Quaint and unassuming location! I thought I was at the wrong place for about five minutes before I realized it is hidden behind a coffee shop. Make sure to book reservations before coming as it is not a huge space and you may be stuck at the bar seats which are very small. That being said, we did have reservations and were sat at high tables. I would've preferred actual seats but those were reserved for larger parties. Inside the decor was beautiful with open bar and open kitchen. Great lighting. We were a group of four and ordered a lot of dishes to share: - Ceviche: Strong start. Very nice, sweet but tart sauce. The fish was very fresh, I loved it! 9/10 - Thai Beef Tartare: Unfortunately this was so spicy. I should've known since it was Thai beef but I still didn't expect them to be so heavy-handed on the birds eye chilis. Luckily, I love spicy food so I finished most of this... but I can't say for the rest of my party that they survived. It was delicious but the spice just overpowered everything. 6/10 - Calamari and Coconut Rice Salad: We ordered this but was not sure what it would look like. Lots of sprouts and some gooseberries. The calamari is not fried, just cooked squid. It was alright but not for everyone. 7/10 - Cha Siu Short Rib: YUM. This was the star of the show for sure! Portion was pretty good for sharing, the meat was tender and juicy. It had some nappa cabbage, dill, and mint leaves on the side to make a wrap if you choose to do so. 8/10 - Coconut Braised Smoked Chicken Curry: This was alright. There was eggplant and corn and some lychee which I found a little unconventional, but perhaps this is what is traditionally in this curry. The chicken however was just poached/smoked with no char. I'm not sure how I feel about it. The curry however, was fantastic. 7/10 - Black Cod Sour Curry: This was another amazing dish. I loved how soft the fish was and the sour curry brought out the best of the fish flavour. I wish the portion size was a little bigger. 8/10 - Charred Veggies: Disappointing to see it was just ~4 pieces of broccolini. 5/10 We also got some cocktails to share, overall they were pretty good but nothing to write home about. I would give this 4 stars in terms of taste and service, but I am putting it at 3 stars for my overall rating because the prices of the dishes are a little bit steep compared to portion size. The menu on the website doesn't have prices on it so be prepared. It's a great restaurant for upscale Thai food, but now that I've tried it I don't think I need a second visit!

Thai favorites is a cute little fusion restaurant nestled on buzzy Ossington street. I loved the concept of the restaurant with an open, airy, layout. Just note that you enter through a coffee shop, which gave it a hint of a speakeasy feel. I'd suggest making a reservation because it's a popular spot, but myself and a couple were able to walk in with no wait and no problems. I opted for a cocktail. Can't remember what it was called but it was made with pandan and it was creamy, dreamy, perfection. I also had the lamb chops which were balanced well between sweet and savory notes. The menu focused on shareable plates and though they recommended 2-3 dishes for me, I was happy and filled with just the one.

Firstly, it's quite tough to find this place as you have to go through a coffee shop under a different name (there is a side entrance but we didn't find it until we were exiting). Ambiance inside is incredibly cozy- we were a group of 5 all the way in the back of the restaurant. Service was quite attentive but on a few occasions we had to proactively ask for water, wish they just replenished it on their own. However, the food is one of the best I've had in Toronto! We did the tasting menu for $80 (not cheap for the amount of food that came) but the combination of flavors and rich, expensive ingredients made it worth it. Yellowtail hamachi appetizer was one of the highlights, as well as all protein mains. Definitely not a place for vegetarians, but if you like exotic Thai flavors with new ways of cooking eating them I couldn't recommend this place well enough!

Been here a couple of times anow and it offers a great different slant towards thai cusine as they offer a bit more of a fine dining element doing a bit of fusion and they have an emphasis on my two favourite proteins duck and lamb which does not hurt Stand out dishes are the duck sausage which is one of the best sausages I've ever eaten. Super juicy, fatty, and flavourfull Lamb chops were also A+ perfectly cooked, super juicy with a ton of flavour Negatives can be it is super dark

Many people have been telling me that Favorites Thai is their top restaurant recommendation in Toronto, and I have to agree! Attentive staff, a beautiful interior (though with tight seating options), 2 hours of delicious dining. We tried the Tasting Menu and were blown away by the bold flavours. I was surprised by the use of Beyond Meat in the sauce that went with a few of the apps, but it went great with the Beef Tartar. The meat was excellent, specifically the Grilled Pork chops, variety of Sausages, and Sea Food Salads. We also got the wine pairings, which paired well with some sweeter notes to complement spicier dishes. I will be returning!

