The tea options are spectacular. I've been ordering from multiple tea companies from across the country during COVID. To have a WI company in the mix is great. For them to have the best variety and creative teas is even better. Also, the ability to order in any ounce or pound gives me options to sample multiple teas to find my favorites. This is a relatively new store for Fava. If you haven't been to one of their locations before let's talk about what they are. Do you drink tea? If yes good! This place has a huge variety of teas available. The walls are properly and neatly organized. The white teas are here, then Green, Oolong, etc. There are a variety in each category. I spent some time looking and didn't do an exact count. My estimate is 20-30 teas in each category. They typically have one sample for each kind brewed as well for you to try. Perhaps you have trouble deciding though. They have tins for each available that you can do a sniff test from. Get an idea of the aroma and you get an idea of flavor. Still can't decide? Have them brew you a cup. I think it's $2? then enjoy it. There is a lot of good here. They have things you may expect to see. They have some Rishi to buy in stock. Wanna buy in bulk? No problem. You are picking what gets bagged. To me that's the best. Perhaps I don't want to commit to a certain amount that you may find in the store. Perhaps something is so good that I need quite more. The Chocolate Rooibos offerings are quite worth trying. Ok enough! Let's talk about the service. The customer service is 5 stars. The staff that I dealt with here is exceptionally friendly and down to earth. They are there to help. If it's your first time they will give you a run down on how the layout is and can guide you in the direction that you need. There were people here that were looking for a certain flavor that they didn't have but the staff was able to get them something that was comparable. It's a good interaction. I love Fava. This place truly is great. I've been drinking tea since I've been about 8 years old, so I'm happy to finally have a tea shop in Brookfield. Their tea is very good quality and the atmosphere in the store is fantastic. The staff is very friendly and knows just about everything there is to know about the tea business. The samples are delicious and you can get a cup to go for $1. Although Teavana is a bigger name, Fava in my opinion is so much better. Their whole philosophy behind tea is completely different. If you go to Teavana, you are expected to know what you want and are expected to purchase in large quantities. Fava emphasizes sampling and looking around for what you want. You even get free smells without a slap on the back of the wrist. I recommend Fava to all of my friends and is now one of my favorite places in Brookfield. read more

I decided to try Fava after having a bad experience at other tea stores. Fava is so laid back and they never try to pressure you into buying anything or rush you but are still very helpful. There are so many kinds of tea! There are always a few samples brewed around the store, but otherwise you can select tea by smelling little sample tins. They prefer to pull the big tins off the shelf themselves, though, so just tell the staff what you want and they will get everything for you. Since it's all loose tea, I recommend getting one of those cup diffuser things they have. It is so worth it! read more

I was in the Brookfield store on Friday and I have never been treated so badly and rudely an over 55 years of retail shopping. I unfortunately touched one of the cans only to be be rated and have my head bit off by one of the associates working in the store. I will never return to this location again and suggest others never to go to the Brookfield location again. The people in the Greenfield store are fantastic. read more

