Love the tea and have come back numerous times from visiting out of town while seeing family however the customer service especially regarding children is lacking. They have a entry way bell that goes off when you enter of exit. Lady in the back has zero patience for something they installed and made it our problem that she had to keep coming out for being under the impression other people were entering while trying to keep kids away from store merchandise. Especially around the holidays... try to make her life more convenient so she won't bother you there for something they absolutely have control over. Fava Tea Company was a nice stop. It reminded me a bit of the vinegar and oil stores because there were at least half a dozen brewed teas to sample in little plastic cups throughout the store. Green, rooibos, black, white, chai, matcha powder and more were available as well as special holiday blends. The tins of loose tea were also a nice touch, as you could sniff them to your content to see which tea might suit you. I regret that I hadn't made it in sooner because I would have seriously considered one of the tea mugs with the steeping equipment inside for a gift for a friend of mine, alas I already had her gifts purchased for this year. The young lady working in the store was friendly but not obtrusive, and while I got two teas for others on my first visit, I'm looking forward to coming back to pick out something for myself. read more

The staff is very educated and knowledgeable about tea. The store is set up with each type of tea getting its own section.

I like this shop its filled with canisters of tea leaves and you can usually sample smell them to see what suits your needs. It has your accessory items for brewing and some matcha powder and bars as well as getting a hot or cold tea beverage to go. Friendly staff and upon entering you need a mask and employees have them on as well. I usually come in the fall or winter for the seasonal flavors I have not had a flavor yet I didn't enjoy . Fava Tea is a local-ish small chain - the business started in Appleton and they now have stores in Brookfield and Greenfield. It's a similar set up to Teavana in that there are big ol' canisters of loose tea lining the walls - you pick the type and amount you want with the aid of small tester containers and a good amount of brewed sample options. I drink a LOT of herbal tea (seriously, a LOT) and have been buying everything at Weeds in Cedarburg because most places don't stock much herbal. Well, Fava has a pretty good selection for sure - at least 40 varieties of true herbal stuff and probably an additional 25+ rooibos choices (don't like). If you like true tea, they have tons of black, white and green for you plus at least a dozen chai varieties. They've also got everything you need to brew the perfect cup - infuser mugs, teapots, sweeteners, etc. I found the service to be great - since it was my first visit, I got a quick rundown of how it works and then was left to sniff, taste and browse. Price points are middle of the road - cheaper than Teavana but more (not a huge amount) than Weeds or what I see online. Fava's a lot closer to home for me and they stock the majority of what I like so I definitely see myself returning. read more

If you told me 15 years ago I'd be buying leaves by the ounce at a store I'd give you a Keanu-esque "Whoa". Little would I know that I'd actually be buying tea leaves. I'm not ashamed to say my wife didn't drag me here, it was my idea and most of the time I'm in the area I stop in on my own accord, get a dollar cup of tea and marvel at the teapots. Now that that's out the way, I've always loved tea, from the time I was a kid and I sneaked a sip of my Grandma's daily cup of black tea and honey. All these years it's been a revolving door of black tea, green tea, iced tea and Arnold Palmer's. That is until I found out about this tea shop. Now I literally have about 25 different flavors of tea in my cupboard, and this is the place I get them from. This trip was strictly to get a cup of tea for my scratchy throat. My wife and I left with 2 cups, 4 oz. of Rooibos Root Beer and 2 oz. of Pure Iced Tea. I bought it with no idea on the best way to make iced tea out of leaves. I asked the woman at the counter and she was more than happy to provide me with literature on the 3 best ways to brew iced tea from leaves. Awesome. My only issue with this place is a lack of help. And that's no shot at the workers, they're happy and willing to help. The problem is the scheduling. I come in, I buy stuff, I should be in and out. But this time, like the last two times before, I come in, get some stuff, and then about 5 people walk through the door, and a worker has to go over, ask if they've been here before and what they need anything they should ask. In other words, management, please hire more people. I just wanted a cup of one of the tester teas, but it ran out and I had to wait a half an hour for the lady to brew it while her and her associate had to shuffle through about a dozen customers. One more person working and I would have been in and out. All in all, it's a great place for some great tea. If you don't believe me, pay $0.94 for a cup of one of the eight tester teas and try for yourself. read more

They're always willing and eager to help! We tend to spend a small fortune there, but the teas last a very long time if you keep them in the resealable bags in a cool, dry place. This is my new go-to stop for loose tea. I love that the store space is larger and better laid out than any Teavana I have been to. The strip mall it's located in has a vast parking lot and there is a large covered sidewalk if you want to mill around after stopping in. The staff are really cool and great at helping newcomers discover what teas will be a good fit and how to brew them properly. They are also happy to brew up a cup of whatever tea you'd like for a small fee. I think it's around two or three dollars for a fresh cup. I love that there are seasonal teas and a handy chart of the teas offered that you can take home. I use this to track what I like and don't like, and keep it in the tea basket in my pantry so it's handy when I next head to Fava. Do you need a new teapot or pretty mug? They have those! I visited Fava Tea Company a few weeks ago and wasn't all too impressed. They have quite a large selection of loose leaf teas; however, the prices (compared to online competitors) are certainly higher. I decided to purchase some loose leaf green tea and was disappointed after making some at home. The tea was quite weak in flavor, even after brewing it for more than the recommended time. The biggest letdown was their setup for making you a cup to go. They only offer to make their teas hot. I would have liked to see more of a selection of iced teas, tea lattes, and even just the option of adding milk to hot tea, which is a necessity for ordering black tea. I hope they expand there teas "to go" selection, as what they currently offer is not very good for summer months. read more

