First time coming here and definitely enjoyed this place! All the items were very flavorful. One thing I would do is maybe ask for less salad sauce or ask for it on the side. Other than that I would definitely come back and try other items in the menu. There is street parking and there were lots of spaces inside for tables. It's very clean and spacious. Also has some items for purchase like chips, drinks, and sauces inside.
I'm so glad I decided to walk in to this temple of asian goodness. I wanted to buy the whole store and decided on trying out the food first. The pre made pork belly bowl and cucumber salad was no mistake. It tasted fresh, delicious and melted in my mouth.
I genuinely don't think I've ever had a sandwich like the Wagyu beef banh mi from Fatty Mart. I was honestly kind of shocked after the first bite. It somehow tasted like if a French dip and a bowl of pho had a baby, which sounds insane, but it was so so good. The Wagyu was ridiculously flavorful, and with the onions and jalapeños, every bite had that perfect mix of richness & freshness. I have to say, it was a little messy to eat, but I inhaled it in like five minutes. It comes with a pho broth on the side and that's what really sent me over the edge. Dipping the banh mi into that broth was so rich and flavorful...seriously one of the most unique and delicious things I've eaten in a while!
Oh why did I take so long to check this place out?! I absolutely love the vibe in here. Cool place to grab a bite or a drink as there's tons of outdoor and indoor seating. Also love their selection of shelf and refrigerated items. In the end we left with 3 different sauces which I'm excited to try. Will definitely be back!
Interesting store with uncommon cool finds, that serves Asian fusion concept hot food and small dishes (like Korean Banchan). Fatty Mart is basically an Asian bodega, that's part of the Fatty Group (their restaurant Little Fatty is around the block). I like the fusion concept and how it implements Taiwanese elements throughout the menu and the store itself. It's my first time here at Fatty Mart, I ordered 3 items to try: Popcorn Chicken (4.5/5): No brainer order, you won't go wrong with this dish at any Taiwanese place. Decently portioned, comes with Thai sweet and chili sauce. I wish it comes with spicy option where they could coat it with chili powder, the chicken is juicy, they deep fried it with basil as well which is quite accurate to the Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken. Gluten free as well, at the same time it's crispy. Papaya Salad (4.7): Portion is decent for the price, the taste is pretty good and refreshing. Love the cashew toppings that adds texture and depth. Taste profile is good, recommend. Some places don't let the sauce sink into the shredded papaya, this one is well marinated and has great flavours (slightly spicy). Hainan Chicken Noodle Soup (1/5): Sorry. I was deciding if I should get this or the three cup chicken (either fold or rice platter), and I regretted it. This is under delivering, it's bland. Not like the noodles are soggy or not fresh. I just think they shouldn't associate this soup dish with Hainan, it didn't come with any of the 3 classic dipping sauces you will see in Hainan Chicken. The soup and the chicken tastes nothing related to Hainan Chicken. It tastes like boxed chicken stock in grocery store with a few piece of Bok Choy and cilantro... It's reasonably priced.. Either name it as a regular chicken noodle soup, or has some elements that's related. I could see this soup with the ginger scallion taste, this needs to be adjusted or removed from the menu. Anyways, I love to see a place that celebrates Asian food culture! This place carries flavours from Vietnam, Taiwan, Thai, Korean dishes. It has a great selection of alcohol and snacks, hot food, salad bar and Korean shaved ice.
I'm obsessed with Fatty Mart. Great location. Okay parking. Charming staff. Remodel made it even more spacious, colorful, and attractive. So fun to drop by and try new items along with my delicious "usuals."
Mondays are BOGO pad see ew!! The lumpia was also super flavorful at 5 for $7! Service was friendly and quick too as we got take out! Cute grocery store inside with authentic Asian things to buy!!
Stumbled across such a cute Asian convenience store! I loved how there was everything from drinks, food, and merch! Ordered the lumpia and banh mi! Loved the beef banh mi paired with the pho soup! Super flavorful.
Hallelujah there's an Asian market on the Westside!! This cute spot has colorful wall murals, patio seating, indoor kitchen style seating, alcoholic & na beverages, hot kitchen, mini mart, and to go fridge all in one! They also offer a microwave and water dispenser for no extra charge, so that's a big perk nowadays! They also do specials each day of the week and events like comedy nights so this place is for sure happening and a gem in the neighborhood!
Great neighborhood market and spot to get a delicious meal. Ordered the rice bowl with bulgogi beef and pork belly rice bowl (made it a fatty style) with a side of pork lumpias ... everything was so good! The Thai tea was very refreshing! Street parking is available. Staff were awesome!
This is mainly a review for the Fatty Fold, one of the food options on the menu. Soo flavorful and filling for $10 (heard it used to be $7). Really great employment of fusion cuisine. The kimchi pickles were also tasty, on the sweeter side and well-vinegared. Plenty of seating and quick service. More of an industrial vibe, and lots of drinks to choose from in the "grocery" portion of their spot. Lots of street parking nearby.
Great place to grab food and snacks quickly. They're also very allergen friendly with all the allergen notations on the menu. Love that they have gluten free fried chicken. It's not easy to find places that make gluten free friend chicken that have that crunch! Try their taiwainese 3 cups chicken! you won't regret it. They also have the hot food section - where you can select what you want with 2 sides and they'll weigh it. Few ready to go small sides such as korean banchan to grab. Love that they put all the ingredients on the food - for us all GF BFF's in the world to enjoy. Lots of places to sit as well.
Fatty Mart is such a GEM! I love how open the space and it really makes me feel like it is a mini H Mart or Mitsuwa. They have a variety of refrigerated and frozen foods as well as other snacks, groceries, gifts and alcohol to choose from. The food court is also small but versatile and they have great deals daily! My fiancé and I were lucky enough to go on a Monday where they have buy one get one pad see ew and although tot was delicious the Wagyu Bahn Mi was just amazing with the meat cooked perfectly, along with a softer bread so it's easier to eat! I cannot wait to come back again and try other things and I for sure think you need to check this place put because the workers were all so nice and efficient when working the different food spots!
I love fatty mart! If you sign up for their rewards program, you get five dollars off for your birthday. So I decided to go grab a banh mi sandwich and notice that they now have a hot bar! Unfortunately, the time that I went, the hot bar wasn't open but the offerings looked really good. I love little fatty for having all of their awesome asian snacks as well as their premade foods and sauces. And everything else in between. My banh mi sandwich was perfect! The chicken had a lot of flavor, the the gate was perfect, and it was big enough for 2 meals. I love a decent size bahn mi! They also have plenty of street parking, except on Sundays morning because of the Mar Vista Farmer's Market. read more

