FedEx goes by the rules on delivery, whgich is fine, and they have great late hours and convenient pick up locations, so it always works for me. I watched an idiotic customer go nearly postal on a FedEx counter person in the Crofton, MD facility, and the employee did a masterful job of keeping his cool, even though the customer was an idiot who had no idea how or when it is approriate to complain. When the customer crudely and violently verbally assaulted the clerk, the clerk merely responded with "I love you too, sir". I have to say, they are nothing if not professional. Fedex use to be the best you can get for shipping anything. Now they just don't care. I ordered brake parts on Monday and got a confirmed delivery by end of day on Thursday. The didn't and when I attempted to get an online status it showed the same delivery by end of day Thursday. I called customer service (that's another review by itself) after endless automated prompts I got a live rep who checked and found out the package hadn't reached the regional warehouse in Hagerstown, MD. Here's my issue if there were delays why didn't the system indicate delays. There has been bad weather so that would have been reasonable to state it. They never said there were delays even when talking to the rep she didn't say there were delays of any type. That's not good customer service, it's borderline intentional deceit. Our package was not delivered and the company stated that our address was wrong. when we called to ask how it was wrong, it was verified that the address was correct and then we were told us that no one was home to receive the package. This was a lie as our home camera system will show a truck driving by and not stopping at the house. And the day of delivery there was someone home. Once again tried to call FedEx and you can only get a hold of a call center and had to explain this to them only to now be told that a case has been made. No one should have to be put on hold due to another person not wanting to do there job. This comment is not aimed at this location in particular but the tracking system is terrible. I had to reorder an item that was damaged and the company used FedEx. It showed a date and I used that day to schedule work around that item. Lo and behold it was not delivered and they stated they had to make an appointment to deliver it. Now we had the same item delivered without an appointment previously. And no where was this communicated on any of their correspondence. I assume they assumed we understood their inner processes. It all started on New Years Eve 12/31/14. This was the day a 2 day delivery package was to be delivered by Fed Ex. My wife was home all day expecting the package. Once 8PM rolled around my wife checked the status on email. To her surprise, an attempted delivery was made with the notes, "Customer not available or business closed." Once my wife saw this she went to the door to look for a door tag. Nothing. Too late to call the local office, our only option was to wait for delivery on 1/2/15. We had plans on this day, enjoying the New Year, and arrived back home around 7pm. Again no package, and no door tag. Checking email it showed that a 2nd attempt to deliver was made with the notes "Customer not available or business closed." She called 1-800-GoFed Ex and discovered the package was at the local office on Baldwin Ave. We arrived showed our credentials, received the package. When my wife started to share the ordeal of what had happend, how to get a refund for Fed Ex clearly did not deliver as promised, she was met with flippant attitudes, and brushing off, as to this is not a Fed Ex problem. The woman behind the counter would not stop to listen to my wife as she explained the problem. That night I sent an email to Lee Cunningham Manager Station Operations, about the whole issue. He responded the next day with what felt like a heartfelt conern, and asked for the tracking number to address the issues concerning the 2 day delivery. 22 days later, with no response from Lee I emailed him about the refund issue. He explained that he followed up with his employees not leaving door tags, and I will need to follow up with the shipper for my refund. Lee was able to correct the refund issue for me, however here is what to expect from this location: -Drivers that DO NOT attempt delivery, yet lie and say they did -Not once but twice -Employees that cannot be bothered with customer concerns -If Fed Ex is concerned stay with 5 day shipping, for paying extra only costs YOU time/gas/a day of work. I teleworked the entire day for anticipation of my delivery. However the package never came. Looking at the status from FedEx, it states no one was at home when it was attempted to be delivered. Today we recieved a delivery from Fed Ex. A mattress weighing 95 lbs. My wife was home alone with rain in the forecast, the delivery driver just dropped the package off at the bottom of the steps to our house, no knock, no horn, nothing. Fearing it getting wet my wife had to drag it up 14 steps to get it in the house. Awaiting a vital part for my vehicle that was overnight expressed to me. Was due to be delivered by noon the next day. Noon came and went. I had to google how to get ahold of a person, call center at an undisclosed location, and was told it would be delivered that night by 8. I called again at 8 as it was not delivered. They said it would be there next day by noon and that it had been on a truck. I watched the truck drive by my house and did not stop to deliver my package. Next day, was not delivered at noon. I called again and was promised It would be delivered by 8 and that it was on a truck. I called just before 8 and was told that they did not know if it was on a truck and could not guarantee where my package was and to just wait for a call from the distribution center. Still have not received a call. The sole purpose of this company is to deliver packages and this is not the first time that this company has failed. Just like everyone else, they want to blame weather, or COVID. Take some responsibility and be accountable. I am now having to take off work for the third day in a row because my package that was overnight expressed to me could not be delivered on time or even the next day. Extremely disappointed. Amazon can give me a 3 hour window, and update that window, of when my package will be delivered and it always arrives. 