Great food, service and atmosphere. Went in with family and everyone enjoyed their meal. We started with the onion ring app and they may be the best onion rings around. I had the chicken parm and it was great. Served with side of pasta and was more than enough food for two people. My wife and daughter got the filet and they were cooked exact as ordered and served with a baked potato or fresh broccoli. My younger daughter got the crab meat au gratin and it was also wonderful. For dessert we tried the bread pudding and cheesecake. They were both extra large pieces of dessert and tasted great!! If you are in the area don't pass this place up! read more

Very good restaurant like the kind I grew up on in New Orleans. Authentic New Orleans Italian, as a previous poster said. . It has been a few years since we have been here. We usually dine out on Sundays, and they are closed then. Our entrees tasted fantastic. The maitre d, waitress and bus staff were on the ball with orders, refilling drinks, cleaning up plates and spills, etc. However, they were not over-attentive - just right. Two minor complaints: I got the grilled,skewered shrimp, which were supposed to be 12 jumbo shrimp. I thought they were more like medium-plus size, but it was still enough to fill me up (a lighter appetite female). The other thing was that the bread was hard and crusty, inside and out. We stumbled upon Fazzio's Restaurant accidentally yesterday and were pleasantly surprised. Someone at the Mandeville Tuesday Morning told me the food at Fazzio's Restaurant is delicious. They were right. Not only were the food and prices reasonable, the service was exceptional. I had spaghetti and meatballs. My mother had an Italian salad with creamy Italian dressing which was delicious. Ronna, our waitress, was friendly and knowledgeable to the menu. I will be coming back to try the Fish Royal with crab and Lasagna (not at the same time), in the very near future. read more

Yummmm mm! Everything we ordered was delicious. No left overs and wiped the plated clean with the ficachia bread. We ordered the Veal Parmigiano, Veal Picatta and the Veal Marsalis. All was very good. Our server was very nice and prompt. The only reason why I gave them 4 stars is because while at an Italian resteraunt we had music that belonged at Al Abasha resteraunt. I've seen other reviewers comment on this, so it seems like waiting over an hour for your food is a standard occurrence here. An hour went by quickly in good company, but under different circumstances I would have found it unacceptable. The food was a bit too rich/greasy for me, but I'm mostly a salad eater, so I may not be the best reference when it comes to Italian food drenched in butter and cheese. The rest of my party really enjoyed it, it just wasn't for me. The salad was pretty good, by the way, but then again, in my mind it takes a lot to screw up a salad. read more

Although we have not previously been disappointed, last night was a bust. Our guest and I ordered a special which was a tuna steak smothered in crab meat and white cream sauce. When delivered to the table, it was rancid. Both our guest and I recognized it immediately. The waitress said crab smelled a bit. I had to remind her that crab should NEVER smell like decaying fish. Another patron, two tables away, volunteered that she smelled the dishes as the waitress passed her. She took our order for a different dish and promised it would be prepared quickly. It took 45 minutes for a ribeye to be presented. My wife had completely finished her dinner by that time. The manager, or owner, never came to the table. I just hope they did not try to serve that dish to anyone else. Unfortunately, with this lack of care on so many levels, we will have to eat elsewhere in the future. read more

My mother and I love to come here. Food is usually really good, service is kinda slow. Whenever they have the crawfish corn soup , we each get a cup, bc it is so good, we refuse to share. THe crabcakes are very tasty. Also the stuffed shrimp with pasta and a cream crab sauce. They usually have specials and those are also very good. Always, have a hard time trying to decide what to order. Dessert isnt so bad either, especially the turtle cheesecake. read more

We've been going to Fazzios for many years and were disappointed with our most recent visit on Wednesday (June15th) for a late lunch. Usually, customers are served their rosemary bread automatically. We had to ask for ours and it was stale, reheated, hard on the outside. The salads were pretty sad: cukes showed their age spots (something a waitress would notice) and the lettuce was limp. Potato salad was pretty sad when comparing it with previous visits. Another favorite restaurant of ours sucks. It's sad. read more