My new favourite restaurant in Toronto with really unique and interesting Thai fusion. There are lots of options for a pescatarian diet and the restaurant uses imitation mean (impossible meat) for a couple of dishes. Sticky rice spring rolls: 9/10 I usually do not enjoy imitation meat but they did a great job masking the taste and was well seasoned. The spicy dip made the dish and was such a nice blend with the sticky rice. Vegetarian curry: Curry was delicious although I wish they gave us more to mix in with our rice. The mushrooms were a substitute for duck and for a $35 dish, I wish there were more variety of veggies given. Oysters: The sauce used on these oysters were bomb. Flavour explosion dish here. Thai tea-ramisu: Super creamy and delicious. Do not skip dessert! Thai favourites also half price wine on Wednesdays

Make sure to book reservations because it does get rather busy. The place in itself is quite smaller and their cooking place is also their dining hall, so expect there to be smoke and quite loud. Or maybe just the day we went. Either way, prepare. The food is shareables and it's more cost effective that way if you want to try multiple items. Portion sizes are a little on the smaller side. We were 4 and ordered: House Sausage: I didn't eat this since I don't eat pork but my friends said it had a kick which they liked. Oysters: an order comes with 3. It has a bite to it that's very nice. Tastes sorta like baby shrimps. Fried wings: these were rather subpar at least. They felt very generic. Even with the sauce. Wangu steak: quite nice cut of meat. You'll need the lime as by itself it's no flavour. You have to eat it with the cabbage and sauce like an appetizer. Sea bream: it's was nice but quite sweet. It was disappointing to see that it still had bones and it's 1/4 of the actual fish instead of at least a 1/2. Especially for the $48 tag. Not a place I'd venture to again but at least I can cross it off the list.

This is my new favourite Thai place in Toronto - no pun intended. Nestled at the back of a coffee shop, Favorites puts a modern twist on Thai cuisine. I tried the calamari salad which was forgettable though still inventive with ingredients like calamansi. The sea bream and chicken curries were standouts, with the latter being one of the most flavourful curry dishes I've ever had! The broth was rich and delicious, and the chicken was moist and smoky, in a good way. Can't wait to try more dishes here!

It's a bit hard to find. Go to Sam James coffee shop and then walk all the way to the back to find the actual restaurant. It's a cute quaint space and they have a clothes rack to hang your jacket. I loved everything that I got. We started off with the oysters which had some sort of Thai sauce that gave it an interesting twist. You must get the chicken wings, they were delicious and crispy perfection. I also loved their pad Thai which was a large portion that's great for sharing. I found it to be less sweet than typical pad Thai (like compared to Pai) which was a nice change because Thai food can get sweet sometimes. The fish sauce they used had a really good umami. I thought the Thai milk tea tiramisu was average - nothing mind blowing. They do have a couple items with ground pork and I overheard the waiter saying they can switch that out for impossible pork if you don't eat pork. I thought that was a great option to have!

Not the usual thai menu. This place is great with some vegan options. The spring rolls comes crispy and warm. Couldn't tell impossible meat was used. The curry is so flavourful with perfect amount of spicy. It's hidden behind a coffee shop , got a great speakeasy vibe.

This is by far my favourite restaurant in Toronto!! The vibe is so modern and cool with the interior, but still so lively! It's hidden in the back which can throw you off when you fort arrive, but the staff are very welcoming!! I would highly recommend getting the beef tartare and the duck curry - the meat quality here is just top tier are really elevates both dishes!!

The food was very flavorful and well proportioned. We did a chefs tasting menu for a group of five people, and we were completely stuffed by the end of the meal. The food that I thought was most unique that you can find anywhere else was the sweet and savory, veggie rice, paper dip, and the calamari salad with herbs. All the food was quite refreshing and nothing was too overly creamy or heavy. only downside is the seating is not very comfortable. We were sitting on a stool for over two hours. Prices are reasonable in relation to the portions and types of food served

Scrumdidilyumpacious. I felt like I was in some kind of elite club walking to the back through the coffee shop. This tasting menu was amazing. So much food. The best SALAD of my life. Spicy shrimp salad? Yes please. Everything was amazing and totally worth the price. Would reccomend!!!

The service was quick, as it took about 10 minutes to prepare the bowl. I enjoyed the Pacific Crunch; it was very tasty and the ingredients complimented each other well. However, I am giving Mandy's 3 stars as I was very disappointed with the portion size, especially considering the price. My bowl was only 2/3 full, when compared to the bowl purchased by my friend. For the price, I would expect the bowl to be completely full, with more than 4 shrimp.

I've actually had Brasa previously many years ago for a Yelp event but this time I decided to stop by the Queen St. location to grab dinner. Upon arriving at Brasa, the space is accessible where the cashier/food counter area is to your right. On the left there is bar seating where you could enjoy your items there. I mentioned to staff that I was there to pick up my food where it was already made. In terms of food, I ordered the tuna ceviche bowl (Organic tricolour Peruvian quinoa, marinated tuna, avocado and sweet potato blossoms, two types of Peruvian corn, finely sliced red onion) which cost around $17. I had the bowl for dinner and it felt super healthy with the quinoa, avocado, and tuna! The ingredients tasted great together and the crunchy corn added a crunchy textural element to the bowl.
