Had multiple troubles cooing a steak on two different visits. The first visit, the manager came out and argued with me that a steak cooked medium, should still be bleeding on my plate. Then he actually brought me back the same steak after cooking it again. The calamari is very good, but the sauce leaves alot to be desired. My main concern would be cleanliness in the kitchen. You just don't put food that a customer has handled and cut, back onto a grill that is cooking other people's food. The head manager did a good jojoba of trying to fix the problem, but we went back a second time, and experienced similar problems, and still left with a $120 bill. read more

The menu here is nearly identical to Cheddar's, even the layout is almost identical. Just your standard American restaurant. Other than it's similarities to Cheddar's everything was great. Although I do believe our waiter was a bit toasted which led to a rather amusing dinner, no problems though. I did enjoy the $1 hush puppies. Although I feel like they should just come as a complimentary app than. I had the cedar plank salmon which had a nice crispy underside and a good marinade. Moderately priced. Very loud. I felt the wait was not really worth the food. My husband had ribs and chicken, he said the meat was dry. The food here is very, very good. I usually order the Santa Fe Fish Tacos but everything on the menu is good and at a great price. The only thing that keeps this place from a 5 star is the slow service. I'm not sure if the wait staff or the cooks are responsible but the service is much too slow. We stopped here based on the other reviews for FDs. It was fantastic. No wait. Food was great. And the service impeccable. I had the Honey BBQ ribs (fall off the bone) and chicken tenders... cooked great. A little Lite in the seasoning though. My kids had the fried shrimp off the kids meal. 6 large pieces cooked excellent. Very tasty. And my other kid had a steak. Sirloin med rare is really a warm red center. Nice job FDs. FD's is a great take on traditional american fare. I would compare it to Cheddars if you've ever been there. A lot of great unique items (I loved the firecracker shrimp!). The prices were great too, steak and shrimp for under 14 bucks! Definitely a great place to check out with the family. read more

We had heard about FDs but had never been here. It was very good, prompt and attentive service. Prices are excellent and servings are plentiful. Definitely a place we will come back to. Also you can bring your own bottle of wine, they will uncork and serve for a small fee. We didn't do dessert but my to go box has enough for two more servings! Great casual dining. read more

My wife and I love this place! The food is of excellent quality while the prices are some of the lowest in town...i.e. $12.00 for ribs!! And these are some of the best I have ever tasted. The catfish is off the hook. One of my favorite is the quinoa salad. Oh and save room for desert...the key lime pie is the best! read more

Let me tell you about my experience I had a few hours ago. My family and I had stopped in for what I thought was going to be a nice lunch, They had ordered catfish and I had ordered the 10oz sirloin steak and asked that it be cooked medium, when the food came out, I cut into my steak to find that it was cooked well done (no pink). I told the polite waitress this and she apologized and said she'd let them know, then after a few min she said the manager would take care of it. Well after about 15-20 more minutes of waiting, she brought out my new platter of steak and fries (which were not seasoned this time, hmmm) and asked that I cut into the steak to ensure proper doneness, so I did and it looked medium but upon cutting it, it was definitely tough to cut through. So after I take bite of my barely room temperature steak, it was chewy as all get out meaning they took an ice cold steak and tried to grill it fast, well that results in a horribly chewy, rubbery steak. When she came back she seen that I hadn't eaten but one bite and asked if I wanted a to-go box, I told her i'm sorry I can't eat this, and she said she'd take it off the ticket. So I left disappointed and hungry, and not once did the "manager" ever come out to personally apologize, because i'm sure he said just make him a cold one fast and don't bother seasoning the fries either. Well guess what, because of your arrogance you just cost yourselves two platters of food and that's on you pal. Not going back being treated like that. A shame too because I used to praise this place, but alas not anymore. read more

This is one of our favorite places in Springfield. We initially went for the "best burger in town" as acclaimed by a friend who knows. My husband had their signature burger and loved it. I had the Fish and Chips and was hooked! (haha!) It is so unbelievably good! The batter is perfectly crispy and light (not greasy at all). Now that we go frequently, my husband loves the lemon pepper chicken salad - low cal and really yummy. I can hardly order anything other than the Fish and Chips. The prices are GREAT! It is a really nice place with low prices. One more thing...the homemade Key Lime pie is to-die-for! It is almost impossible to have room for it once you're done eating, but they will gladly box it up for you to take it to go! Do it!! read more

Although this was our 4th attempt to visit this restaurant but our first time to actually get in, we discovered why it's always so packed. FD's had a nice variety on its menu without having too many choices including seafood. The prices were very reasonable even though the atmosphere felt quite upscale. Great service and relatively fast considering being packed even at 5pm. Definitely worth going back although the crowds and wait times for a table can be a strong deterrent. read more

Our first experience there was great! So much so, that I decided to take some clients that were in town there for dinner and drinks. That is when it all went south. First off, we were not able to transfer our tab from the bar to our table when we were seated. The bartender seemed put-off that we would even ask that. Second, they sat us at a table that would barely have set 4, even though our reservation was for 6. Ultimately we only had 5 people, but that was way too many for the table in which they originally sat us. We requested to be moved to another table and we were told no, that the party they were going to sit there had 7 guests (not too mention we waited for 30 minutes and this group had just walked in. There was no reservation as I overheard the hostess ask if they had one and they replied, "No.") Then the manager had the audacity to tell me I only made a reservation for 5. I pointed out that it was most certainly for 6, and that he could check the reservation book. He all but called me a liar. I wanted to ensure that the hostess put down the correct information, and there it was "6" plain as day in the reservation book. The party of "7" was in fact only a party of 5. The worst part of it all is that the guy who introduced himself as the owner on our first outing there stood by, and did nothing as this all transpired. I will not eat there again, and I highly encourage anyone bringing clients in town to not eat there either! read more

Awesome environment, and seriously amazing prices! The atmosphere here is great! Went here for date night with boyfriend and had cheddar broccoli soup and hush puppies (which are ONLY $1!) and drinks. Staff are great and helpful. Doesn't feel like you are just another customer pushed in and out of a restaurant. Easy to relax and enjoy your meal. Look around the place and see that everyone there is laughing and having a good time. Will be returning! read more
