One of their many drivers had a nice smile, and was friendly and up-beat. I personally believe the company and its management are dishonest and bully non-moneyed vulnerable patients. Given a choice, I would take my business elsewhere. If I could give zero or negative stars, I would. I could not be safely transported without Pulse Medical Transportation or a competitor. I was in a wheel chair. I needed an escort with me from when I left long-term care to when I returned. Sinai Hospital and Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Hospital, a long-term care facility were in network with insurance. I should have been told at the time Pulse was not in network. Anyone who says I was told is not being truthful. I did not find out that Pulse was not in-network until months later. Levindale should have had a provider write a Letter of Medical Necessity. Case Management should have found an in-network transport company. They did not do that. Both used this out of network contactor. A woman from Patient Experience at Levindale told me that only one of my round-trip trips would not be covered. There were more that were not covered. I suspect she will deny that. She said insurance was not paying because it was unneccessarry. She said that it was not needed because I made the appointment myself. That provider pwas a gastroenterologist. Levindale messed up my G.I. care and they do not care. Who is that woman to make that determination? Levindale sent me to another provider that I saw because of a dangerously low count in a type of white blood cells called neutrophils. The low count was caused by an anabiotic Zosyn. Per my layman's research, chance of that low count was exacerbated by the Levindale team messing up my care with a request to administer Zosyn at a higher dose and shorter infusion time than first directed. Higher dose adds to the chance of low neutrophil count. Both sites have some really good physicians. Staff are not always order compliant. The Director of Nurses did not want her team to do the longer infusions because it was more work. Nurses in hospitals and doctors' offices are frequently, but not always heroes. Nurses in long term care can be a problem. Patients do not have enough choices for teams to behave this badly, then want transportation by private pay contractors to help fix. Levindale and and their Pulse contractors want me to pay over $200 each way just to go across the street from Levindale long term care to Sinai Hospital owened by the same organization as Levindale when I am seeing physicians at Sinai because Levindale messed up care. This is tantamount to operating on a patient, leaving the scalpel in him, then wanting to charge him to remove the scalpel. The difference is that they want me to "PRIVATE PAY". By the first time I had used Pulse's services, I would have met my out of pocket maximum from surgery at Sinai. It is very offensive to me as somebody who pays a lot of money for membership in a health insurance plan to have "PRIVATE PAY" written on my bills. Pulse called my mother without first talking to me. They did or should've had my contact information. There was no need for them to call my mother. I am 48 years old. My mother was listed as an emergency contact. My mother is old and frail. I have Medicare Advantage because I am disabled. I told Pulse's team that for them to contact my mother in my case when they had my contact information was a violation of HIPAA. I got an angry call from Zachary, who was in charge of compliance at Pulse. He said that billing was an exception to HIPAA. He also told me that he was told by my insurance company that the out-of-pocket maximum did not apply to him. It may not have applied to him because he was out of network. Patients in in-patient settings trying to heal should not be expected to check if every provider or contractor is in network. That is unreasonable. Frequently even when we do check the information we get is not accurate. I have been dealing with this issue for a month. Only recently was I told that Pulse was not in-network. Zachary also told me that I was bullying his staff by telling them that I was a paralegal and that I believe they were in violation of HIPAA. I will tell people if I believe they are violating HIPAA as it pertains to me. I can't do that for someone else because I'm only a paralegal, but I don't want to be told that I'm bullying people when they call my elderly mother about bills they should not have before I even see paper copies of those bills that offensively say, "PRIVATE PAY" I asked Zachary several times if he was an attorney or a paralegal. Zachary simply stated several times that he was in charge of compliance. Given a choice, I would never do business with Pulse.

Seems like they aren't prepared for taxi services. They have a rule that you must pay the cost before you go, but they use AI to send invoices. They mailed me a notice that had no invoice, no link to pay and no word on how much it costs. Sort of important things to know, doncha think? I called PT and they said they'd push my time back by an hour, and I so informed them of that. But 38 minutes after the first notice went out, I'm still waiting for an invoice telling me what I owe and how to pay it, These people may be great at the non-emergency Medical operation where you deal with appointments made far in advance. But as a taxi service, it's ridiculous. Complaining that it was short notice means to me you can't handle what you say you do. And any company who bills with AI is flirting with disaster. What would it cost them to have on-call drivers, or an actual human being doing the billing? More than these folks are willing to pay! It will be Uber next time despite the huge prices they charge. I wouldn't have had this run around with them!

Let me tell you, when we decided to book this bus to celebrate the birthdays of four of our family members, we were so excited waiting for the day to come. And when it came, it did not disappoint. It was lit! We have a friendly competition in our family to compete who has the best gift and let's just say, there was no competition. How you gonna beat a party bus?? We went to a fancy restaurant in DC, front door service, jamming all the way. Even my 67 year mom was jumping on the bus! Sound system sounded like Bose speakers. Driver drove impeccably so the drunk patrons standing and dancing did not fall. It was amazing. Trust me, you will not be sorry. I HIGHLY recommend this particular company as we did our research and you get what you pay for.