I went to Fava Tea Company today for the first time ever. I was nervous because I wanted to start drinking more tea, and cut out soda, but I had no clue where to even start. I walked in to the store knowing next to nothing about tea. My sister and dad get all of their tea from Fava Tea, so I figured this was the place to start. The saleswoman who helped me, Kate, was nothing short of phenomenal. She was patient, walked me through the entire store and explained the different types of tea to me. She also gave me recommendations based on my preferences, and was knowledgeable and SO helpful. I'm breastfeeding, so some herbs are not recommended, and she kept an eye out for those in the teas that I had selected. Another saleswoman also helped me, and while I didn't catch her name, she was just as sweet and gave me even more recommendations. I ended up buying several types of tea to try, as well as a couple types of rock sugar (per Kate's advice!) and left feeling great about my purchases. I was given such great care while in their store, and nothing but honest recommendations. I highly recommend this store to anyone who loves tea and awesome customer service! read more

YAY!... a tea shop! So happy to see this not too far from my house... I confirmed the tea is local, most is from Rishi! Yay. The -1 star... staff. Boo. I know my husband and I are tea conneseurs but can they try? Please. I generally trust people but have been burned too many times here by filling out my form paying my $40 and getting home to see that's not the tea I'm looking for.... like I know I selected a variety under white tea and get home to have jasmine, that bad!! I do love the $1 cup of tea from the tea sample selections. Some days they will get the tea for you... others they will put a cup down and disappear leaving you to wander the store since the daily selection signage doesn't really explain what type of tea it is. So we still go for great quality tea but brace ourselves for the lack of service and still leave happy to know we have a great tea selection not too far from home! read more

I usually get my tea near a place I stay and work. When I walked into Fava Tea I was welcomed and given a quick tour, and just about felt like I was at home with the friendly staff. The selection is excellent, and you can get an idea of each tea by not only opening up smaller canisters to take a wiff and look at the leaves, they also had a nice amount of premade samples. Today I walked off with only two flavors, 1 OZ each. However I'm sure I will be returning soon for a few more ounces of one of there greens I picked up, and exploring the rest of there selection. read more

I was given a travel mug for mother's day. The mug requires you to remove the lid to drink so I spilled the tea on me. I hated the design and wanted to return it 1 week later. Fava does not allow returns if you use the item. But how was I to know how awful the design was without trying it? I wa so angry that I stopped shopping there. Because they did not refund $29 they lost several hundred dollars of my business and my friends. I finally purchased a much better tea travel mug from another competitor that does refund used items. I strongly recommend the store update their policy because everyone refunds 1 time use products. read more

Another reviewer wrote "more expensive than online". Yes everything is cheaper online. If you want personal service that is cheaper than the retail competition with a large selection this is the place to go. An example of why I've switch to them as a primary outlet for my loose leave tea purchases is I haven't spent much money yet but will spend more for the following reason. If you are looking for good, quality tea, this is the place for you (without the pretentiousness you may encounter elsewhere). This is not your average cup o' Lipton -- this is real, loose tea, categorized, organized, and sold by the ounce. No, it's not cheap. But it's amazing how many cups of tea you can get out of a one-ounce bag. Prefer tea in bags? They sell loose bags there, and you can make your own. Need a teapot or infuser? They've got those! Want flavored rock sugar? Yep, they have that by the ounce as well! (They even have tea-infused soaps and gift baskets.) They sample six or more teas every day, though they will also sell you a to-go cup of any flavor you'd like. The only thing I wish they had would be a little sit down area (or tea room) for enjoying a nice cuppa. read more

3 stars only because the teas were so good. The ladies working there are the issue. My mom and mother-in-law are visiting from out of town. They both like tea so we thought we would go for some good stuff. I'm not a tea drinker so I didn't realize that you're not supposed to open the big tins, but I wanted to smell it and thought the small tins were for sale. One lady comes rushing up on me, literally a brisk jog. I apologize and say I didn't know. She smiles politely enough, but then 5 minutes later, if that, she approaches us again and asks if we have questions. A couple minutes later the other woman approaches us about questions. I say we're good thanks. Another minute later the first lady comes again, and asks us if we have questions. "Don't worry, we're going to buy something," I say. Really, it's a small place and NO ONE else got approached like this. Is it because we all have dark hair, olive skin, qnd sometimes speak in French? I don't know, but otherwise, I don't get it. 4 times in 10 minutes? We'll go to Teavana next time, instead. read more