I visited Fazzio's at around 2:00 in the afternoon. There were only a couple other tables there at the time so our service was great. I had the chicken parmigiana and a beer. The chicken parmigiana came with a side of angel hair pasta also covered with marinara and everything was pretty dang delish. However, the beer came in a huge heavy margarita glass that would slide out of your hand if you weren't careful. I would have preferred a regular glass. That's my only complaint though. First time I went here I had a fairly young waiter who said, "Thank you for coming here I usually don't get anyone much younger than what you see." I looked around and he was right, the place and built in crowd made the place seem like a yacht club at the local marina. I'm in my mid 20s and this is the problem. I've always thought of this place as being too expensive. However, if you feel the same you should go. The food was such a surprise and everything was as a restaurant should be. Wonderful and polite. This is my usual go to restaurant for my birthday dinner every year. When I called to make reservations, I was told they were only taking reservations for parties of 8 or more, but that they haven't had any issues seating people. We were a party of 4. Upon arrival I was told it would be about 10-15 minutes for a table. No big deal, except that a couple of other small parties arrived right after us that seemed to be regulars and knew the owner ....they were seated before us. We were seated within the time frame quoted. We ordered appetizers and drinks which came out promptly. All four of us ordered the soup or gumbo , which is an up charge. That came out right as we finished our appetizers. The entrees however took quite awhile to come out. The waiter blamed it on an abundance of to go orders. So after waiting about 20 minutes, the entrees arrive. Two of the dishes were the same...chicken royale. One clearly had a lot less sauce than the other. When we asked the waiter if we could get a little more sauce as there was hardly any...he seemed angry, said it would cost $6 more!! We didn't feel like we should have to pay for sauce that should have been on the plate in the first place. We weren't asking for extra, just what we should have received. And his demeanor did not help. While the food is very tasty , this particular experience was not good. read more

My number one request for my birthday/ New Year's Eve was steak. My boyfriend and I made a reservation here after hearing some good things about it, and all was true. We loved it here! For an appetizer, we got the shrimp appetizer with Fazzio's special sauce. I thought it would be a pepper jelly due to descriptions, but it's much creamier than a pepper jelly and has a unique flavor. For our meals we both got steak. I got a filet and he got a ribeye. Both were cooked perfectly and so tasty! I also got the crab and Brie soup which was probably my favorite thing I ate there. It's a must for soup lovers! The only thing I found odd was that I asked for a Bordelaise sauce and they brought a butter and garlic sauce. I've been to France many times and have always known Bordelaise sauce (which originates from France and named after the Bordeaux region) as a brown sauce made from red wine. I called my waitress over and told her the mix up, but she insisted that Bordelaise sauce was indeed garlic and butter. I don't know if that's a southern thing or not, but I even googled it just to make sure I wasn't going crazy... and found out I'm not lol. We have been patrons of Fazzio's over the years, so we were prepared for the pricey menu and expected delicious food. Unfortunately, everything about our experience was horrible. We waited 35 minutes for our appetizer, which lacked all flavor except for a huge slathering of butter. Our entrees were brought out an hour after we ordered, yet they were cold and the meat was dangerously under-cooked. The Italian Sausage was even pale and grey in color, and the cheese in my lasagna wasn't melted (even after i sent it back to be reheated). The pasta sauce was as runny as water and the bread (that we had to request 3 times) was extremely stale. We complained about all of these things twice, but at no point did a manager come to speak to us, nor did we receive a refund, etc. If you are looking for quality Italian food and proper service pass Fazzio's by and never look back. We wasted our time and money. Taco Bell would have been better! read more