Food: I ordered- 1. Wagyu Beef Dip Banh Mi Sandwich with Pho Dip Sauce: This was so good! It's basically like eating pho in a sandwich instead of noodles. The combination of the flavorful Wagyu beef, Banh mi, and pho dipping sauce was really unique. I definitely recommend trying this if you're looking for something different! 2. Fried Pork and Cabbage Dumplings with Sweet Chili Sauce: These were surprisingly crispy and delicious! I also think the sweet chili sauce complements the dumpling really well. Service: Excellent! Friendly and helpful. They also offer several BOGO deals on Uber Eats every once in a while, which is a nice bonus. Ambiance: Casual and humble. read more

Fatty Mart in Mar Vista is one of those places that makes you do a double take when you walk in. Is it a cafe? A grocery store? A wine shop you accidentally want to browse for 20 minutes? Yes. I've been to Little Fatty and Accomplice Bar before, so I already trusted the ownership, but this mart setup is especially fun. You can grab a legit meal and then immediately wander the aisles pretending you're only going to buy one thing. Spoiler alert: you won't. I ordered the Kra Pow rice bowl with spicy chicken and green beans and it hit exactly how I wanted it to. Flavorful, satisfying, and actually spicy enough to count. Paired it with an iced matcha latte, which was solid and refreshing without being overly sweet. The market side is what really seals it though. Huge selection of snacks, pantry items, and some very tempting wines that definitely caught my eye. This feels like the kind of spot you pop into "real quick" and somehow leave very happy and slightly over budget. I'll absolutely be back, probably hungry, probably telling myself I don't need more wine. read more
FattyMart is an interesting concept, a mashup of Eataly-style market meets Taiwanese food court, with a sprinkle of general Asian grocery items. The vibe is young and energetic, with a few tables outside the market and casual seating scattered throughout the space. We ordered the Fatty Folds with three-cup chicken, wagyu beef pho banh mi, and beef bulgogi bowl with a fatty add-on. The Fatty Folds were an interesting twist on the Taiwanese scallion pancake, used as taco-style to wrap your choice of protein. While the concept was fun, the pancake itself was overly greasy and lacked scallion flavor. It's a pass. The wagyu banh mi was good overall, though a bit dry on its own. Thankfully, the pho beef dip was excellent and really made the dish better. The bulgogi bowl came with only six tiny slices of beef on a full bowl of rice. Without the fatty add-on ($4), it would've been disappointing. Big thanks to the waitress who strongly recommended upgrading. Service was quick, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I'd give the food 3.5 out of 5 stars, and the staff and setting 4 out of 5. Overall, it's a 4-star place, worth checking out for the concept for once. read more

I've had Fatty Mart bookmarked for quite some time, and since I had some time off from work for the week of New Year's, I figured I would finally give it a try. I came on a Tuesday at noon. Finding a metered parking space was pretty easy, but I don't know if that's normal for this area, or if it's because it's the week of a holiday and everyone is out of town. The inside of the place was nice and clean, with a sort of industrial aesthetic. Lots of uncommon Asian groceries, snacks, and drinks available. Plenty of food court style seating inside, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I ordered the beef bulgogi bowl. I went with the "make it fatty" option, which adds banchan to the bowl (kimchi and other veggies). The bulgogi is made from wagyu, and everything in the bowl was very tasty. I also ordered the pork belly fatty fold. It too, was very tasty - be warned on this particular item though, it is VERY fatty. The fatty parts are very rich, and I felt a little nauseous after eating it - you will need Lipitor for dessert! Lastly, I also ordered a Thai iced tea - good, but nothing special. My total came out to a little over $37, so it was quite pricey. Overall, the food was good-tasting, but not a good value. Still worth trying, but this isn't a place that I will be visiting that frequently. read more