32 hours past the deadline and I am still waiting with no knowledge of how to get my package. At this point, I'll take an Uber to the facility to pick it up. Why does the distribution center close at the same time as the time the package is deadlined to arrive? Not too long ago I considered Federal Express the "Gold Standard", i.e. their delivery service was top shelf. No longer - Here are my real examples: My home is approximately 1/10 mile from a well-traveled highway. On October 31, 2019, rather than bring a package to my house, it was left along the well-traveled highway propped up against the rusted "guard rail". I called FedEx to complain. "Oh, we are so sorry, this will never happen again". I demanded that someone call me back with an explanation. Later I received a call, who after questioning the caller, I was told they were a subcontract carrier for FedEx. The first thing out of the caller's mouth, "I'm sorry you didn't get your package, we will redeliver." Me: Nope wrong complaint! "Oh, you're the one with the dogs." Me: Nope, I have never had dogs and my two neighbors do not have dogs. The caller, "Well, this will never happen again." Now, on November 15, 2019, I arrive home from work to find a very large package I ordered. And YES, leaning against the "guard rail" along the main highway for anyone to take. I called FedEx again. "Oh, we are so sorry, this will never happen again." Federal Express has gone from the Gold Standard for delivery to a third rate delivery service. As a customer, they couldn't care less if someone had stolen my orders; which everyone knows would be a nightmare to deal with in terms of trying to prove the packages were taken. From now on, if given the opportunity to choose a carrier, it will not be Federal Express. Very sad... Federal Express is no long Gold, not even Silver or Bronze... perhaps "Stone" representing their "Stone Cold" customer service and disrespect for their customers. read more

The driver still has not responded , which is incredibly unprofessional. I give no stars. But had so I could write review. I have had the worst experience with this company. Spent 6 hours on the phone and spoke to 7 representatives and still can't get the package delivered. It was addressed incorrectly to begin with both the shipper and receiver have put in numerous address changed request and spoke to 7 yes 7 reps and still no guarantee the high value international shipment will arrive at the correct address. Thankfully no one has been home at the incorrect address or they would have possession of my package which contains thousands of dollars of merchandise I have been waiting 15 days to receive. It's rare to leave a 5 star review and frankly the situation with Fed Ex almost started as a 1-2 star review; however, Helena and her team took over where the generic customer service person left off. I was expecting an international package and missed the first delivery attempt so I went online and signed/released the package for the next business day. I came home the next day to a Fed Ex door tag..called the main Fed Ex number. I poke with a young lady who told me the drivers do not have the ability to see when packages are released so I would have to be at home to sign or go pick the box up after hours. I probed a bit asking why there was a sign and release capability if it wasn't information that would be given to the drivers. She didn't have a response and told me I should probably wait until the package is declared undelivered and then go to the location and pick it up. At that point I asked for her supervisor. Instead of her supervisor I was transferred to Helena, and thank goodness! She told me the driver had the release information but was unable to scan it in. He tried multiple times without success and even called her to ask for alternative options. She told me they would figure out how to get my package to me the next day and we hung up. About an hour later Helena calls me back and asks if it would be ok to get the package to my house that evening...unheard of. I told her I would be home and would very much appreciate it. The same driver who was unable to release the package stopped by about an hour later, in his personal vehicle, to deliver my package. Never have I experience such an awesome level of customer service! The delivery was followed up with two separate calls from FedEx personnel to confirm I received the package. I looked on the FedEx website for some way to acknowledge Helena and her team but couldn't find anything. I'll keep looking and may even call the location and ask for a supervisor just to rave! read more

Today is my first time going to this location. I personally experienced worst service in this location. They don't even feel like greeting, or atleast respond to when customer greets. Gary McCaslin went above & beyond. He called me from his truck while running his route. Found out my package was NOT supposed to be on his truck. Igh am definitely very disappointed. I spoke with Kevin on the phone regarding my package he told me that I could pick up between 4 and 4:30pm. I arrived at the center at 4:10pm and was told that the driver picked up another route and that they were closing early and that I could come back later and get my package, needless to say I drove 45min in traffic to get there. I would like to tell you guys that my package had a restriction on it and no one could pick it up it must be delivered. Why is it that the manager did not take the time to find this out? I ordered a computer online and paid for 3 day shipping. It came in to this center at 730 this morning, on the third day since it was shipped. I am supposed to go out of town tomorrow and based on the website, the package will not be delivered until Monday. As a Marine, I only get the chance to go home to visit family at very specific points in time. This item is very expensive and I do not want it to be returned to sender because I am not available to pick it up when it comes in. This is also a present for my younger brother's birthday which is on Sunday. So, I decided to contact the center and see if there is anyway I can pick up the package. First of all, I was unable to locate a phone number for this center after searching on the internet for awhile, which was very inconvenient. If I had found the phone number I could have saved myself a trip to this center. I opted to drive down to the center and try to talk to the individual behind the counter about picking up my package. While I understand that there may be reasons that I can not pick up the package at the time, the lady behind the counter did not even give me a chance to talk. I had a feeling that I would have trouble because when the lady finally come out from the back room she had a very hateful expression on her face. As soon as I started to explain my situation, she rolled her eyes and proceeded to interrupt me repeatedly. I attempted multiple times to speak with the lady but she just repeated that there was no way she could do that because the company required that it would be delivered Monday. I found this confusing because at no point did she take my tracking number or address or any other kind of identifying information to determine which package was mine. I was never able to fully explain my story to the lady. As I mentioned before, I understand that there may be reasons why I was unable to obtain my package at this time, but that is no excuse for such negative customer service. Also, I have now wasted money by paying for the three day shipping because they will not even deliver the package on Saturday. I will also have to postpone when I go out of town now, and because I have fixed leave dates, I will lose two days of time that I would have otherwise been able to spend with my family. If this is the customer service I can expect from FedEx then I will not be using their service in the future, and I will make sure to tell all my family and friends about this situation and ensure that they do not make use of their services either. read more