First of all our waitress had to be the worst one on earth. Angela was her name -she spilled crabmeat cream sauce all over my cell phone then stood there -not knowing what to do-my husband had to tell her to go wash her hands. Then she charged me $6 for the crabmeat cream sauce she spilled on me and I didn't even ask for. She asked us if we wanted salad or soup with our entree(never said there was an up charge) and charged is $3 for soup (which should have been included) and $2 for salad. It took her 18 min to enter our order and another 15 to get us drinks. When we questioned the $6 charge for crabmeat cream sauce she came back and said we took it off the bill-when I looked they just changed the crabmeat cream and wrote green beans and still charged $6!! My husband was so furious at this point he said just run our cc so we can leave. I wanted to leave her NO tip but she stood there watching me sign the bill so I left her $5 on a $128 bill. After going to Fazzio's for 15 years and then moving away and coming back I was super disappointed to say the least-and to boot the food we got was disgusting and I was physically sick afterwards. We got to the restaurant at 6:30 pm and when we still had not been served our food by 8:30 pm, I approached the owner at his table where he was eating with a group of people who had arrived after us, he went into the kitchen. We've going to Fazzios for years and needless to say always enjoyed it. Last night was New Years Eve and 10 of us went for dinner as we do every year. They have a limited menu which in my opinion wasn't very good but more importantly neither was my food. The crab claw appetizer tasted fishy and too much garlic. My catfish Amandine was alright but it came with pasta olio which was floating in oil. We had a friend that needed to send his steak back because it was so overcooked and tough. This is a person that eats leather. The only thing worse than the food was our server Natasha. She was curt and rude and disappeared for periods of time. She also got the checks wrong which took 40 minutes to correct. My husband wrote the above and I want to add my insights. I absolutely love Fazzios. It is always our special girls night out... and always great. This was a disaster from the beginning. Our waitress Natasha didn't get it or us. She was abrupt, impatient, curt and disappeared many times. My husband wanted your delicious Osso Buco with a side of red pasta. He was told no even though the menu clearly stated the red pasta was a side. He was so flustered by her answer he switched to the trout bc it had pasta. Terrible decision. That's him, but let let's get to me. She asked me to repeat my salad dressing choice twice and still forgot my salad. And when I inquired about my salad she said I didn't order one. I eventually got a salad when everyone was finished with theirs. Same as our friend who sent the steak back. Never ever does this and Natasha's was NOT HAPPY ABOUT IT. In fact the quote was"you've got to be kidding!" When he wasn't, she took her sweet time getting him another... I don't know if there is an expedition station but there should be, especially with a shaky waitress. Overall a very poor experience! Has us diligently searching elsewhere for a big inlaws/ outlaws dinner pre wedding dinner. No way can we take a Natasha chance. I'll leave the Italian accolades to others. I want to emphasize their excellent seafood, particularly the CATFISH. Only a few restaurants invest the time and knowledge in preparing this light, inexpensive fish. I've no need to drive to Manchac anymore; catfish lover's know what I mean. Also, you won't leave the hushpuppies on the plate. Imagine a little ball of cornbread with a thin fried shell, an all too rare treat. Just went here tonight. Great food and service. More than I would expect from a medium priced restaurant. Location on the apron of an older strip mall would not suggest it either but I should not complain as good as the food was. The hot bread was not the usual New Orleans french but was interesting none the less. Best crabmeat au gratin that I have had in many years. Too much for two to eat as an appetizer. I had the Filet Fazzio, a filet in a smoky flavor cream sauce with shrimp, mushrooms and black olives on top. Fazzio's Restaurant..........NEVER again. This must be why there are only two other reviews since 2013. Short story: Service - slow Food - really bad Manager - unprofessional and uncaring Summary - stay away Long story: Our party of 6 arrived around 7:00 and although seated immediately, we were promptly disappointed with the slow service thereafter. The drinks took a long time to arrive and we had to ask multiple times for bread. The Soup Du Jour which was a Southwest corn chowder with crab and crawfish was actually good, but it took at least 20 minutes to arrive and the dinner salads took almost 30. Our party was not in a big hurry, but when 3 or 4 tables arrived well after us and received their appetizers and salads and we had not.....well, that's a problem. When the main course finally arrived, the disappointment continued. Out of 6 meals, only two were passable enough for the recipients to enjoy. The lasagna and Jimbob shrimp dishes were o.k.....not great, but passable. Both veal dishes were left uneaten as the veal was flavorless, the texture was off and the food was way too oily. The seafood platter with fried catfish, shrimp and baked potato was another miss. The shrimp was o.k.; however, the catfish was undercooked and mushy and the baked potato was apparently a left over. The reheating of the potato resulted in a hard mess that couldn't be mashed with a fork and the failed attempt to cover this up with a blob of burnt cheese melted on top was amateur at best. The other meal was a shrimp and pasta dish which was again too oily and flavorless, so the shrimp were picked out in an effort to salvage some part of the meal. When we notified the server of our dissatisfaction, she apologized along with a few excuses, but promptly advised she would send the Manager over. She then returns without the manager and informs us the manager will not see us but will offer us a 25% discount or free dessert. In my opinion, this was the pinnacle of unprofessionalism for a restaurant manager to be that cowardice and uncaring about their patron's experience. Save your time and money and stay away from this place. There is plenty of excellent food, service and management offered by other establishments in the area. . read more

I like this place, but I was very disappointed with my food on my last visit. I got the Italian salad. It had a minuscule amount of salami, anchovies, and cheese. I thought if I was paying $15 for a salad, then at least they would give you more than 1 and a half anchovies and a few tiny bites of salami and cheese with an enormous amount of lettuce. I went to fazzios for the first time for my husbands birthday. The food took forever since it was a Friday night. The only thing that made our experience awesome was our server Natasha, she was kind, attentive and very polite. Offered us bread since the food was taking so long. She felt very personal and almost like a friend. I will definitely be coming back not just for the food but for our server. She was beautiful, vibrant and fast paced. Our drinks were never empty and after food was delivered she checked on us 3 or 4 times to make sure we were ok. Can't remember last time I had such great service. If you go to fazzios ask for Natasha and lay back and relax. You will have an awesome experience not only with food but specially with her service. read more