Fatty Mart had a lot of food that sounded amazing I had trouble choosing so I went with the pork. Pork belly bowl was amazing pork was very tender and the sides paired well. Pork belly had a great crunch on the outside and was tender as well the spicy sauce paired amazing. Dumplings were nice and crispy. People working were very nice and gave great recommendations and layout of the store was very nice with a seated area in the front and the market in the back I will Fs be back soon! P.S. they are also on Inkind making it 6 star worthy. read more

First time we tried this place it was great, the crispy pork was on point and they had pretty good Taiwanese popcorn fried chicken. The second time we ordered it was a big disappointment. The food was stale and not crispy (boxes need holes in them for delivery). The pork belly banh mi was pretty bad. You could only taste fat and all the pork skin still had hair on it. I'm being pretty generous with a 3/5, because the quality of food here does not match the price. I don't recommend anyone order the pork belly banh mi, unless you like pig hair in your sandwich. read more

I've been coming to Fatty Mart ever since they opened because I've always been a fan of Little Fatty, their restaurant/bar around the corner. What I love about Fatty Mart is that it's always evolving whether it's the layout, menu, or vibe inside, they're constantly switching things up. Recently, they've added more indoor seating and scaled back some of the shelf goods, which makes it a nice spot to hang out and grab a bite. But I still stick to the patio because there's a TV to watch games and I just like seeing the people walking by. I come mostly for their daily specials: My go-to is the Tuesday Fatty Fold -- 5/5 easily my favorite! You can choose your protein (the orange chicken and braised pork are both great) wrapped in a scallion pancake-style shell with fresh veggies. It's flavorful, fun, and satisfying every time. I've also had Thursday's pork plate, which comes with fried and BBQ-style pork, rice, veggies, and a fried bread that reminds me of a festive African bread. It's a hearty portion! My only note -- 3/5 the bok choy could use a little more love. It's fresh but plain; a light seasoning and chop it up smaller would be nice. For breakfast, they've had some gems over the years. The breakfast burrito (with eggs, veggies, and fried mushrooms) is solid, but the scallion wrap was my favorite -- 5/5 eggs, veggies, pork sausage, and a Velveeta-style cheese. So unique and full of flavor, hopefully it's still on the menu Beverage: They also serve beer from tap , and an amazing pink froze drink- Don't skip this frozen cocktails -- it's always perfectly slushy and refreshing. I did notice the frozen machine moved to the corner, so it's easier to miss now. A bigger sign outside would help because this drink deserve attention! ;) lol Service is always friendly and welcoming, whether you're dining in or ordering to-go. Overall, Fatty Mart is a true Mar Vista neighborhood gem, casual, creative, and consistently good. I always leave happy and excited to see what they'll come up with next. read more

Fatty Mart is a total foodie playground -- packed with delicious Asian fusion eats, snacks, and unique pantry finds. Don't miss their frozen dumplings (stock up!) and the huge selection of drinks, from niche sodas to fun Asian teas. Major bonus: on summer Sundays they've started doing BBQ lunch bowls and the charcoal grill make it smell so good -- we tried the lemongrass chicken, and I'm coming back for the char siu and kalbi next time . Cute market with a variety of goods to shop for including fun snacks, premade meals, drinks and a few food stalls. (Pizza, coffee, ice cream, etc.) Fun vibes and cute atmosphere with super friendly staff. They have two, single bathrooms which were clean. Parking can get a bit tricky depending on when you go. There's parking in the neighborhood a bit away or there's street meter parking. read more
I was in the area for a haircut next-door. There was a bit of a wait so I went here to get some lunch and some caffeine. I got a mapo tofu pizza slice and a cappuccino. I'm upping my score with this visit/experience. Not only can you get some delicious curated goods here, but this place is a pretty fun spot to eat and hang out. They had some football playing on the TV as well. read more
This is a great place to get Taiwanese snacks, drinks and food. I had their Fatty Folds and it was delicious! They always have new stuff so you're never bored. Service is great, servers are very nice. It is nice atmosphere. Plenty of space to eat indoor and outdoor. Parking might be a challenge. Other than that, everything is great! read more

I am obsessed with this place. I came because I finally ran out of the huge variety pack of Momofuku ramen I had bought around the holidays, and read you can buy them here. So nice just to go pick them up, along with tons of other pantry upgrades to make noodle night at home a home run. I also got tons of fun sweets and snacks to take home. All that delicious food made me hungry so I ordered some potstickers and dumplings to enjoy there, and it was a treat. Very pleasant patio, tons of delicious drinks to choose from, great staff, no notes. read more
Love this place for groceries and made to order food!! Came for breakfast and enjoyed the birria breakfast burrito, and ask for all the sauces. The staff were so welcoming. Seating with tables in the front! Indoor and outdoor. read more
