I spoke with someone on the phone who gave a low quote, had immediate availability, and I understood the terms of the quote which were they charge a full hour just to come to your house for travel and then a two hour minimum. Our move went two hours over the minimum. This was not helped by the fact that they insisted on taking their time to wrap everything in plastic wrap even when we had some cheap stuff that we said just throw it on the truck we don't care, and disassembling things that really didn't require it. Our house was only 900 square feet and we did not have all that much and were moving less than a mile away, not across the state or country. We had to finally stop them and say this is getting to be too long and decided to dismount and move our TVs and bed frames by ourselves the next day. We were fine with paying for the extra two hours. Then comes the surprise: A $400 FEE FOR MATERIALS. What materials? Plastic wrap and packaging tape, and I suppose depreciation on their moving blankets? Seriously folks, this company will get you one way or another. Make sure that you have wrapped up everything yourself. Their workers were personable and hard-working, but the business model here is to ensure you go over the two hour minimum and to charge an exorbitant rate for materials. Do not be deceived on the phone when making the initial appointment by their very knowledgeable and reassuring booking staff. That's why I thought a two star rating must have been a mistake. I was talking to a real person. The text messages that were sent seemed to have prepackaged responses and I ask if I was talking to a bot they said no. They claimed their Yelp rating is low because they "don't pay for reviews like other companies." Well, I'm a real customer and have paid dearly to provide you, the unwitting consumer, with this review. Moving is stressful enough. Getting ripped off is just insult to injury. Their phone number will come up as spam on your phone, and if you've made it this far reading this review, you can understand why. If you're desperate and have lots of cash to burn, this company will be great. However, avoid if you can!

I find it frustrating when businesses try to extract as much as they can from customers through various pretexts and dishonest practices. JFP Express, however, was honest and transparent from the start. Jason was very courteous and communicative, arranging everything seamlessly. They were kind and thoughtful, helping me make adjustments to the furniture layout once we got to the destination. Their positivity through one of the hardest situations I've ever gone through was much-needed and made me feel confident in entering this next chapter. I even had a last minute change to the destination (originally everything was going into storage but I ended up finding an apartment just in time), and the professionalism and patience from the entire Bookstore team through this change was excellent. Furthermore, their opening paragraph states they "in no event function... as an interstate or intrastate common carrier." This is a massive red flag, as it appears to be a deliberate loophole to dodge the state's mandatory cargo insurance and liability protections that legitimate movers are required to carry. Upon requesting that Doyle strike these clauses from their contract, they refused to do so, because they "do over 1,000 moves a year and send the same contract to every customer we service." Unfortunately, that contract contains illegal and predatory language.
