The first time we stopped was 8 days ago. We ordered grilled cheese and coleslaw. It was really good. It was so good we stopped back on our way home to Ohio today. It was really bad. We're regulars here and usually happy when we leave. I don't know what was going on today! We waited 45 minutes almost for food. I got a hot brown and it's the worst I had anywhere! One strip of bacon that looked like it had sat around for a week and the meat was cut up in cubes! I only ate about half of it. We were passing by the small town of Georgetown and wanted to eat at a local diner.. this place was perfect. I had the Kentucky Hot Brown: Texas toast topped with sliced ham, sliced turkey and then covered with homemade cheese gravy, made fresh every morning, topped with bacon and tomato and baked in a oven to golden brown. Served with a house salad or cole slaw. Sure it was heavy but when in Kentucky.. you gotta have some of this! I had no problem finishing the dish - it was delicious. Sat down with my father-in-law 10am for breakfast. The waitress finally took our order at 10:15am. 10:45am we were told they lost our ticket and reordered our meal. 11am and still no breakfast and not even offered an apology for the long wait. 11:06 we finally got our breakfa. Gave them a 1 star because they brought me my drink however never bothered to check to see if I wanted a refill. I would give them a negative 5 if it was available. If anyone actually reads these reviews, if you are from out of town stay away from this restaurant. You will wait for over an hour for your food and the customer service is pretty poor. read more

I've eaten at this place at least 50 times, the last 2-3 times you can tell the place has went down hill. Prices have went up, service has went down. The food is mostly frozen that is heated up when you order. Today I went there and while I was there I did a review on Facebook. My review was not good and when they seen the review on Facebook they immediately quit serving us. When we were leaving, the manager followed us outside and ask us to not come back if we were going to leave bad reviews. I attempted to explain why my review said what it did. The manager immediately started cussing me and said that I had been treating the waitress like shit and I had been staring at them lol 100% not true, I was very respectful to the staff. The manager then told me that I treat my fiancé like shit and that I was a piece of shit myself. lol this man does not know me at all. So slow in fact, that our grandmother commented if they were "butchering a hog back there". I stopped by Fava's on a weekday afternoon. It was packed! But, it didn't look like a business lunch crowd - lots of parents and children. The waitress came quickly with a menu which had a nice selection. I ordered the catfish sandwich and fries. It was quite a long wait for the food, but it was soooo good. The fish was perfectly battered and cooked with a juicy red tomato and crisp lettuce on the bun. The fries were also fresh and delicious. I decided to get the pie because it was advertised as being homemade. The strawberry pie tasted like they had my mom back in the kitchen. If I'm in hurry, I might not go there. I am honestly impressed by the burger I had. Better burger than supposed award winning burgers. Well seasoned patty cooked thoroughly dripping in juices not grease. Nice crust cooked on the patty which has a satisfying texture leaving you wanting more. After reading reviews on Yelp, I was left disappointed in Fava's. My husband and I both had burgers (patty melt and Tiger burger, I think was the name) and they were both mediocre. We had the Fava chips which were good but would've been better if they were served with some type of dipping sauce. They didn't have any pie left that I wanted so maybe my option would be been swayed had I tasted one. My husband stated it perfectly when he said this food was nothing special. This is my favorite place to eat when I'm in Georgetown visiting family. This place has an old fashioned diner feel and the staff here are very friendly. The restaurant has been in their current location for at least 100 years from what I understand. The catfish poboy is delicious, crispy, flavorful, and fresh. My mom always says that the hamburger she gets tastes like her grandmother's and is high quality. I come from a family who knows how to cook so that is a compliment to take to the bank. Fava's has been around Georgetown for as long as I can remember and while I have memories of last eating there when I was about six, we recently introduced my husband to this iconic restaurant! This is southern food at its best (with lots of grease) and I enjoyed fried pickles and some sweet tea with my grilled cheese. While it can get quite noisy, it's good food at a good price. I had the catfish supper, my wife enjoyed the Shrimp Po' Boy, and my son had a HUGE hamburger. This is an older restaurant in downtown Georgetown. Has been there since the early 1900s. Nice old time feel to the place. Food is good and reasonably priced. My favorite is the Philly Cheesesteak omlet with hashbrowns. Just the right amount of egg, meat and cheese! Wait staff is friendly and accommodating. We were on our way home from Lexington and our favorite place there, Doodle's, was hopping a little too much. This was on the way and the reviews were good so.... First, let me say we ended up paying nothing, which was the only right thing to do as we ate very little. We had read everything was homemade, so that's good, right? I'm not sure about that, as all that could really be made there were the biscuits and gravy. Those didn't seem homemade. It took probably a good 30 minutes to get our food. It was all stone cold, except for the biscuits. When we let our server know (we both ordered our eggs over easy) he said he would heat it up for us. YOU DON'T HEAT UP OVER EASY EGGS. We let him take our plates, thinking the potatoes would get reheated and the eggs would be remade. Silly us. He literally microwaved our plates and the eggs were then a half step above stone cold. When I decided to try to eat them anyway, I saw that the whites weren't completely cooked and I was done. The hash browns were greasy, but at least edible, the home fries and bacon were deep fried which didn't make either taste better. When the server finally decided that maybe the eggs should be replaced with freshly cooked ones, we passed because we needed to get on the road. Then he asked if we wanted our eggs to go. Seriously.