5 stars if Henry is helping you at the Bluemound Road location. I've been here one other time and there was a woman working who has just putting her hours in and wasn't helpful at all with tea suggestions or sampling. Not at all welcoming. Also -- She was very worked up about me trying to hand her a canister. I was buying about 12 types of tea and was trying to help her by giving her the canisters. They are locked and I made sure to be careful yet I got a lecture about having to buy the whole canister if I dropped it and tea fell out. Let's hope I can carry a locked canister two feet!! Anyway - I decided to give the place another try since my daughter loves tea. I was happy to see that the lady who helped me before was not in and Henry was amazing!! He has a knowledge of tea that is remarkable without snobbery. He was excellent. Kind to both of us and very knowledgeable. He wasn't pushy at all and it was a nice outing with my teenage daughter that was made that much better with a welcoming, kind and informative associate. Whatever they are paying Henry I guarantee it's not enough. I love teas and have been to many shops - he's the best!! Never before have I received knowledge about kettles, recipes, types of teas and stories about them from someone who is an avid tea drinker. Call ahead -- if Henry is working it will be a treat! Fava Teas are just about the most delicious teas you can buy! Their herbal teas are outstanding and very reasonably priced and so unusual. I love their turmeric and citrus blend, their minterest blend and rooibos teas. No matter which of their stores you go into they staff are unfailingly helpful, polite and knowledgeable. Love Fava. My friend bought me Favs tea years ago. That got me hooked. I prefer Fava over Teavana. Fava is locally owned. They have great tea samples throughout the store. Let me clarify: this is a great store and I would actually give it 5 stars! The reason it is only 3 stars is because I am comparing it to other tea companies I have visited, not an overall shopping experience. The selection is very good, there is a lot of variety: different families of teas - herbals, whites, greens, blacks, pu-erhs, etc; as well as a lot of variety when it comes to variations of flavoring and origins of tea. My criticism, as far as my personal tastes are concerned, is a lot of the flavored teas smell like the flavoring would overwhelm the taste of the tea itself. There is also a good variety of tea-ware, flavored sugar (if that's your thing) and some other goodies. The staff is usually friendly and obliging. Occasionally they get swamped and get a little short, but who doesn't when everyone wants your attention - having worked in retail, I totally understand, no big deal! There are smelling jars for every single tea that is available for purchase, which is great and is an absolute must! My one complaint about this tea company is that there is NO TASTING BAR! You CAN purchase a single cup of tea, but then I would have to go through a few dollars to find what I like before I bought it. A few other tea shops I have been to have a free tasting bar (usually with a reasonable limit of about 3 teas per visit, and you only get a few sips worth of course) - this way a customer can taste the tea and make sure it tastes as good as they expect. I WOULD RARELY COMMIT TO BUYING EVEN A SINGLE OUNCE OF TEA WITHOUT TASTING IT FIRST!! Yes, I am a tea snob, but I only buy what I really like, so occasionally I would taste 3 different teas (usually from the same region or with similar flavorings) before buying some. Never would shop there again! Husband went in and asked for a product which store does not carry they suggested something else. He said it was a birthday gift and he wasn't sure if I that was what I was looking for. He asked if he could return it. Sales clerk said yes, never saying all you can get is store credit when she knew they didn't have what he originally asked for. So when I went to return it and found out their policy I had the sales clerk talk to my husband on phone. She then returned phone to me after 4 minutes and never stated what transpired on phone and then waited on other customers without finishing with me. I discovered Fava when it first opened in Appleton. Any time I was in the area, I stopped for tea. When a competitor opened in the Madison area, I went there, hoping for the same kind of tea experience. It was not. I like that I can smell the tea myself at Fava. They have friendly, helpful staff and a huge variety. I go in needing only one tea and leave with several because I was able to take my time and smell the teas myself and there are so many good ones.. I now never go to the competitor even though there's one in town. When a Fava store opened in South Milwaukee, I was happy as I'm in Milwaukee a lot. The Brookfield store is even closer. I bought Jade Oolong tea. Twelve ($12.00) dollars for one ounce, including their cheapest shipping to Grafton WI. This has always been my favorite green tea. Who ever is the suppler for Fava Tea has offal teas. It had no flavor at all. The leaves were to large and included stems. I tried steeping it at double the recommended time and still zero flavor. I tried double the amount of tea leaves an again no flavor. Zero roasting. Roasting costs money. Fava Tea's are all hype an no quality. read more

Very rude staff. My wife is a huge tea drinker so sometimes when she was sick I would be sent over to get some tea for her and when I asked for help I was treated in a very condescending manner and as if I was an inconvenience. I was going to give Fava a poor review for being stuck-up snobs, however, my wife ended up taking a part-time job at the company so I bit my tongue and didn't say anything. About a month ago she parted ways with Fava due to some management issues and I decided to post a 1 star rating with no written review on their Facebook wall. Shortly after I get a private message from the co-owner complaining about how I'm bullying and harassing him with my poor rating and gave me a Bible verse stating, "Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord" He also informed me that he blocked me from Fava's wall. Giving a poor rating is hardly bullying and harassing. read more
