a very pleasant and enjoyable afternoon. He is looking forward to revitalizing Jackson, he is doing his part. That is a very worthy goal, I fell in love with this city. F.Jones doesn't have the history that Peaches and Mayflower has, but I guarantee the building does. The owner and other employees will be happy to share it with you! I hope that you will visit this wonderful gem in Jackson!

Love this spot! I've been going for several years and this review is overdue. FJC is located in downtown Jackson on Farish Street. It's a late-night dive bar that really kicks off around midnight. It's one of the few spots in Jackson that is helping to keep the blues music scene alive. As many have indicated in their reviews, this is a spot that goes late (after other bars shut down). Street parking is available close to the venue. Cover is cheap (usually $5), and free if you arrive early (? prior to 11:30pm). Not a lot of seating, but there are stools at the bar, a small lounge section with tables up front, and picnic tables out back (good when weather permits). However, with music this good you likely won't need to sit too long. They also serve good bar food such as the catfish basket, hot dogs, fries, etc... Staff is laid back, and service has been good for me. Great place to take a group of friends for some late night fun and dancing!

I was completely disrespected by the security staff there last night for no reason. I bought around of shots for friends and didn't even get to enjoy them. Security was yelling in my friends ear to get out and I was arguing with him because I hadn't gotten my card back. I hadn't paid my tap and really shouldn't have the way I was treated. This place will gladly take your money and disrespect you right after. This isn't the kind of business Jackson needs to support. I will never go there again !

This place is always a lot of fun. Good crowd, awesome bartenders. They have live jazz and blues band, the music is always amazing! They open until 4am, so if the clubs are closing and you don't wanna go home yet, this is the place to be.

The party doesn't really start until midnight but it was nice to get there early and find a place to sit.

Customer service is incredibly friendly, both on the phone and in person. They really treat you right here. The burgers are classic standards and hard to beat. I also love that they offer a true vegetarian/vegan option with the portabella burger. The Bella is substantial but a little thinner than others I've had, which I actually prefer -- it allows for more flavor and crispiness. I'd recommend getting it dressed the same way as their classic burgers rather than the default build. The fries are fresh-cut, damn good, and come in bountiful portions. The space is small and clearly well-worn, but that's part of the charm -- it's clean, unpretentious, and you can see the entire kitchen at work. All in all, this is a go-to lunch takeout spot in Jackson and absolutely worth the trip if this is what you're looking for.

I got the strawberry chicken salad, which is usually one of my favorites. This one was by far one of the worst I've ever had. To start, the little bit of chicken that was on there seemed like the leftovers from what they had after they made sandwiches. It was very lacking in flavor. The balsamic vinaigrette (which I usually love) was very bitter and had the worst flavor. They really need to change that recipe! The pecans were supposed to be "candied", which really elevates the flavors of a strawberry salad. There were very few, and they were not candied, but just regular salted tiny pieces. Overall the combination of all the flavors just didn't work, and made for a boring tastebud experience. IF I ever go back I'll try something else. As far as the service, that was disappointing too. The young lady at the register was very nice, but everyone else could really use some customer service training. After eating, I went back to the counter to get a to-go box. I stood there for 3-4 minutes, and had numerous employees walk right past me and not even make eye contact. Even the manager that was in the kitchen making food looked over at me and said nothing. I was trying to wait patiently, but after a few minutes, I finally flagged someone down to get the to-go box. It doesn't seem like they care much about the customer experience, and that usually makes up for lackluster food.

This was a disappointing experience…read more Food: Food was just not good. Or great. I choked it down because traveling and already ordered. You can tell this is a trouble location. French dip. Almost nothing but bread. 1 and 1/2 small slices of meat. That's it. Like so little meat that it's sad. Just really sad because I picked this location for just that....it's location. I asked for no creole mustard. Of course it got put on there anyway. The lady at the counter was nice and friendly and did her job. But unfortunately the kitchen was a miss this time. Again, I had to eat it and go because I just didn't have the energy to make complications, so I choked it down. Service: The actual service was fine. No complaints. Atmosphere: Fine. No complaints. Restroom: Disgusting and filthy with a leak problem or a lack of cleaning problem. Horrible. Clean it up. Overall: I give 2 stars only because of the tea, which seemed good, and the soup I guess. And the politeness. Maybe the other food is OK - but the french dip was a miss. This location needs help. I do feel like the value was cheated from me this time. Value was not there today. $12.99 for a sandwich with measley portion of meat? Owner - how would you feel if I served you that? I want you to order it and see what I mean. Really just.....disappointing. This is not a french dip how it's supposed to be. Newk's, you let me down this time.

Out of the 20+ orders we've placed, they have impressively managed to get every single one wrong. Truly a talent. And of course, we never have time to go back and fix their "creative interpretations" of our meals--because who doesn't love surprises, right? I'd only recommend this place if you enjoy receiving the exact opposite of what you ordered. Oh, and the French dip with no au jus? Adorable. That's just a sad little roast beef sandwich pretending to be something it's not. And with more bread than meat, no less! A real culinary masterpiece.
